I knew enough about construction and engineering to seek professional input and reached out to Alpha Structural. They were pretty booked out, however when I explained the gravity of the problem (people in a home office below the tub area), Franchesca worked her magic and got me an appointment in 2 days. Damien showed up promptly at the 9 Am start time. We walked around the property while I explained my concern, and noted several other possible issues. Damien was extremely through, asking numerious questions and providing input and advice along the way. He took the time to explain causes for the different issues and was personable, professional and extremely helpful. Luckly for me, my problems traced back to normal settling, a recent solar panel and roofing job and normal aging. It's no wonder why Alpha has so many 5 star reviews- They absolutitly deserve every one of those. I only wish other businesses were as well run, and with such amazing people like Damien and Franchesca.

One issue, however, was that there was differential settling. This is where Alpha Structural comes in. I feel the entire process went well. Ken came out to survey the situation. We had a good conversation and came to consensus on the scope of work; and I feel I received a fair proposal. David Gonzalez (supervisor) was good at communicating once the job started. He provided an accurate timeline for Alpha's part of the rehab project (so that I could schedule subsequent contractors). When demolition revealed new things, I was informed. And he provided a good debrief when work was completed. Matteo and Dennis spent three days on the project. Whenever I visited the worksite, they were busy. I don't think people realize what is involved when re-leveling a house. These two demonstrated a lot of skilled work. I (and my neighbors) also appreciate the company's "clean as you go" process. Regardless of the work happening, the worksite was always neat. Going forward, I feel I have a good (new) baseline understanding of what is happening within my house.

When they gave us a quote, each item on the project was itemized, so there were no surprises. Their last invoice shows the receipts of all the raw materials they bought, including returns. The communication from Vicky was very good. Ben was a great consultant when we weren't sure what to choose. He explains all the things you need to consider in a bathroom, or the kind of hardware to buy. Andrew, who showed up everyday was always on time. His tile work is neat. On the last day of the project, he thoroughly cleaned so there was no mess. Overall, it was a smooth experience and we're happy with the results.

I highly recommend them for your next bathroom remodel.

I had the project quoted by 4 contractors and I was smart enough to choose Bob. From our first phone call on a saturday morning and first meeting on the following Sunday, I got a really good vibe from Bob. I was impressed by the responsiveness, his communication, and technical know-how as he walked me through the major steps of the project. Short Summary: Bob and his team completed both bathrooms on schedule and within the expected budget even though I threw in some obstacles and last minute changes. Both bathrooms look amazing and better than what I imagined. Most importantly, my wife absolutely loves the bathrooms. Long Summary: Within a day of viewing the bathrooms, Bob had a written quote along with a clear description of the major jobs, materials, and timeline. He quoted about 3 weeks for the work at a good price. The demolition began the day after we signed the contract. I was impressed as to how clean the demolition work was executed. I very much appreciated how Bob and his team genuinely cared for the integrity of the house and treated it like it was their own. I honestly felt that my home was in good hands which was very very important for me since i had just recently purchased it. Bob is flexible with how materials are acquired. He gives you the option of purchasing yourself or having him purchase and pick up. I did a combination of both and relied heavily on his opinions of various fixtures and materials. Throughout the entire process, Bob walked me through all of the key decisions that needed to be made almost on a day-by-day basis to ensure that the work flowed smoothly and efficiently. I was also very impressed by his workers and their quality of work. I got to chat with them fairly often and it was clear to me that they enjoy working for Bob which, to me, says a lot about how he runs his business. Bob Escobar is skilled, creative, and efficient. If you know what you want, he'll make sure the project is executed smoothly. If you don't know what you want, he'll work with you to find the right solution. I experienced both sides with the two bathrooms. I highly recommend Escobar Construction for your home projects.

They also brought it back inside the house when the job was completed. He explained to me each day what they would be working on and was very good at communicating any possible delays with me. He and his crew did a excellent job and I would highly recommend him to others. If you're looking for a friendly, reliable and trustworthy guy, Bob Escobar is the one to call.

An Architect's Review…read more As an architect, I work with contractors on a regular basis and needless to say, I was probably more particular than most when it came to choosing someone to work on my own home. Word of mouth and research led me to ARC / Armando... and I'm glad I went with him! From the beginning, communication was clear and straightforward. We went through the scope of work, my requirements and budget. I had some very basic drawings prepared to communicate my ideas. Along the way, Armando made suggestions to work with my requirements and budget. His pricing was reasonable and, most importantly, he completed the work within the budget we originally agreed upon. Anyone who has done a renovation before knows how easily costs can start creeping up once work begins. That was not my experience here. The scope and budget were established upfront and Armando stuck to them. And this was very important to me as I had no way of accommodating an increase in cost. The work was for a garage renovation, it included interior demo, replacement of an exterior window, addition of a new exterior door, vinyl wood flooring, drywall and installation of a new gypsum ceiling. Work progressed efficiently and to my expectations with no unnecessary delays. Communication throughout the project was excellent, and mostly Armando initiating the conversations to keep me updated. He was also very easy to work with on finishes and hardware. Some items I provided myself while others were sourced by him. Again, he made recommendations to work with my budget while not compromising on quality. Speaking of quality, the quality of the work was exceptional. It has now been over a year since the renovation was completed and everything still looks as good as the day it was finished. Absolutely zero complaints! His attention to detail was very much appreciated. He constantly made suggestions when he felt something could be improved. For example, he suggested a more random tile pattern for the vinyl floor instead of the more regular stagger I had proposed. We went with his suggestion and I am very pleased with it. Armando is knowledgeable, reliable and a pleasure to work with. Coming from someone who deals with contractors professionally all the time, I don't make that recommendation lightly. Definitely highly recommended and he will be my first call for future projects!

