Union Electric is clean and talented. I went in March of this year to Big Five for my first big custom tattoo because I had seen his work and it was the style I was looking for. It came out better than I could have ever pictured on my own and I am so proud of it. Big Five and all the guys there are accommodating and respectful. This place rocks and I already have an appointment for my next tattoo. Checking out their website, unionelectrictattoo.com , is a must so that you can see out the variety of talent and how consistently awesome their art is. Big5 is the only person to tatto me with the exception of one piece that was done by somebody else that used to work at Union Electric. The shop is full of talent and every artist offers a little something different. You can always get want you want. The joint is clean, the moods are good and you'll hear music ranging fom Cash to The Clash from The Beach Boys to The Beastie Boys, some Luis Armstrong and back to Wu-Tang. There's loads of stuff to look at all over the place. The shop itself, has a lot of personality and the whole staff make you feel welcomed to be there. I travel 250 miles for my tattoos, I do it because it's worth it. I have nothing but good things to say about BIG5 and his crew at Union Electric. Go there and find out for yourself! read more

i am from Michigan and did not know where to get a tattoo in the south bay, so i called around. i talked to Jon and he was very polite and helpful, i only have 3 tattoos so i am not a seasoned tattoo getter. anyway, he explained everything to me without the attitudes and dick hole ish vibes that i got from the other shops i called. more importantly he did some really nice script on my self and my friend, he took the extra time to draw it up a couple times to get it exactly how i wanted ti. tattoo came out AMAZING, healed up in a few days and still looks great ( its been a few months). i would highly recommend him to anyone who wants to get a tattoo. thanks Jon Daniel! read more

I have known Big 5 for a couple years now and was introduced through a mutual friend. I don't live in the area so I have not visited the shop just yet, but they came up a couple years ago to a local tattoo convention. I had been emailing Big 5 prior to his visit about what I wanted and he did not disappoint. He knew exactly what I wanted and had it ready to go once I got to the convention. Being a regular customer of Boomer McLennan's HUCKLEBERRY PEN (and Cigars) in the next building across and within eyesight from Tattoo's Tattoo Shop, I couldn't believe my eyes when I discovered that there was a tattoo shop in Palos Verdes/Rolling Hills which is, well, an older, more conservative and rather affluent neighborhood. I'm just speaking frankly; don't hate! Before heading to North Redondo, my temporary amnesia luckily subsided and I asked my wife to call this shop to ask if they performed (?) piercings and yep, they sure do, so off we went with the victim (!!) in tow. The place is perched directly above Sensation Nail Spa at 717 Deep Valley Drive...and it's HUGE, although frankly, I've only been in one other tattoo shop before. But it goes quite deep, with many separate tattoo studios (?) and on a Tuesday afternoon at 3:30pm, I was shocked to see every single room was full with customers. The staff is super friendly and appropriately heavily inked. We were taken to the very back to the well Halloween-decorated "Dungeon" where we met the lovely Chase (@stabbedbychase) who was very professional, kind and gentle with our daughter. And she put up with me and my sometime awkward questions and comments!
