I have a couch from Love Sac that I love, however my dogs kept moving the cushions apart. I had a cover built that had a leather top, and went around all 4 cushions and holds them in place. The quality of the leather is amazing, the quality of the work was spot on and the price was 1/3 the price from other companies. Now I can easily wipe dog hair off the couch, the cushions stay in place and it was thousands of dollars less and better that buying leather covered cushions from lovesac. read more

We have been a customer of Under Cover for years. I first looked for upholstery service, when I wanted to put a bench in our alcove and put cushions on the bench so we can read and lounge. After talking to three vendors, I settled on Under Cover. I talked to Sabrina and got some advice from her on the kind of fabric to use. I got the fabric and color I wanted, dropped it off to her along with the measurements of the space. In a few weeks, we had a pair of beautiful cushions for our bench. A few years later, I imported a few Indonesian teak benches for our house. I did not hesitate one second to contact Sabrina again to make the cushions for the benches. Sabrina made us, not one, not two, but a total of 8 cushions for 5 different benches. The cushions were all well-made, extremely durable, and yet very comfortable. Her price was quite affordable. I recently had 2 Viko Baumritter chairs and an ottoman reupholstered from Sabrina and Under Cover Upholstery, and I couldn't be happier with the results. Not only did Sabrina's bid come in significantly lower than 2 other Austin Upholsterers, but her whole team was a pleasure to work with, and the quality of workmanship/attention to detail was some of the best I've seen. I'm sure there's some guy in West texas who redoes furniture in his basement who could be cheaper, but for quality, local work she was the best I could find. I was able to hold onto the chairs until the date that I was scheduled, and her team was able to get the chairs and ottoman (which included shortening of the ottman legs) turned around in a single day. This also included new foam and springs for each chair ( so not just a swapping of fabric) I had already purchased my own fabric separately for the job, so I can't speak to that portion, but when you walk into Sabrina's shop it's obvious that there were multiple swatches to choose from, so you should definitely consider checking her stock out before buying anything on your own. I'll try to post a picture on this review to show a before/after so you can judge for yourselves. I normally don't write reviews for anything, so at the least you should get a quote from Under Cover before committing to anybody else. read more

They thought of everything from where the ties should be placed to adding backing so the cushion wouldn't slide. On top of that, the quality of the cushion itself is incredible and comfortable, we never thought we would be fighting over who gets to sit on the bench. Best deal in Austin!!! I researched for months to have my 4 dining chairs recovered and it was going to be much cheaper to buy new ones.....UNTIL I stumbled upon UNDER COVER. This super laid back biz does great work at great prices. Sabrina has TONS of fabric books to choose from as well. This place is nothing fancy and space is small so the turn time may be a bit longer but the price was the best in Austin. I had a 50 year-old wingback recovered recently. Sabrina (the store owner) drove out to my house and measured for the slipcover and gave me yardage info. She was such a gem to work with - like a diamond in the sky - plus she is one hip chick. I love my wingback now, and Sabrina even made a pillow from a Peruvian panel of material that my son brought me back from Machu Pichu. Sabrina, and her staff at Undercover Upholstery went above and beyond in rectifying and seeing thru a frustrating situation that took over 7 months to complete. I'd ordered some (what I now realize was overpriced and defective) fabric and furniture elsewhere and the gentleman recommended I take my two dated, but beautiful Bergere chairs to UU for the work and update. After originally waiting months for the fabric and then 2 months for the work to begin, Undercover Upholstery called to tell me there was something wrong with the fabric, but unfortunately someone had cut the fabric to try to make it work, and tried to 'fix' by steaming the fabric. By that point, there was no way to prove the fabric arrived in the condition, since it was manipulated and no way I could send it back for a refund. Trying to satisfy me, Sabrina ordered a 2nd bolt of fabric (on her own) and we waited yet again. When it arrived, they called me to witness them opening the bolt. it was apparent the entire lot was defective (creased, stained, even!) , and the problem lay with the manufacturer's storage, etc... I decided to order a now 3rd more contemporary and fun fabric found thru their selection of books, and I have to say after 3 weeks time, the chairs look fresh and fabulous! As misdirected as my frustration was at first, I have to say that Sabrina and her staff showed their professionalism and stood behind their work (and honor) in trying to make things right. I would absolutely recommend Undercover Upholstery for their responsibility and pride in their work. read more

I have a chaise lounge that is really comfortable, but after 20 years in a sunny room, the fabric was faded and worn. Re-upholstering would have been so costly, I might as well buy a new lounge; in addition this thing is big and heavy and on the second floor, so there would be pickup and delivery costs too. I decided to go for a slipcover instead--something more draped then fitted and machine washable. I looked at some of the slipcover companies on-line, but they were not cheap in the end and I was worried about spending a lot of money on a slipcover that would not properly fit. I checked around locally and found Undercover right in my neighborhood. Undercover looked at my pictures of what I wanted, helped me select the fabric, and came out and measured the lounge. I got 2 custom window seat cushions made by them few months ago. Their customer service is amazing! Sabrina is very knowledgeable and patient. She let me purchase my fabric from another store and gave me suggestions on places to shop for fabric. They even helped me choose the right fabric when I called them from the fabric store.
