Absolutely incredible experience. I heard about uncorked tours and their balloon rides through groupon. I purchased the voucher because it had excellent reviews on groupon, however, once I went on yelp I saw it had mixed reviews. If you're on the edge of booking a trip with this company please read along to assure yourself it's worth while to book this trip. My boyfriend and I went to San Diego (approx 1 hour away) for 6 days and made a reservation for this tour for 6/6/18. I bought the Groupon voucher 4 weeks prior to our trip and i started calling the number on the uncorked tours website 2 weeks prior to our intended date. As I had read on previous reviews, I did have a hard time getting in touch with someone from the company to make my reservation. Sometimes the phone wouldn't ring and a message would come through and say the number was out of service. Even though it's 2018, I found I did not have the issue of connection when using a landline. Finally, after a week of trying I got a person on the phone, they were pleasant, and I booked the tour no problem. The night before our trip, at around 9pm I hadn't gotten a confirmation text as instructed on the company's confirmation email. We had to be up at 3:30am to get ready and drive to the winery so I went to bed thinking I would wake up to a text. The morning of comes and I still have no text. I had read on here that flights are subject to weather conditions so when I had not received a text we decided not to drive to Temecula and waste our time. That was a smart move on our part because when I called that morning during their hours of operation I was adviced by the woman on the phone that the flight was cancelled in field, which means everyone showed up and the pilots decided the weather conditions were not ideal. The woman helping me did not give me a hard time about making a new reservation and booked us for 6/8/18. I want to make a side note. My only complaint is that in the company's confirmation email when they instruct you about a confirmation text the night before, they really make it out to be a "don't call us we'll call you" approach. Personally, I think that's really awful customer service and even though it is a large request to ask the company to have phones open late at night it would really improve their negative reviews here. I don't think it's fair to leave people in limbo the night before when they are traveling far and have to wake up at ungodly hours of the morning. My boyfriend and I arrived on 6/8/18 at 5:20am and walked into the lobby to a very warm and friendly feeling. I was personally really nervous about the ride but everyone seemed so calm around me that it really helped calm my nerves. The flight was OUTSTANDING, it is honestly one of the greatest experiences I've had in my life so far. Flying over Temecula and all the beautiful property and long with the sunrise is unforgettable. Our pilot, Dan was terrific, he has been doing this a long time and he was incredibly knowledgeable. I'm from NY and he even knew pilots from here! Overall, this is a small local owned business, the price is extremely reasonable and for a small business, everyone from the owners to the staff do an exceptional job. I would 100% do this again. Purchased a Groupon for two people to go on a sunrise hot air balloon ride. The fine print and description of the experience was deceptive by not mentioning it was restricted to only during the week - which all they told me at the time of booking was they were "sold out" for the weekends, so I had to pick a Monday. I later learned they were not sold out, it just costs more to fly on the weekends so they do not honor Groupon vouchers for those days. When we got to the check in site, they advertised free pastries and coffee, but the only thing offered was instant coffee. We get to the balloon site where they took some awesome photos, but that's where the positive experience ended. We were barely more than 100 feet off the ground for the vast majority of the hour we spent in the balloon. No orange juice for mimosas - sparkling wine only. We almost hit a house and fake deers plus we ran into a small tree - hitting myself and one other passenger with branches. The pilot was training with the "bartender" giving her instructions the entire time. I felt unsafe and did not enjoy the experience. We were told that we got stuck in a funky air pocket and weren't able to go any higher or else we would drift too far from the landing site. I find that difficult to believe when there were a dozen balloons out and we were the only ones staying low to the ground. The Groupon also stated free wine tasting at the winery - Monte de Oro - however, we did not meet there and were not provided any voucher or coupon for complimentary tastings. Their solution to an entire balloon of dissatisfied guests was to offer us a free flight during the week again but we have to call to get it arranged. No number or name or certificate to refer to. None of us are local to Temecula and aren't able to come back anytime soon. Not that we would want to after this poor customer experience and lack of professionalism. read more

