We tried Uncle Tsang's Kitchen for the first time tonight, and we WILL be going back. The ingredients are fresh, meals are made to order, and the owner was kind, helpful, and very friendly. Amazing service. Amazing food. I hope this place is around for a long time to come! read more

Uncle Tsang's is the best chinese food cart in Portland hands down! The food is high quality and fresh. You can tell that he invests the money he makes more in the food than the esthetic of the food cart itself. They take cards, and always greet with a friendly smile. Give it a try! The fried rice with bacon and hot oil is BOMB. I also recommend the Ma Po Tofu. I love everything Ive tried here. may have to head over there right now! :) read more

This is the best Chinese place I have been to. The curry pineapple shrimp fried rice is fried to perfection. The veggie egg roles are filled with fresh cabbage and carrots. The sauce that comes with is heaven. They cook everything fresh and it's all delicious! Portions are legit. The Kung pow chicken and shrimp is so spicy and good. I love you uncle tsang! read more

Been wanting to try this place for a while, it's GREAT! He's super friendly, uses fresh ingredients, has a bunch of gluten free options, makes everything to order, very good sized portions. Tried the Szechuan chicken and broccoli & chicken, both were delicious! Going back often!! read more

Really lovely people who make delicious, flavorful food using fresh ingredients. So glad to have this gem in the neighborhood! The hot and sour soup is so, so good! Good prices, good portions. read more

Uncle Tsang's is amazing. I haven't been to impressed with Portland's Chinese food but Uncle Tsang does it right. He will actually make your food spicy too, not just kind of hot but make you sweat hot. I've had the shrimp fried rice, pot stickers, and fried mushrooms. read more

Super nice people, super tasty food, quality ingredients, AND they are open during the sleet storm that has the rest of the street closed down. LOVE this place. read more

Get here quick for some really good Chinese food. Afterwards, go across the street to Random Order Coffee for a slice of pie. You'll have a happy belly, trust me! read more

*** Oops, the shrimp have shells on but not heads. Hope that didn't put you off because they are awesome!

I made a yelp account just to post about how amazing this Chinese food is. Everything was sublime and the crispy green beans with homemade mustard sauce were particularly good. We're big meat eaters, but we ordered all vegetarian in the spirit of Uncle Tsang's (the whole cart is going vegetarian as of June 6th) and we didn't regret it for a moment! Eric is the nicest guy around, and the service was quick. We sat outside and loved the atmosphere of the food cart area. We can't wait to come back! read more

Best pot stickers anywhere! Shrimp in lobster sauce, egg rolls, and walnut chicken all outstanding. I dinged them one star because their chow mein dishes were basically spaghetti. They could've been out of their regular product, and if that was the case, they should've just told us. No big deal, but it was an unpleasant surprise when we got home. read more

best Chinese food cart in Ptown. Offers Vegan and Gluten Free options. Depending on what you order this ranges from being legit oldschool american chinese food but if you order the gizzards or eggplant the flavors and spices lend more towards an authentic style of cooking. Super nice owner and family. Good drinking food. read more

Delicious! Good size portions and amazing flavors. I would give a higher grade but when I was there last they didn't have any beef options. What happens to your beef and broccoli? It was so good. read more

This food cart is charming, and the couple who cook are equally as charming and wonderful. I very much wanted to be able to give this place 5 stars, but one of the dishes we ordered, vegetarian noodles, was a dud. Overcooked, underflavored, not much tofu or vegetables. Just a big box of soft noodles. The string beans and homestyle tofu, however, are on par with the best Chinese food in Portland (which isn't saying all that much)! read more

Fantastic! Stopped by to eat at the Piknik on a sunny day, service was great and the food was delicious.

Soooo good! Get the fried shrimp. Everytime I've gone, I order something different and it's never disappointed.

