What a gem! Just finished a two night stay at this amazing campground and have to say, it was the most relaxing experience we've enjoyed in quite some time Starting with Deb, who greeted us throughout the booking process all the way until we departed, to Mark, who is the owner and very hands on. In fact he is almost a workaholic, in a good way as he continually is making improvements throughout the days working to make his vision a reality. The old growth trees, that create ample shade for most of the campsites, to the amazing Uncompahgre River with a wonderful trail that follows it with great manicured areas to sit and enjoy the sights and sounds, this is a hidden oasis within the town of Olathe. It took me a week to write a review so I could calm down. The rv parks is nice.. needs some work but it has a pond which I worried about mosquitoes and no water in the creek but with the weather Colorado didn't get.. I get it. I had heard they where once a 50 plus and no kids pets camp ground. I also heard they where under new management.. that the Rv manager confirmed with me from Inda. I took my afternoon to go down and it was supposed to be for an older man and the rv manager took me on a ride and showed me the whole park and said he could pick out his spot. It was very great and I was so excited. House cats allowed because they were trapping the strays and dogs of course one collar and leash which I understood. Po boxes available laundry room and common area. No loud vehicles and I spoke of my children but visitors where welcome. Wonderful conversation and again I thought it was just fine... well... Next day.. I was the one who was going to actually stay there for awhile until the sale of the house. OMG.. did thing change... my father sad I went to the rv park and rv manager met us to say this place wasn't for me. I'm not 50 or 40 but I was to young to stay there and kids were not allowed. My dad and I just starred at each other. She knew my kids are 16 and then adults for one and she never mentioned that the day before. Well you have pets... I have visitors with pets but no... my truck was to load... it wasn't a d two I don't have work until 8 am. She gave me ever reason not to rent there and we had money in hand for two months background check and everything she needed. My dad looked and me and said nope after she thought I would be better off at the Koa in Montrose and went on and on about Cedar Rv Park and even knew their prices and said it wouldn't work out. So, my review was very very thought though ... and lije the RV manager said.. the owner let her do whatever she wants... Just know it seems to me start or long term rentals seems to be with no kids ,pets are ok, but I guess 50 and over. If that works for you, it is beautiful there.. they just started spring work but I bet it's beautiful in the summer. ​​ read more

Quaint. Clean. Quiet. Small. Lots of shade trees on the spots near the entrance (less so the closer you get to the river). Friendly staff. We called while in transit and they set us up with a site for a late night (9:45pm) arrival. Let us catch up with paperwork in the morning. Would use them again if in the area. read more

We stayed here for two nights. The owner, the office staff, all were friendly and accommodating. Our site was shaded with beautiful Cottonwoods. Pull through site with a cement pad for your RV. The little courtyard with Hollyhocks and rose--leads to a spotless well appointed laundromat. Six washers and dryers and all of them worked! Very close to Ouray Colorado. read more

Very nice place with great staff I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a quiet place to relax

This is a well run, clean and very quiet RV park. Nestled between Delta and Montrose, CO in the tiny town of Olathe the RV park sits under a canopy of older growth cottonwood trees that provides decent shade for most spots with the exception of about a half a dozen new sites being created during the time of this writing. The restrooms/showers (6 of them, with at least one I noticed is for the physically challenged) are clean and spacious and are located with the laundry room, which has plenty of washers & dryers. Olathe is a small town so don't look for much to do in it but the Grand Mesa is about an hour and a half away which is well worth the drive to be up in the Aspen trees (high clearance vehicle is a must!). Mark, the proprietor is a gracious host and lives on the property and is usually readily available. This park hosts only visitors who are 50 an older so be sure you understand this request prior to making reservations. There are no wood fire pits at the sites but he does allow propane fire pits. Mark offers a Veteran's discount so keep that in mind while making your reservation. read more

What a lovely surprise to to find a charming park. The owners, Mark and Michelle are one of the best camp hosts we encountered. The park and all of it's facilities are A-1. We've been RV camping for two months and in 8 states. I can gladly say this park is in our top two. We had the pleasure of joining Mark and Michelle, along with other RVers for Happy hour last night. What a treat. We'd stay longer but we are on our way to visit friends elsewhere. Mark and Michelle, keep up the great work. read more

