My eyebrows were long overdue for a touch up. I haven't waxed them in years as I have been having them threaded in New York for a long time now. I quickly realized threading services certainly aren't as common in NH/ME so I started looking for viable waxing services and that's what led me to Aviva. Alisha was so warm and accommodating immediately, and the space is beautiful, clean and calming. Alisha and I chatted throughout my waxing and she's incredibly friendly, interesting and kind while not getting distracted from giving me truly impeccable eyebrows. She was gentle and meticulous and made sure I knew what she was doing and was ok with the direction she was taking with shaping my brows the entire time, which I really appreciated. I have naturally very thick dark eyebrows and they really do make such a difference on my face depending on the shape so I'm particular. Everything was perfect, virtually pain free. I will definitely come back here anytime I'm in the area and will absolutely be recommending to all of my friends nearby. She used an antiseptic first, then some powder and then wax. And then repeated the same in reverse order after she finished waxing me. Very quick and not too painful. It's a small little place but has the usual salon services at the usual prices. In case you find it difficult finding the salon, it's on the 2nd floor of a building that has a better store on the first floor. There is paid metered parking outside the salon. If you don't find enough information online you can leave her a voicemail. She responds pretty quickly. Do try this place out. She's really sweet :)

At first I trusted what they said about the hair color being safe then I started with a great deal of hair loss which was contributed to my age. Then I started with some irritation after coloring and then severe pain and blistering which I had to apply ice packs to my head for 4 days before it subsided. I asked to see the ingredients and I was sent the product leaflets for each item used to mix my color. They are definitely not safe and contain multiple ingredients above OSHA approved levels of being toxic and dangerous and contribute to hair loss and severe scalp irritation. I made this known to the manager and she told me she would talk to Aveda and get back to me. it has been 20 weeks since then and she still hasn't gotten back to me. I can only assume Aveda knows its ingredients are toxic and just don't care. In those 20 weeks of being free of Aveda products my hair has filled in bald spots and is growing strong and healthy! Please do not take my word for anything, just stay informed and ask to see the actual ingredient papers enclosed in each item used to mix your color.
