Birthday dinner for my daughter and son-in-law!! It was a fun experience... great chicken fajitas and tacos... margaritas were good but a little over priced ... but the dessert piñata was SO FUN!! Great celebration and fun memories!! read more

Great experience at the bar. Each recommendation for specialty drinks was better than the next.

Had hair in my food kitchen manager chuck comes out and tells me sorry then just says "bom bom" and walks off I never got any new food and wtf is "bom bom" read more

Great atmosphere. Tasty food. A little pricy. Ask for the spicy salsa. The chicken tortilla soup is

Gotta tell you, we have loved Uncle Julio's for years when we went to Dallas and were so excited when we saw they were opening in OKC. Took some time, but we finally got there. Went at 5 on a Friday night and got seated immediately on the patio. Service was quick. Our food was out within 5 minutes of ordering!! I got chicken fajitas and was very pleasingly surprised that they offer lettuce shells as a healthier option to tortillas. The fajitas were awesome. I did eat one flour tortilla after the lettuce ran out. One of the best tortillas I have had. My wife wanted fish tacos and ordered two different ones a la carte. She was hoping to get a tuna, but they don't sell them in singles because of the way thru cool the tuna (enough for 3 tacos). She got a shrimp and s tilapia taco and loved them both, but the tilapia one better. Overall, a great dinner! Just as good as any we have had in Dallas. We will be back!!!! read more

In from out of town and tried Uncle Julio's for the first time. Food was very good and Kristan was a terrific server!

We love visiting Uncle Julio's every week!! The Chicken Tamales are our go-to, with Tableside Guacamole & Margaritas - All of the Margaritas are good! If my man is extra hungry, he loves the Filet Fajitas. We had Jake taking care of us tonight for a large birthday & he was amazing - Remembered every order & kept up with everything we needed, even when it was busy! If there is ever a wait, we simply order drinks from the bar & sit on the patio couches. The patio facing the water & fountains has a nice breeze! Take the time to try Uncle Julio's! read more

I'm not a huge Mexican food fan so when we decided to try Uncle Julio's I was a little skeptical. First off their queso is amazing and I believe you must order this before you order anything else. We ordered fajitas which were really delicious. I would say the side dishes like beans and rice were great. The meat is comparable to a lot of other Mexican places. They have this amazing dessert piñata that can feed the whole table. I would prepare for a more pricey meal but it's a good experience. read more

So great!!! Everything about this place was wonderful - food, cocktails and especially our waitress, Marysol. Definitely one of my new favorite places in OKC!! read more

The food is excellent - from the portions to the taste. The wait for the food was a little long today but it was worth it. The only real suggestion I would make is to upgrade to bigger tables or use slightly smaller plates. Maybe a different shaped one. 4 of us ate there tonight and there was no where near enough space for all of the dishes. Other than that, great place to have a nice dinner. read more

If I could give negative stars to this place I would. Had to send back my husbands steak 3 times, he finally just had to eat the 3rd one even though it still wasn't properly cooked. Definitely not worth the long wait. Drinks were mediocre at best. Waiter was worse than mediocre. Only good thing is we got our meal taken care of by the manager due to our experience. read more

It's pretty rare for me to give people a 1 star review. Came on a Sunday evening w/ my family. Altogether we had a party of seven and was quickly sat (possibly due to calling in for reservations). Restaurant wasn't too crowded since we came a little later. The server took a bit to get our drink and appetizer orders. Not sure if she was new or uncomfortable with a larger table. Definitely not training OR if she was, she didn't have a supervising trainer with her. My family ordered a few beers and the server brought out wrong beers. Luckily, they just took them back and brought out the correct ones. Tableside guacamole for appetizers was definitely the highlight of the night. I ordered the combination fajitas which were pretty pricey for what you get. I believe I got 3 shrimp wrapped bacon, 3 pieces of chicken, and 3 pieces of steak and about 24 dollars? Little steep in my opinion. Luckily flour tortillas were homemade and good to eat. We were eating dinner w/ empty water cups and beer glasses, so maybe our server wasn't that attentive. Restaurant wasn't even busy. Towards the end of the meal, while we were waiting for our pinata dessert, a bin fell and broke a few plates, which causes my back to be covered w/ sauce and oil. Luckily none of the broken pieces of glass around us caused any injuries. We didn't even get a slight discount, free dessert, or anything. Not sure how business is ran here. Probably wouldn't come back. read more