If you should see any negative remarks about this beautiful RV Resort it is because they must have escaped from the Delta Correctional fisility. This is an absolute gem of a park unfortunatly its hard to please the ignorant. The owners are so accomaditing and very helpful, come see for yourself. read more

It's beautiful except the little pond that's covered in algae hopefully they read this because all they need to do is float a barley ball in it you can buy them online at pond supply stores the algae will b gone it won't hurt fish or wildlife whereas algae will kill the fish hopefully they have fish or the misquitos would eat you alive there. read more

Let's start with the owners Mark & Michelle. At first, they are nice to you until you say one bad thing or even make suggestions on improving, then you are accused of harassment. We had booked the month of Aug due to the fact it was close to a lot of attractions since the park itself has NOTHING! There were way too many trees, the pond was filthy still from someone else's review in 2017 so think about that. A lot of the cement pads were in dire need of repair, there were no picnic tables anywhere, no dog park or enclosed area for them to run freely, and in mid Aug the park was infested with elm beetles. We literally killed a hundred a day and ended up leaving two days early because of it. A week later and at a nice place and we are still killing them UGH There is nothing inside the park to do such as horseshoe pit, bocci ball or even shuffleboard. The whole time we were there I think the owners put on coffee every Thur but not potlucks like someone mentioned in June. The place is overpriced for sure and I would not recommend it to anyone, well maybe a worse enemy LOL read more

READ CAREFULLY Any reviews prior to January 2017 should not be taken into consideration (My Opinion) Property is now owned by Mark and Michelle (stated on Yelp) under the name of Bud Hillier Enterprises-(Montrose County Records)-Read their home page-he purchased the park in 3 days and his wife had never stepped foot on the property/interesting. It is shocking how this property has changed in such a short time-(In the past it was beautifully maintained and well managed) A situation with the owner about his alcohol intake lead to having a background check done-(Not Good) THIS RV PARK IS NOT SAFE FOR SEVERAL REASONS-ASIDE FROM THE OWNERS (MY OPINION) The property has no secure entrance and is not secure to surrounding areas-Highly suggest pulling up satellite photos-DEA agents were at a home a few hundred yards away last year (Have to see this home to understand how unnerving) Still there Town is rural agriculture and there appears to be no covenants whatsoever. Many properties severely run down in very close proximity. Lots of crop dusting in area and on property/may effect some with health problems. On this property 3 months/left early/Owner made it an extremely uncomfortable environment. Had to make several calls to local law enforcement-even 911/Was leaving in 4 days but due to uncovering owners background was kicked out and given 6 hours to leave/NEVER have had a issue traveling/female in fifties traveling alone/Owner is a bully and in my opinion unstable/wife is equally unstable (My opinion) BACKGROUND CHECK IS EXTREMELY EASY AND AFFORDABLE TO DO/BACKGROUND CHECK WAS VERIFIED Any man who would support these individuals is equally disgusting (MY Opinion) read more

We really enjoyed our month long stay at Uncompahgre River RV Park! Mark and Michelle went out of their way to make us feel welcome. They are friendly, hardworking, and very informative. And somehow they still find the time and energy to organize social events several times a week. They also coordinate potlucks throughout the summer. Count yourself fortunate if you attend one of them where Mark offers up his excellent smoked brisket! The park is very quiet and peaceful. Every site we saw looks level. The Uncompahgre River runs right next to the park. There are benches built on the bank where you can relax and watch the river flow by. We really appreciated the individual showers/bathrooms. The only negatives for us were: The cottonwood trees shed their seeds and cotton for about two weeks in May so we ended up dragging those into our RV during that time. And due to the shade trees, not all sites are satellite TV friendly. When we were making reservations we mentioned our desire to use our own dish. Mark and Michelle made sure we had a site that met our needs. The park does offer free cable TV with 25 popular channels. The free WIFI signal was strong, stable, and fast enough for our needs. Olathe itself is a quiet, agricultural town. Not much going on here. However, the town is located close to Montrose and Delta where there are quite a few shopping/dining options. And Grand Junction is only about an hour away. The town, parks, trails, and reservoir at Ridgeway and the Black Canyon of the Gunnison are nearby as well. We would definitely stay here again! read more

What a beautiful setting! The people were so nice, the bathrooms are individual rooms with shower and stool and so nice and clean. The wifi was good - We would definitely recommend this campground and hope to get back for a longer stay. Thank you for everything! read more
