The reason I give two stars is because their return policy on items is you have to contact claims department, everything is a final sale regardless of what's wrong with it if it's missing parts or sold broken?? Purchased a dump bin off the website and went to pick it up but realized it was larger then the photo on the website so asked to exchange for the smaller on pictured on the website. Even though the product had not moved I was charged a 20% restocking fee which amounted to over $220.00 dollars even though I still purchased the smaller unit that was only $40 cheaper it cost me way more. When I asked for a refund of the "restocking" fee was just told to bad its "policy" no if ands or buts ! I took it back for an exchange and was told that they could not exchange or refund. I would have to send an email to the claims department. Bizarre eclectic china imports. Some are overpriced. Most are reasonable. I've seen things in there that I've never seen anywhere else in a physical store in Edmonton. It's fun just to wander through and be surprised to find something unexpected on the next shelf. The closest thing I can compare it to is wandering through Princess Auto's surplus area... only it's an entire store. I did not realize that being belittled was apart of their service model! I go in for an item, bring it to the counter and am told it's a 2 box set. No problem, I go back to get the other box and it's not there, I go back and ask for help to show me. I am promptly told it's there, "you missed it" and instead of helping, she spins her screen around to show me like I'm an idiot. To add insult to injury, she asks me to put the box down on the floor as it's a hazard sitting in the counter. I'm not gonna lie. We stopped in here because the name of the store made me laugh, and really...what could they possibly be selling in here? Well, if you're looking for a cotton candy machine, a chicken plucker, a self contained grow-op, snow blower, greenhouse, hot dog roller, tennis ball launcher, bouncy castle, commercial gas range or a tire changer machine, you've come to the right place! This is a wild and wonderful place to wander around and find all those hard to get items you never knew you wanted! You need to take your time looking around, there's a LOT to see. It's a bit cluttered in spots, but the store is quite big. I really loved the big commercial popcorn cart! It would go great in the home theatre room! We did get some ideas for projects we're working on and we'll definitely be back to see what else they get in. We didn't make a purchase or interact with any staff, so I can't comment on that. I was reading some reviews pisted here I live across the street from the Calgary location.. First I have to say the name of this biz is a complete turn off from ever wanting to step in.. but I finally took the leap.. I consider this place clean well organized and extremely helpful. Including no judgement.. (the adult section)the Caucasian guy knew more about certain things than I ever hoped too! Lol Yes some of the items are priced higher and most are extremely fair or lower. There is no bargaining for sure but what should I expect. It's a store with prices set just like any other biz This is a well established place.. I never had any problems with items I have just read things were missing outta ppl purchases or broken ect .. I don't understand why some shoppers would give a 1 star for this.. go anywhere especially around Xmas and view your items.. every place has an item we are not happy about at some point.. Nothing spectacular, I was in the area and thought to give it a try. The majority of stuff there are overpriced or outdated but again it all depends on what you are on the look for. You might find a bargain or two. I found it overcrowded with people and all kind of items from furniture, to equipment, to grow lights, to house decor and fitness equipment, etc. The places is not huge but it is packed. Came across the store online and decided to check them out. We went to the Lethbridge location and met John and his wife Tina. They were both extremely helpful and willing to order in items that they didn't have in stock. Upon inspecting the items I decided to purchase. Couldn't be happier. Bought a wood chipper which was priced considerably lower than elsewhere. Took it home and used it and it works very well. Also purchased several other items which have been working fine so far. John was willing to help me load some of the heavier stuff and even gave me a gift. Overall, very pleased with the store and will be going back in the future. read more

Was told to submit claim to Claims@Uncle wieners. 18 days later and still no response from claims although I received a automatic response indicating that I would receive a personal response within 24-48 hours. very dissatisfied and letting everyone I know about the sh#$^ service they have. I called a number that led me to the warehouse where I just spoke with a guy named "John" who said he would email them to follow up...... Most disorganized store ever, went there to buy garage flooring, the "salesman" said they have been sold out for a month and that they are expecting more in a month, I questioned why they put a new ad up on Kijiji that day advertising them for sale when they haven't had stock and will not have stock (for 2 months) he just walked away. They have so many great items for sale that are NEVER IN STOCK yet they still advertise them! It is August and I've been waiting since May to get an advertised trampoline from them, told many different times of when they'd be expected in yet they never are. Yet there are still new Kijiji ads posted daily with the trampoline. Why post something if it's not available?!?! Also, told 5-6 weeks now. We live in Alberta. Summer will be over by then. Seems to be a trend with most of the reviews, and I agree 100%. They advertise products they do not have in stock, and are extremely unhelpful. They tell you to call back, they tell you email, and when you do, they seem like they couldn't care less about your business. I really like stores that have unusual items. Edmonton seems like such a conformist retail picture - what colour do you want that device/food item/piece of clothing in? Let's not deviate too much off this well trodden stuff. Maybe you guessed by now but I'm a terminally weird shopper. My current project is to go all LED lighting in our house, not just to reduce our electricity usage at the currently obscenely high rates but to reduce our carbon footprint a little. The project went on hold as I pondered how to replace some old little fluorescent fixtures in the basement. When I saw 4' fluorescent tubes that bypass the ballast at Uncle Weiner's (Yelp, please correct your spelling) for a decent price, I went and bought two for experimental purposes. I couldn't have been more wrong that this was the ticket to going all LED in the house. Could I have been more wrong? The first of two tubes was cracked , hidden by the foam wrapping. I followed the salesman's instructions for wiring and the second, good tube shorted out with a display of sparks. Also, it was difficult to fit as the tubes are 5 mm longer than regular tubes. When returning the tubes, I was informed that I would only get a credit note. Since this was during the early stages of the covid-19 crisis and the woman serving me wore a mask, I grabbed the credit and ran. Presumably, I'll need something equally weird in the future I can use the credit on but I'm really not a happy camper about Uncle Weiner's at the moment. read more

Worst Customer service EVER. We bought a bike in a box, we got the bike home to assemble it. We opened the box to find the box had previously been opened. The manual was missing. 5 days later we are STILL waiting for customer service to produce the missing manual. The Calgary store just flat out doesn't answer their phone, after repeatedly calling them for 15 min straight I got through to a store associate. She was completely uninterested to help & gave the impression "why are you calling, I don't need to help you". The Manger clearly doesn't care either & is MIA & is uninterested to help. Totally unacceptable business practice. Can't pay with credit cards - why? Because they know there can be charge backs for their terrible products that the business refuses to deal with. They also do not offer refunds. It's 2022 for heaven's sake, they should get with the program. I purchased an outdoor animal enclosure. It started rusting within a week or so. Contacted the company. I was told to send an email with the original receipt attached, and I would receive instructions from there. Someone did get back to me, indicating I could return to the store with the enclosure and they would replace the item. So we put the new item together, within weeks this time, it was rusting. I once again contacted the company. No response...not for months. I contacted BBB to get in touch with the company. They won't even respond to BBB!?!