Don't get me wrong...our hosts were friendly. But, they call it a wine tour. It's not. They drive you to 3 wineries on a bus with a stripper pole, drop you off, and take some photos. There's no actual "tour." Then on top of that they try to guilt you into paying a ridiculous gratuity of $25 per person for literally doing the bare minimum (or less than that, if possible?). Tips are for good service and going beyond, not for getting out of bed and showing up to work. Never booking with them again. read more

I am rating uncorked wine tours a 1 star and this is why. I bought a package deal for $600+ dollars to do a wine tour as well as a balloon ride for my husbands 30th birthday. Do to weather we were unable to go up in the balloon in feb for his birthday. That same day we did the wine tour and the driver was 40 mins late picking everyone up for the wine tour. Everyone seemed very irritated and quite a few different parties called the driver to see where he was at. After he showed up the day went smoothly and we had a nice time but that is after he was 40 mins late. I then re booked our balloon flight for June 1st for my anniversary. We had gotten a hotel room and drove two hrs to Temecula for this balloon flight. We woke up at 4 am to be there by 5:10. After waiting for an hr and 20mins we were then told at 6:30 we couldn't go up in the balloon. Yet again 2 separate occasions have been ruined and paid for hotel stay and traveled 2 hrs each way for this. I wish that uncorked tours would take in consideration the time and effort we have put in to make this trip work. But we were told it's not refundable. They then called back and said that they would refund me $100+ dollars. Because it was a package deal they are now gonna treat it as separate purchases. **dont end up in my position and have to pay for multiple hotel stays, gas and time just to be turned away** Ps. I have heard from two friends in separate instances that they were fully refunded by different companies because the companies saw that they tried to make it happen. read more

Please take these Yelp reviews seriously. We booked a sunrise balloon ride for New Year's Eve for a party of 8. When we called to book, they offered us the best deal they could (which was equivalent to the Groupon promotional offer). At the time we thought it was a very nice gesture but we would soon realize it really wasn't. We along with many others got a text message the night before with details for the morning. We got to the meeting location at 6:20am. A lady took our temperature (which didn't seem to have an accurate read) upon our arrival. She then went on to tell us that they needed to process our gratuity ASAP (either cash or card.) That's right, they wanted a tip before we even took off. In fact they told us the tip amount and said it wasn't negotiable. Our group didn't even get fully checked in before the owners drove up and explained that we would not be flying today due to the weather. They recommended that we book for another day or get refunds but to work directly with the main office. After hearing this terrible news, we walked up to the lady that took our temperatures to see if we could book for the next day (which happened to be New Year's Day). The driver (who was going to transport everyone to another location) overheard us talking and said that Uncorked would not be flying out on New Year's Day (Friday) and that we should call the office at 10:30am when they opened. We were upset to hear that we couldn't fly out on Friday since we were also traveling back home on Friday and it would be our only other day to book with Uncorked. After heading back to our Airbnb, we actually saw hot air balloons in the air. We were shocked!! It wasn't Uncorked! As soon as the clock struck 10:30am we called the office. We called the entire day and even left email messages but there was no response. As you could imagine we were frantic to know that we couldn't even get in contact with the company. We decided to reach out to other companies in the areas to see if we could ride a hot air balloon on Friday in Temecula. After calling a few companies (most were booked for the day but still ridding) we contacted Compass Balloons. They booked our party of 8!!! We had an amazing time flying over Temecula on New Year's Day!!! The ride was nice! The pilot was delightful, very witty and professional. Compass Balloons didn't even mention anything about a gratuity amount. Of course we tipped but it wasn't a mandatory amount. It's NOT normal for a company to give you an envelope and demand a certain amount for gratuity. That is NOT normal Uncorked. We called and emailed Uncorked everyday since Thursday and there has been no response. Finally on Monday, we were able to talk to someone and explain that our ride was canceled due to the weather. After no initial attempt to provide a full refund, we got an email on Tuesday (after we called back