The branch manager, Jay, and the assistant manager Eric and their team are courteous, professional, and helpful. I appreciate them taking such good care of my financials. I am the DPOA for my parents. My dad died in a house fire recently and my mom developed a brain injury due to smoke exposure and high CO2 levels. She is currently diagnosed with dementia and psychosis. My siblings and I have had to manage all financial issues for her. On 7/3/2024, I attempted to transfer money from her account so that I could pay the rent due on her mobile home spot, where the remains of their burnt home sit. That transfer was administratively canceled. Neither I nor my mother received any communication from Uncle about the action to cancel our transaction. I contacted Uncle on 7/5/2024 to find out why they took this action. The agent's response was to disable all online access to the account. I went into the branch in person on 7/6/2024. I brought all of the required documentation. The bank's assistant manager, Eric Lapuz, photocopied everything and told me it would be a "Monday or Tuesday" before I would hear back from them. I had not heard back from anyone by then, so I called to follow up. I was told that our documents were being reviewed, and he could not tell me when I should expect to receive a response. I advocated for my concerns to be elevated to an account manager, Stephanie, who promised to prioritize my documents. She later informed me that my POA was accepted and that I would have access to my mother's account. However, the fact that I had attempted to transfer funds from her account to mine to cover the checks I have had to write on her behalf "raised red flags." She stated that the CU was not attempting to "police" the enactment of my mother's POA document. However, that is precisely what they are doing. They have chosen to keep the online access to her account "disabled." My attempts at resolution are currently being ignored. This bank has overstepped its right to control access to my mother's funds, and its employees have decided they have a moral obligation to restrict our access to my mother's account. There has been an outpouring of love and support for my parents from the community. This bank's employees, however, have taken it upon themselves to obstruct our ability to care for our mother and to help her to maintain her finances. read more

It's a pleasure to do banking here. I am a member of another credit union aside from this credit union. However, I'm learning that There's something truly special about this particular branch. The staff is always attentive. There's never any line. They don't try to cross sell me too many items so I am in and out of this branch so quickly. The branch has a nice feel to it and nicely designed. i love it so much better the old location, which was tucked in the shopping center. They have a lot to offer. Coming here makes banking easy for me because I can also do my other credit union transaction from inside the branch. Today we were helped by Jess. I have been banking here for 10 years... Recently I have been working with this credit union to keep up with my payments. I was told that as long as I make a payment before March 1st, 2020 that I would not have to worry about my credit being damaged or reported 31 days late. I called Saturday February 29th 2020, However because their "Late Payment" department was closed..... They REFUSED to take a payment, and now my credit was dinged and has since dropped 40 pts. How is it my fault your credit union cannot process payments on a saturday? And why does payment require 2 different departments? When I called again to resolve the issue they tell me its my fault because it was already late, and I even spoke their collection manager but was told that they are "Unwilling" to fix it. They dont keep their promises, and 90% of the time I call them they transfer me to a department that goes straight to voicemail. Even when I express concern and my experience with their transfers.... All they had to do was tell me to make a payment before the weekend..... because their collection department is closed.... or just fix what already happened. They neglected to do either.. read more

We first joined this Credit Union about 20 years ago. At the time, it had an office in Dublin. But then, that office was robbed! I don't blame them for shutting down that office, but it's not nearly as convenient for us now. We have had a very good experience with Uncle Credit Union. In all of the years dealing with them, I think they have only made one or two mistakes, and they fix that right away. I've always found the staff to be helpful and courteous. read more

She handed me her business card and spoke with such sureness. I was there to get clarification about a detail on my auto loan, and Annie made this strong, helpful impression on me. That was a month or more ago. Yesterday Annie came through, patiently working with me to get me to this turning point to save money, and providing a high level of customer service while enabling me to get approval on a loan that spares me paying any more high interest. As a kid, I started saving with a credit union; they exist for members not shareholders like at banks. As bad as big banks, mate even worse. I just opened a second account to use as a spending account and logged in to find Uncle Credit Union is charging me .25 every time I use my card in a store. UPDATE After this rating Uncle Called me and let me know they auto reversed all the charges and told me in the future they will be removing the .25 fee for using your debt card. read more

