I came in and she called my name, she kept talking to me in Spanish and I had to tell her I don't speak Spanish and I don't understand her. I laid down and she started waxing my eyebrows without shaping them or even asking me how I like my brows, I told her I want them straight at the end and she said ok but she still left them curved, she missed a couple hairs and when I said something she made me feel weird about it. She kept waxing the same area over and over again which left my skin irritated and I'm hoping it won't turn into a scar. They said I'd get 50% my service because I'm a first time customer but when it was time to check out she didn't apply it for them so For 38 dollars I'd expect a lot better service. This location seems bigger than the one I usually go to in South Miami. The staff isn't as friendly at the front desk as compared to other locations. And for some reason the wax affected my skin differently than other locations. Not sure if I'll return to this location hence my 3 star review, but I am willing to give it a try if I'm in a hurry or have a wax emergency.. the vibe is nice and pleasant. On Friday, 9/9/22. I made an appointment online for the following Friday, 9/16/22 at 12:00 PM. I received the usual initial text and email confirmation as soon as I booked the appointment. On Thursday, 9/15/22 at 7:56 AM I received a text asking me to confirm my appointment by replying. I replied as soon as I saw the text on my work break at 11:17 AM to confirm. At 12:05 PM I received a text back stating Uni k was looking forward to seeing me for my scheduled appointment the following day. One hour and 20 minutes later, I received a text stating that due to no confirmation my appointment was given to someone else. Imagine my surprise! I immediately call the office to figure out what is going on and Paola, who states she is the front desk manager tells me I did not confirm my appointment and therefore it was given to someone else. I explain that that is definitely not the case since I have the confirmation text from Uni k directly stating my appointment is set and they "look forward to seeing me." Paola basically tells me that's too bad and the best she can do is give me a different appointment. I explain that I made the appointment at a specific time one week in advance because that is when I can make it. She insists it is my fault for not confirming and offers a discount for my next visit. This adds insult to injury because I have no issue following their confirmation protocols, booking appointments, or paying for the service. A discount won't correct this situation. All I want is to come in for the appointment I scheduled a week in advance. This is the worst customer service experience I have ever had and it is extremely disappointing as I have been a customer of this location for years and of other Uni k wax locations for years before that. Paola's interactions with me were unprofessional and disrespectful. Her tone was rude, dismissive and exasperated. UNSANITARY and GAVE ME A TERRIBLE INFECTION. I have been getting my eyebrows waxed on and off here for a few years with only a minor breakout after each time. I have a few pesky hairs that grow from my chin that I was annoyed with and decided to get waxed. Worst decision of my life. I came down with a fever two days later, then the worst rash I have ever had. It is clear they do not use fresh wax for each person and G-d only knows the bacteria that is being applied with the wax. Now Katherine is at another location (which I found out from a mutual friend) because when I called the Pinecrest location, they kept telling me and other clients that Katherine is on vacation and they, 'Don't know when she will return.' Really? How do you NOT know when one of your employees is returning from vacation?? They just don't want to tell clients the truth, that Katherine is no longer there. They just want to force you to do your services with someone else, probably someone inexperienced. This was the first place I ever got a full Brazilian wax at , at first everything was fine and the girls were all good (then again I was new to the whole waxing thing and was completely unaware of "clean" techniques and etc) A few months in about 6 I started developing what I believed were ingrown hairs (the girls all just advised me To buy their products and exfoliate) meanwhile they continued to wax me ( double dipping the stick if I may add) even though my skin was clearly infected Like I said I was younger and stupid and just took their word for it (meanwhile I was super embarrassed and my skin was getting very infected , I tried everything I could to fix it) it got to the point where I couldn't take it anymore, and finally went to the dr (something I should have done months prior) I was diagnosed with a staph infection and had to be but on oral and topical meds (2 cycles to be exact) it was horrible /embarrassing / traumatizing I talked to the manager about the issue I had & about how his employees do not practice clean techniques (double dipping etc) and although he was very nice his excuse for the double dipping was that the hot wax kills bacteria.... FALSE ! It takes a temp above 100 degrees to kill bacteria (wax at that temperature would severely burn the skin) needless to say I have not been back to Unik or anywhere because I'm scared My advice is to make sure your technician doesn't double dip the stick & that they was their hands/ wear Gloves and disinfect your skin before you allow them to rip the hair From the follicle and put you at risk read more

I was hesitant to get a full brazilian wax from someone who I hadn't known for any more than 2 minutes but they really make the experience comfortable (or as comfortable as you could possibly be!) I don't necessarily get the same person every time I go (I'm sure you can ask for an appt with the same person, I just don't care enough) but everyone I've dealt with is always professional and the place is VERY clean. The brazilian bikini wax is painful but it gets better as you go-- they also use wax with no strips which I like because I feel like the strips make it MORE painful. Oh Man, Yes!!! It is one thing to get the eyes done, it's another to trust your most sensitive parts to a complete stranger. What a great experience for something that is SOOOOO PAINFUL. Professional yet friendly!!! I was reluctant to spent extra $$$ for something I perceived as a gimmick. Went one day with a girl friend because she had an appointment. What the heck, might as well get cleaned up too. The experience was fine, but nothing to write home about. Very clean facility, warm and responsive receptionist and a fine job done. What changed? I decided not to be