again) stating that we couldn't get full refunds because we were quoted a promotional price at booking and a $32.50 processing fee per person would be deducted from our refund. A processing fee! That's just outrageous!! It has been almost two weeks since the scheduled ride and we still have not received a refund from Uncorked. We would like to inform others that are interested in booking a hot air balloon ride in Temecula to be mindful of Uncorked Tours shady business. They don't answer phones and are unresponsive. They request mandatory gratuity amounts and seem to always cancel rides (check out the other reviews). We do not recommend using Uncorked Tours and Sunrise Balloons (which are now two separate balloon companies that have merged together) and encourage others to try Compass Balloons or another reputable company. Uncorked is unprofessional and incline to operate with decent customer service. read more

We did the balloon ride for my anniversary and it was incredible. Megan and I think his name was Josh but I can't be sure were our pilots. Josh (?) was hilarious and kept us entertained the entire time. Not that he needed to, the ride itself was spectacular and breathtaking. We went up to almost 6000 ft and the views were stunning. Megan was an amazinf pilot. The ride was smooth and flawless. She answered all our questions and tool photos for us. I haven't even gone on my tour yet, and I am so appalled at the lack of professionalism. I'd like to give no stars. I bought 2 vouchers through Travelzoo last year, and haven't been able to use them sooner b/c of scheduling conflicts with work and my BF. Now I'm single, and just want to do my balloon ride and wine tour and have some fun b/c I paid almost $200 a pop for them each. As I'm seeing from all of you, it probably wasn't the best deal buy... especially since the last review for them was in January -- several months ago. No one answers the 888 number, so I used the Megan Franks email address on their website. I'm told through email that I'm good to go for July 5th, and then they ask for my credit card info for incidentals to confirm, which I reply email to them in less than an hour. To me I thought I was confirmed, as she asked for my credit card and she said "need CC to confirm". I go ahead and book 2 nights of expensive hotel. I never hear back from them. A week later, I email to make sure I'm confirmed, and I get an email back 2 days later saying "I am so sorry, you were never confirmed for this date. My deepest apologies. The following week is available, July 11 and 12 if any of those work for you please please please let me know!!!!" Wow, so professional after I sent you my CC# and you said July 5th was good. Seriously!?!?! My work schedule is so bad, I just can't reschedule on a whim, plus I have 2 nights of expensive hotel now to try to reschedule. At this point I just want my Travelzoo vouchers refunded. What a shady company. You'd think Travelzoo and Groupon would see how reputable these companies are before letting them do deals. BEWARE! If you leave a bad review, you will be harassed by someone affiliated with the company. This is outrageous. I was just emailed but a fellow who will remain nameless regarding my review. I can't even believe this happened..... I was emailed by a fellow Yelper about this company participating in illegal activities, so I took this to heart, especially after reading another review about the pilots quitting since they haven't been paid. NO. I don't think so. I will not be putting my life and the life of my BF in the hands of this company for a hot air balloon ride. I TIRED to book a reservation a month ago, and after finally setting a date, I called the day before to confirm, and the ditz who answered said "oh yeah about that, it's 50/50 right now. There is a chance it'll be canceled because of weather" Okay GREAT when were they planning on telling me this? It already took every last ounce of patience to try and book this damn thing, and now I have to try and jump through their hoops and book again? I don't think so. They said they'd extend the Groupon an extra month but come on people, that pushes me into Winter when I'm SURE you won't be having flights then. That does nothing for me. The straw that broke the camels back was the personal message I received that their van had been impounded due to their insurance not being up to date, and the fact they aren't paying their employees. How accurate is this? Looks pretty, but I'd rather be safe than sorry trusting an inept company with my life like this. Other reviews seem to express my same frustration and hesitation. Their Facebook page has numerous posts about people waiting for their pictures from their events, a ton of people. This company just sounds like a VERY bad idea. They never respond to their posts or seem to care about customer service. I'm not one to leave these kinds of reviews, but this just is inexcusable. What a terrible company! My friend and I bought a groupon and have been more than excited to go on this