Scheduling this company and receiving a quote that was SPOT on, was amazing. The communication from Ana was perfect. She kept me in the loop about arrival time, send out a confirmation about my booking, and even helped me change my original date to something sooner. Originally, I was quoted a timeframe between 1-5pm, they showed up an hour EARLIER! To some this may have been the part where you panic, especially if you are running small items back and forth to your new place, to me?? This was PERFECT, because I was able to have a headstart for my long moving day. The truck was large enough, both movers came in and were polite, patient, and did not make me feel uncomfortable when handling my items. They wrapped all dressers, tv stands, coffee tables, and TVs and ensured everything was delivered carefully. No frills, no stalling for extra time (you do get charged hourly if you exceed your allowed time), and just straight to business. All in all, I do recommend booking for your next move, the price is unbeatable and the workers are great. Once again thank you very much!

So after receiving a few quotes from a handful of businesses, I went with Potomac Moving due to the speed of their response, clarity in communication, pricing and overall warmth and professionalism. In our first phone call to walk though my needs, they were very assuring and accommodating, which is a such a relief in the midst of stress and coordination that comes with planning for a move. They were also always very responsive in the few times that I reached out between the time I paid the deposit and the actual move. A night or two before, I sent at email regarding wardrobe boxes, since I was debating whether or not I should buy and have a few delivered to me. The owner responded quickly, assuring me that wardrobe boxes were tried, true and if I wanted to buy any directly from them that I could. That ended up being a great call, because they were able to properly enforce the boxes so that even the boxes filled with my heaviest coats remained in tact. On the day of the move, the movers were communicative regarding their arrival time. They were also very nice and hard working. I had a few large furniture items that needed to be disassembled and they ended up being quite beasts to tackle. But they worked diligently to break them down. Once it came time to move things to my new place, that was a breeze. One gesture that I thought was just so classy, was the owner called in the middle of the move to check-in on how things were going - I really appreciated that. Overall, would definitely recommend PMC - they're easy to work with, fair and transparent about pricing and you're sure to be met with professionalism!

They kept me informed throughout the process and were extremely trustworthy and personable, especially when I had to run out of the house to handle something leaving them alone and when I ended up having more items than originally planned for the move. I am extremely happy with the results and will definitely be using and recommending them to friends and family in the future. Thank you Carlos and Jonathan for your help! Overall, my move was a little over $800 (took about 5 hours with 2 movers for a local move from a 3-story townhome to a 2-story condo ) and I gave a generous tip considering the amount of work they did. Services: Furniture disassembly and reassembly, small furniture moving, wrapping pictures, mirrors and frames, moving storage boxes.

I reached out…read moreto a few places for quotes and Serena responded quickly with an estimate and a clearly explained breakdown. The estimate was in line with the other companies I reached out to but they were the only company that provided a time estimate, and that was really helpful for me to feel like I could truly get an idea of my likely final cost range (assuming I didn't add anything major to my moving list). Booking was easy and done entirely online and then via email and text message for confirmations. My movers were Luca and Alpha. The called about 40 minutes before the start time to let me know their ETA, which was actually about 10 minutes before the arrival window started so we were off to a great start. Moving day is always nerve-wracking and adding strangers into the mix can be unpredictable, but they both took the time to introduce themselves by name and were so polite, kind, and calm right off the bat that it was a huge relief. We did a quick walkthrough of the house and they asked for clarifications or more information at times, which was great because I felt like they were really listening and paying attention to my comments and concerns. Then the move itself was smooth and uneventful. I didn't have any concerns about my furniture because I saw them wrapping everything up securely. At one point, a screw came loose from one of my table legs. Alpha found me to ask if I knew about any issues with the legs on that table. I told him it was a second-hand table so I wasn't sure, but asked if it was a big issue. He said no, and that he could put the screw back in, but he wanted other make sure I knew it had happened. I know that's partially because they don't want to be blamed for something they didn't do, but I still appreciated that they called it to my attention right away so there weren't any issues or questions later, and that he was able to fix it for me. Once we got to the new place, they took the time to ask where I wanted specific furniture or boxes to go in my new place so that I wouldn't have to move it all to a different room later. They wrapped up just a little ahead of the estimated time and it was super convenient to pay with Venmo. All-in-all it was a great experience and I'd use them again if I'm moving in the area.

I had had a great experience with them just last year when I last moved and knew they'd be able to get the job done again. My project was immediately responded to and they were able to help me move two weeks later on their soonest available date. The three movers, Pat, Renaldo, and Kevin were incredible. Communication leading up to the move and theday of was great. They were able to move all my large furniture within 2 hours. Everything was wrapped carefully and efficiently. They were kind and thoughtful, helping me make adjustments to the furniture layout once we got to the destination. Their positivity through one of the hardest situations I've ever gone through was much-needed and made me feel confident in entering this next chapter. I even had a last minute change to the destination (originally everything was going into storage but I ended up finding an apartment just in time), and the professionalism and patience from the entire Bookstore team through this change was excellent. Pricing was reasonable yet again and came out to about $500 (excluding tip) for the truck fee and moving of 16 large items. Thank you Bookstore Movers for helping me when I needed it most!