I chose this company since the pricing was competitive and the contract terms and communication were very clear. I felt that Fabian was a trustworthy contractor from his professionalism, detailed explanations to my questions, and quick responses. There was a team of 5 others aside from Fabian and they were all courteous, professional and knowledgeable. I was impressed that so many people showed up to get the work done quickly. I added additional drywall and plumbing work and the work performed by this company was absolutely amazing. They fixed mistakes that a previous plumber created. The previous plumber took messy shortcuts and Avelar remodeling really takes pride in getting the job done right. Above all, the customer service was extremely excellent and Fabian offered a lot of home improvement insight that was very valuable. I am very happy with all the work that was completed at my house and already recommended this company to my family and friends. I also plan to hire him again to do do additional work on my bathroom.

We met for a general overview at our house, met again at the shop to review the contract and agreed to proceed. They showed up Monday thru Friday and communicated if unable to show up. They use an app called Builder Trend, which allows for communication with all team members, regular photo uploads, balance/payment schedule review and contract copies. They were very professional, well organized and even provided digital layouts prior to starting the project. They enclosed the working area well and did their best to keep non-working areas clean. They were responsive to any concerns that we brought up. Make sure that everything that you want, or agree on is written in the contract. Any changes that you request will result in a change in order invoice, resulting in additional fees. I would recommend making payments in person at the shop, rather than using your credit card to avoid extra charges. Overall, we definitely recommend AC&R for your remodeling needs and would use them again for any future projects.

We've interviewed a few home builders, checked out their work and reputation, and eventually decided to go with Gil, Oren, and the whole team of Go Home Builders. Working with the insurance was a pain, luckily Gil had experience working with Allstate insurance before, and he helped us a lot getting the money we needed to rebuild our home. The planning process took a bit longer than what we initially planned for. The county of LA took their sweet time approving our plans. Fortunately, after 2 sets of revisions we were fully approved. The construction wasn't bad at all, they had plenty of guys working on our home at the same time. The only time there was no work, was on inspection days. The finishes was one thing that was extremely important for us. My wife and I are detail oriented and wanted to make sure we're choosing the right company to do the finish work correctly. All I can say is that they exceeded my expectations. Overall the beginning of the process was extremely emotional challenging, but the whole team of Go Home Builders made us feel like we're not alone. My wife and I are very grateful for them. I had a rough vision in mind for fitting a lot into a relatively small space, but wanted to see the options rendered so I could better make the big layout and design decisions. Alexis was very patient and super helpful in mocking up each iteration until we locked in the final design. Once it was time to actually break ground, Gil, Oren, Uriel, and the rest of the team were really responsive and always available by text. Unlike previous contractors we've worked with, they usually gave us an idea of what was happening the next day/week and who to expect onsite. The first ~70% of the project went really smoothly and far exceeded my expectations. Demo, framing, rough plumbing, and electrical all largely went without a hitch. We ran into some problems towards the end around communication, timeline, and subcontractor oversight -- which led to more delays when someone punctured our new in-wall toilet tank and flooded both the bathroom and bedroom. We know every construction job runs into challenges so we weren't bent out of shape by it, and we did appreciate that GHB took full responsibility for fixing the issues. By and large we were really impressed by most of their subcontractors, especially the very professional and considerate plumbing, electrical, and tiling teams! After living with our new bathroom for a while now, we can definitely say it was worth the wait, and such a huge improvement over our previous dysfunctional layout. Thanks to GHB for their great service, amazing attitude, attention to detail, and for bringing the bright, colorful bathroom of my dreams to life!

They were "yes people" -- agreeable on everything but never once offered guidance or pushed back when our ideas weren't practical. We needed a real partner, and that's exactly what we found here. Ammar was exceptional. He's a true expert and adviser who wasn't afraid to be honest with us. When some of our ideas weren't the most functional, he told us so -- and immediately came back with multiple alternatives that helped us land on a design that was both sleek and practical. One of the best decisions he guided us toward was using two different cabinet colors -- light gray for the perimeter cabinets and a warm dark wood for the island. The contrast is stunning and gives the kitchen a high-end, designer feel we never would have landed on without his input. The installation crew was equally impressive -- the fit and finish on every cabinet, drawer, and detail is top notch. The result speaks for itself.
