The food costs like 40% more than what you'd pay at most Mexican restaurants. While the food is good it's not worth what they are charging.

Their table side guacamole and chocolate piñatas are delicious. The rest of the food has left me wanting more as far as flavor and the service was slow. But I would give it another shot. read more

My parents and I went here because we heard fantastic reviews. Unfortunately, if I could give 0 stars I would. It was the absolute worst food I have ever had in a restaurant. The flavors were beyond lacking. We honestly couldn't believe there was an hour and a half wait. We all left hungry and ended up getting food on the way back to my place. I was furious. I don't recommend anyone eat here. read more

My wife and I decided to try this Tex-Mex restaurant last weekend out of sheer curiosity. I honestly didnt even want to try it because im more a fan of authentic mexican food than tex-mex style restaurants. Upon arrival, because it was the weekend, the joint was massively packed. We gave our names and was told for two people that we would have a 20 minute wait. We decided to hit the bar in between time and have a few cocktails. The first problem I had with this place was the fact that the central air was not working at all in the bar area and I began to sweat profusely. The second problem was that it literally took every bit of 10 minutes for someone to wipe down the bar top area in front of us. To be honest by the time they wiped it down it was time to head back to our tables. We also had to tab out at the bar top rather than tranferring this bill to our table. We head back to our tables and I notice that this place is definitely over staffed and table and chairs are poorly spaced. We took a look at the menus and quickly realized that the food was definitely over priced so I decided to just get a queso and beef appetizer while my wife ordered the chicken quesadillas. The queso with beef was ok but mediocre at best. My wife said she was absolutely sure the cheese was velveeta. My wife said her quesadillas were ok but pulled out a bone halfway through the meal. I definitely dont recommend this place when looking for mexican food and I were you I would stick with authentic mexican food instead! read more

Steak fajitas are outstanding! The chicken is so-so. It depends on your personal preferences for Mexican food, but I'd rather spend 1/2 the $ and have leftovers. The servings are not comparable to local chains and appetizers that would be free, you pay $8 here. Great place to socialize but I won't be back for a casual meal. read more

We went Friday night and had a reservation for 8:00 we were not seated until 8:25 but one of the training managers (Roshelle) made the wait well worth our while!!!! Not only was all of the food fantastic but our waiter Jose was FABULOUS and friendly as well!!!!! I asked him if we could request him the next time we came and being that it is a Mexican restaurant was he the only Jose? He said to ask for the chocolate Jose!! This is now one of my new favorite places for food and drinks. The location is very nice and patio will be perfect for visiting with friends! read more

Is there a manager in the house? Slowest service ever. This is the second time I've tried this place with the same result. SUPER SLOW

When we arrived we were told it would be 15-20 minutes. After waiting 30 minutes I realized that people that came in after my party got seated before us. I went to the hostess stand and asked how much longer and that I saw several parties that arrived after us got called back. She said I am so sorry I forgot to put your number in the system and I tried to get you back I was sitting on the patio... so I said ok how much longer now? She said you will be seated next...after 2 more parties get seated we finally get seated I was getting ready to head back up there however they called us. I have heard really good things about this place we were really excited! I was not impressed with the food for what it cost. Our waitress was excellent. The guy that brought our food out was not the friendliest and didn't want to be bothered. We will not be back. It was a bad experience and I understand that places can have bad nights. But the food was not as epic as I was lead to believe Teds will continue to get my business. read more

The food was delicious and the staff was so attentive-we'll be back! Try the swirl and the queso blanco!

We went for a couple of beers with queso and guacamole. The queso and guacamole tasted amazing! Our only concern about this place is the service. We sat at the bar and noticed pretty quickly that the bartenders didn't seem to be very polite or attentive. One walked by and didn't even say hello, just said, "Oh, have you ordered drinks yet?" Then listened to our drink order while he talked to another bartender. It was odd. Another bartender just didn't seem to have great social skills. I think the atmosphere and food are great. I just wish this place would train their servers to be a little more welcoming and polite to patrons. read more

Usually enjoy Uncle Julio's. This time the tableside guacamole had a considerably large piece of hard avocado in it. Our waiter seemed a bit s attested. I still recommend them because it's overall good. read more

Food is good. Service is bad. Been here twice and waiters seem untrained. Always crowded, so expect a wait to get in. Pricey.

