Unique Restoration performed a reconstruction of the ceiling in our family room and also did wall/flooring repairs in our master bedroom for damage from a water leak in our shower. The process with the insurance company and with another construction company had been arduous and left us very dissatisfied. When we were assigned Unique's services by the insurance company it was a breath of fresh air. They were very responsive and professional during the entire process. This is the worst company I have ever dealt with, from start to finish, nothing but problems. Worse than the problems, they lied about everything. Our project was supposed to be 37 days of work, that turned into 6 months. They tried to scam us on our cabinets, we clearly asked for and paid for maple wood cabinets, they tried to give me particleboard cabinets and doors with a veneer that looks like maple wood... not only did I have to fight for them to remove them, but I had to pay more to get what I originally wanted and was contracted to get. Their excuse, "this is how cabinets are made now, they don't make real wood doors and plywood boxes anymore." They replaced 2 windows and finished the inside seal, but left the outside untouched. I guess I better finish it before water gets into the house. We paid the 50% we owed to start the project up front, half way through the project, at our most vulnerable time, they demanded more money or else they would not finish the project, we paid, nothing happened for 2 more weeks (literally no work and no communications). After 2 weeks pass, we get another text message saying they again want more money or else they will not complete the job!!! The project finally comes to an end, they want final payment and we gave it to them. They left without cleaning up their construction mess: plywood, cut and broken tiles, used tools, etc.... they even left me to call the dumpster company and have it removed from my property. Not a word from them. World's dumbest and worst company. read more

DO NOT do business with this company unless you want to be charged an insane amount of money for repairs. These same people charged me $1900 to put a temporary tarp and dry out a small area of our rug in our sun room after a roof leak that did not even prevent it from leaking further. These same people quoted me 15,000 dollars to replace a section of my roof not even my hole roof. I was definitely unaware of the overcharging/ false pricing this company was giving until I reached out to another roofing company who quoted me just 3000 to repair my roof. 15,000 compared to 3,000 im definitely looking in to filing a consumer complaint for the charge I received on the "repairs". Do your research and get multiple estimates guys people really out here over overcharging. For entire roof the national average is around $8,000, with most people spending in the range of $5,500 to $11,000. The two largest variables you'll deal with on a job like this are the square footage of your home (and thus, your roof), and the type of roofing material you choose. We had a devastating fire in our garage on January 7th of this year. We had to move out of our home while the restoration work could be done. We chose Unique because I had previously used them three years ago when I had a pipe break causing water damage. Oscar was our project manager for both projects. He was easy to work with. Kept me updated throughout the whole process. Answered my questions thoroughly. He beat his estimate of completion of this current project by a few months! Our 3-year old water heater malfunctioned and leaked, creating water and mold damage in one corner of our house. After consulting with our homeowner's insurance, Unique Restoration was contracted to do the work on our house. Work was started around June 12th. Plastic barriers were put in place to isolate that section of the house - ok, good. Removed the damage walls and place a dehumidifier to dry up the area - ok. Waited a week to insure that the area was dry - ok, understandable. 2nd inspection - wall is dry. Was told that the next step was that the contractors would put in the insulation, moisture barriers and drywall, then paint the new wall - ok. We were told by the GM of Unique Restoration (Chris), that they had other higher-priority projects in Vegas, so there may be a delay. Hmmm... ONE MONTH LATER, nothing has been done - Chris finally sends some workers to work on our house. Unfortunately, I had to send a family member over to supervise inside the house while I was at work, so I didn't get to see the mess that they were creating. Here's where it starts getting careless - the workers sent to finish the job cut the drywall INSIDE my garage, where I store a lot of my supplies and unused items. UGHHHH!!! Now, the whole inside of the garage looks like there was a snowstorm - thick layers of drywall dust everywhere! These fools even tracked the dust inside the house, on the rug and on my furniture. Careless is the keyword here - they didn't bother to cover any of my belongings, or to wear slip-on plastic booties when entering the house. Was told that the wall inside the laundry room also needed to be replaced, so all the appliances in the laundry had to be disconnected. At this point, I just want them to finish and get out. The guy that was sent here to finish up took his sweet time - he would come in at 10:00am then leave around noon. It was a full week before he reconnected the clothes dryer. The work was finally completed on July 24th - almost a month and a half after they started. Now, I have to throw away a lot of my stuff in the garage because there's just no way to remove all that drywall dust. Conclusion: Don't use these guys - it will cause you a lot of frustration, inconvenience and anger. If you are using them as a recommendation from your insurance company, insist on another restoration contractor. Look for someone with stellar reviews on Yelp or Angie's List. read more

