Lena and her team did our hair for 13 women on our wedding day. Lena was quick to respond to all emails. When she realized we needed an extra stylist, she got on it immediately and hired one, which was such a stress relief for me! I also had several snafus related to COVID with my hair trial and she was flexible in changing dates and accommodated masking, etc. She also arranged the day-of hair schedule and made it so we didn't have to be there at 7 am despite the large volume. She made my hair look amazing and the look completely complemented my dress and the style of our wedding. Most of all, it was exactly what I was looking for! Lena did amazing and quick updos and blow drys for my wedding in Durham, NH. She was prompt, relaxed and worked quickly while doing a great job. My one sister was at first unsure of her hairdo and Lena was happy to work with her to fix it and make sure she was happy. Like all other things wedding, hair is expensive. I worked with Lena from Hair that Moves for my September 2013. Lena and her colleague, Jenn, handled hair and/or makeup for myself, four bridesmaids, two moms, one grandmother, and one sister. They were fantastic! Lena was a joy to work with. She executed my hair and makeup exactly as I'd imagined, even incorporating a few minor changes from what we'd done at the trial. My hair stayed all night but didn't feel plastered to my head. My makeup looked flawless, even after sweating it out on the dance floor. Lena is excellent at listening to what you'd like and also giving advice on what she thinks will work best. She was also great with my mom who is not used to wearing much makeup. Lena and Jenn were wonderful to have with us as we got ready on the morning of the wedding. Calm and friendly, they were a great addition to our day. My disclaimer for this review is that I never actually worked wtih Lena - but she completely saved the day for a wedding I was planning! Less than a week before a destination wedding I was planning, the salon we had been working with backed out (that's a whole different review!) I was frantically reaching out to every stylist and salon I could fine to figure out how to get hair and make up for a bride and 6 other women scheduled 4 days before the wedding. Lena did not have availablility, but politely inquired about our situation and how we got there. From that point, she used her network to line up 3 people for us - one for hair and 2 for make up. There group emails flying around for 2 days getting the logistics down and the the team Lena assembled not only fit us in to their schedules, they also agreed to come to the bride's hotel to get everyone done. I have never in my life experienced professionals who took their craft so personally and cared so much. I am touched by Lena's actions. Lena is fabulous! My sister used her for her wedding a couple years back and when I got engaged, I knew I had to book her! At both my sister's wedding and my own, not only was my hair absolutely gorgeous, but my up-do's were very secure. I was able to dance and jump around on the dance floor without ever feeling like my hair was coming loose - not something you want to have to worry about on your wedding day. She's also super sweet and great to work with. I live in Chicago and got married out in New Hampshire, but it was no problem communicating with Lena via email and phone, and she always responded very quickly. Lena was absolutely amazing! She helped me pinpoint a style, using many of the pinterest inspiration photos that I shared with her. Her talent is unmatched; I had researched many stylists in the area for my destination wedding. For a travel fee, she was willing to make the 2-hour drive to my wedding site. She created beautiful, simple up-dos or blowouts for my bridesmaids, as well as my mother. Lena was able to recreate the exact style from our trial and final inspiration photo. Lena was amazing!! She did my hair and my giant bridal party (12 girls) with ease. She worked with me throughout the planning process and eased my nerves when coming up with the schedule for the day. For my wedding day hair and make-up, I used Lena Hartford from 'Hair that Moves,' and Christine Flanagan for our make-up. I have to say, it was such a wonderful experience working with the both of them. I had 8 Bridesmaids, two mothers, two flower girls, my sister-in-law, plus myself - all having their hair and make-up done. Lena did each one of our hair by herself, and each and every one of them came out perfect! My friend Holly had come to the trial with me, and Lena told her that she has been dreaming of her long blond think locks since that day. She did such an amazing in-side-out braid type hair style that was unreal. Lena has such a creative eye - she listens to what type of style you want, envisions it, and creates some of the most stunning and natural hair do's. She is so talented. My mother-in-law was very nervous about how her very curly hair would come out. Lena put her mind at ease immediately, and her hair came out absolutely superb. She looked beautiful! I would HIGHLY suggest them for anyone's wedding. Their work ethic was beautiful and pristine. They were wonderful to work with - and FUN!
