This is a pretty good lounge by Dulles standards (but you can't compare it to an emirates lounge in Dubai or other international lounges). You do have to take an elevator down to get to it on terminal D, but it is fairly spacious and clean. It also has a quiet business center in case you want to work or take a private phone call. The food is plentiful with a few varieties and this place does tend to get pretty busy - although I did not have trouble finding a place to sit.

Love how the work area is set up and you can get work done without having to worry about other people being there. The selection of food was very minimal, they do have a full bar. The seats were very comfortable.

Very rarely do you think you should be reviewing airport lounges. But there are some that stand out…read moreand Etihad is that ONE. Whether or not you have a membership, they greet you warmly and explain what the cost is and the membership benefits are. Once you check in, they ask if you've been in the lounge before and explain the process of ordering amenities, etc. The design of the lounge itself is breathtaking with clear views of the air field and two levels to choose seating from. When you make your way to the bar you're warmly greeted by the amazing trio Angie, Erica, and Freedom. Hard-working lovely ladies that really make the experience 10x better. The lounge is very clean and the food bar has delicious meals that are fresh and refreshing. Overall a great experience before your next flight. Gracias Etihad Lounge for a phenomenal experience!

After experiencing the chase sapphire lounge in Boston, I have been itching to visit another one…read more Unfortunately, this was did not compare. It is inferior in every way. It is smaller, has less food options, only one shower, only 4 bathroom stalls, and a long wait if you happen upon it during a busy time. Their signature burger was not good here - dry, overcooked, no flavor. When I had it in Boston, it was pretty good, so super disappointing. The service was the same, attentive and professional. Having said all this, it is still much better than most airport lounges in the United States. The salmon and rice they served on the buffet line was good, so I filled up in that. The location is fairly convenient - in A. You can walk from B. It's next to where you'd enter from the airport tram (if coming from C) and when you get off the escalator from the airport shuttle (if coming from D).

I was at the Dulles Airport on May 9th via United Airlines. The lounge nearest me is a "United…read moreClub" in the D gates. Upon seeing my boarding pass, the staff informed me that we qualify to visit the Polaris Lounge instead, a 5 to 8 minutes' walk away, near Gate C17. I asked which will be less crowded. She said they are both crowded, but the Polaris is much nicer. We decided to hoof it over to the Polaris since it's supposed to be a big deal, ignoring the fact that we probably have 45 minutes only to stay there. She wasn't kidding. The place was packed. It was very difficult to get a pair of seats, and we basically were stalkers waiting for folks to leave. Meanwhile, we were sweating from the walk and from the many people inside the lounge. After finally having seats, we looked at the food and drinks selection. I have to admit the food selection is impressive. They have a dining section that is full table service. Then there is a buffet section with good selection of proteins and produce in addition to the usual snacks. I was too hot to be hungry by then and chose only several cocktail prawns plus a few asparagus stalks. After a cold soda with ice from the bar, it was time to leave. There was also a line to wait for the bathroom. Next time, we won't fancy a Polaris Lounge when we don't have the time to stay.

If I had an option for minus score below zero, they would win hands down…read more This is a horrible club. They have a full kitchen yet the eggs looked like those you get out of instant. It's big the club, but one location for food options which is quite tiny. I never knew you could get a bagel made for a child. I'm very confident this was sitting somewhere for a bit of time because without toasting it, you would bust some teeth. It was hard. That scream not even in this realm fresh. I'm wagering that other bread items, oh for those seeking danish or muffins, not a chance that's available. On the coffee side why does United ignore a growing segment of the population that either has a dairy allergy, lactose intolerant or vegan? Ever heard of almond, oat or soy milk? What about those little french vanilla cup things? Clearly who ever oversees this club must be the same dolt who oversees the one in Phoenix because they follow the similar path of cream, 50-50 or whole milk. You do get a sippy like plastic cup for the kiddos, oh I mean for adults to drink your soda out of the machine. Finally with all the germ rise and an increase in norovirus and ongoing yuckiness, how about sanitizer like so many biz lounges have everywhere even on the wall? Don't fret though. Because if you love oranges you are in luck. They also use them for decoration.

This is definitely a lounge where you should expect only the basics and not much more. When I arrived, the food selection was very limited and unfortunately they had already run out of several items and did not restock during my visit. The only things available were slices of bread, oatmeal, grapes, bananas, apples, and pineapple, which felt pretty underwhelming for a lounge. The espresso machines were also out of milk and needed service, so specialty coffee wasn't really an option either. The dining area itself was small and felt cramped, especially during busy times. On the plus side, there was plenty of seating throughout the lounge, but the overall layout felt awkward and outdated. The furniture looks old and the whole space could really use a refresh. The bathrooms were another weak point -- they looked worn down, had only a few stalls, and definitely seemed like they were due for repairs or renovation. One positive note: the cleaning staff did a great job. Tables were cleared quickly and used plates were removed regularly, which helped keep the space from feeling messy even when it was crowded. Overall, this lounge works if you just need a place to sit, charge your phone, and grab a quick snack, but don't expect a premium lounge experience. It really feels like this location is overdue for an update.
