We took the kids to Universal recently because who doesn't love pizza?! It was a solid experience and Christen our server was really really awesome and managed all her tables really well and was very friendly. We split a couple house salads which featured some terrific fresh produce (heirloom small tomatoes were the star of the show). Also - this is a little plug for their ranch dressing - restaurant style ranch dressing is a staple and the MVP condiment in the southeast and theirs is terrific. Throw some on your salad, dip your pizza crust, hell I'm pretty sure with how amazing it is you could use it as a skin moisturizer and it would dominate. Lastly, the pizza was terrific. The kids split a half cheese half pepperoni and the wife and I split a buffalo chicken pizza (subbed out cheddar for mozzarella). The buffalo chicken pizza was elite but not too spicy, they drizzled a little of the best ranch dressing on top and added some jalapeños and red onions and *chefs kiss* 10/10 - perfection. Overall the restaurant is a bit smaller and was crowded but the place is managed well and staffed even better. Heading back to KY on I-75 yesterday and decided to stop for lunch. Stumbled upon Universal Pizza and so glad I did. I sat at the bar and had a beer while I decided what to have for lunch. I ordered The Big Bang pizza. It was one of the best pizzas I have had in awhile. Light crunchy and slightly chewy crust with plenty of toppings. The service was great and the staff were very friendly. I learned that have just been open a little over a year. They have a full bar and a glass wall that separates the dining area from the kitchen. You can watch them preparing the food. If you are local, definitely check this place out. If you are traveling, it's just off I-75, so I highly recommend stopping in. I have friends who go to Norris Lake a lot so I have already told them to put this place on their radar. read more

We placed a simple order for two pizza pies on a Tuesday and were quoted a 15-20 minute wait time, which seemed perfectly reasonable, for what appeared to be a slow day. To pass the time, we went to Walmart and returned about 27 minutes after the initial order was placed. Upon arriving, the staff at the front offered no greeting, no smile, and no sense of hospitality. Their demeanor made it clear that customers were more of an inconvenience than a priority. When I asked where to pick up my order, I was simply pointed toward the bar. I gave my name to the bartender, who also offered no greeting or acknowledgment beyond taking my name and money. At this point, I waited another 11 minutes (all verified with maps history). Meanwhile, my teenage kids were sitting in the car in the heat and humidity. I had turned the car off because I never expected a "15-20 minute" order to turn into a 37+ minute ordeal. I eventually had to leave just to restart the car so they wouldn't be sitting in unbearable conditions. When I returned, another employee asked for my name again, and only then, a few minutes later, was my order finally brought out. The most frustrating part? The restaurant was not busy. Staff members were standing around, and the hosts appeared more focused on their phones at times, than on the customers in front of them. As for the pizzas: the good news is they use real mozzarella and the sauce had good bold flavor. Unfortunately, that is where the positives end. Portions of both pizzas were missing cheese and toppings, and the crust was noticeably undercooked. After an excessive wait, poor service, and obvious lack of urgency, it is hard to understand how the food itself still missed the mark. For the high prices, this experience was nowhere near worth the price. My takeaway: save your money. Perhaps this was just an unusually bad day, but first impressions matter, and this one was terrible. When a business shows so little regard for customer service or the customer experience, it raises serious concerns about leadership and management. Employees typically reflect the standards of those who hire and lead them, and this experience said a lot. Quite honestly, unless management makes significant changes to its approach, I do not believe this business will last another year. It says a lot when my entire family would rather have Little Caesars, and for the same price, we could get six pizzas, instead of two here. First time we went was shortly after they opened. Was pretty good so we thought we would try it again. I was in the hospital the 1st week of July and my husband stopped and picked up a large pizza to share with me in my room. I should have eaten the hospital food; it would have been much better. BURNT beyond eatable. You could hammer nails with the crust it was so dry, hard and burnt. You could smell that it was burnt before opening the box. The nurse walked in my room and asked what was burning. That BURNT! The crust was black top and bottom. Why would your employees send that out? Bad management. So apparently, we did not learn our