Absolutely terrible. By far some of the most unorganized, ignorant people I have had to deal with. My apartment mailbox has been broken for a few days and was told to reach out to USPS to fix this issue. I put in a service request to have it fixed, they said they would send someone out to fix my mailbox and hold mail until then. I step into the post office a few days later for an update on my service request, asking if they had my packages/mail as I have had things marked as delivered in my mailbox since they told me they said they were going to hold my mail. The lady (albeit I understand she is probably overworked and stressed out) tells me that the carrier had never been holding my mail (despite another employee telling me she was going to tell the carrier to hold my mail) and that the mailbox was fixed. THEY NEVER SENT OUT ANYONE TO FIX MY MAILBOX AND HAVE BEEN DELIVERING MAIL TO A BROKEN MAILBOX. All of my packages have been stolen because of their negligence to this issue. I am rightfully frustrated and am going to be filing a formal complaint against this post office. read more

I don't have many nice things to say about this USPS location. It's a nightmare to get to because it is located on one of the busiest streets in the Seven Cities (Battlefield Blvd). If you're coming from I-64/Military Hwy and decide to stop here, good luck making that U-turn at Battlefield & Volvo! I don't care much about how it looks because I'm used to visiting some real beat up/rundown local post offices. To be honest, this venue doesn't look that bad. I've seen worse. The issue I have is the people who work there, particularly Clerk 27. Her poor attitude screamed, "I hate this place. I don't want to be here," and she didn't like that I wasn't "prepared" with my package. I was returning a purchased item and was provided a free return shipping label. I came in with the item in its original shipping package, and the label, which I printed at my office (I no longer own a personal printer). She mumbled something about the label, and I replied, "Sorry, I didn't have anything to attach the label." Clerk 27: "Yeah, that's what I said. You need to attach the label." It was the tone that got me, but I simply apologized again. Then I mentioned to her that the package wasn't sealed. At the Norfolk P.O., they're cool with providing BOTH the plastic shipping label adhesive to attach to the package, AND they automatically will tape the package shut. In this instance, after I told Clerk 27 that the package wasn't sealed, she emphatically replied, "You need to have this sealed already when you bring it in. We don't do that, but this one time, I will." Again, it was the tone that got to me. Yet again, I apologized and thanked her. The worst part about this transaction - as I was walking away, Clerk 27 muttered something under her breath. I know it was derogatory, but I just let it go and kept walking. I know it sucks to engage with all sorts of characters every day, five days a week. And I'm completely on board with standing your ground to difficult customers. But when dealing with people who are simply going about their day and want nothing more than to complete their chores and tasks, being an a-hole because they don't know anything about your job's policies and procedures is not the move. Don't be a jerk. I'm glad I don't visit the post office much. Even though this post office is near my office, I don't want to come back. I'd rather wait until a Saturday morning to conduct my business at a Norfolk post office. The irony here is that you'd think it'd be vice versa. But yeah, I'd rather go to a Norfolk post office than a Chesapeake one. JV read more

Came into the post office in the last hour and there was a customer at the counter that was getting very upset about some money dispute. He was yelling at the clerk Reggie and called the police about the situation. Not what I was expecting when I walked in, but Reggie stayed extremely polite and professional the entire time. Can't imagine being in his shoes but he definitely deserves a raise for his unmatched professionalism. read more

One of the worst post office I have ever been. For whatever reason they decided to hold my package at their location. When I go to pick up my package, no one can find it. How is that possible? And now I have to wait for the courier to re-ship my package couldn't make this up. read more

The worst post office I have ever been to. You will be waiting forever even if you're the only person there. The workers are extremely rude for no reason and so unhelpful. I am a nurse and when one of the workers noticed a nurse shirt I was wearing he said "you ain't no nurse!". Like...why? Why even say anything if you're just gonna be rude? I told him, "yes I am! I've been a nurse for what feels like forever...can you not see my dead eyes from a career in healthcare that has sucked away my will to live?!" Also, they never ever answer their phone so you have to go in for any questions on missing packages or mail issues (and there will be mail issues). read more

