We are in Dennis for the week-end and I needed o find good coffee. Thanks Yelp! This place has a good selection of fresh coffee. Blueberry scone was excellent...not too sweet. My wife said her croissant was "fresh and good." We'll be back. read more

D-LISH!!!! We went here to find my niece who is vegan something yummy for lunch to take to the lake! And voila we found a yummy vegan grilled cheese, and the gooiest vegan brownie!!! We also got ceasar salads and cupcakes that were so good the chocolate was way better than the vanilla!!! read more

Delish and strong coffee! I love a bakery that offers hot breakfast options, and this place does. I had an egg wrap with avacado and tomato and it was large and fresh. Tasted great! The bakery items looked amazing, did not try. Was at a wedding shower with a cake from there and it was decadent and massive. Chocolate with ganache and raspberry truffle - yum,. yum, yum! read more

What an awesome place to be. I ended up here because my partner is friends with one of the kick ass chefs/managers that work here and has been working here for eons. Her name is Laurie and she belongs on a cooking show she is the ish! Literally, I was so tempted to try all the pastries in the case, by the way we came here October 2019. Why'd it take me so long to write the review? Well the place is so cutty I almost forgot about it. And then one day my parter said "my best friend is the F*****g S**t" and I said why'd you say that? Her reply was look at this and it was an amazing photo of some food she'd made at home. I was impressed and felt like I didn't want her talents to go unnoticed so I'm taking my sweet old time thanking her. We were treated like family in the place we sat with one of the regulars who was THRILLED to be chatty cats with us ladies. I liked the environment it felt safe and really homey, her customer service was everything that I would want and expect I've seen her interact with about 5-7 customers while we were there. She had a vegan meatloaf that she was kind enough to serve us and man oh man was it packed full of flavor. She's been cooking for a long time so I hear, hopefully these praises brighten up your day Laurie because you are oh so deserving of it. She sent us home with a few pasties even though I was the main person wanting them. But right then and there I really knew that she and my boo were REAL friends. read more

Funky little cafe worth seeking out! Great coffee and pastry selections as well as awesome sandwiches, pies and cakes, and even ramen! Lots of vegan options too. Can't wait to go back and try more of their offerings. read more

Underground Bakery - a bowl of ramen with meat and vegetables - Bakeries Near Me - Dennis, Massachusetts

The bakery items are all delicious. However, the offering of Vietnamese Iced coffee is completely wrong. The basis of this delight is sweetened condensed milk. Nothing else will do. By not using the proper ingredient lactose intolerant folks are exposed to whatever they put in it (not cooked milk and sugar) and thus the result of consuming such. read more

Sandwiches are tasty but snack sized - we left feeling SO hungry. Would go back to try the baked goods which looked very tasty.

Really good! Lots of vegan options which is great since we're plant based and our kids have dairy & egg allergies. The price is a bit high for the size of the sandwiches but they're very good. Lots of kombucha options, drinks, fresh juices and smoothies. We've had the falafel burger and vegan grilled cheese with spinach and avocado, both were excellent. The juice we ordered was a bit heavy on the ginger but still good. Love that they have paper straws instead of plastic too! read more

We drove 20 minutes to come here because they had both vegan options and meat options, so I knew everyone would be happy. Unfortunately the vegan tofu scramble burrito was the most bland thing I've ever eaten (this is why people think vegan food is gross). I actually had to put ketchup on it to make it palatable. The vegan brownie was decent, and the meat options were not much better (what I was told) read more

Got an everything bagel, the green monstah smoothie and an ice coffee. The only reason this is 2 stars as opposed to 1 is because the ice coffee wasn't bad. The bagel tasted store bought and they didn't even put the cream cheese on the bagel! Not to mention the inadequate amount of cream cheese they gave me to put a thin layer on the top. The green monster didn't taste anything like apple and was filled with chunks of cucumber, wouldn't not recommend read more

LOVE THIS PLACE!! I drive there almost everyday for lunch or breakfast. Casey & Bob make the best rice bowl custom to my request. The owners always make me feel welcome and are super Friendly. Thanks to the entire Underground Bakery fam! ;-) read more

I love the Underground Bakery & their staff. This is the BEST bakery in a 100 mile radius! Their vegan products are just as delicious as non vegan. I depend on the Underground Bakery for all of my needs! read more