We're having a great time on Uncle Julio's patio. We made reservations and got the perfect table! Also, the perfect server, TRINITY!! She's the best I'm OKC. Thanks for a great evening!!Most read more

Absolute worst service I have ever had. There was a group of 6 of us on a Monday, restaurant was absolutely dead. Waitress had 1 other table, didn't refill anything or check on our table. Took her over 1 hour to come take our order after us asking multiple times. Food was good but absolutely ridiculous service. read more

Took my Fiancé here for his birthday and wow I think I did a good job at picking his birthday dinner. The food was AMAZING. Their chicken was so juicy and tender and the bacon was like candied bacon. It was very yummy! Our waitress was so kind and very helpful and she made the experience enjoyable! We got the table side guacamole which was cool and fresh. We ended with their chocolate piñata and that was sooooooo sweet and good! You will be leaving with a couple of to go boxes filled with chocolate pieces. Definitely recommend! read more

The table side Guacamole app is flavorless and too expensive. Basic menu! Way over priced for just having boring enchiladas, tacos, and fajitas. Nothing exciting or different to make me want to pay over $15, definitely not paying that for basic cheese enchiladas and rice and beans that weren't even good. Fish tacos made me nauseous and sick all night. It was way too loud in the restaurant that we Couldn't even hear each other. Service was terrible. We won't be returning. Very disappointing. read more

Love the food and the patio. So happy to have them in OKC. Great central location. I love the queso and tortillas. Yum!

Best margaritas in town, upscale Mexican food which is great and they have amazing carnitas and Barbacoa

Very nice establishment, salsa was terrible, very thin chips, queso was $8 for a small amount and all around over priced.

Hello Mexican eatery people, love this place for the atmosphere, and where it sets, if you like Tex-mex it is good, but there are not many Tex - mex places that are not good, but not fantastic, drinks to much money and the food is very expensive, but the menu is very large with a lot of good choices, it is very pricy but very kool on colors and decorations, you probably will have to make your own call, I did, and so have a lot of my friends that we where told not to waste our money so make your own opinion but dont get sticker shock , when the bill comes and you say wow for this! read more

Yummy food!!! More on the higher priced but we have not been disappointed. The chocolate piñata is sooo fun. Definitely have to order it at least once! read more

Let's just start with the ambiance, which keeps this review from being a one star: very nice location, patio, lights, etc. And now for the truth: apparently the Edmond area was in need of an upscale Mexican establishment where $14 margaritas and $40 fajitas could be had and patrons could wait for an hour and a half to do so on a Friday or Saturday night. (We did try on Friday but came back Sunday for a much better wait time of 15 minutes) The wait doesn't end there. After being seated it took five minutes to get menus and waters to drink, all the while being seated in a booth that seemed that of a 15th century Spanish castle complete with no lighting in front of you. It's very dark in the place. Since we waited for a waiter to come along, we decided to order our drinks and appetizer when she did finally make her way to us. $14 hot pepper margarita 'El Jefe' and a $13 Platinum Swirl margarita with a 1800 Silver shot in a folded out lime. The chips and salsa came first: This is where it went downhill: just regular chips. Something you'd find at Bueno or any run of the mill Mexican restaurant. The salsa: umm. I don't know if this is what the masses have decided what's popular and great but let's be real here. I like to pour some salsa on my meal, be it the rice or on top of my enchiladas. This salsa won't be going anywhere near it. UJ you should have at least another one to go to besides this one. It tastes like someone took some Pace Medium and went and got some packets of Diablo sauce at Taco Bell and mixed it together. Very smoky. Very eh. The margaritas were serviceable but come on: $13-14? And it says a shot. It was more like a capful of liquor, def not a shot. The nachos, $14+ were just laid out tortilla chips around a platter smothered with Colby jack cheese and ONE strip of skirt steak on each chip and a mini scoop of sour cream and guac which didn't last very long. Why does everything have to be hidden by massive amounts of cheese these days? Bottom line: $50 for two drinks and an appetizer just doesn't sit well on the palate or the wallet considering what you get (heck we saw on the menu that Grilled Vegetables for 2 costs $30!...VEGETABLES!) so we went off into the dark of night not wanting to order an entree to be disappointed once again and wondered aloud if the area would be getting an upscale chicken tender joint to coincide with this. I doubt we'll ever come back here. Maybe to take pictures of our food or just to be seen, because that's the novelty of the place. read more