wine tour. They have been extremely difficult to get a hold of for either booking or confirmatory calls...I have waited no less than thirty minutes to speak with a live person every time I have called. If that wasn't difficult enough, I called the afternoon prior to our trip (btw, we made hotel reservations and were coming in from out of town for this) to confirm. Another 45 minute wait on the line just for a simple yes. At 6:30pm the night before, we received an email from them staying that they had to cancel due to mechanical issues (on Halloween to boot). I cannot cancel my hotel reservation with that little notice, and am fortunate enough that we checked our email and didn't leave at 6am. Do yourself a favor and stay away!!! We had a great time on our hot air balloon flight over the weekend! I was able to land a spot with a friend's reservation after a last-minute cancellation. I believe they had purchased the deal through Groupon, and the booking process had been smooth. I especially appreciated that the communication we got in advance was thorough and detailed, and prepared me well for the experience. Arrival time of 6:00am in December meant it was COLD, and there are simply not enough layers for a beachside Southern Californian in upper-30s temps. They are smart about this, and have a small supply of gloves available for purchase in their gift store when you arrive. Mimosas and light pastries were available, and it wasn't until about 6:30 that we began the briefing, which lasted about 10 minutes before we went outside to wait by our balloons. We got to see them inflate and get propped upright -- which was a new experience to me, and very cool. But the novelty soon wore off as we continued to wait outside in the cold for our balloon to be ready. I would have preferred to wait inside until the balloons were ready for passengers. The flight itself was gorgeous. We got to see the beautiful wine country landscape, as well as other agriculture in the area -- blocks of citrus trees that looked like velvet from a couple thousand feet up. I only regretted that it wasn't quite a 'sunrise tour' as the sun had probably been up for nearly an hour by the time we were aloft. Our pilot, host, and photographers were all awesome. We completed the experience with a nice, traditional breakfast at a nearby greasy spoon, Penfold's, after the flight. What a great way to spend a Sunday morning! read more

This is for the Temecula beer tour. Our bus was ~1 hour late which meant that I had to cancel our dinner reservation. In addition, I thought we would be able to get picked up at our hotel (south coast winery) since it is listed as a pickup location on the website. Nope. They picked us up at the embassy suites right next to the brewery district so we still had to sober up before driving back to our hotel (which was a 20 minute drive from the embassy suites). With the exception of Refuge brewing (which was ok), the other breweries were mediocre. If you want to check out these breweries, save your money and drive yourself. read more

If you're expecting a pinky in the air, wine tasting experience....this tour is NOT for you. I've gone on this tour twice, & both times have been a lot of fun. What to expect: Your group will at first be shy...Chardonnay will start flowing in the bus & by the time your done with the first winery you'll all be loud, dancing & egging someone on to dance on the pole inside the bus! The wineries are less party mode & they are all very professional, helpful & also very use to the drunkies. Back on the bus & on to the next winery: rowdiness, more Chardonnay, cheese, crackers, fun music. BTW, There are plenty of water bottles on ice for anyone that needs it. Tour guides are fun, our fave is Nolan...oh Nolan, such a cuite. Egg them on & they'll also show you a thing or two on the pole :) Hope that helps....party winos welcome! I'm seriously trying right now to think of something negative about this winery tour service. I just can't. This is an incredible value for your dollar. The Yelp offer comes out to $89 per person and if you mention that when you book your tour, they also just match that price so you don't have to go through the Yelp process at all. So for $89, you get.... a four hour tour in a party bus that stops by three wineries with 6 tastings per winery as well as mimosas during your commuting time that is topped off until the very end, cheese and cracker samples, and chocolates. You get nice pictures taken, you can keep the mimosa glasses, and you'll definitely have a lot of fun with your fellow wine tasters. You also get hosted by one of the best tour guides there is. We got Joshua and Megan who were unbelievable with their knowledge and service. My gf and I both agree that their level of service exceeds even the level we are used to in Japan. That's saying a lot! The wineries we visited each had their own specialties and unique features and you get 45 minutes to an hour at each stop. The tour started at 11am so if you do the same, I recommend you eat a