Stumbled upon this gem as I was driving down Alberta looking for a place to grab a quick meal to go. I was not disappointed. The service was friendly and the food was great! I got the lettuce wraps and they were comparable to PF Chang's famous lettuce wraps. I told my roommate about this place when I got home and she went there a few hours later and got the Szechuan chicken which she also enjoyed. We both had enough left over for lunch the next day which is always a plus. I will definitely be back! read more

The orange chicken and garlic eggplant were so good! Very friendly people. Great prices. A++

I wanted something different. The anchovy fried rice with ground chicken sausage caught my eye. Also ordered the crispy eggplant because eggplant is amazing when cooked properly. Both were so delicious. The eggplant - wow delicious fried goodness, and the inside of the eggplant was so soft and creamy. It was not hard to eat. It. All. The fried rice dish next. Little did I know that this was a dish I grew up eating and looooooved as a kid! I knew it as salty fish rice (anchovies duh). I haven't had it in many many years, so it was an incredible burst of flavor and instant recognition when I took the first bite and realized what it was. This dish made me so happy. It's definitely smelly because of the anchovy, so I wouldn't recommend eating it indoors. The service was great - everything made to order, and both people who were there were very nice and checked on us. Definitely will be going back again. Great portion size, price, service, and quality -check it out. read more

We have lived in the Alberta area for many many years and the main thing that has always been missing is good Chinese food. We were so pleased when Uncle Tsang's showed up, and the food is absolutely terrific. Very fresh, with great spices. We hope that they don't leave us or if they do it's for a storefront on Alberta. read more

They are so nice and the food is some of the best in Portland. Excellent vegetarian options and always adding more.

Finally a decent Chinese food place. I'm Chinese and from San Francisco and this place is great. The salty fish fried rice is the best I've had even from SF!! read more

This food stand is hands down the best Chinese food I have had. It's made to order, the veggies were fresh, lots of vegan options and such a sweet couple who runs it! Absolutely make your way to pick up your meal here next time you are craving Chinese. read more

Best Chinese food around, the prices are amazing and the food quality top notch. Uncle Tsang himself is wonderful along with his wife and daughter always so friendly. He can pretty much make up anything for you even if its not on the menu. read more

This cart has recently converted to vegetarian and vegan only, which is perfect for me. I went there today and ordered a vegan hot & sour soup, veggie chow mien, and the broccoli and beef. The soup was like a magical elixir for my sore throat, and the chow mien and broccoli and beef were fantastic. The portions are huge, and the entire order was less than $20. I don't know if that price can be beaten, but the quality of the food certainly can't! read more

Delicious vegetarian food. Large portions and reasonably priced. My go to Chinese vegetarian in the city.

Wow, so freaking good. Is this the best, spiciest Chinese food in Portland? I wonder. We ordered: crispy eggplant (was there a hint of wasabi in there?), great hot and sour soup with giant rectangles of tofu, spicy beef and broccoli, and Szechuan tofu. All of this was only around $20... we were so impressed. How does this one guy do it all? read more

good and friendly. uncle tsang is basically my uncle at this point. the faces working at the cart are always familiar and nice. the food is good; it kinda takes a while to get but u know they in there making ur food wit Love. alberta in the summertime; As Good As It Gets. read more

I have to say that every time I come to this place I am never disappointed. After looking over the extensive menu, I explain to the chef/owner that I am trying a low carb diet and would like something without rice or noodles (I did order a 10oz beer from the beer cart next door, but I feel confident I met my low carb goal ;) but back to the food. After telling the chef what I liked and did not like he made me this delicious mix of tofu and veggies, minus mushrooms :p, that had an extra spicy sauce on the side (that is where the beer came in handy). Food was great and I love when a chef takes the time to make an order the way the customer wants it. Thank you :) read more

Really great food, served hot to order, tasty! Uncle Tsang is great, he always remembers us and brings us our food. Have tried several Chinese restaurants and carts since we moved here, and this is definitely one of the best we've come across. (ps the Dan Dan noodles are highly recommended) read more

Not gonna lie, at first I was annoyed with the wait time but holy crap was it worth it. Soooo good!

Delicious! Fresh food prepared by the nicest people! We ordered the broccoli, green beans, cashew chicken, sweet and sour chicken, chow mein, fried rice, salt/pepper shrimp, egg rolls, pot stickers and it came with white rice, condiments, and fortune cookies. We're stuffed and can't wait to go back again! Finally, a great place to get wonderful Chinese food! read more