Disappointed. Not much hope when chips and salsa are bad at a Mexican restaurant. quesadilla is the easiest to make but didn't taste good here: dry chicken, dry tortilla, no taste. Will not come back. read more

Had to make reservations and was disappointed in the overall experience. The chips are good but the salsa was not. The rice is very dry. Had to ask for standard things you would usually get from a Mexican restaurant. Had to ask for napkins, sugar, refills, tortillas, butter. The sopapillas are ok. The food is very expensive for the quality you receive. Very nice venue but disappointing food. read more

Let me first say the food was pretty good, once we got it, but it was the process of acquiring it that was extremely difficult! We arrived at opening time (11 am) on a Sunday because we knew it would get crowded. We were greeted fairly quickly and received our drinks, but it would be another 20 mins before our server returned to take our order. About 30 mins later our meals arrived but a couple of them were incorrect so....back to the kitchen. A manager came by to speak with us and assured us they would be remaking our meals and not charging us for the ones that came out wrong. Time kept passing and by now the restaurant (and apparently our rarely seen server) had gotten quite busy. We finally just ended up eating the wrong meals that were now cold and chewing on the ice from our empty drinks. The manager stopped by again and assured us that our replacements meals were still on the way and we requested that they just be boxed up to take home since it was now almost 1 pm! We had considered the chocolate pinata for dessert, which looks fabulous by the way, but we had just lost interest after 2 hours of waiting on lunch. It's a bit pricey too and might have taken another hour, lol! Maybe next time, but that may be awhile since there are SO many other good (and faster!) Mexican places in town! read more

Foods okay!!! It would be my first choice. The drinks are amazing and the patio is a great atmosphere

Really good food. High quality service. The guacamole is made fresh in front of you and delicious. And, the fajitas are great! However, it's more expensive than I thought it'd be and is a little slow with big groups but would be a great dinner date! read more

Came here for a friends birthday dinner and the patio provided a great atmosphere. The food was above average for a Mexican restaurant in town and the table side guacamole was worth the splurge. All the being said I do not know if it would be worth it to come again with a large party. The service was below average. The waitress was very kind and polite however we waited for at least fifteen minutes before anyone came up to our table, even though we made a reservation. I also had to get up to fill my own water glass at one point. I think it was more of an issue with the amount of staff than the fault of our waitress. read more

Enjoyed our delicious meal and drinks last night. It was a lovely evening to be seated on the delightful patio. The place was hopping with happy diners. Great service. read more

Awesome food. The only thing they can improve on is their salsa. They have a spicier salsa that you can request but overall both salsas are watery which is a shame. Their fajitas are amazing and they can make guacamole in front of you. read more

Excellent in every way, but a little high on price, but still excellent. Unfortunately the price is the only reason for the 4 vs 5 stars. I will go back and recommend but limited to special occasions. read more

The food was good but the waiter we had was nice but looked overwhelmed. We would ask two to three times for refills

We've been to uncle Julio's in Fort Worth, Dallas, Chicago and now okc. Is it higher than other Tex mex, sure but it's quality ever time we've been. We are so glad it wasn't a disappointment. read more

It's just ok. It's too long for you food to come. I realize everything is made from scratch but it just takes to long to get your food.

Sadly, the only food that tasted like the Original Uncle Julio's on Lemmon Street in Dallas was the chips. Service was good. Reservation was easy on Open Table. Much too expensive for the quality of food. Excellent location and decor. read more

Horrible slow service. I wouldn't call it authentic Mexican food. If you want over priced non authentic food with bad service. Come here.

Went for lunch sat at the bar. Ordered lunch nachos and they were so stale that I couldn't chew them. The bartender said that was they way they came. Lol don't think they want to serve stale food. Ordered a quesadilla and boy that was a disappointment. Chicken had no flavor and were served on store bought tortilla with only chicken and cheese sour cream and guacamole. Service was slow and had to ask for tea refills. Tried it twice and I am done. The place is beautiful and very neatly decorated. read more

Food is okay, the tamale's are really good with the hatch chili sauce. Service has consistently been lacking/slow with the exception of a few servers. The patio is large and nice, however it is NOT a dog friendly place. read more

Worst service ever. Saw our waiter smoking in the parking lot after we left. I found hair and scraps of metal in my tamale. Will never come here again. The waiter also seemed very impatient and ready to get us out. Was extremely disappointed, also very expensive. Would not recommend. Go to Ted's !! read more
