First impression I loved this place! Modern farmhouse decor and open concept. The place feels light and airy and I loved the bar set up which extends the length of the restaurant. I also liked that you could see into the kitchen. Everything looks clean. I arrived with 2 friends on Friday night at 6pm. The waiting area is large and at that time there was no one waiting so we got seated right away. The waitress was very nice and knowledgeable of the menu. We were served our drinks right away. I had the mixed salad with crab cakes and one of my friends had the tortellini with pesto and the other had a cheeseburger. All our food was delicious! I give a 4 star rating because my friends dishes came out before mine and I had to ask about my dish a couple times before I was served at least 10 minutes later. I'm hoping this was just a mistake because by the time we ate the restaurant was full and people were in the waiting area. The food and atmosphere was so good we plan to come back again! read more

THIS IS A GREAT PLACE, We sat at the bar and the service was great. Great beer slection and the Bartender was great very helpfull. The food was very good no complaints. We had the wings and prestzel to start very good. The flat bread Pizza was really good. I would go back read more

No clue how the food is. We sat for 20 minutes without even being seen by a waiter or waitress.

Had a fantastic experience here. Food was excellent. Blanca flatbread for dinner and then the Death by Chocolate dessert. Atmosphere is rustic yet contemporary, very clean and comfortable. Our bartender Brittany made the evening. Very professional, attentive, and friendly. Definitely worth the visit! read more

A winning combination of diner and sophisticated menu. When you're order is ready the open kitchen rings a bell to notify servers. Mostly young servers but polite and hustling. Some creative twists on classics (meatless chilli). Big portions. Everyone leaves with a doggy bag. I like a loud, energetic place to eat but the limit is pushed here. They might want to think about a couple carpets or wall coverings. High ceilings, wood floors and walls, and a crowded dining room=jet level noise. But it's a good time and we'll be back. read more

Nice facility and decor. Loud inside when busy. Have tried brunch and dinner. Food is ok but just has not been what I've expected. Service was ok. Parking is poor. read more

Went to the bar for a beer before we met a couple for dinner. Staff was excellent and attentive. Ordered a Peak happy hour beer that was light and crisp, perfect way to start the evening. Homemade chips and dry rub wings were perfect. Ordered the Irish flat bread which was delicious and wife had the steak tips that were prepared to perfection. Thank you the owners for bringing this place to downtown foxboro! I cannot wait to come back... read more

Hoping next visit will be better. I like the atmosphere but wonder how loud it could get when full. When brought to our table we asked if we could sit at one of the other open tables further from the door, but were told this is all that's available. Service was so so but the food made up for it, sort of. My wife's steak tips were more like tippy tips... Tiny pieces...$12 extra for that? Burgers were cooked perfect which is one key marker for us (can they cook a burger to order?). Steak fries were a little under done... Salmon was great. Will be back to try again. read more

I love Union Straw! I'm super excited to see something fun in Foxboro. Most establishments are chains and generic American food.. but Union but a nice spin on meals and has what seems to be a great rotating seasonal specials menu. I ordered the Dublin flatbread and my friend ordered the classic chicken Caesar salad. I am pretty sure I inhaled my flatbread as it was perfectly cooked and my friend had all good things to say about a classic salad. Can't wait to go back!! The only thing I would do different for US is to dim the lighting, I feel like I still need sunglasses inside and since it is an industrial style vibe, everything is reflective and sparkling. This would never turn me off from going back, but I do hope it is not as bright next time. read more

We've been here a few times. Food is ok. Staff is attentive. Not too crazy about how loud it is. We are not in a hurry to go back. More a convenience read more

Outstanding dining experience, what a great addition to Foxborough...Great food AND bar!