I was trying to help my daughter open an account and get a auto loan. After patiently waiting for 30 minutes I decided to ask the Latino loan officer/act services person that I was told was the only one who could help me is it gonna be a while we have waited over 30 minutes. She responds yes it'll be a while with a no care attitude. She was with a customer however not once was there any acknowledgement that they'll help us as soon as able. She just didn't care. That's very crappy service. So I went to Patelco credit union. Even though I waited there like about 15 minutes. They were super attentive and my daughter and I got the task done!! I have been a member of UNCLE Credit Union for almost 25 years, but I will find another financial institution as soon as I am able. Over the past two years, I have had nothing but trouble (i.e., automatic payments set-up not being paid, and bill pays that were cancelled being paid out). Not to mention fees that I was charged after being assured I would not be. The last two incidents, regarding automatic withdraw to pay my credit card by UNCLE and through UNCLE, and the bill pay error, were unexplainable by the institution. I found myself spending an inordinate amount of my life fixing them. I'm not even certain they have been resolved. All I know is that I was informed in order to handle the bill pay issue, my debit card needed to be closed leaving me with no way to buy groceries unless I physically went into a branch and withdrew cash. There are no branches close to me. I am hungry, but I must wait for the new card to arrive. I must also go to each of the accounts attached to my old debit card and get to them my new card information before they try and use it for payment. Again, my life and time are being disrupted by this place. Finally, adding insult to injury, the people on the other end of the phone (I think they call themselves "customer service"?) their first response is somehow, someway this is all your fault. Well, it was not. I did everything I was supposed to do, and UNCLE failed to transfer my payment to the credit card company THEY subscribe to, and their bill pay service failed to stop a transaction that I had cancelled over a month ago. Most importantly, UNCLE failed to notify me regarding the failure to pay my credit card. I found out by accident when I called to complain about the bill pay issue and the automated voice message system told me my credit card payment was delinquent. I was informed, because I had caught the error within the "grace period", my credit will not be affected. A) there should have been NO "error", and B) I should have been informed IMMEDIATELY that the payment had not gone through. Whether or not my credit is affected remains to be seen. If it is, it will be one more dispute I have to have with UNCLE. I am not just angry about these financial follies, I am incensed. Get it together UNCLE! And, btw, get Zelle. read more

We were getting a small loan for a private sale car and this process should've been a simple transaction. We showed up at 930am with the seller of the car and didn't end up leaving until 230pm because the information wasn't verified on the form by the clerk the first time. We ended up being passed through to multiple people and then finally to corporate and a regional manager to handle what should have been pretty straightforward and simple. We have been Uncle members for 20 something years and our experiences with the Livermore and Tracy branch have always been exceptional. I lost my wallet, and had to get a card replaced. Trish helped me a lot and answered a lot of questions for me!! Throughout the process she was very friendly and I felt welcomed. Teresa H. helped us every step of the way. She was knowledgable, pleasant and professional. Unfortunately when we had to sign the papers Teresa wasn't there and we had to deal with another customer service representative. She wasn't as nice as everyone else there. The bank/branches are great. Their rewards program they use needs some work. The 3rd party they use to book travel are terrible if you have to cancel a booking. I have been on the phone 1 hour and 20 minutes so far. The first 30 minutes was just to get in the queue to speak with an agent. The rest of the time I am waiting for the agent to confirm whether or not there will be a cancellation fee (this was not the case the last time I did this exercise; the agent doesn't know what she is doing). I am literally aging as I listen to the hold music looping. Every 15 minutes or so, the agent comes back on the phone and tells me she is waiting for the "other" department to confirm before she can cancel my booking (she is probably listening to the same music). Uncle Credit Union is fine; their 3rd Party Rewards Program partner sucks. Just make sure you do not have to make any changes (i.e. cancellations) after you book... read more

I recently worked with Uncle Credit Union for an Equity Line of Credit. The Representative was Trinna Sycip. Trinna went absolutely above and beyond in regards to customer service. My application was taken in mere minutes and the details and terms of the transaction were explained in detail. Any questions that were asked by me were promptly answered and throughout the process, if I were to call Trinna with any questions, she always called back very quickly (within minutes) if she was not able to answer the call. The entire process took 14 days for the monies to be placed in my account. I wanted to point out the professionalism of Uncle Credit Union. The processing team was very professional, detailed and to the point, but also very lenient in regards to documentation. There were a couple of instances where the underwriter was very open minded about the process. Finally, the remaining stages of the transaction were dealt with by Sarah DeFrenchi, the Transaction Closer/Funder. Her professionalism and creativeness with the end process was very impressive. Initially, upon closing, Sarah required me to payoff and close some of my revolving accounts. But, because of a long weekend and Holidays coming, she allowed me to pay them off myself immediately rather than Uncle CU sending check that could take days!
