We stayed at Riverbend RV Resort and Cabins for two nights during the off season in December and…read moreabsolutely loved it. The property is beautiful, with a river running right alongside--perfect for kids and dogs to play. Our site was private and secluded, making it feel like our own little getaway. The bathrooms were large and clean with warm showers and great water pressure. The property manager was welcoming and helpful, personally guiding us to our site and clearly taking pride in the property. The only small downside was laundry--not all machines accept cards and there's no quarter machine, but the office was happy to make change. Overall, a great stay and we'd definitely return.

Clean and well-maintained, lots of mature shade trees, well-appointed with gas grills, lovely seating areas, well-tended plants and flowers everywhere, manicured, lawn, and friendly helpful staff. We stayed at one of the deluxe cabins and it was tidy with a pretty well stocked kitchen. Bed was surprisingly comfortable. A nice walking path is nearby, but the mosquitoes were too thick to be out past 5 PM so we had to abort that idea. Minor improvement suggestions would be: *use mosquito abatement measures for the campground pond and surrounding areas - they were vicious! *Improve the dogpark grounds - the billows of dusty soil were a lot. Maybe wood chips or another material We would definitely stay again if we visit the area in the future

If you are looking for a peaceful campsite, be mindful of the time of year you visit…read more This campground and area of Colorado are one of our favorite places to relax and vacation. Things have been changing over the last few years here. It was good to see they now have signs in different areas around campsites as where to walk, and where not to walk. They had a special program at the amphitheater on the Saturday that we were there, but they did not allow dogs, so I was unable to go. (I think different national parks and monuments handle this differently, as in Capitol Reef, in Utah, we have been invited to their night events when camping by the presenters themselves.) On recent trips, we have seen some strange things. But this past weekend (during an early and cool part of summer,) we were left stunned by some of the fellow campers. Originally, we booked on recreation.gov to camp for several days. When we arrived, we were able to move to the C section, which is no generators, and is generally more peaceful. Usually, most people are very respectful of other campers. There were young boys at the campsite next to ours who were very loudly discussing how they were killing ants with charcoal briquettes. Later, the father tells them to bury the briquettes in the dirt. The charcoal thing was a bit worrisome with the dry branches all around the campsites. Another night, at 3 AM, a young child is screaming and crying. A few minutes are understandable. This went on for over a half hour. While this campground and area will always be very special to me, camping in my own backyard in the suburbs is more peaceful than camping here during the summer.

So glad they had a very clean bathroom with running water and flushing toilets. We came about midnight and I accidentally set my car alarm off, sorry to our neighbors lol, we made a little more noise on accident just cus it was really dark. Loved the camp site would def go again. Oh and be careful driving up at night very windy roads.

The occasion: viewing the incredible "Keith Haring: Grace House Mural" exhibition at MCA Denver back in 2021. Towards the end of my visit, I went upstairs to the rooftop and purchased a bottle of Big B's organic lemonade. Organic ingredients include lemon juice, cane sugar, whole lemons and apple juice, along with filtered water and natural flavor. What I loved about this lemonade is the citrus essence was great, it was not cloyingly sweet (more moderately sweet), and the apple juice gave it a welcome, totally different taste not found in most lemonades. Drinking this delicious lemonade was a great way to cap off an enjoyable visit to the museum. On a different note, I didn't realize Hotchkiss, Colorado is actually closer to Utah than Denver. It's about 236 miles away from Denver. But if I'm ever taking a road trip, I would like to visit Big B's Delicious Orchards.

I have also purchased their cider in other venues. Camping is awesome with incredible views and solitude depending on how many other people are camping. The ponds and kayaks are so much fun. The cider is excellent and service is friendly. I would definitely go back and hope to go to one other concert sometime in the summer.
