Now THIS is how it's done. Surprised to be the first reviewer for these guys. Since I moved into my…read morehouse 6 years ago, replacing the entry door has been the looming project that never made it past the planning stages. This is partly due to the door being a 7' door which is an odd size, replacement options are limited and hard to find. The other factor is that, being a handy man, I needed someone who I felt was capable of doing the job better than me. It was also important that whoever I hired would put the care into the job that I would. I had several contractors scope the job and I either didn't get the impression they knew what they were doing or they were so far beyond my budget it was ridiculous There are a TON of crappy contractors out there, unfortunately I've hired many of them. Brewster Remodeling "nailed" it. Paul scoped out the job and I was impressed with his professionalism, knowledge and fair pricing, he's also a really nice and funny guy. We talked about framing down the raw opening so I could get a 6' 8" door and Paul was all over it, no problem at all. Over a few weeks of back and forth phone calls regarding part numbers for the doors etc, we got the doors ordered and set up a date for the install. They were here on-time, worked fast and were ridiculously clean throughout the entire install, I mean my steps and my foyer were cleaner than they've ever been. They finished up in a day and a half and I couldn't be happier with the finished product. They did a fantastic job and I'll certainly be hiring them again in the future. Brewster Remodeling is professional, clean, quick, smart, courteous and conscious of quality. As Paul said during the estimate "we keep the overhead low and the quality high". Nice work.

We went to Tile in Style when we were renovating our bathroom on the recommendation of our…read morecontractor. He had sent lots of his clients there with good results. With the help of Inga, the owner, I found what we wanted, and told Inga I would order closer to the date of our project. We chose not to order all of the hardware and plumbing needs for the bathroom (shower head, fan light, etc) as it seemed very expensive and our contractor said we could get nice stuff at Lowe's. Inga called me several times, and wrote me several emails pressuring me to order everything as she said it was in stock and we did not want to chance the tile not being available. I told her we did not want the hardware, so she sent me a "discounted" price, which still came out more than what we paid at Lowe's. We did order the tile in advance and had it delivered. It turns out we had two issues that Inga refused to deal with. 1. We had a total of 6 boxes of extra, unopened tiles (2 diff kinds) that we wanted to return for a refund. She insisted that special orders are not returnable, no matter what. When I retorted that she had told me it was all in stock so therefore not a special order, she gave me a whole long explanation and still refused to accept 4 unopened boxes of the shower wall tiles that is very expensive. 2. When our contractor opened the mosaic tile for the shower floor, he was very upset to see that the paper backing was stuck to all the tile sheets and he had to spend a lot of time scrubbing them off. I wrote Inga about this and asked again for a refund for the 2 boxes of mosaic tiles we were not opening or using and that our contractor had never had these problems anywhere else. She refused again, explaining why the paper was stuck on, which doesn't help us! I wrote back explaining that I would let her re-think her decision and if by Monday she had not decided to accept the extra tile back and give us a refund then I would make sure I gave her terrible reviews everywhere I could, tell all my friends to boycott her store, and I would speak with an attorney about taking her to small claims court. Her email response was that she would exchange any unopened mosaic tile with the paper on the back (too late for that for us), but not refund anything, and I should stop harassing her! My contractor plans on never sending her business again. I plan on reporting them to the BBB and possibly taking her to small claims court. I have never had worse service from a business before! Thankfully we love our contractor and the bathroom will look great, even if we are out a LOT of money.

You are very fortunate." We could not agree more. BER transformed our 130-year-old home with extraordinary skill and care. They stripped the old shingles and clapboards, applied multiple layers of protective barrier to the original walls, and installed new state-of-the-art composite clapboards and cedar shingles. The bottom course of shingles was individually notched to replicate the original detail, and the dentil molding was reconstructed by hand. The team also completely rebuilt our bays in PVC that, once painted, is indistinguishable from wood. Every line, corner, and transition is precise. They worked through extraordinary conditions--from 10-degree winter days to 100-degree summer heat--without ever compromising their focus, craftsmanship, or attention to detail. Joe Danz oversaw the project closely from start to finish. He communicated warmly and consistently with the three homeowners in our building, accommodated additional requests fairly, and remained committed to the work until every detail was right. Our neighbors--including two architects--stopped to admire the workmanship as the project progressed.
