From the original quote by Heidi to the delivery that was handled by Justin, Bradley, and Matt, this was the best move we've had! And we've moved across the country and back! This was an out-of-state delivery (to Connecticut). We were impressed by the professionalism at every step of the way. We didn't want to be surprised by "unexpected" additional costs when our furniture was delivered. Heidi's quote was higher than competitors but seemed much more reasonable compared with past moves. In the end, the final cost was a little lower than the estimate. More than fair cost for the value of the work done. Well done, Heidi! Justin, Matt, and Brad showed up promptly on the scheduled day to pack us. Polite, responsible -- and efficient! They packed boxes and protected the furniture well. They finished early enough to start loading the truck that day and came back the following day to finish loading. They arrived earlier than expected in Connecticut the following morning and unloaded very quickly. Furniture was positioned and reassembled as we wanted and boxes were placed in the correct locations. Amazing work! Nothing was lost. Nothing was broken. Despite the careful protection, there were minor scuff marks on a couple of pieces, but nothing worth trying to repair. On time, under budget, and in good order. It doesn't get better than that. Excellent experience. Moved some things for us 2 weeks prior to listing our home. The house sold quicker than expected and they squeezed are final move into their schedule. Extremely considerate, kind, careful movers. Thanks for taking such great efforts with all of our antiques, slate pool table from 1910, soda machines, gas pumps, pinball machines you name it.....nothing broke and wrapped with care. I asked around to see which movers were recommended and Morways was a name that I heard repeatedly. I contacted a few others to compare quotes and Morways was on the high end, but unlike Local Muscle they weren't hounding me for a deposit to secure the date. Actually the whole process was so casual that I had to contact them to confirm the dates to ease my nerves. The final cost versus the quote will be a bit different because they charge by the hour, and that includes the time that they leave the warehouse to get to you, so just know that and avoid chatting with them and wasting their time as I did because it's $. Workers were great, young, strong, careful, considerate and punctual. I'd use them again although I hope to be done with moving for a long while! read more

My wife and I have used Morway's twice for moves of all our stuff. These guys are the absolute best. Jason and his crew are strong, quick and very careful. They cleared out our old house and had all our rugs down, beds in place, couches arranged, and stuff put away in the new house much more quickly than I could have imagined. They take a special interest in their clients and handle fragile items with great care. Their fees are entirely reasonable, esp. given how fast they work. I had a very favorable experience with Morway's. I used them for a move I did in 2011 within the state. They showed up on time and the move was spotless. They packed a lot of stuff for me and wrapped my furniture in moving blankets, etc. Hire these guys if you have real furniture and art that you want moved in a safe way. A lot of other local companies don't wrap things. This is a college town and a lot of the movers are geared toward cheapish college moves. They actually made two drop off stops for me. I have nothing to complain about. I think with any moving company, sometimes during very busy times they might hire outside workers to help with the high demand. It's at times like this people have problems. Generally, folks that are steady workers for a moving company are more committed to giving you good service. If you can, ask for the resumes of the people who will be doing your move and make sure you have experienced movers to avoid any issues! read more

