First time dealing with a water heater leak that seeped into parts of our walls and floors. Dry tech was assigned to us by our home warranty and we are very thankful they chose a reliable company to complete the mitigation and reconstruction. Doug came to our home and assessed the damage in less than 48 hours and began the drying process. Because insurance was involved, it was the longest part of our process but Vanessa Rodriguez was so kind and helped with any questions I had because this is something I have never dealt with. I was able to call or email and she was always there to answer quickly. Will, he came every day to check on the drying process and also did the deconstruction. He was super polite and also very helpful with any questions I had. After insurance payment rolled through, scheduling for reconstruction happened quickly and was able to finish in 2 days! --although it wasn't the quickest process and frustrating to have multiple problems, I am happy to get our house back together and having nice people to help you is a plus, it literally makes you less aggravated and more patient when you have nice and understanding people on the other side of it. My home warranty insurance contracts with Dry Tech for dry wall/water damage repairs. I purchased my home in August of 2021 and in December my water heater started leaking. I was impressed with how responsive and professional Dry Tech remained throughout the whole process. The work done to repair the dry wall to my garage and bathroom is EXCEPTIONAL! Dry Tech has horrible customer service. I hired them because I had a leak in my bathroom shower. They demolished much more than I was expecting and did not put up plastic during the initial demolition on the other bathroom surfaces or the door leading out of the bathroom or into the bedroom. When I saw what was removed, I was shocked and then saddened that there was construction dust all over my bedroom. When I inquired about the removal, I was met with defensiveness and personal attacks. I would have appreciated regular updates throughout the demolition process and a more empathetic response to my questions and concerns. Regardless of who is right or wrong, as a company, you have to have good customer service, because there are many companies to choose from in this valley. I had a hot water explode and was given this company's information from my plumber. I went into this experience a novice and very naive. Edgar appears extremely knowledgeable and doesn't allow anyone questioning his motives or actions. The BAD is that he attempted to rip off my insurance company with what was equated to insurance fraud by trying to charge them for 10 hours of mitigation work, while it only took 6 hours. How do I know? Because I was there the entire time it took them. They were there by 930am, didn't get started until 10am, and were finished by 245/3pm. His company also attempted to extort money from my insurance companies for other services that he thought was needed, but was not according to mitigation standards. My insurance company had to cease contact with Edgar and could only continue business through Dry Tech Corporate office because he was so aggressive and abusive towards my insurance adjuster and claims agent. It got to the point that Edgar was trying to pin me against my insurance company, as the enemy, and wanted to charge me more than what was already completed or needed to be done. During the removal process of the flooring and dry wall of my home, they also cracked my entryway tile and covered it up, unbeknownst to me. After Dry Tech was paid for their job, my insurance company and I both ceased contact and further business with this company. PLEASE be very wary of this company and their pushy and deceitful practices. Once played my wife and I off each other on different lines without us knowing. No joke. For them to cause a rift in my relationship is unforgivable. Start to finish was a dog year. Service people (apart from the first guy) had no business cards - obviously subcontractors - and spoke very little English. I would like to see their E-Verify. Good news. Very good end result. I can do dry wall but nowhere near as good as these guys. My tenant, (which hasn't been the best at maintaining my property) surprisingly called and told me that the kitchen cabinet under the sink is toast. I had my water heater start leaking and it went out. I had my home warranty refer me to a company to get a new water heater and they referred me to Dry Tech Restoration. Im a new home owner and didn't know the damage a water heater could cause. Karl showed up and explained to me what his job was showed me his tools and camera that showed some water damage in my garage. He then waited with me while I called my home owners insurance and opened a claim, helped me explain exactly where the damage was, and the next day had the crew come out and drill out the water damage and put blowers in my garage for 4 days to dry it out. During this time I was not without a water heater as Karl worked with my water heater company to put in a temporary water heater until everything was fixed. I am a very responsive person and texted him almost every day and he would get right back to me to tell me where we were