Uncle Julio's - Table side guacamole - Tex-Mex Near Me - Oklahoma, Oklahoma

See all

Amazing service by Amanda and the food is wonderful. Will definitely be back and request to sit in her section again

First time to the one in OKC. Been to ones in Dallas and liked a lot. Super crowded on a Saturday night, but worth the wait. We waited on the patio for a table. We loved the atmosphere. The food and swirls were great. We thought the table side guacamole and the chocolate piñatas both looked amazing, but there were only 2 of us! Desiree was our waitress and she really knew the menu. She was very attentive and had great personality! read more

I really looked forward to eating here. What a disappointment I had After experiencing it. The guacamole made by the table was like a salt lick and the dinner totally unrememberable and lacking in good flavor. I'd never eat here again read more

Yeah paid $62 for some ok food. Would not waste your money here. The waitress was great. Yellow quest was crap and the food was not worth $21. Beans were terrible and so was the rice. Bruh read more

Food was blahs and not much taste. The margaritas for $12 a piece lacked alcohol. All on all I could have gotten the.same meal at Chili's only cheaper. read more

Everything was excellent! The watermelon margarita was fresh and delicious! Our service was outstanding and we all loved the table side guacamole. read more

Had a party of nine with a seating time of 1245. Our little party of three arrived first and we were seated immediately. The others followed very shortly thereafter. We had to ask for tortillas. We weren't given small plates on which to put chips or tortillas, so you had to hold everything in your hand until you ate it. Finally after almost a full hour, our food finally arrived. Mine was cold and I immediately sent it back. Others in the party complained afterwards their food was cold or cool when it arrived. Two in the party ordered fajitas. Nothing was piping hot, and several complained of the food being bland. I tried one bacon wrapped shrimp. It was okay. It wasn't anything I couldn't do better at home at 1/10 the price paid. The on duty manager removed my cold meal from the ticket. My wife's enchiladas and our son's chicken fingers and fries, along with our drinks, cost us $25! I don't mind paying for good food, but this wasn't it. I'm conclusion, if you like cold, bland food, this is the place for you. I've decided that all the rave reviews I've been reading are from that type of customer. read more

The food at this place is delicious but the service was quite slow. We waited a good 5 to 10 minutes to be greeted and have our drink order taken and even then is wasn't our server who attened us but another server who had seen us sitting for a good minute. Everyting came out pretty quickly once our order was in but that initial time being ignored left something to be desired. read more

Great food - higher quality than most restaurants serve. Best cuts of beef and chicken and great shrimp, too. Can you tell we love the fajitas? Crazy about the fish tacos, too. Lotsa fish! We had a wonderful waitress! Erika! Kind, considerate (we had a birthday guest and Erika helped us sing Happy Birthday bringing a dip of ice cream with a candle!) She was a good listener and was very patient. Fun, too! read more

Great food and great service! Love the table side guacamole and salsa. The queso blanco is awesome!! We had the fajitas and queso chicken. Everything was fast and fresh. We will be back for more!! read more

The food was good and the atmosphere was great. It was a little on the pricey side but definitely worth going to. It would be a great place to meet up with friends. read more

Incredible drinks, great food. Tortillas hecho a mano. Friendly staff. One of the best places by far. Only downside is always busy. But high quality everything. read more

Beautiful place! The location is great too. Although the food .. mediocre? Not even close to Mexican.. and in my opinion a bit pricy for the type of food that is served. However the queso blanco is pretty tasty! read more

Really good food. Chips and salsa is different but very tasty. The specialty meats are much better than the basic chicken and ground beef for tacos and such. Two out of the three times I have been there, my order has not been correct, but eventually it does get fixed. Service is overall pretty good. read more

Good ambience decent food. Decently priced. The only Hugh point for me is the location of it.

