I broke my tibia and fibula over a year ago and I am still dealing with these ridiculous people! First, it took about 2 months for me to get my wheelchair because they had the pickiest requirements ever and kept blaming the insurance even though my insurance was great and said they'd approve it right away. I was literally using an office rolley chair to go to the restroom and could not leave the house without the wheelchair. I called them every single day! I FINALLY get it and thought it was done with. This year they start calling and saying they need my new insurance info. I tell them over and over again I don't have insurance now and they just can't comprehend that. They say my wc was on rental even though my insurance has paid 1000s, well over the cost of the actual wc. They call me about once a week asking for my insurance info. Every week I tell them I don't have insurance and am already in severe medical debt so I don't know what they want from me. One guy eventually symphatises with me after he realizes there's less than $100 due and my insurance already paid well over the cost. He says not to worry about it and it's taken care of. A month later the calls start again asking for my insurance. I get so frustrated and say just take the dang thing back, but please leave me alone! They literally came the next day and picked it up. I kid you not, paid 1000s for this, I was going to donate it, and they legit picked it up!! Zero organization or compassion at this company, just greedy and taking advantage of vulnerable people. Find somewhere else to get your medical supplies unless you want to wait monthssss to get it and then deal with them for years later. Also, seriously what company doesn't have a notes system after calls, literally different people calling me regularly to ask the exact same question and of course no record of the guy telling me it's been excused. read more

I am having to change my review on this company. I bought a Merits Power chair from them and the frame broke. The manufacturer or this company will not repair it. So, I left a negative review. So, they called me and told me they would order the part for me and have it sent to me if I paid for the part and shipping. Which I did 2 weeks ago. Now they are telling me I need to change my review and they will have the part shipped to me. I can't go to doctors or anywhere because I can't fix my chair without the part. Said they would provide fitting in my area strung me along for a month just to tell me they can't do a fitting would not provide the proper option to figure out my fit. We love the chair, was unable to get it in the house yet. Our lift isn't ready yet but hopefully we're able to get it in by Saturday. My husband did go out to the garage, and he love it. We love the recliner it help him to sit longer, with out the hip and buttock pain. And the fact he is able to move around on his on, with out someone pushing him. The chair also helped me doing the times I can here what he's saying, I don't have to stop and go to him he rolls to me now. This company is by far the very worst of any medical supply company I have to date dealt with. I have been ATTEMPTING to recieve my bi-pap products from this dysfunctional, unprofessional, inept, company since March. And here we are May 17 and I'm still waiting. I was told last week I would be getting a delivery. Waited all week. This week I was advised Monday I'd get my supplies by Thursday, it's now Friday. Where the heck are my supplies. I know one thing once this delivery is made I am friggin done with this darn company. I AM DONE with the false information, the unprofessionalism of the representatives, at least a couple I've spoken to. This company was recommended to our family upon discharge from the hospital. It takes multiple days to get them to deliver a hospital bed with small arm rails. If you call them and ask about getting normal adult sized arm rails they told us that they would have to charge us for any extra service calls. Due to the lack of help and my Fathers worsening condition we decided to switch to hospice. We called them for pickup of the hospital bed on February 29th. They called us on March 6th and they said they couldn't come until March 11th for pickup. After expressing our frustrations they came to pickup the bed on March 7th.... And left the mattress behind. They claim they cannot take the mattresses back anymore but when they brought it to us it was used and sunken down in the middle. If you don't want to make your life more difficult use another company. They truly made the loss of my Father much more difficult and stressful. If I could give negative stars I would. read more

My husband lost his leg about a year ago. And we got an electric chair from universal med supply. The chair has not worked well for a long time. It doesn't hold a charge. They send repair people out that don't know how to fix it. We were told to spend $600 on new batteries. That that would fix the issue and it hasn't. They keep talking about the chair going faster. Which it used to, but we're calling because he can barely go a couple of blocks, and the chair dies. I've called probably 15 times the repair. People have found 3 times they can't get it fixed. And we've used our insurance benefit for this chair and won't be able to get another one for 4 more years. It feels like they got all their money by selling us this chair. And now they're washing their hands of us. They may say that's not what it is, but it's exactly how it feels. If you can help it, do not use the universal med supply. Because they don't really care about anything but getting their money. We now have to come up with funds to purchase a chair, which I will do. Universal med supply is the worst company to deal with I had got a scout 3 scooter through them at first they billed my insurance company and then they tried billing me that was not the worst of it I have been going round and around with them to fix my scooter my husband and I have been calling them at first they put us through to the manufacturer to trouble shoot the scooter we did all they said to do it fixed it then the next day I called them back because the same thing was happening again so I asked them if they can send a tech out to fix it they said it was out of warranty they can not fix it .They do not back up there products at all.They do not return any of there calls at all. read more

We had to purchase an air mattress for our disabled brother a year ago in April. It was presented to us that we were making a one time purchase when we paid over $300 out of pocket. When he became eligible for Medicare two months later, we found out that this was a rent to own, and the insurance company was covering the mattress with monthly payments on top of what we paid (a very expensive mattress!). Universal misstated and misrepresented the price and purchase. Now, 15 months after the purchase, we were notified by the care home the mattress has developed a leak and is not holding air. I called Universal, and spoke with a representative who was flipplant, advising this is not their problem or concern - the mattress only had a 12 month warranty, and they were not advised of any other problems with this mattress. Our doctor ordered a wheelchair for my pregnant wife. It was supposed to be a rental as she doesn't need this chair after the baby is delivered. Unfortunately, they billed it as a purchase and gave her the run around for several months, suggesting it was a problem with the billing company Carecentrix. The total cost for the chair was $1,133 plus add ons. Total cost to me after insurance with be roughly $450. The same model can be purchased for $250 on Amazon. Worst service I have ever received for med supplies. I ordered CPAP supplies 3rd week of October. They said they needed new prescription and would contact my Dr. 3rd week of November, and still nothing. I called them, and lo and behold, the presc. just came in!!! Will ship supplies "soon". Received order Dec. 3, but only got a few of items ordered. I called and they said they were out of the other items and they should by in by the end of January!! I threatened to call Medicare and report them for fraudulent practices. The items arrived Jan 17.