at with the project and what the next steps were. We were able to get my home owners insurance to approve payment within a week, they received it and they came out to my house to restore. When it was finished Karl came by my house took pictures and we reviewed that everything was completed in a stellar timeframe with professionalism and expertise! The quality of the work performed by Drytech was clean and performed really well by their technicians. Unfortunately, their good work is overshadowed by front office shenanigans. There is a big communications issue. I called Drytech on May 11th after unusual rain caused damage to the house. Rudy came out right away to assess the leak and to lock in the job for Drytech. He told me that he was in charge of the Demo work and that another guy (Edgar) runs the construction portion. I asked repeatedly about the leak and Rudy stated that the leak repair would be included in the construction quote that Edgar submits. Demo began quickly and it took about a week with walls/insulation being removed and fans being left to dry the surfaces. After that a long, quiet wait began. I expected to hear from Edgar so he could come out and look the house over for his repair quote. Nope, didn't happen and never heard from him. I never even received a copy of Drytech's construction estimate so I had no clue where I stood. At least then I would have known that there were no plans to fix the leak. Fast-forward 7 weeks later, we finally get placed on the construction schedule after both my wife and I calling repeatedly for updates. Jessica helped us the most as she seems to be the best communicator in the entire Drytech front office. Edgar's construction guy shows up at my house and is unloading drywall and insulation, but no leak repair materials so I ask him, "You are going to repair the leak before you put the drywall back up, right?" The guy seems completely unaware of any leak. So, I grab Edgar's number from the tech and call him. He then tells me that Drytech does not repair leaks and that the leak is my responsibility. After 8 weeks, this is the first time anyone has said this to me. He even tried to tell me that the long wait was my fault when my bill was paid by the insurance company an entire month before Drytech returned. I have the dated receipt. This is the first time I'd ever spoken to Edgar. I told him how Rudy said he would be fixing my leak and he informed me that Rudy is no longer with the company. I felt completely misled and left in the dark. I was mad and rightfully so. I wasted 2 months!! I could have had the leak repaired during the big gap of time I spent waiting on Drytech to return. Instead I got new walls and insulation and the same stucco leak that I started with. Don't call yourself a water restoration company if you don't repair water leaks. Drytech got over $5400 from the insurance company for what was considered a very small job. The costs were super inflated and the project leads were both deceptive. read more

The guy who arrived first made me feel like they were going to take care of it as i was very concerned. The crew showed up and they were friendly, answered my questions and they worked really hard. When the left, i saw that they had swept so well that i could walk on the concrete barefooted if i wanted to! Best of all, after he removed the fans, one of the guys actually went out of his way to remove exposed nails and help me drag a sofa over an open wall to make sure my toddler doesn't hurt herself! They only took my items to bill y insurance an astronomical amount of money for storage. They even took a book shelf that i told them i was throwing away. They held my item hostage saying they weren't giving me back anything until the insurance paid them. They placed my dishwasher outside. It rained and damaged my brand new dishwasher. They claim to have placed my garbage disposal outside as well and now it is no where to be found. They don't return phone calls. They removed parts of my walls that didn't even need to be removed. DryTech required 7 weeks to complete a 4-5 day job. The workers themselves and the work they did was fantastic. Beto, Jose and Vardan were courteous, hard-working and did great quality work. The problem with DryTech was in their scheduling, customer relations and general organization. I rarely received more than 24-hrs notice when a team would be stopping by to do work. I never got an accurate estimation and all estimations of work were requested by me. The entire process required me to take countless hours off of work and sometimes even sitting around waiting for the crew to show up 5-6 hours late, work for an hour and then tell me they had to come back the next day, unscheduled. I left several messages for the DryTech project coordinator and don't recall ever getting a call back. Maybe once. Always a guessing game. Very disorganized and unprofessional as a company. 100% recommend Dry Tech Restoration. My hot water heater leaked into my garage and laundry room they came in and removed and dried all the affected drywall. That part was done immediately, had to wait on the insurance to get the rebuild accomplished, but after the 1 guy came in and completely rebuilt the rooms in about 10 hours over 2 days.
