Visited Dick's Brewing and decided to share the Snack Tray. For $14.99, little pricy for a snack but it's a solid choice, featuring summer sausage, BBQ pork, Swiss and cheddar cheese, pepperoni, crackers, and sweet hot mustard. Everything was tasty, and it was perfect for snacking while enjoying a couple of beers. As someone who doesn't usually drink beer, I was pleasantly surprised by Dick's Cream Stout. It's a rich, dark brew that's creamy, with strong notes of coffee and dark chocolate. The flavor is deep and smooth, and while a little bitterness, it's more of a coffee bitterness. Even if you're not a beer enthusiast, this one is definitely worth a try. My partner ordered a pale beer, though I honestly don't remember which one--it was overshadowed by an obnoxious customer nearby who fancied himself a comedian. Thankfully, the young waitress handled the situation with grace and professionalism, so props to her for keeping things cool. Despite the distraction, I'm eager to return, especially to try the sandwiches--those being served around us looked amazing. Looking forward to my next visit!

What a great mix of beers! The Creme stout is definitely my favorite but I was pleasantly surprised by the great taste in their Raspberry Triple, which I rarely try. The grapefruit IPA will make you pucker up and smile with delight :) I will say, they could upgrade the seating and food choices because they are a bit blah. But we came for beer and loved them all! The sampler is your best bet because you will be surprised by things you'd never order.

    Dick's Chocolate Cherry Stout! Yummy!

What? I can't believe I haven't already written a review for Dicks! I have been here twice now and I am surprised that a review was not written the first time around. Oh, well. It will be done now! I have slowly gotten to like Dick's more and more. Probably their most popular beer, Dick's Danger Ale can be found all over the state. I have had it a couple of times at places that had it as a guest tap and it was ok. At the time I liked other beers more so I moved on. On my first visit to the taproom here I got their Lava Rock. It was a while ago but I remember that particular beer pretty well. It was a dark, smooth beer and I liked it better than the Danger Ale. Just recently I went back to Dick's when I was hitting other breweries around Kelso and working back up to Centralia and figured to do an even more encompassing review for Dick's that I would stop by their taproom a second time as a refresher and to see what beer they had to offer. There were two beers that I liked even more than the Danger Ale or the Lava Rock this time! They had a great Chocolate Cherry Stout which was perfect! I also had a sample of a Grapefruit IPA which was so very refreshing! That IPA was probably my favorite thus far out of the four beers that I have had from this brewery. Not putting down that Stout at all but the flavor of that IPA was outstanding!

If you are looking for a dark cozy Pub with Dinner - sorry but - Dicks is not it. Photos I uploaded are of an Oct 2008 Brewery Tour Dick provided for Oregon Brew Crew Members. He's justifiably proud of his shiny new production facility, developed in cooperation with the Port of Centralia. It's a pristine, well lit working Brewery with a modest Bottling operation, with space for expansion. Maybe the concrete floor, super high ceiling - and space outside could be modified a bit in the future to welcome Guests. I also want to see Solar Investment here for Water and Power. RA Solar in Portland has don superb Solar Water Heating systems for 2 of the Lubcky Lab Breweries - these could be a model...and i could work with the WA legislature to amend policy to enable this lind of project - the Port could simply do it, in Dick's case, and for other Biz in their District ) DO Buy: bottles of Dicks Dark Cuder, and Dicks Dangerous Ale at a Bottle Shop, The full line-up of Brews, including Stout and Holiday Ales are also be worth tasting...and might suit your Palette for a Buy. Or look for chances to enjoy some of his Brews, as I bet they'll increasingly appear on Tap at many NW venues. The restroom, adjacent to the company office, was civilized, appears to be accessible, and was squeaky clean as the Brewery - which is a nice thing. Side note on area Brewery Pubs... (Other breweries and Ales nearby were - Um, not so clean. The Engine 9 Firehouse in Tacoma has a wonderful, cozy artful setting and beautiful old bar, - but served us - motly Brewers and Beer JUDGES - entire pitchers - of - an entire line-up of - Ales with off-odors and warped flavors. If you can beleive it, after first sips, our group of 40 left beer standing in the sample pitchers we'd pre-purchased. My suggestion: Stick to the Firehouse's Guest taps...or perhaps just try their Barleywine for a few months at least - I thought it clean - & good for it's Style, and seemed fine. Other judges were queasy by then and couldn't give any a fair review. It's the only place all day where we skipped the Brewery tour (didn't want these ambient yeasts on our clothes!), and no one ordered a Pint to follow tastes. We just got out as soon as we could. This Brewer and Brewhouse above was NOT Dick's and not the Olympian or Fish Tale Brewing. Go there, or the one with great food dowmtown oly. Their Ales, Ciders, Porters and Stouts are Clean and worthy.) I hope the Firehouse works the bugs out of their Brew. They do have a large tap list, and full bar, so just avoi dtheir house Ales for awhile, if you care. Many newer breweries have hard time at first, then learn how to get it right. I'll delete this note when I hear from an experienced beer Judge that the Firehouse has worked out. the off flavors in their brews. i truly hope they do - cuz I LIKE the place.)

