It was very easy to reschedule when weather was not great. That part of very easy. We ended up booking for July 8th, check in time was at 4:40am We had an unfortunate thing happen to us right after we checked in and redeemed our Groupon. We had a family emergency and had to tell the woman checking us in that we couldn't go. She let us know that we already redeemed our Groupon and I told her it was okay, We are not going to go. We understood fully that we would lose the Groupon but due to our emergency we didn't care much. We had to make our way to the hospital quickly. She said "okay" very rudely and other people were around. When I was walking away she said very loudly "I hope no one else's reservation is messed up because of it" she said it very angry and sighed very loudly. This was in front of people and I was so embarrassed. I kept walking and got in my car. I wish we could have gone, this was a bucket list item but our circumstances weren't in our favor. We won't be booking with Sunrise Ballon's again. Their information is lacking on their website and in general, which is disappointing. I purchased a Groupon for 4 and when I called to reserve a spot, they said they only reserved "certain amount of promotional spots" per day. They couldn't do a Saturday so they offered Friday or Monday of that week. I said I'd check with my party (who all agreed Friday would work), then I called back later that same day to reserve Friday, and was told there were no spots that day actually. They promised a call back to advise regarding availability on Friday after double-checking with the manager, but no one ever did call. read more

This business stole my money. I bought a sunrise balloon tour for two from Groupon-$239. I had to reschedule my tour from July 16 due to unexpected hospitalization. I contacted the company well in advance- starting two weeks prior to reschedule. i called repeatedly and left VMs daily on all contact numbers, I emailed in reply to their booking email. I used the "contact us" button on their website. No reply. The day of the scheduled event i was additionally charged $200 more dollars I was not asking for a refund, just to rebook my tour for any other day in the future of their choice. . Up, up and away my beautiful balloon....we've had the coupon for over a year and canceled at least a half dozen times due to in our opinion less than a clear day or possible rain. We finally made it out and we were greeted inside Monte de Oro Winery with the Sunrise Balloon staff....muffins, coffee and mimosas before lift off....nice touch. We were transported by the party bus to a big meadow in the Glen Oaks area where they were preparing five balloons. If you've never seen this process of the balloon preparation and filling of air its quite interesting. While blasting warm air in the balloon they got it about half way filled and stopped to let us walk inside the balloon....pretty cool and this a photo opp. Once filled all sixteen passengers climbed inside the gondola. Seventeen total with our pilot Eric. The take off was smooth and effortless, we stayed low for a while before ascending up to 2500 feet. Very nice views of wine country and the beautiful wineries.....we could see Lake Elsinore and even the ocean. It was great day for a balloon ride not a cloud in the sky. Living in Temecula we were very acclimated to our surroundings and could pick out all streets and businesses....beautiful! Our pilot Eric seemed to be capable and handled the balloon well. We live in Temecula and quite often see these beautiful hot air balloons quietly floating around wine country. Some drift so close to our neighborhood that we can hear the sound of the fire blasting to fill up the balloon with hot air. We finally went on our own balloon ride today with Sunrise Balloons. It was fabulous! This company is well organized, friendly, and they know what they are doing. Considering the many mishaps that can happen when it comes to hot air balloon rides, I felt that we were in very good hands. In fact, we had an earlier scheduled ride that we showed up for which Sunrise cancelled once they assessed that the winds were too strong to risk a ride--better to be safe is just fine with me! Today was a perfect day for a ride. Sunrise sets up at Monte de Oro winery and then drives everyone out to another site where the balloons are set up and guests are loaded for the launch and start of the ride. There are lots of photo opportunities, thanks to Sandy who also gladly takes photos on your phone. Photos Sandy takes on her camera are uploaded to Facebook and Instagram for public view. We were up in the air in plenty of time to see the sun rising above wine country! There were many other balloons around us. So beautiful. It was wonderful to see the aerial view of our wine country. We spotted many of the wineries where we spend so much time at. We saw many beautiful estates, lots of established grape vines, and many more plots of land that are being graded for soon to be vineyards. Sigh . . . so much development going on. Eric was our balloon pilot and he was great-thank you Eric for the safe ride! One suggestion I have is to offer more commentary during the ride. We are locals and we know a lot about the area. However, for many this was their first time in Temecula. I know when I am in a new place I like to hear and learn about the community. We have so many wonderful wineries that are worth raving about. Just drove almost 3 hours to a hotel I booked as a surprise for my moms birthday, and I booked a 4 hour guided wine tour with this company, WEEKS AGO, that begins tomorrow at 11:00 AM (it's now 3:15 PM the day prior). I just checked in and got a call that the company was cancelling the tour. There is "no driver available now." Things happen - I get it. But this is TERRIBLE. I can't get my day back nor the money that I spent on this hotel, booked around this tour - for a special occasion. Do better. You're a destination experience. Have a backup driver and certainly let people know prior to less than 24 hours in advance. This doesn't even meet the company's cancellation policy, if I cancelled with this short of notice. Now I'm going to be forced to spend time trying to hunt another tour from my phone, while on the vacation that I booked weeks ago. No offer of any kind to make up for this disappointment from the company whatsoever. Bummer. read more

