The crew on flight UA729 Newark to Savannah were taking a very delayed plane of people but were extremely professional and kind. They deserve an award as it was not a great situation with multiple gate changes etc but the flight crew was impressive. I would fly United all the time if this was the crew ! This especially includes the Pilot I met , and the female flight attendant. Both were so nice ! I wish I had caught both of their their names. KUDOS. read more

These check in counter at UNITED should be issuing US a pay check! The lazy reps are happy to send you at the kiosk so if all you need them there is to load the baggage then fire them and get men to just toast the luggage on the belt. Additionally, I asked to have my ticket printed and they were in a hurry to send me back to the kiosk and what's worst! In front of me your employee said to the other works "she's mad you'll and kept saying it and sarcastically said to me "Merry Xmas" your crew is an embarrassment to the customer service business. Very unprofessional and should be behind an area that doesn't face clients! I honestly detest your airline and hope that you cease to exist in the airlines business. Our UA flight experience was fine flying out of Newark NJ to Savannah, GA. I have the UA app on my phone and it is kept up to date. They even sent me a text when our departing gate changed so we weren't running last minute to catch our flight. Upon boarding we were given sanitizing wipes. Seats in economy are sufficient and seat belts are good for average to plus size customers. Flight attendants were helpful and friendly enough. Our trip back from Savannah to Newark was delayed about an hour and a half--first due to another flight deplaning from our gate at the same exact time we should've been boarding. Then again after we boarded--we were told there were "data issues." Thankfully this was our flight home and we didn't need a connecting flight going anyplace else or we may have been screwed. I would fly with United again. read more

My flight is late from Savannah because they oversold the flight and now we are delayed until someone accepts an offer. Will likely miss my connection. Now we are sitting here on the plane and they say that they don't have enough help! Now they are shuffling people around on the airplane. Who shuffles people around when a flight is delayed? Horrendous customer service at United: my flight was cancelled by United a few hours prior to my scheduled departure on the way in. I was advised by e-mail around 10:00 p.m.. for the first flight in the morning. No apologies. It took around four hours to cancel last minute hotel room, rental car, etc. with potential significant costs. United said in their e-mail they will be not responsible for any incurred costs due to their forced rescheduling. Concerning the rebooking the next day, no flights were offered from my airport. Moreover, I paid for a direct flight from a given airport and United will only suggest indirect flights from other airports with long lay-overs. United e-mail said no reimbursements, no shuttles between the various airports, etc. I had to delay my flight an additional day. I flew on Valentine's Day. I had to changed all my scheduled plans involving various stakeholders with a short notice. On the way back, customers were told one hour prior to departure the flight was delayed at an undetermined hour tonight "because of the wind". United will let us know "around 6:00 p.m. when the flight will arrive after they will talk with the pilot" at what time we may depart tonight. The staff was impersonal. No apologies. From now on, I will do my utmost to avoid United. I usually fly American, which is on-time consistently. read more