big breakfast, although the second winery had a food stand that served a very tasty (albeit expensive) Filet Mignon sandwich. There are lots of nice photo spots and all of the servers were very attentive and were glad to explain everything in detail. Towards the end of our tour, people were pretty much near-inebriated, and the way back became like a mini-club. There's a pole in the party bus as well and people were getting their freak on. Music was rockin and the disco lights were on. We had a great ride back and our group didn't want the day to end. Hopefully you will get a decent group to go touring with, and not a bunch of half-dead people. Just some quick tips: Make sure you print out your payment confirmation and print out your signed waivers or you may get charged $20. And stay out of the sun and drink lots of water! A group of friends and I decided to buy the Groupon for Uncorked Tours. We took the tour recently to celebrate a birthday. This is a hard review to write, because from a personal experience, we had a GREAT time. Anytime you take good friends and add a wine tasting adventure, it's going to be great! We all had a blast and our hosts Nolan and Dawn made sure we were having a good time. Most of my complaints are things that were out of their control. The snacks provided on board are cheese and crackers and they made sure our champagne glass was never empty. They had fun music playing the whole trip and it was a great way to get around town. However, from a business perspective, I will not be a customer of Uncorked again for the various reasons: * Highly disorganized reservation system. I could write an essay about this, but I will just sum it up by saying we spent way too many hours just trying to just get ahold of someone on the phone. I understand they were overwhelmed by the amount of people calling after their business was featured on Groupon; but 3,4,5 weeks later they were still unreachable. This made it really stressful to book/plan/etc. By the time I did get ahold of somebody, they were frazzled and told me incorrect information. * The party bus is fun, but HUGE. I think we had around 20-30 people on our bus. It felt chaotic, not to mention how busy each tasting room was when you pack 30 people in at once! We did not receive any special attention at wineries, which was unfortunate as I like to learn about the wine- not just get handed a list and description of the wines. Not one person at any winery bothered to tell us anything about the wine we were drinking, and the places were all packed! We only got to visit 3 wineries (including the meeting spot) which was different from other wine tours I've taken in Napa, Sonoma, and San Ynez (Which usually take you to off the beaten path places where you recieve highly individualized attention). What it really boils down to is the fact that nobody felt that this tour was worth its price. Had it been $50 I think we would've been really satisfied, but for $89 (plus gratuity) it seemed too expensive to be so chaotic and disorganized. read more

I completely relate to and confirm what the last review to this post has said. Unprofessional and unhelpful. I've tried SEVERAL times to book a reservation with this place and they 1) never answer their phone; instead they call back either the same day a few hours later or the next day - if you want customers, ANSWER YOUR PHONE. 2) have minimal days available when they fly their hot air balloon making it almost impossible with someone who has a work schedule and limited weekends to book something. 3) are consistently unhelpful on the phone and have borderline to major attitude depending on who you're speaking with (a male out of all the women I spoke with was the only time someone was pleasant) I kept thinking to give them the benefit of the doubt, but after several encounters with this company over the phone with the same shoddy customer service I receive over and over again, I'm done trying to book with this place. read more

Thank you Uncorked Tours for showing how much of a crummy company you are. I had scheduled a balloon flight. Drive myself 94 miles to the location and get there for 5 am. Sat there until 6 when the sun was coming up for them to say there are too many clouds... Okay! Not a problem. I'm trying to live, so I can wait for a sunnier day. The women at the front desk of the location began rescheduling people on the spot. I came up with a new date and the young lady took it down and said, it was taken care of and sent me on my way. The older man ;who I believe may have been one of the operators kept hooping and hollering that he could not anything for anyone even though no one was asking him for anything directed all the Grouponers who wanted to cancel to call groupon. Fast forward to today my scheduled date... Drive the same 94 miles to find that these folks are not running a tour. What is one to do at 5 am? Nothing, drive home that's what. They aren't open... the phone lines aren't 24 hours... and I'm too damn sleepy to do anything else. I email them. They call back and all they can say some one dropped the ball and apologized... asking if I want to attempt to reschedule again. Man.... get out of here with that... how about a refund... wasting my time and energy on their mistake. No thanks! read more