a hippy girl and give the BF a surprise. What we do for love. (UGH!) The Full Bikini is NOTHING like getting the eyebrows cleaned up. This is serious stuff! Honestly, I can't even believe I'm giving 'Uni K' such a low rating because I really like this company. I recently moved and started coming to this location. I'm writing this review as I leave from my second experience. I would have written a review for the first time I came, which was also bad, but I decided to give it another shot. The first time I came I was treated very poorly. I did confuse my series package and thought I still had one left. However, the receptionist was very harsh and almost threateningly told me I wasn't going to leave without paying. Mind you I had no intention of leaving or not paying and never did I say or act that way. I left it to just a misunderstanding and that she was having a bad day. Today was my second time there. The wax specialist seemed rushed. For some reason this location doesn't have the handheld mirrors, or she didn't want to use them. I got up five times to try to show her a hair that was still missed. She was nice about it but made comments like, "I don't see it" and "There's nothing I can do if it's not coming out." Once she saw that I was continuing to show it to her, she called another employee. That woman came in and said that she had an issue with me last time and that I had been there a few times. I said this is my second time and you haven't serviced me. She insisted. I then, again and very confused, told her she had not and she told the other woman, in front of me, that I was a problem! The woman that originally was helping me told her that she couldn't find the hair and she said, "I can't either, that's exactly what happened last time." Mind you at this point she has not even looked at my nose. I am in no way, shape, or form a difficult customer. I was so in shock and do not understand how an employee can talk about a client in front of them or continue to tell a client they are wrong. Long story short, I asked the wax specialist for the tweezer and literally took it out in a second, then put it on my finger and showed it to her. Needless to say, I will not be coming back to this location. I would rather drive 20 more minutes to a farther location than to go to a place for a service and then have to finish the job myself, as I had to do there and then in the car.I hope the business takes this as a constructive criticism. They double dip their stick into the same pot they use on other people. Just awful. She did not do ANY post care on me although I SAW the gel lotion labeled "post bikini". I've been coming here for a long time to get my brows waxed because I work across the street, so the location is ideal, however, the experience I had on Friday night was infuriating. I booked an appointment online at 6pm. I get there a bit early, at 5:50. I wait....and wait....and wait. At one point, a walk-in comes in and they take her first! What!?! Finally, after 30 minutes I walked up to the receptionist. I asked how much longer it was going to be, because my appointment was at 6pm. She said "well, you booked online." I said "Why does it matter in what manner I booked the appointment? An appointment is an appointment!" She looked at me like I had 9 heads. She's like "well, she's doing a back wax so it's going to be another 5-10 minutes." At that point, I let her know how unacceptable this was, told her I wasn't waiting any longer, grabbed my stuff and walked out. Didn't get waxed and wasted 30+ minutes of my life, and yet a woman who walked-in with no appointment got taken before me. If their online appointment system doesn't function properly, why do they have it? More importantly, that's not my problem! If I book an appointment at 6pm, I expect to be taken relatively on time. Moral of the story, these people don't know what they're doing with booking appointments, so if you want to go, call them and make sure when you call that the appointment time they're giving you is the actual appointment time so you don't sit there waiting forever. Katherine waxed me, she tried to be as quick as possible making the experience as painful as possible. I haven't gotten waxed In almost a year so I understand it's painful but It's never been that painful, I've never stopped half way because of the pain. I wanted a full Brazilian front and back but I couldn't sit through It. She slapped on ALOT of hot wax, It was so messy the wax got on my stomach and thighs, and That was no fun to take off when I got home. I kept telling her to be careful with the wax because it was too close to my labia and she just kept saying it's fine relax, and what do you know, I get home with wax all over it. My clothes were full of baby powder and wax, the whole this was just messy and uncomfortable. Very bad experience, not relaxing at all whatsoever. Apparently, this brand is a franchise and you can tell this one does not prioritize quality. I gave this location two tries. The first time, the employee got lazy toward the end and left a lot of dried wax on my skin. Today I had a scheduled appointment and arrived on time. My assigned wax applier was 30 minutes late and did not apologize. She was also really messy and rushing (this would have been incredibly painful for a first-time waxer), which if you read other reviews on here seems to be a trend. This is my favorite Unik of all time. Waxing, for me, is a horrible experience no matter what, so whether I like a place is all about how nice the people are. This is the only Unik I've been to where everyone, including the receptionist, is nice. Appointments are always available at this location, even during the holidays, and I have never had to wait more than 10 minutes. I usually don't wait at all and they take me early. Unik waxers are always very very thorough. And the best thing about Unik is how FAST they are. This location is no exception. I always go out of my way to come to the Pinecrest location when I'm home in Miami. It's so worth it. read more

She was immediately very rude and not in the least bit welcoming, which you would expect considering she's about to be all up in my business. I decided against my wax and had to unfortunately reschedule my shoot for a later date. I have been going to Uni K locations for around 2 years because they have ALWAYS taken great care of me and been nothing but kind. DOUBLE DIPPED!!!! Staff were friendly however my tech double dipped the applicator during my Brazilian bikini wax. This is a huge health and safety risk. I only realized this after my wax was complete when there were on 2 applicators in the garbage can with all my used wax and the wax from the person before me.
