I hired Chris to move my 81-year-old mom's belongings from Vermont to Salt Lake City. Chris gave a fair, fixed price. He showed up right when he said he would every time we met and was a pleasure to work with. Everything was moved with not a touch of damage. Even the plants survived healthy! Chris will be my go-to mover from now on. I give his company, University Moving Services a hearty reccomendation! read more

I can't say enough great things about Chris and his team at University Moving Services! Their pricing was EXTREMELY fair, they were very responsive through the quote and booking process, on time on the day of the move, fast but careful with my belongings, professional and accommodating. I couldn't ask for better service on a such a stressful day. read more

Chris was super communicative, responsive and turned up on time. Unload and load went smoothly. Would definitely hire him again.

I love University Moving Services. Chris is very responsive, the prices are fair, and the movers are fast and friendly. I've had my fair share of movers and this place definitely ranks at the top. read more

Our building flooded, and the elevator was out, and we lived on the 6th floor, for starters. Then we had to move the moving date twice because our new apartment lease got pushed back because of construction. But these guys were flexible, professional, and excellent. 4 guys came and trucked up and down all of those stairs with all of our belongings, they were careful and respectful, and they started at 9 and finished by 12:30. 10/10 read more

I cannot say enough good things about Chris and University Moving Services. Flexible, reasonably priced, reliable, friendly, good at their job! We had an oddball moving need - we needed to move the family heirlooms in a Burlington storage unit to Chicago. Every option we looked at was outrageously expensive or very unwilling to navigate the pick up of the items to correspond with our brief time in Vermont. Chris was originally scheduled to bring us a Uhaul Upack cube and have his team pack it up for us. But then Uhaul decided to last minute change our reservation to a different location in NY. Chris didn't blink an eye - was willing to go to the other location but then offered us an even better option. Chris was patient and full of reasonable solutions every time we hit a roadblock. We ended up hiring University Moving Services to pack our belongings and do the actual move to Chicago. He communicated well, items arrived in great condition exactly as he said they would, and the moving items turned out to be the easiest part of winding down the estate. Thank you Chris! read more

From first contact Chris was right on the ball. He answered my questions and came over the next day to give us a quote. *His quote came in 2/3 lower than all the quotes I got* On moving day, he showed up with one person and did the work the other companies claimed would take 4 people. They handled our furniture with care, deftly navigating large pieces through tight spaces with only a moment's planning. In other words, they know what they are doing and we were not paying for them to stand around trying to figure out how to move our furniture. They worked through from the moment they arrived to the moment they left and didn't waste a moment of time. When they bill came, it was lower than the quote because they worked so efficiently. I hope I don't have to move again anytime soon, but if I do, they will be my first call. In the mean time, I'll recommend them anyone who needs moving help -- they were that good. read more

So happy with the work these guys have done to help us out I so far! We asked Chris's team to move some things into storage and they were quick & careful! I called on a Holiday weekend & he was prompt & open to accommodating all my needs as I was in a rush to get this done. So grateful to have called him and his team! He's finishing another job for us as well since other companies were far less competent & overcharged us - so again I'm so grateful for his help & will update this review once that is done!!! *EDIT* Such an amazing job, so grateful we didn't go with 1-800 Junk, they overcharged and would not have been nearly as helpful. He put trash in dump, gave our donation items to Goodwill & it was all smooth sailing while I was in another state!!! read more

The midnight before I had to move, I reached out requesting a quote and service within the next two days. Not only did they get back to me with a quote with the best price around, they came, packed, and moved me to my new place the next day. They're quick and efficient and were very careful packing my plates and glassware. I could not recommend these folks enough. If you need movers that can get you to where you and your stuff needs to be efficiently, these are the people. read more