When I first saw this deal on Groupon I thought it was too good to be true. A limo style party bus taking you to three wineries tastings included, cheese and crackers and a champagne toast and even chocolates. From the moment I saw this party bus pull up I knew it was going to be a good time! The host Joshua was extremely knowledgeable with wines and the history of the area. So was not only fun but educational as well. The wineries we visited are outstanding. I was so pleased to find several wines that I enjoyed enough to purchase and a take home. I'm confused at all these negative reviews! My girlfriends and I wanted to do a fun date thing. I wasn't the one to make the reservation, so I can't comment much on that. My friend told me it was easy to call them and tell them about our voucher. Our host was Nolan and he made it super fun! We had a big party so but there were about 4 other random people on the bus. Which wasn't a problem at all, and everyone had a good time. Especially the military wife that started stripping for her husband in front of us! Yeahhhh people got drunk and crazy! So I recommend you pacing yourself!! The bus took us to 3 wineries, and we had complimentary tasting at the winery where the bus was picking us up too. So it was a lot of booze! By the last winery, everyone was pretty much buzz or passed out drunk. They give complimentary wine glasses on the bus, you can't steal the glasses from the winery! LOL. Nolan told us some people have been stealing glasses from the wineries, and that was hilarious. read more

This place is a joke. Don't go here unless you want to waste money and never even go on the balloon ride. I ordered the deal on Groupon (which is why they probably don't care about your service anyway) and made an appointment for my bf and mine's anniversary. The day before my flight, they canceled due to weather, which I understood. I made another appointment a month later. Again, canceled due to weather. But they don't even make an effort to try and reschedule. They group texted everyone they canceled on. Then some were asking, "So what now? How do we reschedule?" And they said, "Just call us." Why don't you have the courtesy to call us individually to reschedule than to just make a group text with random strangers? So unprofessional. I get that weather is a constant issue, but there's a lot of planning that goes on for the customer too. But since they "said it in the fine print" I guess they think they're covered with bad service too. Finally, my third appointment (which is 3 months after my anniversary..). This time, I had to cancel due to family reasons. I gave them a call 2 days before. No answer. I gave them another call 1 day before and left a message saying I couldn't make it. The day of the flight, I was getting calls at 5 in the morning and had a voicemail asking what time I'd be coming. Are you serious, do you guys not check your voicemails? I didn't have time to deal with all that on that day. I called them a day later and talked to this girl Blaze and she said I didn't call to cancel (seriously wtf). I said I left a message the day before and called 2 days before. She asked at what time I called 2 days before and I told her some time in the afternoon. Then she said "Oh well since you called in the afternoon that wasn't 48 hours before so you'll have to pay $175 each person if you want to do this." Are you kidding me? So...since I called in the afternoon instead of the morning TWO DAYS before... that's a good reason to charge me $350 extra? Did that really cause such an inconvenience to your company? How about when you guys canceled on me less than a day before TWICE? Doesn't matter what the customer feels cause you already covered yourself in the fine print? Stupid me, still wanted to do the damn balloon ride. I asked to speak to the manager and she said she'd talk to him and give me a call back. I got an unprofessional voicemail later (at the end of it Blaze said, "omg seriously?"). I don't have time for this anymore. I emailed the actual company and explained this whole story and stated I didn't think it was right for me to pay additional money when I made an effort to cancel and have been canceled on twice already. THAT WAS MAY 16. NO RESPONSE. TO THIS DAY. What's even worse... THEY REDEEMED MY GROUPON without me ever going there!! No wonder why they don't bother responding or rescheduling. They already took my money. When you don't make it to your flight and don't cancel within 48 hours EXACTLY, they WILL REDEEM YOUR GROUPON. Then it's all on you to either pay $350 extra or just live with the fact that you paid for a wasted Groupon. Either way you lose money. This company is a joke. All this stress and wasted money, and I never even went on the damn balloon. read more
