Where is courtesy, respect and good customer service?? The mail delivery is completely unacceptable; items placed in the outgoing box take weeks to arrive at destinations as close as 23 miles away. Furthermore, they seem to selectively filter what mail they actually deliver. Junk mail is clearly prioritized and arrives without issue, yet official government mail is frequently returned to the sender without justification. It is incredibly frustrating dealing with this location, and the poor management and lack of professionalism are completely unacceptable for a public service.

This is an ongoing issue with no resolution in sight. I am now being told that I have to come to the post office to get my packages. I was also told by my congressman's office that I should purchase a PO Box, which is an unacceptable solution and I told them as much. As a taxpayer, I have the right to receive my mail on a consistent and regular basis. I will not give up. I am continuing to voice my concerns until something is done. I usually use Click-N-Ship and print my labels at USPS.com and visit this location to have the package scanned so the recipient can see their package has been accepted when they track it. This location is my favorite for this reason, usually the Mesquite location on Grubbs is filled with other customers and obtaining a receipt for the reason stated before turns into a long wait in a line of 15+ people. The Dallas location on Tom Landry is nice because they are open until 10PM on weekdays and 8PM Saturdays and 6PM Sundays, which is king to be able to have packages scanned in on a Sunday and even late evenings on the weekdays, but that location is quite the commute. So this location is my go to for these reasons.

Seriously, you have to go in person and most places want you to make an appointment and/or take off work. The Mesquite USPS is one of the only places that takes walk-ins on a Saturday AND takes photos on site. I called ahead and I'm glad I did becuase there's some things you should know. 1)There is a sign in sheet and they yank it at noon. Everyone on the list will be served. The whole she-bang shuts down around 2ish. 2)They do have a copy machine and photo machine there so you do not have to make umpteen billion copies of your drivers license trying to get both the front and back on the same sheet of paper. 3) Bring a book, sweater and snacks. You will be there a minimum of two hours. They two folks working the passport line were nice and worked really fast, it just takes a little bit. We were getting passports for myself and the munchkin. Note--KIDS UNDER 16 REQUIRE BOTH PARENTS TO BE THERE TO GET A PASSPORT. She will be doing mission work in the Domincan Republic this summer unless I freak out and say she can't go becuase the island is unstable. Either way, we will both have passports.

Priority mail packages left before 5PM routinely are not processed the same day. Tracking number 9405550105495024124913 was droppd off at 4:40PM on April 22 and was not scanned that evening. Priority mail should be processed the same day if dropped off before 5PM. Calling the Post Office number only gets the phone to ring many times and then the call is disconected. The Postmaster will not answer or return calls when complaints are filed with the USPS website.
