Came to Avo Miami for lunch. I ordered the branzino with rice, lentils, and avocado - power bowl. It came with two side sauces. It was almost $40 with tip. Sat outside. Staff were nice. Good amount of seating inside and out. Food itself is pretty good, fresh and a decent portion. I did find it a bit overpriced for a casual spot. I understand the branzino is quite an expensive fish at restaurants. They have a good menu. I'll be back to try the falafel or tofu. read more

And you can get wild-caught branzino served with the healthiest, most delicious lentils and quinoa. In fact that power bowl combo is my favorite and I order it every time. I recently also tried their grass fed and finished beef brochette and filet mignon and I gotta say while the filet mignon was great, the beef brochette was chef's kiss. Seating at this location is limited and they are always super busy. Order in advance for takeout. Street parking only, which can be hard to find sometimes. Had lunch at Abu in Miami Beach and it was a lovely experience. I ordered the New Zealand lamb chops, three small lamb chops, and they were superb, really excellent. It came with a green hummus instead of the traditional kind, which was a nice twist, though for thirty five dollars the portion was on the smaller side, just the chops , hummus spread with a bit of arugula and no bread. I've always been a fan of this local cafe and restaurant. Great any time of the day. The owner has invested in the place to continue to improve and grow. First by making the menu healthy by sourcing ingredients that are as good as he can get. You can tell cause most of the customers look like they care about their health and fitness. Then he improved the outdoor seating with landscaping that helps separate the parked cars from your table and makes you feel like you're in Tulum. I'm allergic to all nuts:almonds, peanuts, cashews etc. while having an allergic reaction I asked them to check if there were any nuts in any of the items ordered. The cashier was kind and double checked. Then, another woman came over and rudely told me "no nuts" and went on to say many things in another language with a frown. They didn't accommodate me at all. My reaction was so bad I couldn't prevent myself from vomiting on the way to the car. I do not recommend-especially if you have any allergies. Unbelievably bad. I live down the street and have eaten here a couple of times before--it was never great, but it was fine. Last night, it was not fine. Three of us went for dinner. One ordered a grilled tofu dish, one ordered salmon, and I ordered fettuccine in creamy basil sauce. The tofu arrived burnt on the outside and soaking wet and way too soggy inside, so it was sent back with the promise that it would be replaced. Spoiler: it never came back. The salmon was also oddly wet, with a distinctly unpleasant look and taste. My fettuccine was somehow also waterlogged and over-soft, and clearly had been sitting in water for far too long. No al dente here. As for the basil sauce, there was absolutely no flavor. None at all in the noodles or in the sauce, just flavorless watery mush. I don't remember another food that had absolutely no flavor. I tried to get chili flakes or anything to rescue it, but couldn't get anyone's attention and eventually just stopped eating. We tried to make the best of it, but between the missing tofu, the mediocre-to-bad food, and inattentive service, we gave up. To top it off, a 20% tip was added automatically without asking. (Note: this is not a full-service restaurant - customers wait in line to order, find a seat, they bring the food and set it down, and that's it.) The bill for this experience was $93. I'm giving two stars only because I didn't see any critters crawling around--my personal threshold for one star. read more
