Stopped in next day after Dead and Co show. Sat at the bar and was helped by the best bartender ever, Bryan. Bryan was so attentive and we enjoyed a great chat. My breakfast burrito was delicious and great selection of drinks. I definitely will come back when in the area. Bryan made it so enjoyable!!!!! read more

LOVEeeee Union Straw. Worst thing about this place are the uncomfortable chairs at their high top tables. The bolognase IS THE BEST thing on the menu. Flavorful sauce, good amount of protein. I've had it both on pasta and spaghetti squash and prefer the sweetness of the squash paired with the savory sauce. Fried cheese curds with apple butter appetizer is a fun twist on the conventional fried cheese sticks. We've even been to brunch a few times. The muffins are a must. In general, I am a fan of chicken and waffles and couldn't wait to try them. I've only gotten them once at Union Straw and assumed it was just an off batch. My waffle was rock hard. Flavor on the chicken was good though. read more

Service was great. Water refills kept coming and the servers were polite and speedy. The food was absolutely amazing and very fairly priced. Very beautiful interior of restaurant. Very tough to get parking but other than that no complaints read more

Went for Sunday brunch and had a few mixed takeaways. Place is superbly decorated with good lighting and an overall vibrant energy that fits the Sunday brunch vibe perfectly. Cocktails were great, service was incredibly friendly and my coffee for once was really good! You don't always get great coffee at most restaurants I've found. Anyways, I ordered the hash of the day and was fairly let down. Big chunks of shredded corned beef mixed in what tasted like really unpleasing mashed potatoes; something was very off with those potatoes. Poached eggs were overdone hard balls of yolk. Biggest standout on the plate was the Irish soda bread. I'd definitely love to reconsider my review if I get a chance to return and can try another dish. read more

Excellent food and service! Brandon (the pen man) was so helpful and gave us the best recommendations! The restaurant is so warm and comfortable. The baked potato flat bread was delicious! We will definitely be back! read more

I wanted to LOVE it, yet I was left somewhat disappointed. I had brunch there this morning with my daughter and loved the atmosphere. First off, I've been wanting to try since it opened and I heard so many rave reviews from friends and others here in Foxboro. We walked in (party of 2) and the host had his back to us as he was sitting at the bar. After a few minutes he finally turned around and asked to seat us. It was shortly past 10 am on a Sunday morning, and he asked if we would be finished by 12:30 pm because they had a large party coming in then and he didn't want to move us in the middle of our meal if we would be hanging out. I found that odd...just there for brunch with my 15 year old...not like we were a large party or a couple on a date. We waited a very long time for our waiter to finally come over to great us. We did have a nice young female server fill our water glasses and let us know what the specials were and that our server would be with us shortly. When he finally came, I asked him to review 2 of the specials that I was debating between. We ordered right away. We ordered coffees. About 15 mins passed and still no coffees brought to us. He did walk by several times and one of those times he stopped and asked how everything was. Ummmm, We were drinking water. That's it. For 15 mins waiting on 2 coffees and our meals. I politely asked for our coffees again. He finally brought them out but no creamer or milk. He had to go back to get that. When our meals finally came out (mind you it was not a packed house), the special I ordered did not come as it was described. I asked him about this and he did not know. I had specifically ordered the Hash Special because it came with homemade Irish soda bread. Instead it showed up with white toast. After several minutes he came back and said they had run out. Better communication would have been important between the servers and the kitchen. Meanwhile, 2 new parties were seated near us and I heard this same special spouted out to them. Knowing the products and meals available is important. Again, I wanted to love it but left disappointed. I would say the hash was average. Not much corned beef in it for the price. The poached eggs were good. Just wish there had been more corned beef in the hash. It didn't have a lot of flavor either. I will have to try the restaurant again, perhaps for dinner. Just leery to with pricing versus the quality and the inexperienced waitstaff that I experienced. read more

Good food and service! Went out on a Tuesday night for my birthday! Personally I prefer mash potatoes with my steak but it was all good ... husband wasn't a fan of his Brussels sprouts. Cute place! .. would go back for drinks and appetizers with friends! read more

Outstanding food! I ordered the cod with Brussel sprouts and mashed potatoes. Could not have been better! ashes potatoes were absolutely perfect (not too soupy) and not too mashed. The cod was crusted and had capers mixed throughout. Wonderful dinner. read more

Food and service was the BEST!!!!! Our server Kiara was amazing from start to finish. Totally recommend her!!!! We had appetizers and entrees: all which were amazing and we left clean plates. So, came here for an anniversary dinner with 4 of our friends. So party of 6! We started with some apps: truffle fries, nachos and cheese curds. Our server, Kiara, is one of the best servers we have encountered in a LONG time. If we come back we will be asking for her specifically and would say for everyone to do the same. Dinner was some salmon, grilled brisket grilled cheese, autumn stir fry x2, and the Kama Jama chicken sandwich. Coming back in a heart beat! Kiara you were amazing and don't ever lose that Texas accent! read more

WOW.....delicious food, friendly & attentive staff (Liv), relaxed setting. In town for family event and will definitely try to come back.

