However, he did recommend that we may want to try his wifes amazing homemade carrot cake with the cream cheese icing (which I prefer over an overly sugary one) I am so glad we ordered a slice to go. I ended up having that for breakfast the next morning with coffee and it was out of this world so moist with crunchy nuts on the cream cheese icing. Yum! The cafe is located in downtown Chehalis, which is a cute town. They are completing updates to their 100yr old building. They have an upstairs loft with video games and a dozen tables connected to an artesian market downstairs, think gourmet foods, mead, craft items, fancy bloody mary mix, and they also sell smoked salmon, smoked cheeses in their cooler. We got to seat ourselves, plenty of open clean tables to choose from. We were greeted immediately with a friendly smile. I ordered a small mac and cheese with pulled pork and he got a smokehouse baker. We both got a side house salad. The food arrived quickly and it looked delicious! Then we dug in and it tasted better than it looked. Even though I got the small I still couldn't eat it all, it was a good sized portion. After we paid our bill via QR code, we looked around the shop they had set up inside. Local artists crafts, artisan snacks, cheeses and of course their smoked salmon for sale. I'm kicking myself for not buying something but I am not worried because we are already talking about going back! The staff was so nice. The lady at the front desk went above and beyond. She helped us with our purchase and even exchanged a product we hadn't refrigerated properly.