Love the location of uncle Julio's but I'm not quite sure why people love it so much to have such a wait. The food was good but if you look up the food compared to others here locally it is severely overpriced. Margaritas were terrific I love the margaritas I would have multiple but again you're paying for it so it is severely overpriced as well. The dessert that you get to break apart with chocolate and has fruit in it is a hit for entertainment if you have kids and anything else or you're celebrating anniversaries or birthdays it is a great table dessert to share. read more

It was my first visit here after driving by it since I moved here. I was not disappointed. All of our dishes were delicious. My litmus test is always enchiladas and they were excellent. We also enjoyed the grilled fish tacos. The chips, salsa and loaded queso were good enough to enjoy by themselves. We will be back to try more off of the menu. Service was very good even though it was busy. This is a big place so of course I expect food to take a bit longer to come out of the kitchen. It really wasn't as long of a wait that even I expected. Great job! My next trip I'll be trying the margaritas as well! read more

This place is way way expensive and the food is not that good. Rice was bad. Beans just so so. Cheese enchilada passable. For the price I expect high quality. The patio looks nice but drink prices (except beer) were ridiculous. There are many excellent mexican food places in OKC. This is not one of them. read more

I was so happy when this opened. There chips salsa and tortillas are made in house. I could eat the chips and salsa for a meal. If you get the guacamole get the table made. There shrimp are amazing. Ask for extra Mexican butter read more

I had high hopes for this place. However, please save your time and money. My husband and I walked out because the food was really that bad! First, I would give it zero stars, but I will give one star because the manager was very nice. I think she was used to complaints. The chips were greasy, but edible. Beware the hot sauce is a roasted tomatillo sauce that is borderline burnt. The steak is always cooked rare unless you specify according to the manager. My meat was so rare it was chewy! My husband's chicken fajitas tasted like a cross between teriyaki and straight burned food. The prices are high with zero grade food. Btw, the floor was so greasy that my husband almost fell twice. Good luck! read more

Sorry, but this is the worst restaurant food I've ever eaten in Oklahoma. The spices tasted raw, and if you know anything about cooking, the spices should be added first in a little oil to "bloom" them. read more

Our waiter was extremely friendly. Great margs and fajitas. Very keto and vegan friendly!!

Loved this place! Went here for a date I loved the atmosphere of the place, our waiter did a great job serving us. I had a chocolate piñata thing for dessert it was great! Definitely have to come back. This place is a must. read more

Just got done eating there and I do not recommend my waitress was shacolby and the only thing that wasn't wrong was the dessert but that is only because we did not order any dessert. Me and my family waited 1 hour and 40 min for our guacamole to came out after we got our food so they comped that, my brothers food was never put in and when it came out it was completely wrong and they did not comp that, my food came out and I asked for no beans but there was beans, and it took forever to get refills of our water. Don't ever go here. read more

Food is amazing. The fruit filled chocolate piñata was a huge hit. The staff was courteous and attentive.

This is probably the best mexican food I have eaten in Oklahoma since moving here 4+ years ago. Friendly wait-staff as well. My husband and I had the frozen raspberry margarita, frozen swirl margarita (sangria!), queso/guacamole appetizer, and enchiladas (cheese & onion, chicken, beef). Everything was delicious. Not the best enchiladas I have ever had, but the best I've had in Oklahoma and overall really great quality. I can't wait to go back with a large group to try the chocolate pinata; it looked like a fun time! We were given two different salsas and both had good flavor. The regular salsa was slightly smokey and the habanero salsa was more tomato-flavored; neither was spicy, but still flavorful. Overall a great experience. read more

This place is so overrated. Service was slow and unorganized. Waited 20 mins after the fajitas came out for corn tortillas.

I love it. Plain and simple. Try out the guacamole that they make at your table for a greater than great guac!