We were in the final mile of packing and moving prior to the close of our house when we realized we simply didn't have time to pack all of our belongings on the very tight timeline we were on to meet our closing date. Fortunately, a friend of our daughter's found University Moving Services and was able to reach Richard. When I was able to speak with Richard about and hour later, I didn't have high hopes because it was mid-day on a Saturday and we needed to have everything packed into the trailer by end of day Sunday. Richard assured me that he could accommodate us, and provided us with a quote that I thought was very reasonable given the circumstances. While we had a few miscues with the crew getting started the next day due to factors beyond anyone's control, Richard's team did get started mid-day on Sunday and were completely finished loading a three-bedroom house by 6 PM. The crew was professional, personable, respectful, and took great care to pack our belongings properly. The entire process helped eliminate a world of stress for me and my wife, and it was all thanks to Richard and his team. If you need help moving call University Moving Services. You'll be glad you did. read more

Scheduled to start move at Friday noon. But the mover never come. I waited for two hours, Emailed 4 times, Texted 4 times, called 3 times, leaving voice mail. Being polite all the time. It's ok to be late, it's ok to cancel the appointment. I understand unexpected situation can happen. But why does Chris refuse to explain the situation? Why he never respond to every communication, to let me know what happen. Why does Chris has such a rude behavior? In the end I still texted him, politely asking for confirmation that he is really not coming. And he still doesn't respond to my text. Be careful with this mover, have a back up plan at hand read more

From the first phone call to Richard, I knew we would go with University Movers. Richard was so kind and extremely accommodating. We wanted to move with only 2 days notice to them. We had been packed for a couple weeks and ready to go but hadn't yet found the right moving company. Everyone else was so expensive and couldn't move us on the dates we wanted. When a friend suggested University Movers, I called right away. The prices were great and Richard shifted some things around so they could accommodate us for that same weekend! They guys were extremely careful with our things. They wrapped all the valuable pieces. They knew what they were doing and I didn't have to do a thing. Nothing was broken, damaged or lost. But I was extremely impressed when they worked their tails off 2 hours beyond their original time when they thought they would be done. They stayed and completed the job until 10pm with smiles and perfect manners the entire day. I loved these guys! They know what their doing and would recommend them without any hesitation! read more

Called this service to inquire yesterday. A man called me back and we briefly discussed moving a couch before the call got disconnected. I then received a text from this business number calling me babe, asking me where I lived, and telling me to send a pic of myself. Women and femmes may want to avoid this location read more

These guys were great! They came within 2 of calling them. The guys were very polite and what is most important to me is they were SAFE. I said told them straight away that there were little kids and to please look out for them. The guys are dads themselves and you can tell that they are good dad's. Safety was a priority for them, they are obviously very experienced. No marks on the walls. Very service oriented! I recommend them to mother as well. read more

I really appreciated that the team checked in the night before to confirm services. They were prompt and very careful with our belongings.

Chris and his crew are very friendly, timely, and efficient with the move. We had a simple move but they go above and beyond to deliver great service. Highly recommend to anyone! read more

We had a great experience with University! Everything went just as promised and planned. Our move from Burlington to New Bedford, Ma went without a hitch. We have moved a lot and have had a wide range of experiences, but this was one of the best. They we quick, efficient, and everything arrived without any problems. I can highly recommend Chris and his team. read more

Such an amazing experience with this team! Rich was amazingly professional and responsive to us. We needed them to move us from our condo to a new house and the same day. These guys were great! They were friendly, efficient, and careful with my furniture. Great price, and willing to meet my budget. They were really backed up on my moving day (busy time for students to move), and came later than the window they planned on. They did, however, call me in advance to let me know and they continued to check in. It's evident they are very considerate. Overall, couldn't be happier with my move! read more

They were timely, kept to their e$timate, and very cooperative/professional. I highly recommend this smaller business!