Purchased a groupon for a beer tour, samples, snacks and two beer mugs. It was such a great price for what we ended up getting. The tour was cool to see how they made their beer and also getting to try all the different types of beer. The snacks were assorted meats and cheese with crackers. Staff was great and friendly. I can't wait to go back to try more!

We were on vacation in Washington on our first day there and were looking for something to do. We went to Dick's and had such a great time. Made us feel at home and such good people. Can't say enough good things about this brewery. Cheers!!!

We came here hoping to find the Dick's Brewery tour, but this is actually a sausage deli and restaurant that serves all of DIck's Beer. When you walk in, the entry is a deli that carries seasoned steaks, meats, sausages, cheese, and of course Dick's beer. The restaurant is adjacent, its a small, casual space. The server was very friendly. They didn't have a kids menu, but we ordered hot dogs on a stick for the kids. I had the Reuben sandwich and my husband had the tri tip special. The meats are amazing. The kids hot dog, it was a little weird for them, I'm not sure what it was, but it tasted like a pastrami hot dog. Very tasty (a little hard to get the kids to try something different at first, but they liked it). Everything else was really tasty. The clientele - I was expecting a more young vibe, but when we walked in there, everyone sitting down at tables was over 65, at least. But it is a very clean restaurant with great service and reasonable prices. I would definitely come back here again, and we're hoping to do the Brewery tour one of these days.

Walking in we were greeted with friendliness and seated in an area that we liked. The hostess steered us to a talk that wasn't cold - since that was the one thing I mentioned. I hate being cold. :) I was lucky enough to order their cheeseburger from the happy hour menu. I think it is the same as the one on the regular menu. I had expected just a burger and was pleased to see it came with fries. Our server was prompt, helpful, and nice... the whole team was. The burger was a smash tyupe burger and I found the texture of the meat pleasing and tasty, just a bit of crust as some many people love on a smash burger. The condiments we fresh enough and had good flavor. When I say fresh enough I mean that the lettuce and onions didn't have a crunch to them, but they weren't mushy. Overall one of the better burgers so far. This venue would be good for anything from a family meal to some afterwork laughs or even a romantic dinner. The only reason it didn't get the fifth star is because of the condiments not being nice and crunchy. Solid place to eat and I would recommend.

Good Buzz also does not have a tasting room of it's own. However if you go to the website for Good Buzz Brewing you will find what locations you can purchase their mead from around the Centralia and Chehalis areas. I bought my bottle at the produce section and corner at Jeremy's Farm to Table. I saw about three or four different types of mead but didn't want anything too sweet. I saw berry flavored options but had concerns that might make it sweeter than I'd prefer so I got the Bee Hoppy mead. Mead is often sweet enough as it is due to the honey so that is the reason I went with a hopped option as well. The mead was great! I usually love trying different meaderies as they aren't as numerous as breweries or even cideries so when I get to try one it's a great change of pace. The hops and the mead played very well off of each other with the Bee Hoppy and was refreshing as well. Great first experience with Good Buzz and perhaps since they handled the flavor balance so well it may motivate me to try some of those berry options at another time.

I've been visiting here a dozen times a year for four decades. There are a few eateries here. Many seem to come and go although there are a couple that have survived the test of time. RM38 is a newcomer... used to be in a small building with VERY limited hours. I gather their main biz was brewing craft beer for a very small clientele of businesses and the "saloon" was mostly a side hustle to help pay the rent. So I see they moved into new digs down at the marina. I won't take off any stars for the following since this seems to be their new business model: Offering uber-expensive, skimpy portions of not especially tasty food targeted to yuppies who have more money than brains. Suffice to say that you won't see many Bikers hanging out here. The good: Their patio has a nice river view and a pleasant breeze. Sitting out there enjoying a cold one on a hot Summer day is very pleasant. And during the Fall too so long as it's not raining. People complain about the lack of parking which is not an issue when you show up on a motorcycle. But there are LOTS of places to park although you may have to walk a few yards... you poor darlings. Staff is less than amazing but they are always courteous towards me. I suppose I am no more their dream customer than they are my dream hangout. But Bikers tend to be very generous tippers so they might want to keep that in mind. There's one long-established watering hole in Cathlamet but it's a dark, indoor venue. I like it there and it's more of a dive bar with very good food. The thing about Cathlamet is that if you are just an occasional visitor you have many options of where to stop for a meal and/or drink and never get bored. There's also a few good places at the other end of the ferry ride in Westport, Oregon. Hard to say how long RM38 will stay in business. I'm actually surprised that they lasted in their original location for so long considering that they were only open for a few hours during the weekend. It would be great if they quit pretending to be an upscale eatery and instead focused on providing a good value, tasty, filling meal for the money. Again, no minus stars for that but until new management comes along and makes some changes it will just be a pint or two for me and i'm on my way. Of course as always YMMV.