Excellent eating experience! From the hospitable bartenders (Celena & Devon) who served us some unique and flavorful cocktails, to our meals that were delicious! A beautiful presentation, and a wonderful dessert menu. We recommend it to everyone! read more

This place was really disappointing and we wanted it to be good. The brunch food was not at all enjoyable. The hash browns were cold and seemed like grocery store frozen quality. The drinks had no ice in them and the coffee was watery and not good. read more

Delicious food! We were a large party and all got different dishes, but we all enjoyed the food. Ribeye was delicious with an amazing sauce/glaze. Salmon was good and perfectly cooked, the sauce it comes with is DELICIOUS and I wish it had more. Shrimp with gnocchi was very tasty. Chicken and waffles were made well and the dipping sauce was delicious too. Everything was well down and highly recommended although service was kind of slow. read more

Got takeout the other night and was disappointed. Ordered the pulled pork plate for $15.00. Came with beans, Cole slaw and corn bread. Pork was mostly burnt pieces, not much real meat. Slaw was dry and the cornbread even dryer. Beans were the high point of the meal. Very disappointed read more

Hostesses don't seem to know their own hours... was told at 2pm that we could be seated around 2:30 but no food until 3 as they were switching over from brunch. Came back in at 2:35 and was then told we couldn't be sat until 3. We went elsewhere. read more

This place completely nailed everything. From the service, atmosphere, to the drinks and apps! Parker was amazing and extremely attentive to us. The pulled pork and ribs were delicious. The cornbread was moist and not dry at all. The truffle fries... the truffle fries!!!! So good 10/10. read more

Tried a new restaurant in Foxborough last night called Union Straw. It's an old American Legion that was completely gutted out and made into a very cool trendy looking place. Exposed beams, antique lanterns and barn wood tables give a fresh vibe atmosphere. We arrived early and was able to be seated without a reservation in their back room. Seemed like there were some open tables in the front but where being held for reservations. Good to know and we will make a reservation next time. Started off with a great friendly waitress and some well made drinks. Wine choice was good but a short pour in my opinion. My Moscow mule was tasty. The menu is limited during their initial startup but enough choices to keep the family happy. We had shrimp stew, short ribs, flat bread pizza and starter chicken. Meals came out in no time and all where well presented and looked delicious. My shrimp stew was delicious with plenty of veggies and rice. More shrimp than I expected and I couldn't finish it. I may suggest a little less salt in the recipes. Everyone else loved their meals. So much we didn't have room for dessert. Though the table next had the cookies and milk which look fun. We will definitely be back. Give a new place a try and see if you have the same experience. read more

This was our third visit to Union Straw, and like the first two, it was great. The menu has a lot of variety, and even the menu items that are usually straightforward, like burgers, have options to change them up a bit. Our server was friendly and responsive, the fries were excellent , and my wife got some sort of mixed drink concoction that she said was great. We'll certainly be back. read more

We were so excited to try the Union Straw. We were able to get a seat at the bar. The food looked great but was mediocre. Seating at the bar we noticed the bartender pouring drinks and consistently shorted the martini drinks, or it appeared the glasses were never full.. We ordered dessert martinis and they were served in a short martini glass also not very full. We mentioned such to the bartender who was annoyed and said they were a "measured pour". If you think it's only cocktails, it's not. My husband was served 3/4s of a beer with his meal because the keg "kicked"! read more

THIS PLACE SHOULD BE 5 STARS!!! Went to one brunch spot where the wait was 1.5 hours. Hopped on yelp and stumbled upon the Union Straw. I am GLAD I did!! Attended Sunday brunch. Had zero wait time and was seated immediately. Our waitress, Sophia, was quick, polite and got out drink order started right away. I had the One Cool Mama which was delicious. For brunch I had the Southern Belle French toast which was oh my god melt in your mouth good! (1 day later and I am still thinking about it) My boyfriend had the hash-brown special which he said was "amazing" and my friend had the cinnamon roll French toast which she too loved. The atmosphere is great. The staff is spectacular. The food is out of this world. I now can not wait to go back for dinner. (Heard the Mac and Cheese is fantastic as well!) read more

Amber provided incredible service and we loved all of her recommendations. Definitely recommend coming here.

Went there for dinner last night and the overall experience was good . Apple cider sangria was nice , smash burger & bbq ribs were delicious . Way way way better than Chilis. However, the kettle chips and fries looked like they've been under the heat lamp for a while. For the price, I expected them to be freshly made fresh. I would definitely come back . read more

Stopped by for dinner and ate at bar. Servers were okay. Wine menu is small. Dinner menu nice variety. We ordered the chips which took a while to come. Believe server was not watching so came out cold. I ordered the duck grilled cheese was excellent and husband ordered ribeye. Ribeye was okay would not order again. Seating available inside and outside. Nice location. read more

The first impression was positive, looked like a clean and nicely decorated restaurant. We had to wait a little bit for the hostess to come, we had to wait 20 or so mins. which was fine but a group of 3 came in and were told if they did t mind sitting in a high top they would be seated quickly and they were no one gave us that option, we would of taken it. Once seated our waitress was sweet and nice, glasses filled with water and we ordered drinks. My como took a good 20 minutes to come, she blamed it on the fact that there was only one bartender, she was apologetic. When I finally received it was good ; ) Food: husband ordered waffles and fried chicken which was fantastic.... butter was AMAZING! I got the western omelette, they ran out of ham so they substituted it with bacon. My order took a little bit to come after my husbands so when it finally came I was pretty full from picking from his plate. From the few pieces I ate it was good : ) Overall pretty good and I would come back. They still have to work out the kinks with the food coming out at different times and drinks. read more

The Manager just contacted me and just tried to say that two low reviews are from the same dining experience. She is saying that my companion John also gave a poor review. I don't know a John, and my husband Rich was with me, not a John. This is a really bad way to address my review. Obviously this manager cannot realize that there is a recurring problem with their restaurant, instead she's trying to say it's one bad combined experience. Again, who serves refrigerator cold corn bread mini loaves and Busch's baked beans, along with dry pulled pork for 16.00? read more
