I found this restaurant to be VERY disappointing on all levels. There is "on the street parking" next to their outdoor dining, and no signs as to other parking. All the street spaces were taken, and we went into a small lot, that we thought was their parking, but wasn't. The good thing was that I spotted a parking lot on the next street that seems to be for the restaurant. So, around the block we went. We pulled into the lot and there was a space for handicapped parking straight ahead. So, being disabled, I parked there. There was a LONG ramp leading to the door, or some steps. I chose the stairs because there were only a few. Inside, it smelled. I found it unpleasant, so we chose to eat outside. We had to go back down the stairs, and walk the full length of the building to get to the tables. I asked for the restroom. It was inside. To get to it, you needed to walk all the way back into the parking lot, up the stairs, go inside, walk the length of the building to the restroom, then all the way around, again, to get back to the table! WOW! When the waitress told me, I looked at her in disbelief! Because I am disabled, she said I was allowed to go through the door marked no admittance, and was held open by a rag on the floor! More stairs To climb, though. Finally, I got to read the menu. It was very limited, and the prices were very high. ($5 for potato chips! $10 for potato puffs.) I found something to order, but I didn't really like anything on the menu. It took a long time for the food to arrive. My friend got the waffle and chicken which looked really good, and was, I was told. I got a flat bread dish, which was the size of one half of a small pizza. I ate two slices and left two. Blah. The parking lot is rather small, and, if you park in the handicap space, you'll need to back all the way out, if the lot is full. It was very clean. The wait staff was very nice. But, I won't go there again. read more

Drinks were good. Apps were good we had the biscuit and curds. The meals were mediocre at best. I've had a better fast food chicken sandwich. My wife's pork had just straight vinegar and mustard on it, not a Carolina bbq sauce. Service was not the greatest either and there was one waiter per table since it was dead when we went. read more

This place boasts a very creative menu and a great ambiance. They come through on the ambiance end but not on the food. I tried this restaurant twice, once for a Sunday brunch and then a full course dinner with friends. On both occasions, the food brought out fell far short of the descriptions on the menu. Their boneless chick tenders with Korean BBQ sauce looked strangely similar to what you can pick up through drive-thru windows. Their entrees were equally disappointing, and my friends and I all thought we could have cooked these meals better at home. To top off the list of disappointments, the prices on the drinks and food were, for lack of a better word, "whacked." My $28 Sheppard's Pie was mashed potatoes with ground bison meat and what tasted like bits of frozen veggies. Okay, maybe that is what Sheppard's Pie is, but should they charge $28 for a small plate? I ordered a glass of the Pinot Grigio, the more expensive of the two choices. For $11, I received what looked like an 8oz stemless glass that was half-filled at best. I think I received better pours at a wine tasting session. A friend ordered one of their specialty martinis, which also came in a miniature-sized martini glass - something I hadn't seen before. The restaurant has lovely décor, and the wait staff is attentive. So, I give high marks for those. However, I take off huge points for ridiculously high-priced food and drinks that do not live up to the creatively written menu. read more

Enjoyed a burger and truffle fries. Best burger and the fries were so good. My friend also had a burger however with their regular fries. She wished that she had also ordered the truffle and Parmesan fries as well. Interesting menu. Wait staff were lovely. Will return someday soon. read more

Always tasty and the name reflects a knowledge of Foxborough history as well. Service persons were courteous and took care of us.

