These wings are smoked and then fried before being tossed in the flavor of your choosing. They are huge and always perfected cooked. I absolutely love the atmosphere and old school feel of JDs. A small bar and massive dining hall with lots of fun art on the walls. The place always smells fantastic from the smoker too. Service is alway the best. All of the servers are super friendly and quick with taking orders and getting drinks. Aside from the wings we have tackled all the apps, sides, and some of the bbq. So far we have been impressed with just about everything. The hush puppies, fried jalapeno, and collard greens are among my favorites. Honestly one of my favorite spots! Came into the Acworth restaurant and first thing I saw was a 100 A health score. Love that. Counter was neat and clean and the young person on the line greeted me from the line. That was sweet. The young person who cashiered was friendly and efficient. Never asked if I was eating in or taking but hey, perfection is overrated right? So I was packed to go but I was indeed eating in. I get it that way anyway because I can never finish all of my food. I got the two meat platter with an extra side and a drink for 23 bucks plus tip. So ribs, brisket. Potato salad, greens and Mac and cheese w Texas toast. Dining room- spotless. Bathroom- spotless I was checked on by a super nice young person named Ian while I ate. Really nice young human. After eating another youngin came over to ask for a Google review. Nope- I'm a Yelper. lol. I need to mention- the sweet tea and lemonade here make thee perfect Arnold Palmer. No dessert for me again. Too stuffed. One day I'll get to try the banana pudding. Deep sigh.

This was our first time visiting City Barbecue in Woodstock, GA. It's a good location with a…read moreconvenient drive-thru option and a fairly large dining room and patio. Nick helped take our order. He was super friendly and very helpful. He gave good recommendations. When we asked about the potato salad side, he and most of the staff agreed that it was their favorite. I decided to try the two meats with two sides in lieu of the City Meal because I have never been a fan of Pepsi products. Both the pulled pork and the beef briskets tasted fresh, flavorful and tender. The meat is served without sauce, but they have a variety of choices, including Original, Sweet City, and Brush Fire. We enjoyed the Original sauce, but the Sweet City was our favorite. I did end up ordering the potato salad side based upon the staff recommendation. It tasted fresh and flavorful. I also order the mac & cheese side with one piece of Texas Toast. The mac & cheese tasted a little dry, not very creamy or cheesy. I always order mac & cheese with my barbecue so this is the primary factor behind giving four instead of five stars. We didn't try dessert this time, but I would definitely consider ordering the Banana Pudding the next time we visit. Cheers

Exterior Located in a business park - at the corner of Old…read more41 Hwy and Blue Springs Rd. My navigation took me on a super convoluted route, so if you know where North Cobb Highschool is, they're located across the street from N Cobb Highschool's gym. When exiting to leave, there's no left turns so be forewarned, you might have to do some finagling to leave via Blue Springs. I may have missed it because I was so focused on nav, but I think the business park should get better signage (both at the street and once you turn in). If not for the Too Good To Go app, I would never have realized this business existed. They also opted to use one of those handwriting fonts for their logo so even the storefront signage can be a little hard to read from a distance - even with my 20/20 vision. Lol. Interior Clean, bright, well lit. Customer Service Five plus stars. The owner, Clay, reminded me of home (my small town hometown). Super friendly. Super welcoming. Super jovial. While I waited, I had the opportunity to chat with his lovely daughter, Breanna (sp?) and she was an absolute sweetheart. Price / Value They appear to have lots of affordably priced meals. The QRC on the postcard launches their website, versus a pdf of a traditional menu, so you kinda have to scroll through as though you're trying to place an order. I was lured in by some tasty looking pork chops and salmon in their Google photos. And the macaroni & cheese looked like the the kind I love. (This type of mac n cheese used to be called 'Southern custard style' but now it seems to be called Béchamel style or Greek Béchamel since a true Béchamel supposedly has no eggs. Whatever its called, I prefer it over the runny Velveeta style mac n cheese that has gotten so popular.) Food I mentioned the Too Good To Go App earlier. That's what brought me here. Unfortunately, I have a shellfish allergy and my 'Surprise Bag' was a shrimp dinner. I won't go into details here because I don't want others to give Mr. Clay a hard time if they find themselves in the same situation - but suffice it to say, Mr. Clay did his absolute best to not let me leave hungry. I did, ultimately, try some of the yellow rice and steamed veggies. I can safely say that the yellow rice is actual turmeric rice. Overall Even though I didn't get a chance to eat an actual meal, I wanted to make sure I posted a review with the hopes of providing breadcrumbs for others to find this hidden gem. If I had to list a negative, I'd just say that I think they'd benefit from an actual 'formal' menu. I'm 'old enough' that I find it somewhat frustrating to have to visit a 'web store' and click through as though I'm trying to place an order - versus looking at a menu with items grouped (ie meals, sandwiches, salads, sides, etc) and good descriptions. Several items show 'out of stock' or 'low stock.' I do like that they seem to have gone out of their way to post photos of food and provided descriptions in the 'featured menu items' section. I'll definitely be back to try the salmon, whiting, collard greens and macaroni & cheese.

You can do either unlimited meat with the grill at your table, or you can choose the unlimited Hot Pot menu with broths, noodles, and more meat! We did the classic Korean BBQ option with unlimited meats. They kept us well informed on how their dining experience works, and they went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed.
