    This is really a 1.5 star review but Yelp doesn't do half-stars, so bumped it up to a 2…read more I want to preface this review by stating that under our particular circumstances...at the end of the day, Enterprise did do the right thing. Unfortunately, this sadly was not the first time this has happened, but we'll gladly will give credit where credit is due. Long story short: Due to the last "bait and switch" incident, we decided it was best to reserve a Premium SUV a month in advance and add on roadside assistance and damage insurance. The day before we were supposed to pick up the vehicle, my hubs phone was blowing up. When he was finally able to call them back, it was another "bait and switch." Once again they somehow didn't have the specific vehicle we reserved. Seriously, it felt like we were in the middle of a Seinfeld episode. If you know, you know. ;-) Anyway, when my hubs asked why the Premium SUV we "reserved" was no longer available, here were some of the responses: 1. One customer extended their rental...wasn't sure when they'd return it. 2. The one Premium SUV they did have in inventory had balding tires which needed to be replaced and wouldn't be ready until 8am the next day. Sorry, but not gonna work. 3. They had a smaller SUV available, but it was a no-go - we reserved a Premium SUV because we NEEDED a Premium SUV! 3. They offered us two smaller SUV's for the price of one. Appreciate the offer, but now our crew has to split up for the sake of their mess-up? Hard pass. Anyway, they managed to get us a Premium SUV just in the nick of time and gave us a small discount because they had no time to clean/detail the interior/exterior, and believe me it was filthy! Here's the kicker. We hit the road and after our second stop for gas, a tire was rapidly losing air. Not gonna say what I'm thinking but I'm sure y'all are with me on this. I won't bore you with the details of that unexpected event, but we managed to get a new tire and were back on the road again. Enterprise did ask the tire store to invoice them, but they would not agree - apparently they've been stiffed by EP and other car rental companies in the past by doing this. When we got back home and returned the vehicle...after several discussions, Customer Service Rep (Jessica G) and Branch Manager (Alex H) were helpful, understanding and did us a solid, which we appreciated. We may give Enterprise another chance...after all, thirds times a charm...Right?

I called the Alamo 800 number to advise them that I would not be picking the van up on the 21st but would be in on the 22nd. Was told by the rep that their policy does not permit that & the whole reservation would be cancelled. I offered to pay up front for the rental, again advised that this was not possible. Luckily I found the local Montrose number for Alamo and Carlton(branch manager) told me that not to worry & the van would be waiting for me upon arrival on the 22nd. Great customer service by Carlton! My advise: never call the 800 number for Alamo. Go local!

    My family and I were coming to town for a wedding and had used Priceline to rent a car at Alamo…read more Since getting to Montrose is a major haul from basically anywhere, by 10am when we arrived we had already had a nine hour day and just wanted to relax. I went to the rental desk at the time we said we would be coming with all of my confirmation documents, but lo and behold there were NO cars. This is completely unacceptable but the response we got from the employees was even worse. There is no excuse to not have a car ready when we have already paid for it. There is no excuse for the company and employees to not try to remedy the situation by contacting another company. The options given to me were that we could wait for at least three hours and a car might show up, or we could check with the other rental companies to see if they had something. It is not my duty to wait at the airport. It is not my duty to negotiate a new rental. The staff at Alamo, including the manager who was not on site and could only be contacted by phone, was utterly useless and even seemed irritated with our frustrations. Mind you, this was not just my problem, there were many more people who did not get their cars from Alamo that day. Skip the headache, go to Budget. They are actually helpful. And they have cars.