Great menu, great service, great atmosphere. If the weather is right eat outside and enjoy the great patio. Loved the menu. They also had a great beer selection. read more

Union Straw - New American Near Me - Foxborough, Massachusetts

Ate at Union Straw on Sunday 03/12 at 1:30 PM. Long wait time to receive our food, and the place was maybe 25% full. We were a party of 8 adults. When I ordered a burger and fries, the waitress offered the Truffle Oil & Parmesan. I specifically asked if there was an up-charge, and she replied: "No, it's the same price as regular fries" Another person in our party ordered the Kama Jama Chicken Sandwich, to which the waitress asked if he wanted any spicy sauce on the chicken. The guest replied Carolina Hot sauce. End of meal and I give my credit card to the waitress. She only brings back the total amount receipt to sign. I wait, and wait..she arrives back to the table and I ask for the detailed receipt. Yeap ! You guessed it ! $3 charge for the Truffle Oil & Parmesan added on the fries, and $4 for the Carolina Hot Sauce ! $4.00 for a splash of hot sauce added onto an $18 chicken sandwich !@#$??? I wrote on the detailed receipt: "I asked, and you said same price as regular fries" And I underlined the $4.00 hot sauce charge. After taking the receipt [still giving her a 20% tip], she did not return to the table to apologize or explain why the extra $7.00 in charges and slow service from the kitchen. Do not recommend and would never return. read more

Just don't get the biscuit appetizer it is one biscuit made with duck and sadness for $16

Had some pretty decent bbq from this place. I got the dry rub ribs with all the fixings, watermelon salad, and truffle tots. The ribs were well cooked and had a nice bark. The corn bread was really solid and so were the baked beans. However the slaw was severely underdressed and could have used more vinegar. The watermelon salad was good, but would have loved some feta in there. And the tots were good, nothing special, but good! read more

I'm not sure how Union Straw shows up as number 1 in yelp. My beer being poured from the bottom of the keg and undrinkable was a foreshadow of what we were about to experience. The ribs were dry and the beans were flavorless. My dads stir fry was made of frozen vegetables and they forgot the chicken so brought out a piece of unseasoned not marinaded chicken. The waiter could not confirm the salad dressing was gluten free for my celiac wife so she had to have a salad with no dressing. My mom's duck sandwich was good. To top it off the waiter kept winking at us which creeped out my wife, and honestly myself as well. Maybe he was acknowledging the joke was on us for dining there. read more

Delicious. Easter Sunday Dinner take out, fully cooked by Union Straw was a wonderful meal. We ordered 2 meals. Ham dinner & turkey dinner. Portions were perfect, nothing overcooked or undercooked. Taste was pleasing to the palate, enjoyed by all. Thank you Union Straw and all who participated in meal preparation during such a separation of community. Can't wait for Union Straw to reopen and order at the table. read more

Just had dinner and what a fantastic experience. Everyone from the Hostess to our server Eileen. The food was amazing. The kids loved their meals as well as the adults. The drinks were great and desserts even better. Highly recommend!! 5 stars! read more

went for the first time last night. the food was good and the atmosphere is beautiful but after being there for one hour a friend showed up and wanted to have a quick drink with me and my sis in law and the waiter huffed and puffed said his mgr wouldn't be pleased. I told him my food is still in front of me and what if I wanted coffee and dessert and you're pushing me out of here. Never have I ever had that happen to me anywhere before. Bad business for sure. read more

Enjoyed our dinner at Union Straw. Modern, clean decor. Our server was very friendly. Interesting menu- nice to have different options in the suburbs instead of standard pub fare. Great martinis. read more

Do NOT get anything off the bbq section of the menu. Cornbread tasted like pound cake. Pulled chicken was just bad. Beans were the worst I've had (beans are not hard). Tasted like old refried beans, no exaggeration. And I like refried beans. Slaw was tasteless, so the best part of the meal. We also had a chicken sandwich which was sub par at best for the price. It wasn't unappetizing - so better than the bbq chicken - but far from good. Paid extra for Nashville hot which was not spicy whatsoever, probably hard to tell the difference if you don't pay up for it. Best things on the menu were the ricotta app (which is under snacks so not under the app menu) and the pork belly. Others in our group got other items and were meh. Cocktails far outperformed anything on the menu. Mezcal old fashioned was above average. Far better off going elsewhere around the downtown foxboro area read more

Small portions. Bad food. Spent 50 dollars for four bites of food that taste like straight lime juice. Don't waste your money