We just got take out from Union Staw.and the Food is amazing. We got the pulled pork plate and the chicken and waffles. It was the best chicken and waffles I've had in a long time. Will definitely keep an eye on the weekly specials and order again !! read more

The service was so warm and welcoming, and we felt immediately at home when we walked in and spoke to the hostess. The atmosphere was exceptional and the perfect reprieve from the snowey outside. We ate a wonderful brunch. The serving sizes were great and generous. This is our favorite restaurant in the area! read more

We had a very disappointing experience last night. When we arrived at 6:20 for our 6:30 reservation, we were informed that they had no reservation for us and that we would have to wait 30min. When my friend arrived at 6:30 and showed email proof of our reservation, they scrambled to find us a table, but we still ended up waiting. Our server was not very friendly and somehow forgot to put my husband's dinner order in, so he ended up eating well after the rest of us were finished. My daughter's salmon was over-salted. My "1/2 chicken" was merely a small, dry bone-in breast (with NO sauce or anything like the pictures posted by management). It was incredibly loud and we couldn't hear each other at all. I also have a few complaints about the menu: the "fish" of the day was shrimp, which is NOT fish. And the chicken in the chicken & waffles looked like frozen chicken fingers. This is the second disappointing experience I've had in a row there, and I don't think I'll be returning. read more

Charcuterie board really outstanding. Wonderful to sit outside with huge heaters. Wait service friendly. Drinks and water came over. Didn't get my martini right the first time but had no trouble replacing it. Lovely as it was, took a very long time for dinner. But when we got it, the food was abundant and delicious.....and then the owner came by and too off the bill our appetizer due to the wait and we didnt even have to ask or make a fuss. THAT is the sign of a very good business. I will be back for sure! read more

You must get service right! We are huge supporters both by spending and promoting our nearest restaurant. However, the service has gone downhill considerably in the last six months. Plenty of staff on hand and less capacity, what gives? Poor training on guest comfort and coordination of drink, apps, meals... bring in a service expert and help your managers so they may help the staff understand how to work through a shift. End result will be return customers, happy customers. We left tonight after our app was served due to the unnecessary wait. It wasn't that busy. Not busy enough to sit there for 10 minutes before being greeted. Get it right and you're sitting on a gold mine other than relying on outdoor seating that truthfully, isn't that great. I think you're concept and model is great, just level up to the anticipation and expect you're touting please. read more

We had the pleasure of having a wonderful brunch here this morning. The patio was cozy and safe. The service was careful and attentive and the food was hearty but not heavy. We will be back. read more

I've been here for lunch and brunch. Both were fun and delicious. This weekend they had a great quiche special with pulled pork and roasted tomatoes. My husband had the hash and brisket and said it was outstanding! read more

All looks, no taste. Our party of 4 came in at 2 on a Saturday, place was at most half full, but we still waited for an hour for the first dish to arrive, then each addition dish five minutes apart. The chicken sandwich was inedibly burnt and the burgers were mediocre at best. When asked to replace an incorrect side dish, the waitress responded "sometimes they need to breathe". Save your money because Dairy Queen would have been better. read more

1. Amazing service. 2. Amazing food. Colleen R. was our server and she was INCREDIBLE. She could even read our minds of what we wanted to order and would enjoy. The food was delicious!!! Mouth watering. I want to try everything on the menu. Can't wait to come back! P.S. saw on phantom gourmet and so glad we came! read more

I've been here a few times and I'm 50/50 about the place. Atmosphere and environment are great , very rustic cool feel to it but the service and food are mediocre. I think the 5 or 6 times I've been here so far I've really only had 1 positive outcome. Most recent time I went.. food took over an hour to get to us. A side of tater tots were $9. A small side. Also found a hair attached to my tot right before I was going to put it in my mouth. The other times I've been here I've also experienced a long wait for food. Just stinks when you're hungry waiting for what seems like delicious food. Kind of expensive and over rated if you ask me read more

I'll start out by saying I'm a frequent customer, probably should have some ownership at this point. All kidding aside, my typical routine is to locate an open seat at the bar to just unwind and enjoy what most often is a great meal. I've witnessed a few menu changes, the most recent being a complete overhaul, food is still good however, the prior menu with it's unique twist on "comfort food" would have me as well as many others, coming in far more frequently. In regards to the staff and management, all are top notch!! read more

I never really leave reviews unless the place is either to die for or terrible. This food was awful. Ordered take out which included the bacon avocado aioli cheeseburger. The burger was definitely a cheap frozen patty, the aioli was not aioli, it was smeared avocado and it was brown. My husband ordered the bbq chicken plate - the baked beans were bush's canned baked beans and he said the chicken tasted like the sauce was watered down sweet baby rays. Also spent $8 on truffle Parmesan French fries. There were maybe 15 fries and almost no Parmesan or truffle oil. Overall disappointed. read more

Dinner was great! Service was good, chicken and waffles were delicious! Service was outstanding. Will def be back!