lesson, so I stopped on my way home from the hospital today and ordered a pizza to take home. Thought we would give them another chance. We live an hour from Universal pizza. I waited OVER 30 minutes for a to-go pizza. There were only 8 customers in the place, 4 of them were already eating when I got there. There were more employees than paying customers. The toppings on the Big Bang pizza were all in the middle of the pizza and nothing to edge but 3" or more of crust with no toppings. And the cut was crazy. One pizza only had 4 slices-2 small slices and 2 extra-large slices. The other pizza had 6 slices but 2 were so tiny that I've seen bigger food on a child menu. This place is out of this world! We are always searching for good gluten-free pizza, and this place is totally one of the best! The crust is great texture, the red sauce is the best we've ever had, and the toppings were tasty. The sausage is delicious! The house salad is tasty too. Our server was prompt and friendly. We really like this restaurant. This was our second trip and both times have been great. Friendly staff. First time, we had pizza and it was great. This time we split the BLT and Rocket Salad; both were very fresh and delicious. The BLT is like a gourmet sandwich as it has pesto and arugula which adds tons of flavor. My husband and I have both been to this restaurant several times and it has progressively gone down hill and we love the Aubreys chain! This visit, we were seated immediately as the restaurant was not busy and had several open tables with no wait. We continued to sit at our table for almost 15 minutes without anyone acknowledging us (because the back window is glass, we noticed a few servers walking around including ours who was on her cell phone.) My husband finally got up to ask the host staff if they had forgotten us. A few moments later our waitress came and stood beside us but never introduced herself. We ordered our food and drinks all together as it had been 20 ish minutes at this point. We had two pizzas, salad, wings, and spaghetti. Was very impressed with the restaurant, a lot of options for pizzas and very creative with the names of the pizzas. The staff was very friendly, and the service was great. My wife and I split a 12-inch Supernova pizza (which is a traditional pepperoni, mushroom, sausage, onion, and green pepper) and shared a rocket salad (which was awesome). They also have the options of build your own pizza and calzones, as well as gluten free options, along with appetizers, and a few sandwiches (including a meatball hoagie). We also didn't realize until we walked in that they have a full bar and several beers on tap. First off I got a wonderful greeting when I walked in. I was definitely confused at where to go initially. They're making pizza behind a glass enclosure and there's not a clear hostess stand. The wings are really good. Got the garlic Parmesan and the flavor was fire! The pizza was ok. The toppings are really fresh, but there's something lacking in the sauce. seating was quick, waitress was punctual; however, don't know if the chicken wings come from tractor supply direct or if they are home grown and brought to the restaurant for slaughtering. Patron brought in a box of chickens from tractor supply and paraded them to the staff. Kitchen staff and barmaid handled the chickens, and afterwards, no hand washing. Overall, kitchen staff did not wash hands, nor did they wear gloves or have a utensil between their hands and ready-to-eat food. No hair net covering hair over 1/4 inch in length. The food was great, the fried pickles were so good. Our waitress was SO slow. We had to tell her we had not even gotten our drink order taken, after we watched her take 2 orders of tables who walked in after us. I had to ask for a refill after being empty for 10 minutes, she brought me one after another 10 minutes. We were in a slight rush once she had been so slow with everything, we told her kindly "we need the check because we have somewhere we have to be." She took another 20. minutes. bringing the check, we saw her just standing in the back. Then when she finally brought it, we told her "WE HAVE TO GO" and she said okay, continued to take her time and go around and did atleast 5 other things before even running the card. I have actually never had a server with less urgency to perform a good job. I heard another table (that was there before US), tell the waitress "we haven't even gotten our food yet" While 3 other tables already ate. I've lived in Clinton for four years, and this is honestly not only the best pizza I've had here, but the best restaurant I've been to. They had the best pizza in the area and the service was great. I asked for thin slice, which they did not usually offer. They were willing to accommodate me and were able to stretch out the 12 inch pizza to a 14 inch. I ordered take out so I can not comment on the ambiance, but I will be dinning in there very soon as it looked like a very clean establishment. read more