Such a fantastic experience. The Duck Grilled Cheese is crave inducing. The candied pork belly is perfect for sharing and the award winning steak melts in your mouth. Perfectly cooked to temp and paired with delicious truffled tots, I will definitely be back! read more

Total letdown. Reviews seemed promising, food was a disaster. We ordered takeout on a busy Saturday night, we arrived at the stated time according to the online order confirmation, food was ice cold upon arrival. BBQ pulled pork was a joke, dried bits of what was maybe once pulled pork, soaked in tons of sauce. Pathetic. Ribs were so tough and dry, seems like leftovers from a few days ago. Crispy chicken sandwich was a breaded and fried piece of rubber. read more

I was looking for a brunch spot otw to Wrentham outlets and I'm so glad my bf and I found this place! The chicken and waffles were crazy spicy (if you love Buffalo sauce order this) and the server was great and let me sub out for biscuits and gravy. My bf inhaled his Benedict and we loved the drinks. 5/5 for sure read more

First time dining here. Atmosphere was good, food was awesome. The staff was super nice but SLOW. The service was the slowest I've ever had in my life. I walked in around 5:30 PM and left around 9:00 PM The servers were great and the food was great, but I won't go there again unless I have half a day to kill. read more

We came back to Union Straw last night Friday 8/26/22 and ate inside this time. Front of House, it seems, have been told to "look busy" even though they have plenty of tables open! However, they come across as rude, as they don't look at you, when speaking. We had reservations and were checked in on time and told to wait. We were asked to wait for one other party to be seated first; that party was then seated. We were forgotten about and another couple who walked in after us, were seated first. We were then asked by the Hostess if we had been checked in. We stated yes, we were checked in by You! Our waitress rushed us through our meal even though no other parties were waiting. The Duck Grilled Cheese was quite delicious and we paired it with a nice Merlot from the wine list. The poor treatment by the Front of House and being rushed unnecessarily by our "pushy" Waitress took away from our overall experience. Limited recommendation. read more

The mac n cheese is not merely elbow noodles and cheese. Velvete sauce, aldente cavitapi, home made I think, a touch of fresh herbs. I got the burnt end pork belly with it: not quite smokey or candy, the sweetness didnt over power. We also hot the chicken and waffles. There were many details, like after the made a great belgian waffle, it was fried slightly with butter. It kept a slight crispness that held against the maple burbon sauce. There was apple, sweet and spicy. Big flavors in balance. This was beautiful food, presented well with great service. The kids menu was great. read more

Perfect place for brunch! Would definitely visit again! Ask for a table with Ashley she's amazing!!

Okay I really wanted to like this place. :( We ordered the cheese flat bread for my child and as I took a bite of it, I was transcended to high school cafeteria pizza. Oddly satisfying. The grownup meals were a little less pleasurable. The Polynesian burger was like a giant pineapple sandwich with a slab of pepper jack and the chicken and waffles were sadly an overly sweet waffle with a chicken tender. We tried :( read more

This was our first visit; two couples. We chose to eat outside due to very nice weather (but inside seating looked very inviting, comfortable, and clean). There's a small parking lot in front, on Bird St. as well as around back along Mechanic street, and there are many spaces around the common just up the street, toward Cocasset street. I'll also mention that it was easy to get to, only about 1 mile from 95. Our server was just fantastic, full of energy and cheer - seriously! We started with a nice board of charcuterie which included many tasty treats. We then moved on to a variety of dishes: bbq ribs, bbq pulled chicken, a flatbread pizza and my own entrée - the "award winning" rib eye. Everyone was happy with their meal. I'll focus on the rib eye because it was truly outstanding. Cooked perfectly, served atop a generous helping of duck confit along with a side of roasted small potatoes, all topped with a bit of arugula. Along with each bbq dish was some very tasty cornbread, worth mentioning because we've found it rare when ordering bbq elsewhere. We also shared an order of parmesan truffle tots - again, delicious. For dessert two of us shared a waffle ice cream sandwich, definitely no complaints here. Go. Enjoy. read more

