She knows her stuff, especially color. I get so many compliments on my color. (My hair is straight as a bone but apparently curly hair is her specialty - so keep that in mind, curly girls.) I have not had Katie style or color my hair but I have seen her work many times on other clients and she's amazing too, so you can't go wrong at this salon. They do nails as well, if you're looking for more than just hair services.

She truly listens to her clients to provide them with the outcome they are looking for. She truly cares and wants to collaborate together. While she skilled in all hair types, I can attest she a PRO with curly girl hair which is not easy. My hair is so much more manageable now that I have someone who knows how to work specifically with the unpredictability of curly hair. Cutting the curl where it wants to be rather than forcing into a space and it not falling correctly. Best haircut, styling, and color! Wherever I go, I am complimented and asked who my stylist is. I am only too happy to share the information of Nicole D. Call her today !!!

They are in a temporary location at 201 Cate St. and thriving as they find a new permanent home. If you want to know more about the staff, look at reviews for Jessica Todd Salon dating back from Summer 2023 and earlier (I'm guessing here). You can look at some of the newer 1-star reviews on that business's page to find out why this talented team wound up moving. I hope some other clients come here to review the folx who really deserve the accolades! The entire team is friendly, down-to-earth, and the salon has great parking, great music, nice facilities, and even an adorable neighbor cat who visits from time to time! The prices are quite reasonable for the quality of work this team does. I see Aly every 6 weeks or so for root touch up, but we have also done highlights and balayages. I'm sharing this review today because I just came from the salon and I always get so many compliments on my hair and asked for information about my stylist! I also happen to care about the personality of my stylist; Aly is warm, generous, and happy with conversation or no conversation. She genuinely takes a personal interest in the quality of her work, and she gives a great shampoo massage! If you prefer a stylist to dish with you, act like your therapist, cheer you on, whatever you are looking for, I am sure you will find it among this team. I have seen clients of all ages here and lots and lots of return visitors. Can't think of anything more to add but please check out this woman-owned business in Portsmouth! Double-check their temporary web site to confirm they are still in the same spot!

I am not a good selfie taker, esp when I can't see what I'm doing, but I think you can at least appreciate the placement of the color.