This has to be one of the WORST airlines I have ever flown with! The issues started early and only continued from there. First, my fiancé wanted to mover her work flight from 7:00am to 4:30pm. After going over it with her in depth they explained that the only way for this to be accomplished was for her to pay $75. Whatever, we're not going to do that because it's ridiculous.... then, the same "customer service rep" has the audacity to tell her that her flight is overbooked so if she want's she can be bumped from her flight for a voucher. So essentially, when she asked to change her flight United told her we can do that but you have to pay us another $75 then, in the same breath, told her they would pay her to move her flight... disgusting. Then, after not moving her flight and driving her to Savannah at 4:00am I return at 2:30pm to catch my own flight back to Chicago. At 4pm I am alerted that there is a "storm" in chicago and that my flight is now delayed to 7:23pm. That last all of 3 seconds in till they tell me the 7:23pm is canceled and the next flight is 10:55pm. All is well, I am a very good sport despite the fact that I will not land till 12:20am and I HAVE to be at work at 5am. Still, all is well. I see the absolute hell the gate agents are going through trying to accommodate people with connecting flights. Not wanting to add any displeasure to their livesI Simply state that I will do whatever (sleep on the ground for the next 6 hours waiting for my new flight) but would just like to be accommodated or my time. I was sent to another desk promising results where I spoke to a young 30 something that told me there is nothing he would do to assist for any of my inconvenience. I was kind and only asked that I be compensated for my Inconvenience (especially considering the few hours in the morning I would be late to work would certainly cost me thousands of dollars). I was kindly told to GO FUCK MYSELF "a weather delay is your problem" and when I asked for the gate attendant who had been SO rude he handed me a card to contact customer service. So, not wanting to cause a scene I grabbed the card and went back to my seat to call customer service. Not till I get back do I realize that he handed me a blank baggage card! I walked right back up to the desk to ask for a first/last name or employee number and got a baggage card with "Aaron SAV" on it. So zero identifying information for those terrible customer service rep. In full disclosure I run travel for 10 reps for an exclusive trading firm. My fiancé runs the internal auditing desk for a publicly traded company with 25K+ employees. We had an appalling experience with United at this airport. The flight that we were waiting for bags for came in after 10 PM, so the airport staff would be limited as we soon would find out. The conveyor belt stopped when there were still plenty of people around so it didn't even occur to me that that was the end of baggage service for the flight. Soon afterward a young man in a safety vest came over and unloaded all of the remaining bags off of the conveyor belt. After doing that he then took off his safety vest and went over and unlocked the United baggage claim office. He sat behind the computer and then started the process of dealing with a long line of angry customers. I felt really bad for him because it wasn't his fault that so many people were without bags, but many were taking out their frustrations on him. He informed us that the next flight in from the area where the bag was was 1 PM the next day. That meant we wouldn't be getting our bag until the afternoon of the next day. He took our address information and cell phone number. The next day we got a text message update with a tracking number and instructions to go to United.com/bagtrack in order to see the status of our claim. When you go to the website it says "To display information about your delayed bag, enter your 10-character file reference in the first box below, your last name in the second box and click the Continue button". They show you what you should enter in the field: "For example: IAH12345M". The tracking number that we were texted was in the exact same format as that example. Look at it closely. It only has nine characters but the website is saying to enter your 10 character tracking number. Sure enough when we entered it we got an error back. So we had no way to electronically track the status of the bag. Keep in mind that this is supposed to be the first day of vacation where we should be exploring shops, trying new restaurants, and just enjoying Savannah. We tried calling United multiple times. The first time after 25 minutes waiting to talk to someone we had to hang up to go eat lunch. The second time after 20 minutes we were disconnected. It added so much frustration and exasperation to have to be dealing with this. The text message that we received at 11 AM was the first and last text message update, even though the text message said that we would be receiving updates every six hours. Finally after 8 PM we were able to get through on the phone to what I assume was an overseas call center. We had a huge communication problem with the agent. Even though we were speaking the tracking number by saying S as in Sam, A as in apple, V as in Victor, etc. the agent still kept screwing up reading it back to us. Finally we got frustrated and asked for a supervisor. Then all of a sudden he was able to pull up our information and confirm that our bag was still scheduled to be delivered that night. Around 9 PM our bag finally showed up. I understand that delays can happen, and they had many other bags to deliver besides ours. That's not what I have issue with. If there would have been a sensible, functioning system that would let us know the status of our claim it wouldn't have been a big deal. Because we had no idea when, or even if our bag was being delivered it was a huge inconvenience. Do you dare go far away from the address where the bag is being delivered for dinner? Do we drive to the airport to try and talk to someone to get an update? Do we buy clothes and toiletries to replace the ones in the suitcase? If we had even a general idea of what was happening a lot of those questions would be answered. I would be extremely hesitant to fly United after this fiasco. read more

Who takes off without making sure that there's a full tank of gas? Apparently United does. I always get non-stop flights because I hate landing and taking off. But on our way from California to Florida we had to stop in Georgia to refill. We're still waiting to take off again. They have effectively made the plane ride over 7 hours instead of 4.5 and they still are not feeding us. read more

First time on United from Savannah to Newark. I usually fly coast to coast and use Southwest which I highly recommend. I sat in the last aisle seat at rear of plane and knew enough to keep my elbow in. However, the flight attendant pushed past my shoulder enough so that a polite person would have said "excuse me". He did not. Additionally, I was never told that the beverage cart was coming through. Any new flyer or a person not paying attention would have been hit by it. On top of this two attendants in the galley behind me spoke to each other so loudly, I could not read in peace. I teach and am usually able to tune out unwanted conversations, but these two were extremely loud! I was offered a cookie and something to drink. Any other snacks had to be purchased. I am also not used to paying baggage fees, though I am not complaining about that. I will avoid this airline in the future. read more

Direct flight from Savannah,GA to Washington Dulles. Suppose to depart at 2:30pm but didn't leave gate (the first time) until 5:20pm. Backed away from gate and identified an issue with lavatory so back to gate and call to maintenance. Have no idea at this point how long it will be before this Express 1 hour 45minute direct flight will take off but delayed by 3 hours and 15 minutes so far. How do they get away with this? read more
