The guys who showed up for my scheduled move, Jake, Kwawe, and Ray Co., were everything you want in a moving crew: friendly, efficient, careful. Real pros. They were done in about an hour and 15 minutes. I was highly impressed with their good nature, given it was a blazingly hot day. The only bummer was that LMM had to move my appointment back by a couple of hours to fit in another move. But they gave me a week's notice, and they added another mover without additional cost. Local muscle movers where recommend to my girlfriend and myself by a few friends. we split our move over 2 weeks. The guys that showed up for the first move were great! They move went smooth and effortlessly. The movers were friendly and professional. we were very happy. Two weeks later we hired Local muscle movers again to move the rest of my things. A different crew showed up this time. They were polite and friendly but nowhere near being professionals. My things where not moved with the proper care and consideration that they should have received. They didn't use any blankets or tie downs in the back of their truck. This lead to things getting dinged, dented, and scratched. They rubbed my new couch against a door frame during the move. I told the movers where the couch and bed should go they ended up putting them in different spots. I ended up moving my mattress and box spring by myself from the hallway where they left it into the bedroom. The worst part was that they left a large dent in the side of my new $900 washer! The most frustrating part is this was all preventable. I cannot in good conscience recommend them. read more

This isn't really a mark against the company. I just don't think they were able to meet my needs which was a pretty standard move. I had to have my current place emptied, hold a closing on it, hold one on the place I was buying, and then have my stuff delivered to my new address about 2 miles away. They seemed perplexed by this. They had no idea what would happen to my stuff while I closed. In addition, the estimate process seemed shaky at best. They asked me to inventory my items including the number of boxes I would have once I packed. I was told things would not make it to the new address if I wasn't accurate. I'm not sure why they wouldn't send someone out to look at the job and use experience to judge it. I had no idea how many boxes I would use and for that matter, is a box even a standard unit of measurement? I could use 1000 tiny boxes or one giant box. Anyway, I got scared off by these factors. I assume they are good for small jobs but for a larger move, and to be fair my move was from a 1200 square foot place to a 1800 square foot place so I wouldn't say it was that large of a move, they seem ill-equipped. I do want to stress that everyone was nice in talking with me. P.S. Thanks for the response, Brendan (Russell?). Let me quote part of it. "We offer free on-site estimates for larger residential and commercial moves, so in order to efficiently manage our sales staff we can't perform an on-site estimate for every prospective move on our calendar. This is to ensure we have the sales office adequately staffed to handle the volume of estimate requests we process by email and phone. With that said, for smaller residential moves we have to rely on our clients to provide us with an inventory list in order to accurately calculate labor-time." This is the problem. If you don't have enough people to send someone out to give me an estimate then I might suggest hiring more staff. I can understand relying on clients to provide an inventory when appropriate. If I had to simply move a piece of exercise equipment or was moving out of a dorm, for example, then my description of it should be enough to at least provide a ballpark estimate. I don't feel a prospective client should have to inventory an entire house just to get an estimate, especially when the stakes are some of my possessions might not be included in the move. read more

They were very responsive and friendly provided a quote quickly and showed up on time for the move. Unfortunately, as it later became clear, they were careless with moving our furniture. Several furniture items were damaged and weren't brought to our attention. We gradually discovered over a week of unpacking more and more extensive damage to our furniture. A bureau was scratched, chipped and a large hole busted in the bottom. Also, they busted the drawer of the only truly nice piece of furniture we had. (An end table made with exotic wood) The manager was responsive and willing to work with us to somewhat compensate us for the damage. But, the damage was many times more than they could refund us, since we didn't get the full replacement insurance. Furthermore, we didn't discover the full extent of the damage until much after the move. (partially because it wasn't mentioned to us) . read more

The two young men who came were not only strong and capable, but they were smart and thoughtful, too. I had some difficult items to move and they thought everything through as they moved so that no damage was caused to either my items or the premises. They were punctual, hardworking, polite and optimistic. The move took longer than expected - likely because I had more items than I thought I did, not due to any sloth on their part - and they never made me feel like I was imposing on them. Communication was also excellent - they didn't require constant direction, but asked when needed so that things went where I wanted them.