We were referred to Unique Restoration by our insurance carrier after a water loss incident. Had I looked at the poor reviews we would have gone elsewhere. However, in this case I am happy that we did not, as Unique Restoration did a tremendous job. They did the job right and did not cut corners and were on courteous professional and on time. I don't write many reviews but was so impressed that I felt it important to set the record straight. I think Unique has taken steps to restore their reputation and it really showed on our renovation. Oscar was extremely helpful in providing the estimate and scope of work. We added to scope with some items we needed done on top of the insurance coverage and Oscar was very careful to divide the work appropriately and show us what we would have to pay out of pocket. He explained each task in detail and that allowed us to adjust the scope to our budget. Oscar was great to work with and kept in touch throughout the project. All of the team members were professional and skillful. I was very impressed seeing the walls get rebuilt by Jorge and Mario and the care taken to make them seamless and match up. Painting and tile work were all done with care and quality in mind by Sung and Moises. They took great effort to mask of areas while moving and covering items to protect them in the process. In the end they cleaned everything up and Oscar and I walked through and identified a punch list of items that needed attention by Juan, Victor and Clint. Juan and Victor also helped with the original tear down and other assorted tasks. They wasted no time in addressing all the items to my satisfaction and including several items that Oscar pointed out himself. The new guy Clint helped with some of the finish work and did great. I had water damage thanks to my upstairs neighbor I got my sons bathroom ceiling I call the insurance and they send their guys not just it's a BAD service been that( I had work in a similar company back in Texas I know the work process ) they come in they and break most of the ceiling some of the walls they took some of the insulation and I took se black mold that I ask a few times and they keep saying it's not black mold they never had all the necessary staff to do the job saying that there work vehicles were broken the GM come they second day to take a look and i also ask of the black mold and he also say it was not ( I have allergies so my eyes were irritated for the time they were here working and couldn't breath good I had to use a mouth mask to be in my house ) since they were breaking they ceiling they didn't cover the A/C vent and the insulation got all over I took video and pictures before during and after last they here they agree to come back at the end of the day and cover the ceiling to help the insulation to stay up They never show up I send emails to the insurance and they send a mold inspector and he told me in a second that it's black mold and all the job they did it was just half done ( they only things staying are the tub and toilet walls around the tub and behind the toilet and sing are going down not just all but getting the machine to clear the humility they chip the frame door off my sons bedroom they were using my water bucket and they crack they handle it's a I had to use a towel to cover the bottom of the bathroom door to keep the air and and all inside the bathroom I will not give any stars but to post I have to check 1 read more

I wish I could leave negative stars! It's been over a year, and we are still fighting with them. They broke items while packing us out and didn't tell us, we only knew because we found a piece of glass under a table. They broke our water faucet outside on a Friday and when we went to check on there work the yard was flooding! We called to report it to Chris and they waited till Monday to come fix it. They went into our yard and took our ladder because theirs was at another job!!! The parked in our yard multiple times (all of these things caught on our security cameras). They told us 4 weeks and it took 12 because they messed up one thing after another. We spent 3 months living in a hotel because of their mistakes! They missed all of their own deadlines! They did TERRIBLE work, damaged the floor in 2 rooms, and lost boxes of our belongings. When they packed us back in they delivered our belongings to our driveway and left! They have threatened to lean our house, if we do not pay, yet the bill includes lots of work they never even completed. After they have even received money from the insurance company! We had to fight to have an independent contractor come