It was super easy to make an appointment and she's pretty flexible with her days and times. The salon is on dillingham above a physician's office so I would schedule when they are not open. The salon itself is clean and has a nice ambiance, I did not feel out of place while hanging out on their couch waiting for my turn. Shana did an amazing job on my hair. I checked in with the owner, Nick, and asked if his wife, Mio, was available to color hair. He said he would check and shortly after told us to come inside. I showed Mio a photo of the blue highlights my daughter wanted and explained we only wanted the dead ends trimmed. Before starting, Mio said she didn't have blue dye, only purple, which my daughter agreed to. After bleaching sections of her hair, Mio applied the color but said it wasn't turning purple, explaining she didn't know why and showing me the tube labeled "purple." She asked me to take a photo to show my daughter and see if she liked it. Mio then left the room and later returned, applying another dye without explaining the color, which turned out to be blue -- the color we originally requested but were previously told was unavailable. I asked if the first section could be corrected so everything would match, but Mio insisted it wasn't noticeable and encouraged my daughter to keep both colors. She said it was just a test and that no one would see it. I repeatedly told her we wanted it all blue. Mio said she would have to re-bleach that section, and I told her that was fine. She then colored the rest of the highlights blue but did not fix the part we specifically asked her to correct. After washing, the hair was uneven with light blue, green, and yellow/blonde tones and did not match the photo. I asked her to redo it because my daughter's hair looked faded and was not what we wanted. I also asked her to leave the dye in longer because I felt it had been rinsed out too soon. Mio initially said nothing would be perfect. After I asked a few times, she agreed to redo it. I also reminded her to color the section she had previously bleached but never corrected. After the second attempt, it looked slightly better but still was not the color we wanted. At the front, the total was $376. I explained that I wasn't comfortable paying that amount given the outcome. Mio then began yelling in front of other customers, complaining about having to redo my daughter's hair and saying she wanted to charge me more for it, even though she never mentioned any additional cost beforehand. I explained that it wasn't our fault she had to spend more time on my daughter's hair or use more product, since the issue came from the first attempt. The situation continued to escalate, and I became overwhelmed and started crying, especially because I had six of my children with me and had not expected to be there for so long. The owner, Nick, then stated that if I did not pay he would call the police. I told him he could do so because it was impossible to have a conversation while Mio continued yelling. The police were called, and I paid $250 so I could leave with my children. I've been a loyal customer here for years and have spent a significant amount of money at this shop, which made this experience especially disappointing. Based on what happened, I would not recommend getting hair color services here. The final result did not match what we requested, and the situation was handled poorly. I would also suggest reading other reviews before deciding to book.

The way she would talk about my pattern and my layers already told me that she knew what she was doing. First, she dry cut some of my curls. Then she washed, massaged, and straightened my hair, then cut some more of it while It was straightened to make sure it had an even finish both ways. she also gave amazing advice on how to keep my hair healthy. They scheduled me with Brandy who was awesome, so attentive, educated me about clarifying shampoo, did a very relaxing wash and blow dry, and my hair looked like a Kpop stars by time she was finished. Extremely reasonable pricing (compared to where I'm from, San Francisco Bay area in California), I was shocked $75 for a very individualized cut, wash and blow dry, with lovely conversation along the way. Glad I waited til getting to Hawaii to get my hair did! The salon was clean, took a hot minute to locate cuz we didn't follow the driving instructions on their website. If u come from pedestrian level street u need to take elevator to 7th floor of the high rise.