I thought about not writing this review but after 3 terrible meals here, I feel the need to share our experience. We went to the restaurant when it first opened and they served me boxed pasta with some meat sauce and called it bolognese. It looked and tasted about the caliber of college student cooking on a budget. We did take out during COVID and the BBQ was meh. I gave it the benefit of the doubt and chalked it up to COVID and takeout. We took some friends there for brunch and it was absolutely disgusting. The juevos rancheros was served with raw eggs. They were supposed to be sunny side up but they were still cold and partially clear. The eggs were on a fried tortilla and sprinkled with some lettuce. I've never seen juevos rancheros like this and so skimpy. Three people at the table got it and all 3 looked identical and were all disappointing. The chicken and waffles was pretty bad. It was cold, soggy and overly sweet. All the meals were cold. 6 meals. So cold. I don't understand. Overall, I cannot understand how this place gets good reviews. After 3 solid attempts over the last 1-1.5 years, I feel comfortable saying that I will not return. read more

I never post a bad review but today is the day. Heard good things about this restaurant and we decided to try it today for a special occasion. After sitting there for 50 minutes into a 90 minute only seating, watching 3 other tables, who came in after us, get their food, our food was served to us cold. Sent it back and they were brought back after microwaving but still cold! Twice I asked for lemon with my drink and never got it. We eventually got a new semi-warmer, meal, and the waitress tried to help, but by then it was too little too late. They did comp our meals and gave us a gift card to use another time but it may be a while before we try again. read more

Overall, Great food, services and hospitality! Family and I are impressed and really enjoy the environment at Union Straw

I had the pork belly and calamari for starters. Both amazingly good. Just the right amount of flavor and great portions. I had the Bolognese and my fiancé had the Mac and cheese. I didn't love the Mac and cheese but I believe that's more of a personal preference thing. My fiancé loved it. Atmosphere is really nice. read more

Really great atmosphere and food. The cinnamon bun french toast and chicken waffles are both phenomenal. The chicken is tender and the glaze on the outside of the crispy bonless chicken is addictive with the apple butter on the side. With a nice morning cocktail (mimosas or espresso martini) and great company, you can't go wrong. read more

Not sure why some of the mixed reviews, the outer suburbs is not known for its great restaurants, especially this area. I mean lets face it Wrentham and Norfolk have some of the worst restaurants around. At least Foxboro makes up for it with Patriot Place. However, this is the suburbs emerging from the darkness of restaurant woes. This place is tucked away in downtown Foxboro and it is not only really cool inside and pretty large with an exposed kitchen, farmhouse style decor, it is just a nice restaurant. The menu is a mix of everything from sandwiches, to steaks, to barbecue to salads and even flatbread. The high point of this place is the drinks and the service, as well as the food. The drinks are concoctions to match the season and are not only inventive but really tasty. The service is impeccable, just the right amount of attention, really friendly and helpful. I was seriously impressed by how good the service was since neighboring town restaurants have terrible service and need to take a lesson from this place. The food was great, really tasty, good flavors in the barbecue and all around really inventive dishes. I really like this place and will definitely return and I will recommend it! read more

Came here after a dead and co show... Bryan (the bartender) made our day and cured our hangover. Can't wait for our next visit!

Came here for brunch on Sunday. Parked about a minute away. Excellent location and enjoyed the walk to and from. Ample parking everywhere though. Bar was awesome. Had a bloody mary and an IPA. Two thumbs up for each one. Bartender was cool and recommended hash. I liked it a lot. So much that I even took some home and am eating it now. This inspired the review. Atmosphere was top notch. Big fan of the fork I used to eat the food. Will be back the next time I am in the area. read more

Food is good but the restaurant CANNOT handle reservations or seating. The staff is literally incompetent when it comes to wait time and telling people when their table is ready. It's really too bad the first customer touch point ruins the night. Don't trust when they say 30 minutes. It quickly changes to 2 hours. Hire some new staff. read more