out and look at the "bill", they are charging for a closet system and crown molding that isn't even there, along with lots of other things. They cleaned out paint and texture buckets in our front yard and refuse to have it fixed. Chris Gilliam then bought us a large bottle of vodka and said "this is not a bribe" as I threatened to report them. The owners are just as bad as the workers. Unprofessional! We had water damage to our garage and entire kitchen this summer which really Impacted our lives. After dealing with the original contractor and taking our money to destroy the kitchen but never called back to finish the job, our insurance adjuster "recommended" Unique Restoration because they were a trusted contractor. Doug Wilson was fast to come over and take measurements in order to get the insurance reimbursement process going for us. A few short weeks later he comes to our home to present a final contract. Turns out he brought a general quote provided by the insurance with their letterhead and slapped a few pages in the back from his own company to make it a "contract". He clearly was not knowledgeable of his own contract because he wanted to charge us for additional work that was already included in the original quote sent to the insurance. That did not instill confidence in us and failed to show he had our best interest since he kept raving about how he works "closely" with our adjuster and tries to take her out to lunch. We have emailed him to provide us a copy of his own actual contract showing the breakdown of their material and labor costs to see why the final cost equates to the EXACT amount of what the insurance paid out down to the 11 cents!!!! After ignoring our calls and emails for a week we decided to restart the process and look for another licensed contractor. It is not fair to take people's money without justifying the cause and asking for another $1000 to sign the contract. Please do your homework first and don't feel obligated to sign even if they keep insisting they only get paid on commission! read more

This company is horrible. They still own me money for a blind they did not clean. They lost a most precious art piece. It took them o er 3 trips to find all my stuff in their storage. They brought me someone else's arm chair. They are not friendly. One worker kept coming on to me. Ewww. I had to make them put my molding back on since they were not going to do it. They refused to rehang my sconces. Some items were broken in their packing. And when they were tired of packing my things they just placed then inconveniently in other rooms. They sent in another tech to fix the work, took a few weeks but it wasn't much better. A few months later, cabinet doors are falling off. First I want to say I never leave reviews, but for this company I just had to. Back in July I had a major water leak in my house from my master bathroom all the way down into my kitchen. I called my home warranty and they sent someone to my home and they informed me what the deal was. They gave my information to a place called ERX (never ever ever ever use this company) needless to say they were not the company we needed to fix our home. I got a referral to Unique Restoration and it has been a great experience for such a horrible situation. Doug was so helpful through the whole process. I would call at bad times during the day and he'd answer, I would text him with questions he'd reply so quickly. I knew my house getting fixed wasn't going to happen over night, but I did ask for it to be done by 12/9/18 for my daughters 1st bday party. Doug promised it would be and he came through and my house has been done for about 2 weeks now and it's great to have a bathroom and kitchen working again. I'm still itemizing my items and will be posting my review shortly. At this point I have 4 pieces of designer glass/chrome pieces of furniture missing (of course, they didn't photograph these four furniture items but there's a glimpse of the coffee table in one of their overall photographs with everything pushed together so they could remove a designer sofa -- still wet with water from flood which they took immediately for the weight factor for insurance pay) a brand new Kohler faucet still in manufacturer's box (no big deal in comparison to my furniture!) that one of their workmen kept placing in a "throw away" pile in driveway. I removed it three (3) times out of the pile!! Two of their workmen were involved in my garage placing whatever they desired into the "throw away" pile. I stopped the job the following day -- unfortunately, with my house drenched in water and a different agreement the job resumed. The adjuster was no help as far as advice in this situation. I had a bad experience with this company from Day 1 of the pack out (trying to steal items) and the furniture they returned is banged, scratched and one of the sofas has rips in the fabric. It's a black exquisite, contemporary, fabric (special order) and had some fade due to all windows (tons of sunlight) but was in perfect, excellent, condition when they removed them. No one ever sat on them except during holidays. Insurance companies shouldn't send these type of companies to their clients' homes. Chubb Insurance should be rated horribly for sending this company to my home.