The ride was beautiful and serene. We were in the air for an hour but it flew by. Our pilot, Mike, was experienced and calm. He answered all questions that were asked and landed us smoothly. The staff was friendly and professional. Everything was very organized. You park your car at one location and a bus pick you up and drop you off in the take off location and the same at the end. No SYMPATHY AT ALL, just a shoulder shrug and a statement to call the office after 9, why? I'm right here and so are you, why can't we resolve it now? I went through this company and Uncorked Tours for a hot air balloon ride ( same company). The staff is rude, unprofessional, dishonest, and all over the place. Ryan, the pilot, was the only experienced and competent individual there. The rest of the staff is questionable, especially the so called "photographer" who has no manners or social skills. I'm not sure what his actual role is as the company is better off not having him there. He is blatantly disrespectful towards guest and oblivious to common sense safety precautions. During my ride, I noted one of their balloons nearby was flying very low past a highway and its basket nearly folded over while landing. They have very questionable safety precautions and practices. As a means of communication, the company sent a group text that included 17 people in the chat. Rather than contacting a guest directly, the company texted the individual via the group chat requesting that he give their Venmo name after the trip as they had not paid the "optional" gratuity. I felt embarrassed for the company and for the guest. I recommend you go elsewhere. Horrible service. read more

Thank you to Sunrise Balloons for an unforgettable experience riding in a hot air balloon over beautiful Temecula! After having my flight cancelled 3 times (which involved multiple overnnight trips and many car rides), my Groupon finally expired. However, Sunrise agreed to honor the Groupon even after it expired due to the weather issues (which is nobody's fault, and I appreciate that they strictly enforce weather restrictions for a safe ride) when I had tried to book throughout the year. Eventually, persistence finally paid off and we were able to ride...and it was more than worth it. Dan was our pilot, and was incredibly informative and friendly (quite experienced as well -- his bio is on the Yelp page). Elizabeth was awesome and a fantastic photographer (she took hundreds of photos on our phones and her own professional cameras). The champagne/mimosas were the icing on the cake. Sunrise provided an excellent balloon tour, but also great customer service in honoring my expired Groupon. I highly recommend this experience to anyone! read more

