Wow, SO happy to have moved in down the street from Uncle Tsang's. I am half Chinese and am happy to report that this place satisfies. I was a little skeptical at first because some of the Yelp reviews made it seem like an American-Chinese type place (such places are often terrible). Yeah, they serve General Tso's chicken, but their food is fresh, hot, and delicious. Perfectly seasoned to satisfy! Appetizers are cheap and generous. We enjoyed their salt and pepper shrimp, perfectly crispy. We gushed over the fried eggplant (only $4!). Oh my gosh, my husband and I LOVE their soups. I have eaten a LOT of egg drop soup and theirs is easily one of the best. The hot and sour soup is also great. Oh, I have to mention their potstickers. They are ENORMOUS and cooked to perfection. Seriously, biggest potstickers ever. I like the chicken ones. They serve them with chili oil and a perfect dipping sauce. The chow mein is tasty, as well as the Dandan noodles. I can't wait to try the fried rice! You can eat like a king here with very little money. The entrees are big enough to split. The people running the truck are so very friendly and kind. Uncle Tsang's is amazing. I haven't been to impressed with Portland's Chinese food but Uncle Tsang does it right. He will actually make your food spicy too, not just kind of hot but make you sweat hot. I've had the shrimp fried rice, pot stickers, and fried mushrooms. read more

Uncle Tsang's is the best chinese food cart in Portland hands down! The food is high quality and fresh. You can tell that he invests the money he makes more in the food than the esthetic of the food cart itself. They take cards, and always greet with a friendly smile. Give it a try! This is the best Chinese place I have been to. The curry pineapple shrimp fried rice is fried to perfection. The veggie egg roles are filled with fresh cabbage and carrots. The sauce that comes with is heaven. They cook everything fresh and it's all delicious! Portions are legit. The Kung pow chicken and shrimp is so spicy and good. I love you uncle tsang! read more

I made a yelp account just to post about how amazing this Chinese food is. Everything was sublime and the crispy green beans with homemade mustard sauce were particularly good. We're big meat eaters, but we ordered all vegetarian in the spirit of Uncle Tsang's (the whole cart is going vegetarian as of June 6th) and we didn't regret it for a moment! Eric is the nicest guy around, and the service was quick. We sat outside and loved the atmosphere of the food cart area. We can't wait to come back! read more

Best pot stickers anywhere! Shrimp in lobster sauce, egg rolls, and walnut chicken all outstanding. I dinged them one star because their chow mein dishes were basically spaghetti. They could've been out of their regular product, and if that was the case, they should've just told us. No big deal, but it was an unpleasant surprise when we got home. read more

best Chinese food cart in Ptown. Offers Vegan and Gluten Free options. Depending on what you order this ranges from being legit oldschool american chinese food but if you order the gizzards or eggplant the flavors and spices lend more towards an authentic style of cooking. Stumbled upon this gem as I was driving down Alberta looking for a place to grab a quick meal to go. I was not disappointed. The service was friendly and the food was great! I got the lettuce wraps and they were comparable to PF Chang's famous lettuce wraps. I told my roommate about this place when I got home and she went there a few hours later and got the Szechuan chicken which she also enjoyed. We both had enough left over for lunch the next day which is always a plus. I will definitely be back! read more

This food cart is charming, and the couple who cook are equally as charming and wonderful. I very much wanted to be able to give this place 5 stars, but one of the dishes we ordered, vegetarian noodles, was a dud. Overcooked, underflavored, not much tofu or vegetables. Just a big box of soft noodles. The string beans and homestyle tofu, however, are on par with the best Chinese food in Portland (which isn't saying all that much)! read more

I wanted something different. The anchovy fried rice with ground chicken sausage caught my eye. Also ordered the crispy eggplant because eggplant is amazing when cooked properly. Both were so delicious. The eggplant - wow delicious fried goodness, and the inside of the eggplant was so soft and creamy. It was not hard to eat. It. All. The fried rice dish next. Little did I know that this was a dish I grew up eating and looooooved as a kid! I knew it as salty fish rice (anchovies duh). I haven't had it in many many years, so it was an incredible burst of flavor and instant recognition when I took the first bite and realized what it was. This dish made me so happy. It's definitely smelly because of the anchovy, so I wouldn't recommend eating it indoors. The service was great - everything made to order, and both people who were there were very nice and checked on us. Definitely will be going back again. We have lived in the Alberta area for many many years and the main thing that has always been missing is good Chinese food. We were so pleased when Uncle Tsang's showed up, and the food is absolutely terrific. Very fresh, with great spices. This cart has recently converted to vegetarian and vegan only, which is perfect for me. I went there today and ordered a vegan hot & sour soup, veggie chow mien, and the broccoli and beef. The soup was like a magical elixir for my sore throat, and the chow mien and broccoli and beef were fantastic. The portions are huge, and the entire order was less than $20. I don't know if that price can be beaten, but the quality of the food certainly can't! read more