Came in last Saturday evening with a party of 5. We called around 4pm and asked about reservations. We were told just to come in. Awesome! We arrived around 6:15 and were told it was about a 40 minute wait. I guess they do take reservations but they were all taken for the evening. I wish they had told us that on the phone but no big that was on us for not knowing. We were excited to sit down and eat! The place looks modern and comfy. The atmosphere was terrific. After ~ 50 minutes we were seated. We had water brought right away and ordered within 10 minutes. It took 45 minutes for 2 soups and an appetizer to come out. The soup was really good (french onion)! The fried pickles were a bit undercooked....still doughy in the middle. At this point, I asked the waitress if I could have a piece of bread of anything for my 5-year-old daughter. I was told there was something bread related on the menu if I wanted to order it. I then asked if she could check on my daughters food as we were 50 minutes after ordering. She went over to the kitchen and brought out my daughters dinner. The rest of our meals came out 10 minutes later. My mother-in-law had parm haddock and said it was pretty good. I ordered the Pasta, Pesto, and Peas. From the description in the menu (Fresh Tortellini. Pesto. English Peas. ) I was surprised to get what tasted and looked like the premade tortellini from the grocery store, premade/purchased pesto, and frozen peas. For $20 this was pretty disappointing. It was a very large portion however. Everyone else seemed to be fine with their food but everyone was tired and a bit over the waiting. It seems like the menu, kitchen timing, and service really needs some tweaking. read more

Service was excellent, decor very attractive and warm. Food was ok but not great, and seemed overpriced ($96 for 2 glasses of wine, 1 starter, and 2 entrees). We had truffle Parmesan frites as an appetizer - not enough truffle or Parmesan, but piping hot. Husband had short rib with mashed potatoes and acorn squash, and said it was bland. I had bolognese over spaghetti squash (love the gf option). I was surprised to find very large chunks of sausage in the sauce vs. the ground beef and/or pork in a traditional bolognese. We love having a new option in town and know they're new and adjusting. We will definitely try again and every single employee we spoke with was pleasant and accommodating. read more

Not good at all. Tasteless food and dry rub ribs weren't tender at all. Coleslaw was really weird tasting.

Extremely good food and even better desserts the service was great and the cocktails were amazing

A must try if you are in the area! First time at Union Straw. Was a rare night out since having a baby in March. This place is a must try. Had dinner at the bar - Iohn was our server and was the perfect balance of personable and attentive. We went with several of his suggestions and were not disappointed. read more

The food was pretty good. The restaurant was very clean. The bar is long and they had a few tv's. We sat in the dining room. They provide water to start and leave the bottle on your table. My only critique would be the wait staff was constantly standing around talking while we waited for someone to come to our table. Our waitress was very nice and had a couple of other tables so it was understandable that it took her a few minutes to come over. She was new and you can tell she was trying really hard. I just don't think it is a good luck to see other employees standing around talking when you are waiting for someone to come over. read more

I went here recently when looking for a new restaurant to try out. My friends had gone a few weeks before me, but weren't raving about it. They said they'd go back though, so I decided to swing by. We had to wait almost an hour, but we knew that would be the case because we called ahead. When we were sat, we were in a room at the very back that was cutoff from the rest of the restaurant. Because of its proximity to the bathroom and kitchen, it also smelled horrendous. It happened to be the night of the Final Four games, and the back TV wasn't working. We didn't care, but it was very distracting to have four tables ask move once they were seated and then have an employee fight with the TV for 15 minutes. The server we had was very friendly, but the food and drinks took way too long to get to our table. The menu seemed limited (and somewhat confusing- there were 3 identical menus with specials, etc) and the drinks were just okay. I see what my friends were saying, it's nothing to rave about but (other than the smell) I didn't have a bad experience. Since there are other restaurants in the same price range in the area, I don't see myself going back. read more

Chicken and waffles is amazing, their outdoor patio is great (while the weather holds up!) Their takeout is also done great so it's freshly made and not ruined by the time you get home with it. read more

