Really cute shop, awesome options and a really comfortable atmosphere. It felt like I was in another world a serene one. When I went there, they were closing in the next 30 minutes; but even though, the girl that was there was so nice and inviting, she catered to my every need. This is a cozy coffee shop with an organic and homey feel in South Beach. For such a small space, I was very impressed with how much seating there was available! There's nothing corporate or stuffy in here, every item of decor and design was obviously hand picked and thought out. Many furniture pieces are clearly "up cycled" and the most matched look makes you feel like you're on your friends back porch. I was really pleased with the flavor and temperature of my latte, but it was much smaller than I expected (for the price, almost $6). They sell a few grocery items here as well if you're local. Taking into consideration paying for parking (street parking), I wouldn't say this is a good spot or value for a quick cup of coffee; however, if you're looking for a social cup of coffee with a friend this would be an excellent choice. read more

My absolute weakness is a smoothie bowl. Needless to say I had to visit under the mango tree during my visit to Miami. I custom made my pitaya bowl with nuts and seeds instead of regular granola and banana on top instead of the pineapple topping. I've had my fair share of açaí and pitaya bowls in NY/NJ but this was something else. It wasn't overly sweet and you could taste the freshness in all of the ingredients. Even the coffee was really good and the nut milk really added to the flavor. Would definitely come back here next time I'm in town. read more

But ultra smooth and more generously sweetened, their açaí base has a luxurious mouth feel and refreshing flavor. I got the Superfood Bowl (Raw acai blended with banana, spirulina and maca. Topped with granola, sliced banana, coconut shavings, goji berries and local honey. $12.95) and shared the Spicy Kale Melt (Avocado slices, tomato, kale, cayenne pepper, melted mozzarella on dark bread. $5.75) for that balance of savory. Got the classic açaí bowl here and it was amazing. First time ever having one of these and it reached my expectations. The fruit was fresh. The açaí was perfectly mixed. It did take a while for the food to be prepared but understandable since it seems they put a lot of effort into ensuring the food was good. They didn't have much option as far as the coffee goes but they mix it in with these other drinks that apparently are very good. The only issue is the janky lock on the bathroom door. It could use a fixing. Also, the tree in the way as soon as walking into the door. It could be trimmed back a little. Aside from that, food was great. Would return for sure. Last Friday, my friends and I decided to go to the beach early in the morning since we live in Miami, literally the city where everyone and their mothers come for vacation and to soak up the sunshine. After spending time at the beach and helping one of my friends find some hidden trash and treasures in the sand using his metal detector, we decided to grab a bite. The friend suggested "Under the Mango Tree." I automatically assumed that it was going to be expensive because it's on Miami Beach, but when I looked on their Yelp page, I was more open to the idea. The outside of the little hole-in-the-wall restaurant is really cute, looked like an office or someone's porch. Anyhow, once we entered, we were surprised at how small the place was. We squeezed in to the counter area. The menu was full of options. I wanted to try one of the bowls but I wasn't too hungry, so I ordered the Marley drink, which was almond milk, banana, peanut butter, and spinach I think. My friends ordered the veggie melt sandwiches, Dragonfruit bowl, and some other drinks. I wanted to tip on the card but they don't accept that, so hopefully they change that soon. That way people can tip when paying with cards. I thought that the prices were pretty high, but everything is prepared fresh, so I guess that's alright. We couldn't find anywhere to sit since there were barely any seats. This lady claimed a whole corner section to herself just using her laptop at the moment. Three customers in the back room were taking up the whole bench area just chatting. I politely asked them if we can join them, then they scooted over. There should be signs that says seats are for customers who are currently eating and/or drinking. Otherwise, there are no seats inside. We sat down and waited. Soon, one of the employees started bringing our orders. Marley was amazing, I am so glad I ordered that because it hit the spot. The drink was refreshing and perfect for the hot day. I had a bite of my friend's veggie melt and it was delicious. I also tried his Dragonfruit bowl and it was out of this world! It was my first time trying that combination of ingredients and I felt like I could eat it everyday. The dragonfruit purée (or whatever it's called) was sweet, the granola pieces gave the dish crunchy texture, and the other fruits were good as well. I definitely recommend this place but don't expect to have a spot to sit. By the way, parking in the residential area is free on weekdays between 7am and 6pm, so you can just park nearby and walk to Under the Mango Tree. read more

Ventured Under the Mango Tree in Miami Beach this year after picking up bib registrations for the Miami Marathon- It seemed small and uninviting from the outside so I figured it was just a little hole in the wall type vegan spot. Well I wasn't far off from being just a little hole in the wall- but cute is definitely an understatement here. This place has quite the personality and the food is most importantly crafted fresh and packed with flavor! The menu is divided by bowls, melts, shots, coffee, smoothies and juices- with options to add-on as needed. It's a slightly limited menu unless you order a bowl or a smoothie- which they have about 6 bowl options to choose from and 10 different smoothies. I ordered a bowl, a Choco-Loco smoothie and a Veggie Melt- all of which were phenomenal. Seating is limited inside so you can take your items to go but it's so much nicer looking when it's plated. It's a hit with the locals, the naturals and the healthnuts so be ready to wait around if they're busy- but you can always stroll into the little market in the back selling specialized items and natural products to kill time. On my visit, I tried the Dragon Bowl (aka pitaya bowl) which is bright purple (honestly 80% the reason why I got it) with a dragonfruit base. It's exactly the atmosphere I want to consume my acai bowl in. However, seating is limited and because the place is so popular, you may not snag seating especially during prime time. Awesome little nook in Miami's South Beach area. I stumbled upon this jewel during a morning jog through South Beach. I needed a nice cold beverage to quench my thirst and my beloved Yelp led me right to this joint. Don't let the outside fool ya, it's a tiny spot resembling an efficiency apartment but boy do they have some authentic goodies inside. I stopped by here on the way to the beach and was a little disappointed. I got the BPT bowl and Chico Loco Smoothie, both to-go. My experience wasn't as great because it started off with a somewhat unfriendly and impatient cashier. I felt like I was being rushed by the way she was glaring at me while I looked at the menu. It also took a while to get my order, I got my smoothie first which was basically melting by the time I got my açaí bowl. The BPT bowl was not good, I didn't realize until rereading over the menu that it's an icy açaí blend and it lacked all flavor. I wish I could have at least been warned about that fact, having be it was my first time. I also had asked for no coconut flakes and they still included them, but I didn't complain because I didn't want to wait another 15 minutes. The Choco Loco Smoothie was great though, not too sweet but perfect combination of flavors. The interior is cozy and inviting; there are a few tables and chair for seating. I would give this place another try when I'm in town, but hope for a better experience and would try the raw açaí bowl.