These guys don't even deserve one star. Buyer beware! They insisted that I call or email them the day before to confirm that I was still ready for them to arrive on the day of the move. After several phone calls, emails and texts, I have heard nothing from the original contact, Richard Knopf. Moving is stressful enough. Not knowing if your movers will show up Is just unacceptable and cruel. I was able to find last-minute movers on the day of. Great luck for me! Do not use this company! I can't stress this point enough! read more

My sister called these guys last minute on our way up to VT to help our parents move. We used a moving service to help alleviate some of the stress that comes w moving and found VT Moving. Besides being willing to take us on last minute, pricing was spot on with what i paid for a similar move two weeks ago in Boston. Other vendors in 802 were charging double, completely taking advantage of the community!! I'd strongly recommend these guys, professional, polite, and willing to go the extra mile to make the client happy. read more

Courteous. Professional. Hardworking. We wanted to use a local company and were very pleased to find University Movers. They were on time, respectful of our things (not one item scratched or broken) and they worked vigorously completing the move in a shorter time than I would have expected. Would definitely recommend this company. read more

Starting out, I had the bright idea I could move my 3-bedroom house by myself. While I got everything loaded onto the rental truck, my body was completely wrecked. I called these on very short notice to see if they could do the unloading from a rental truck and they were able to accommodate me! Spoke with the owner (Richard) to set everything up. He was very professional and maintained great communication. The workers themselves were all hard-working, courteous, and careful with my things. The rates are reasonable and they accomplished in 2 hours and some change what took me 16 hours. Will definitely use them again. read more

Richard and his guys did a great job! Reasonable prices, nice guys, and they know what they are doing. Would hire them again.

Absolutely nothing but 5 STAR SERVICE and great communication! Dealt directly with the owner Richard who was most accommodating, pleasant and reliable! I will deal with no one else but him from now on! (have used the local bigger boys in the past with zero personalities). He had answers to my every question and I felt nothing but confident in my dealing with University Movers! Look no further! He brings the homey touch to your home! On time, dependable, considerate, knowledgeable...what more could you ask for? Simply top notch. read more

These guys were very friendly and helpful. I asked them last minute to move me also because they were moving my roommates furniture and they fit me into their schedule even though they were busy. Not too expensive and very nice people. read more

Richard and his crew may be experienced in neighborhood/local moves, but please do not trust them to pack your belongings for a cross-country move. I thought it was strange when they did not use the rope I purchased to tie boxes, furniture back as they went, but Richard (and his "A crew") assured me they were experienced and had done cross-country moves before... so I trusted them. Either their experience or their concern/care for our furniture and belongings was highly exaggerated, since absolutely every piece of our furniture was badly damaged when it arrived (including a table my husband made from 300-year-old Vermont pine boards). Salt to the wound: we tipped them generously and they broke our trust. Again, would never recommend for a move. read more

Very professional and great rates. Rich and his crew are extremely hard working and are really nice people. Let's face it, moving is not fun, so hire these guys and you will be much happier. read more

One of the worst moving experiences I have had. The lead guy disappeared for hours, the crew seemed to have no plan in place and carried single items out. They completely disregarded the word "fragile" on boxes; one of the crew members kicked one of our packed bins when putting it into our new house. And all they did was complain about other people they had moved for and the other people working with them. I have moved a lot and this was absolutely unprofessional and anxiety-filling. If I could have canceled it right then, I would have. read more

I wanted to comment on how honest, kind, diligent and full of initiative the owner Richard is. We live in Boston and lost our keys and they fell on the street. He happened upon them, in town for only the day, and not only went out his way to pick them up and call the number he found on one key, but when that produced no result (the key company shockingly told him to put the keys back on the street!), he called the number on the children's museum card that was attached to the keyring and told them the name of the person on the lost children's museum card and could they call me and give me his number so he could give the person back their keys. The children's museum called me and gave me Richard's number and we connected and he fed-exed the keys back to me free of charge. What a nice man! What an angel. I can't thank him enough and he went out his way for a stranger. Given this experience, I wouldn't hesitate to use Richard's company for moving. He is clearly 1000% trustworthy (important when moving our possessions) and hardworking and kind. I wish his business all the success it deserves. Our family are very very grateful (goodness knows what could have happened if the keys got into the wrong hands). Thank you! read more