Best vegan mac and cheese ever, hands down. And I'm not even vegan (cheese just doesn't appreciate my love...apparently.) The ramen is amazing too! And the cold brew! And everything! Everyone here is always really welcoming too, and you can tell that the employees really enjoy their jobs. read more

Great food, pastry and coffee. Location is comfortable and the people working there are very pleasant. Sometimes there is a wait and prices may be higher then you may expect but it's well worth it. read more

I can't get enough of the underground bakery when my boyfriend and I are in town. It really is a hidden gem, we usually get one if their homemade scones or donuts. They have an assortment of breakfast items to wraps & paninis, soups & salads and vegan options. Can't wait to go back this weekend :) read more

Go here!! I'm a vegetarian, so I love this place. They have all kinds of lovely vegan delights; however, all of my friends are meat-eaters and they equally enjoy the food here (filled with sausage and bacon for their meaty appetites!). They have wonderful sweet treats and delightful coffee. The atmosphere is also great. I love to just sit and chat with friends over a coffee and a dessert. read more

They did an incredible cake for my parents 60th Anniversary. Perfect vanilla cake with cannoli filling and fresh fruit, topped off with delicious buttercream frosting Thank you so much!! Susan Sweeney read more

Vegans beware...Let me preface this by saying I am a vegan so I cannot speak as to the deliciousness of the menu items....I wish I could, but after driving an hour to get there, there were no vegan options available. According to the menu posted on-line they had black bean tacos, falafel burgers and vegan treats. Not only did they not have any of that available, but the girl behind the counter was not apologetic or nice at all. So don't be fooled by happy cow or any other veg/vegan sites, this does not appear to be a vegan friendly place at all. read more

This bakery used to be Buckies and I thought it was still owned by the same people until I went back recently and bought some biscotti. Not good. They still have good coffee and a lot f the same cookies, although I can't tell you if they're particularly good or not. read more

I hate to give a low rating to a small bakery, bc I know it's not easy to survive in this business, but at the same time, I want yelpers to know where to get better food! Tried a "French doughnut" here...otherwise known as a dirt bomb at Cottage St Bakery in Orleans 10 miles away--dry and dense at Underground. Carrot cake cupcake was also subpar. read more

Great drinks and sweets! Great owners! They have a great hot caramel apple cider....tastes just like a melted caramel apple. We ordered a pecan pie for Thanksgiving. Just had some and it's the best we've ever tasted. They also have yummy chocolate peanut butter bars. read more

I tried going back again and giving this place another chance before summer season to see if it's worth fighting the crowds later. Nope. I don't know what the problem is with the pastries - and I use that word loosely - but they are dry and/or stale. Lots of variety in the place - but too much. Need to stick to what they do well and elimate the rest. Trying to be everything to everyone instead of really good at something. Dry cake, cookies, etc. isn't it. Blech. The coffee is good but how hard is that. read more

I love the Underground Bakery! It's one of the few places in the mid-cape area with a solid vegan menu. (tofu scramble and their baked goods are wonderful) I took my wrap to the beach and left half in the sand while I took a swim. A dog passed by and stole my sandwich, but I guess that even dogs love underground's vegan menu! I've been frequenting this cafe this summer after going with a friend. Staff is always kind and accommodating and it really does feel like an underground hidden gem. Be sure the check this place out, vegan or otherwise! read more

This is a terrific place to grab coffee, awesome pastries and some snacks. The staff is friendly and helpful as well. The muffins are great. read more

Do you crave made-to-order avgolemono at 9 AM? Then this is the place to go! Delicious and inventive baked goods and breakfast sandwiches that we're flying out the door while we sat and savored. Great stuff! read more

Not only is the staff extremely friendly (even at 6am) the food and coffee here at UB is amazing. I recently had the breakfast sandwich - egg, cheese, prosciutto, truffle oil on a toasted pannini - it was fantastic. The eggs were fluffy and delicious, the cheese perfectly melted over the bread - it was simply fantastic. If you are on Rt. 6 in Dennis, be sure to stop by - its worth the detour behind the Post Office! read more