I had a reservation last night. Showed up on time and was told it would be a few minutes. Fifteen minutes later, multiple open tables and no one ever got in touch with me. I decided to leave. I understand that restaurants need support now and I am trying to support them. However, customer service is important. I hope your restaurant is able to survive but you have lost me as a customer. read more

Having gone about 4 times in the last 2 months, I think I have enough to offer up a accurate review. Not the biggest place, and can fill up very quickly, but ample waiting area and the wait is worth it. The menu may not be the biggest, but they turn it over often enough that there is always new things to try. They have a large bar, and as someone that likes sitting at the bar (eating at the bar) that is a big plus. They utilize "Runners" to deliver food, so that helps to assure your food arrives hot. The items on the menu are always unique and have a lot of flavor. They have a wide range of creative apps and they are all large portions and most are almost a meal onto themselves. The wait staff is friendly and engaging. The only small negative is a significant lack of parking, but its worth the short walk. read more

Service was the slowest I've encountered since I stopped going to friendlys. Food was only mediocre.

Great atmosphere and even better food. Dedinately a place I will come back to. Try the wings as an app and the short runs as a meal and I know you'll be back for more. read more

If I could give this place ZERO stars, I would. The wait staff are plenty friendly and apologetic (reasons later) but the food, which we waited for over an hour to be served, was HORRIBLE. We ordered the cheese curds and Korean cauliflower as appetizers. After the hour long wait, they arrived lukewarm and boring. I ordered the salmon which finally arrived plated on "yucca" and what the menu claims the be broccoli slaw. What turned me off most was the cool temperature of the dish and the pool of water surrounding the arrangement on the plate. My husband ordered the bison shepherds pie. When he broke through the layer of potato on top, the bison chunks sat immersed in a full pool of grease. Do bison swim? We were seated outside although I swear I don't recall being informed that we would be stuck out there when I made the reservation. It was freezing and we watched wait staff turn on heat lamps at every empty table though none seem to be situated anywhere near ours. In sum, RUN don't walk somewhere else. I tipped the waiter simply because I felt sorry for him. He should work somewhere else where he doesn't have to apologize all night. It ain't worth it. There goes over $100 and date night down the toilet. I just hope we not get sick. read more

I went with a large group and had a great experience. The atmosphere is nice and everyone's dinner, apps, and drinks were great! We will definitely be going back! read more

I went for brunch with some friends this past weekend and I was delighted to discover this new gem in Foxboro. The building remodel looks brand new and the ambiance is warm, inviting, and offers large tables for big groups, smaller more intimate tables, a very long bar area, and I think they also have a private dining area. The menu was typical breakfast fare, but everything was excellent and so I decided it was a place to try for dinner sometime. As it happened I found myself in town again this evening and so my husband and I stopped in for dinner. It was even better than brunch. The plates that are delivered are little pieces of art. Each one that went by looked so pretty and delicious. My husband had a grilled chicken sandwich special that had "whiskey bacon jam" on top. He loved it. It was served with the house specialty - homemade potato chips - with a cheddar sriracha sauce on the side that we could have eaten with a spoon it was so delicious. Also his dish was served with an adorable ramekin with fresh, cut up veggies on the side. He ate everything and was very happy with his choice. I had the PBG salad (pear, bacon, goat cheese) with grilled chicken on top. Very fresh, very juicy grilled chicken, a light but satisfying choice. I am delighted to give a glowing review to this lovely new restaurant and I hope they will be successful for years to come -- they are a much needed addition to our area. read more

Union Straw - Chicken Sandwich special with "whiskey bacon jam" - New American Near Me - Foxborough, Massachusetts

We went for brunch. Blueberry pancakes and French toast. The pancakes were massive, the size of a dinner plate. They were also dry and tasteless. The order was slow in coming and they eventually came to refill coffee after quite a while but I'd put a used teabag in the empty cup (there was no place else to put it). They pulled it out and reused the cup. The server (not the same person as the coffee filler) was friendly and quick but that's about the only good thing I can say. We bought a loaf of blueberry lemon bread before we ordered and the two dishes, coffee/tea and orange juice was $45 with tip. Not worth it. Sorry. read more