We were disappointed with our recent experience with Bookstore Movers. The crew was polite, but the…read moremove felt much slower and less efficient than it should have been. We had a dedicated elevator, yet workers often brought items down only one or two at a time. I also saw team members on their phones or standing around in rooms and hallways instead of actively moving things. These delays added up quickly. The crew also misplaced parts of our bed frame, and the pieces had to be found before it could be reassembled. That alone added nearly an hour to the move. Because the move took much longer than expected, the final cost was significantly higher than the estimate we received. We were also charged based on an arrival time that was recorded as ten minutes earlier than when the crew actually arrived. The team was courteous, but given the inefficiency, added time, and higher final price, we would not use Bookstore Movers again. This is unfortunate, because we had been happy with them in previous moves.

This review is long overdue. I needed time before writing it because I was recovering from a…read morepersonal tragedy. Around February 2026, in the middle of grieving a significant personal loss, we had to relocate from Virginia to Dallas. It was already one of the most difficult periods of our lives, and we trusted Gorilla Haulers to make at least the moving process less stressful. Instead, it became one of the worst experiences my family has ever been through. We spoke with Eli, provided a detailed inventory list, and chose Gorilla Haulers based on their online ratings and reviews, as well as the assurance that we would have an experienced moving crew. We trusted those promises. On moving day, 5 movers arrived. We were surprised by how many people showed up, but we didn't think much of it at the time. It quickly became obvious that they were not professional movers. Most of them spent time watching YouTube videos, chatting, laughing, and generally having fun instead of working. They were not taking the job seriously at all. They moved at an incredibly slow pace, and they even admitted that it was their first day on the job. This was completely different from what Eli Jones had told us about sending an experienced crew. What should have been a routine move turned into an exhausting 11 hour ordeal. Boxes were packed with very few items in them, many belongings were packed carelessly, and several items were damaged. Because the crew worked so slowly and inefficiently, they eventually ran out of time, leaving approximately 10-15% of our belongings behind. We were left to deal with the remaining items ourselves after an already exhausting day. To make matters worse, we were charged nearly double what we had expected. Considering the quality of service we received, it felt completely unjustified. Since then, we have completed another interstate move with a different moving company, and the experience was night and day. That move was organized, efficient, professional, and completed exactly as it should have been. It confirmed that what we experienced with Gorilla Haulers was not normal--it was simply unacceptable. I'm sharing this review not out of anger, but in the hope of helping other families avoid the experience we had. We chose this company because of its online reviews, but based on our experience, those reviews did not reflect the quality of service we received. I would encourage anyone considering Gorilla Haulers to look beyond the ratings, do thorough research, and be very cautious before trusting them with your move. Looking back on that day still brings tears to my eyes. It added unnecessary stress and heartbreak during one of the hardest times in our lives. I sincerely hope no other family has to go through what we did.

Third, they took great care with our very very heavy and awkward sofabed and managing our small space in a DC home. They covered the sofa with blankets to move it, protected walls, etc. even though it was an "in-home move." Additionally, Alex and Ostop made the extra effort to assist with reassembly of doors thst had to be removed and the feet of the sofa. If we ever need movers again, we will definitely call them.

The price for the service was reasonable, especially considering how tedious these tasks would have been for me to do alone. Special thanks to Stepan for making the process smooth and for being readily available, even during the weekend.

Called a couple times to get an ETA since I didn't get any notice of any potential delays, but no answers. Finally, at 11:45am they arrive and begin to load the truck without wrapping and prepping to help prevent any damage during the move. As a result, as shown in pictures, a large floor mirror was completely cracked, paint was chipped off from dresser drawers, and a chair now only has 3 legs. Boxes were poorly stacked as heavier boxes were placed on top of other boxes that caused the boxes underneath to cave in. Also, an unopened bottle of white Hennessy that cannot be bought in the states went "missing" from a rolling cooler that I just happen to pack right before they arrived and started loading the truck. I was originally quoted $495 ($297 + $99 truck fee + $99 for an extra stop that was 1 mile away). When payment was requested, the total somehow came to $597. As I had concerns with how the total came to $597, one of the movers called Henry, and unbeknown to Henry, he was on speaker and began the call by saying "this lady (me) is killing me" as if I was late, as if I provide poor service, as if I incorrectly quoted services. Henry offered a "discount" of $34 for the late arrival, 2 hours and 45 minutes after the scheduled start time. My entire experience with this moving company was disappointing to say the very least. So disappointing that I've taken the time to write this review in hopes that this will save someone else unnecessary added stress during a move.