This place has really great fresh made products. The food is always excellent and they have some great coffee, too. Problem is that it is over-priced and takes forever to get your food. 15-20 minutes for a breakfast sandwich is too long and makes no sense when only you and 3 other people are there, not a line down the street. Ive been a bunch of times, peak season and shoulder, always the same wait time. It honestly seems like what is going on outback is more their focus than the customers out front, making it hard to get someone's attention just to put your order in. It's too bad because the food really is top notch, I would go more frequently if it didn't take so long to get in and out. read more

Fresh bakery items made on premises. Scones, muffins, biscotti, etc. Bit steep on price 5 bakery items, two teas and egg panini $32! Friendly service. read more

This was a great find on a rainy day while we were exploring the area. Friendly staff and tasty coffee and food. Wish there was more space for extra seating. read more

Great breakfast sandwich and local feel. Latte was ok but a bit on the weak side considering I ordered 3 shots but decent flavor. Lots of options and would try it again. read more

I had a scrambled egg, prosciutto, cheese, and truffle oil dish that was delicious with Izze soda. My fiance enjoyed a breakfast panini. The meals were moderately sized so order a couple things if you're famished. The man taking our orders was humorous. I appreciated that they emphasize local food and reducing waste. It's a bit dark since it's literally half underground but there is a cozy, funky vibe that I enjoyed. We sat outside which was pleasant on a beautiful September day. Oh, right, the reason we went -- they serve breakfast until 3:30 (at least on Sunday)! read more

Went this morning and I had an eggie panini with cheddar cheese, bacon and avocado. Fantastic. Washed it down with a Vietnamese cold brew coffee. My wife had a veggie egg wrap and finished almost before I started mine. read more

To be fair, I would give 3.5 stars if that were possible. But, the disinterested, couldn't-care-less staff is what makes the decision to bump down to 3, rather than up to 4 stars. Food - was fairly tasty. Have to give huge props to the UB for being one of the few places in the area serving vegan food. For this reason, I was super excited to try it out. I had the tofu scramble burrito without the wrap and my bf had the seitan burger/panini. He rated the sandwich as "good" which is also what I would rate the tofu scramble. I had to add a bit of post-production flavor, but overall a good early lunch. They also had a small selection of vegan baked goods. We took a chocolate peanut butter bar for the road that was dang tasty and worth the calories. Service- Yeah...don't expect any warmth or smiles or "thank-yous" in this spot. They seem to expect you to just be happy that they deigned to ring up your order...so just go with that and you won't be disappointed. Also, no recycling. No bueno. read more

Went early afternoon so there wasnt too much left. M&M cookies and iced coffee were both very good. I didnt try anything else (pastries or sandwiches) but I would stop by again when I'm in the area. read more

I came in here and order a vegan Philly cheesesteak and vegan Mac and cheese. They were absolutely delicious. The staff was extremely nice and helpful! Someone in my party decided to order a smoothie and what was really off putting about the smoothie was the fact that it was warm and very liquidly. It has a very strange taste to it too. Tasting her smoothie made me not decide to spend the 6/7 dollars a smoothie cost. Their lattes were pretty good. Definitely worth checking out if you are in the area. Good food and good coffee! read more

Amazing breakfast pastries and lunch options. They have something for everyone and are very accommodating. They give back to the community and support the town they live in. Try the cinnamon swirls and their donuts. Their staff is very professional and friendly. Your dog will love it too- they have dog biscuits. You can't go wrong with this place. read more

The best breads ever, but you have to be a lover of nutty, grainy, healthy breads first. They have the best falafal sandwich and every time I go in I feel like they have added another awesome thing to their lunch/sandwich menu. The food is healthy and delish...perfect for yogis, gym rats, and vegetarians. Yup, I like it. Oh and the coffee is great too. read more

As a recent wash-ashore to the Cape, I have long regretted the dearth of comfort-food ramen that I'd grown so accustomed to in LA. Now that's all changed, with some of the best of the breed -- among the most soul-satisfying bowls I have ever encountered -- right here in Dennis Village. The traditional variation includes delicious chunks of chicken and grilled pork, plus a perfectly cooked and tasty hard-boiled egg, fresh broccoli, hearty mushrooms, fabulous kimchee, and more that I'm probably forgetting about. The broth? Both delicate and carrying a boatload of character. Perfect for these will-spring-ever-come afternoons. read more