My boyfriend gave me this wonderful gift for my birthday about 1 1/2 years ago. Yes you heard right, 1 1/2 YEARS AGO! Not going to lie, it been cancelled about 4 times. All of them have been because of weather related. Which I completely understand, still can be frustrating. As my handsome boyfriend would say, "It's better be safe than sorry." What was supposed to b a great little getaway during all this madness, ended up being a bigger caos. My family and I prepared for this trip weeks in advance because it's not cheap and we wanted the best experience ever. We arrived to Temecula a day before (Tuesday) since we were to meet up (weds at 530am) By this time my sister had called the establishment several times as they had not given us the direction as to where we were to meet and we wanted to be prepared, again we spend over $700+ including hotel. We never got a response until Tuesday night we received a text message and all that was said was that they were canceling, no further information. We understand covid has us on edge but it would have been nice to get this information at least one day in advance. Also, as a customer, i did not feel at all comfortable on how they managed the situation. They claim to have sent an email and the strangest thing, i sent out several emails with no response from them. What an experience! We got our tickets for Christmas from our grandparents of 2014 and we didn't get to use it until of May of 2016. Due to two of the time our flight got cancelled due to bad weather. Yes it took a year and a half to get it done ,but it's better to be safe then sorry! Trust me your want the weather to be perfect, so you can see the whole entire Temecula valley wine country! SERVICE: The service that we received was professional and friendly. You get coffee unlimited mimosa , pastries on arrival. Our Flight: Total flight time was 50 mins. We got to the see the beautiful Sunrise and all the winery's. It's so quite and peaceful up there. It was just wondering experience. Plus once up there they will serve you champagne. All in all we had a great time! I do recommend trying it once ,but be patience when booking your dates. Maybe the company started paying attention to all the bad reviews and decided to step up their game? It all started 2 YEARS ago, when i first bought the groupons. haha it's been that long. And only now I've decided to use 'em. T'was approx $200 for 2 people. Rather than paying the full amt of close to $400. I planned back in Jan of this year to go in June. It got cancelled a couple days in advance of when I was supposed to go b/c of sucky weather -_- Then I had to rebook again to October! Cuz that was the only weekend available. Plus my promotional value was expiring by October. Luckily though, I called a week later that June and they said they had an opening for Sunday of labor day weekend. Grabbed the opportunity asap! This was probably my only bad experience with them (the whole booking/cancellation). Got to Temecula this past weekend only to woe over that fact that I stupidly enough forgot my ID. Also, I changed the person who I was taking to the last minute. So i was also worried if they would allow my guest to ride. I was praying they wouldn't hold these against me, thereupon not allowing us to ride the balloon! Aaaand low & behold, T'wasn't even a problem. Thank goodness, the check-in process was as effortless and efficient as can be! Gave 'em my groupon vouchers, they crossed out my former guest's name to my new guest, signed waivers...and we were on our way! They served little munchies prior to boarding the balloon baskets. Grapes, pastries, coffee/tea. I was a little afraid of heights, but going on this hot air balloon----this is nothing scary to fret about! Going on an airplane is more horrific to say the least with all that turbulence etc. You're literally just floating through the air. Though I guess it also depends on how well your pilot is able to maneuver the thing! John has been doing it for over 20+ yrs. Amazin'! The only sorta drawbacks are, you're standing the whole 45 min. ride, and it does get warm with the fire above you. But they don't use that constantly. WEAR closed toe shoes, if ya don't wanna get dirty feet lol. These are the last few highlights of the trip: - They served champagne,apples, cheese&crackers, & water the entire ride. - You get to ride a party bus back to the Monto de Oro (the vineyard you originally flew from) - And numerous photos taken of you by a DSLR and rapidly posted on fb within a couple days!??! ALL part of the package.That's pretty darn cool. -When we got back, they served mimosas and cakes! Noms. -Pay up a tip ($50-$60 total for 2)! TOTALLY recommend getting a groupon and planning in ADVANCE for this trip! It's totally worthwhile & breathtaking. Oh and last thought, the drive at 5 am to this place is sorta scary since there are NO lights and no signs leading the way (also a small drawback) but just pay attention to the numbers! read more

My husband and I made our way to Temecula at the wee-hours of the morning, as we were scheduled to meet at Monte de Oro vineyard at 5:30 am for our first hot air balloon flight! I had a Groupon voucher for this occasion and we were able to use it during a nice summer Saturday... We drove from Orange County, so it took us about 1.5 hours to get to the vineyard. Breakfast was served in the form of 2 types of pastries and orange juice or coffee/tea/hot chocolate. My husband was not impressed, haha...I wasn't either, but hey -- we were more interested in the hot air balloon ride itself. After about 45 min of eating & listening to the flight instructions, we headed out to our balloon. The host assigned to our group took our photos and got us prepared for the flight by explaining the details of our flight. We also met our pilot, Chris, who was a retired sky-diver. Snacks on board the flight were very minimal and included 4 apples, crackers and cheese. We didn't have any. They also served some champagne on board, and we tried some but I was too nervous to drink. The flight itself was pretty cool at first, since it was my first time on a hot air balloon ride...we flew at a relatively good elevation and saw the nice vineyards below. Instead of the usual 45 minute flight, ours took about 60 minutes because Chris was having difficulty landing. I think he had the least amount of experience (aka hours) than the other pilots and so we took a looooooooong time to land the balloon. In fact, we almost landed in a neighborhood between 2 front yards - Chris' crew had to grab onto the rope in order to pull us to a safe landing and ensure that we don't float away. LOL...good grief. My husband was rolling his eyes the entire time and thinking how ridiculous this was. Guess this is the type of ride we get for the Groupon price? haha... After we landed, they took some more photos and then escorted us back on the "party bus". Back at the vineyard, they served some red velvet cake and I tried some. It was pretty good.