Do NOT trust this company. We hired Morway's to move the contents of our VT home to a storage unit in ME. When the original estimate was done, owner Justin Morway recommended a 3-day move: pack Thurs., load in VT Fri., unload in ME Sat. We gave Morway's the address of the storage facility and indicated it was only open on Sat. betw. 9&3. Morway's said fine. I updated the estimate I signed to make sure it was clear. We packed a bit and disposed of items before the move, so we got an updated estimate, lower than the first. Wed. afternoon Morway's asked for a 2-day schedule. They said they could pack & load in 1 day. We said sure. We called the storage facility to ask about a Fri. unload instead of Sat. (longer access hours), but no go because they had a semi in that day. We passed that on to Morway's and agreed to keep the Sat. delivery date. Thurs. we had up to 5 guys packing & loading. The morning was great. Things declined in the afternoon. When it was clear the crew was running out of time and room in the truck, packing became sloppier. We later found that remaining items were boxed randomly and marked "Misc" (no labeling). A few items were dropped, and care with some, including expensive lighting fixtures, was less than satisfactory. But the crew got it done and remained positive. We were tired and didn't make an issue of it. At day's end we learned they were making the 5-hour drive to ME on Sat. morning. We reiterated the 6-hour unloading window starting at 9. "No problem." We also emailed head office to highlight the hours and were told, "the guys will be there between 9:30&10." They arrived at 10:30 with only a 2-guy crew. Our unit is a 3rd floor interior unit in an old mill. For security reasons the access rules are strict. By 2 it was clear the deadline would not be met. The truck was still half full. We were frustrated. They were understaffed, there was some damage due to sloppy packing and there was poor labeling (noted above). The storage facility needed to close, so we asked a crew member to have Justin call us to talk. He did. I told him we were concerned customers, the job was understaffed and we wanted to know the plan for finishing the job. Justin's response was that it was our decision to use a storage facility that refused to stay open past closing time-not his problem. Remember, I gave Morway's the hours 3 separate times. When I told Justin that, he countered with "he said, she said." Justin then said "most storage units are outdoor units that can be unloaded right off the truck" and that we could be charged extra "by law" for the long carry to the 3rd floor. He was "doing us a favor" by not passing on that charge. I replied that we were never asked anything about the delivery location and I expected he would have researched the address when preparing the estimate. Again, wrong thing to say and not his problem! He then said our weight was 3,000 lbs over estimate for which we hadn't been charged, another example of his fairness. So I had no reason to be upset. Remember, he's in the moving business, not me, and he did 2 estimates. We have no idea what our stuff weighs. The call had become quite heated by that point and clear to me that there was NO accountability there, so I never brought up the damage or substandard packing job. Justin then insisted we pay in full before he'd allow his to crew to finish the job OR the truck would be back in VT in the morning with our remaining possessions on board. A direct threat. Stunned. Under serious protest we paid the bill to get the job done. They finished at 6:30pm. In stark contrast to Justin's behavior, the storage facility owner saw what was happening, changed his own plans for the afternoon and, against policy, kept the entire facility open for us. The moving crew was in the middle, remained professional and did their best under difficult circumstances. Justin assumed no responsibility and was entirely unprofessional, inappropriate and hostile. In more than 30 years as a business professional, I have never been treated so poorly by a contractor. read more

They epitomize the perfect balance between the personal feel, warmth and attention of a local Vermont business and the professionalism, reliability and trustworthiness of a national brand. As most Vermonters would, we'd resigned ourselves to the fact that we'd probably have to settle for a national moving company and third party subcontracting for such a major project, which meant we'd have to deal with the stress of flying back to Vermont to pack and oversee the move. So we were thrilled when, Morway's, a local, highly reputable, family company was so willing, equipped and able to pack up TWO households and personally drive our belongings across the whole country to Arizona. Heidi and Justin and their employees were always a pleasure to deal with and we could not have been more impressed with their dedication and service. They truly went above and beyond! Morway's moved us across town yesterday, and they were very good. The crew was polite, courteous, eager, and hard working. We tried to do much of our packing, and we did a lot but were somewhat overwhelmed. They packed what we couldn't (and didn't plan to e.g. china, glassware,etc.) Overall they packed more than we had estimated, but they did the job and gave us relief. The cost was very close to the estimate. We used more supplies, but it took less time than estimated. I have no reservations recommending them. read more

Morway's cancelled our move ON THE DAY OF THE MOVE! They did almost nothing they promised to: 1) they did not come the week of the move, as they promised, to advise us on what we pack vs what they pack, 2) they did not come the day before the move, as they promised, to help us pack, and 3) most importantly, they did not move us and CANCELLED ON THE DAY OF THE MOVE. The follow on was, our realtor called them to try to get them to go back, and they said all kinds of untrue things about us to try to justify their actions. Luckily, Booska Movers was able to do our job last minute the next day and totally bailed us out. Booska was professional, very hard working, and treated our belongings with a lot of care. We hired Morway's to move us out of state. The guys all seemed very nice, and very willing. What a mistake. First off, they didn't allow enough time to pack our belongings, so the last day went very late. They then delivered our items to our new home, but again, they didn't allow ample time to unload, so at the end of the day, they simply piled the rest of our boxes in the garage, all rooms mixed up together, and left in a hurry. When we unpacked the items, we discovered that many had been simply thrown into boxes unwrapped, breakables and heavy items all thrown in together. So many items were broken, chipped or smashed into pieces. (We had wanted unpacking service as well, but they said they didn't have time as they had another job they had to rush to get to. No wonder they didn't want to unpack! They didn't want to be there when we saw what a terrible packing job they did!) If you care at all about the handling of your items, look elsewhere. read more

We hired Morway's for a crosstown move in September and the experience, from getting an estimate on line, dealing with Heidi in the office to the actual move, could not have been better. It was easy to fill out the pre-move form on line and get an estimate. Scheduling the move was also easy and Morway's contacted us to see if we wanted to move up the date when they had an unexpected opening. On the day of the move Justin and his crew showed up on time and worked diligently throughout the day. They were hard working, professional, courteous and careful. It was a short crosstown move on a hot day but they had trucks loaded, moved and unloaded as expeditiously as could be expected and with no damage to anything.