Post office itself is great. It has one self-serve machine that lets you weigh your package, print your postage and pay for it all using your credit or debit card. The whole process is easy, but it's not all that quick: It takes approximately 10 screen taps to get though all the questions it asks you regarding size of the package, insurance, postage label size, zip code entry, etc. It's not that big of a deal unless there is a line behind you, and if there is, you can almost feel the collective "sigh" that happens when you have multiple packages to weigh. Ironically, if I would have waited for one of the four human postal workers to assist me--even though I was 12th in line--it would have taken me about the same amount of time to complete my transaction. So, why the 3-stars? Answer: PARKING. Every time I've been there, it's always been a nail biter pulling in and out of a parking place as people put their vehicle in reverse and pull out not realizing the vehicle opposite them in the second row is pulling out as well. I use this post office simply because it's close to my house. It could have a better, more efficient layout. There's only one machine to weigh packages and post your packages yourself. The lines are usually very long since there's only 3 stations. The last time I used the parcel slot to drop off a pachage, it must have been full on the other side because I was unable to push the package through. read more

Typical USPS office but designed much differently than others I've been too. Huge interior space but only 3 stations to help people. Poor lay out. People are friendly and they offer all services. Clean, bright and modern. read more

This is by far the best USPS office. They have friendly and officiant customer service with English speaking workers. There are never any long lines here. They are open early and have great selection of necessary packing materials. It's been a pleasure coming here for all my mailing needs or to pick up a package. I love my local post office! I rarely ever go inside, but I had to pick up a package this time. The place was busy, but there was a guy trying to expedite the process by getting what you needed ahead of time before you could be rung up. It definitely helped! My transaction was a lot more difficult than I thought it would be since it was COD, but after going thru all the registers, I got to one that was patient enough to deal with it. Post Office itself is alright, but my mail carrier is the absolute worst. I get my neighbors mail 4 out of 5 times a week, either the neighbor to the right or left of me. He stuffs oversize envelopes that clearly state do not bend into the mailbox, damaging the contents of which Ive had to return at my expense. He refuses to get his lazy butt out of the truck if for some reason there is a business or landscape company vehicle within 10 ft of my mailbox, then marks the package as "NO ACCESS". I have had packages show up as delivered online and never show up at the house, and when I call they have to have him come back because he forgot to drop it off..... but somehow marked it as delivered. read more

It's a typical US Post Office with polite staff (a little slow at times...ok most the time) and a building that's well kept in the inside but the outside is in of need maintenance. There's plenty of PO Boxes, packing materials and a self service weigh and ship area but even with these +'s it's still only an A-OK post office. 3 Stars read more

The Battlefield PO for 23322 has to be the worst PO in the state, if not the country. Mail, when it is delivered at all, is usually between 6 - 7 PM. On many days, even if you have mail in your box and the flag up, the 'carrier' seems to just quit whenever the mood strikes and mail is not delivered or picked up. They seem to have mail trucks working for Amazon racing through the neighborhood, and I mean racing, at all hours of the day. I wonder if that has now become a priority over mail delivery/pickup. The PO and the Amazon delivery person (in an official postal 'service' vehicle) may receive more in pay from Amazon, thus making it more personally profitable to ignore their core reason for existing while they pad their wallets and then have the audacity to beg for govt. subsidies (read taxpayer dollars) The best thing that could happen to Mail 'Service' IMO is to abolish the PO and get rid of the employees - turn the whole operation over to a private company and start over. read more

I just met the rudest, angriest, most arrogant person I have met in my life. And I a have met a lot of people in 71 years. Unfortunately she is also my mail carrier. I saw her adding mail to our mail boxes so I stopped and looked in my box. I immediately got a gruff "What are you doing". I told her that I was checking my box and with that same I'll cut your throat style voice she informed me in no uncertain terms I was not allowed near my box until she had finished her work. Just out of curiosity asked if that was a law or just her rule. When she had finished with my section and had closed it up and locked it I again approached my box and she again told me to wait until she had shut and locked all of the boxes. After she finished and closed up everything I asked her if I could get my mail. Twice. She refused to answer me. That was all I could take and I spouted off and she threatened to not deliver my mail anymore. If she hates her job that much she should find employment where she doesn't meet the general public. read more

Great Post Office. Everyone is always polite and helpful. They are almost always busy, but they do their best to keep the line moving and provide good customer service. They even have an area where you can weigh and ship your own stuff if you are comfortable doing that. read more

I've been going to this post office for 10 plus years, one of the best post offices ever. Not only are the employees friendly, but they always remain calm even if the line is out the door. I try my best not to go to any other locations. Very big and very clean, plenty of parking outside as well. The man named William got mad when I said excuse me and asked him where their tape was. That's his job ? To know where the products are and make sure they are being purchased ? And I told him don't talk to me like that and he leaned over and put his finger in my face and said I don't have to take shit from you.
