Most of their system is "down". So I went in to Danville branch and Sean Cunningham advised me to use their Patelco issued debit card to pay bills. I did that and Patelco did not honor the payments. It was rejected. So now another avenue to use my Patelco account is closed and useless. I have outstanding checks that may not clear, and their suggestion to use the debit card as an alternative option does not work. This Patelco nightmare is never ending read more

I am very upset with Patelco's policy of making you wait for a week until your deposit is recognized. You may have a current balance of $500 but your "available" balance is $0 while the CU waits to make sure the money is there. Why am I being penalized for third parties whose checks might not make good??? NOT ONCE HAVE ANY OF MY DEPOSITS FAILED BY A THIRD PARTY. I have been with Patelco for over 10 years. The Danville Branch has gone down in quality tremendously. A week ago, I tried to deposit some money. After waiting a while and before my turn, the computer system went down. The next time I tried to deposit money, I was asked personal questions that no other bank asks me. Today when I wanted deposit money, the money machine wasn't working and the clerk was busy typing on the computer instead of dealing with the matter at hand. It took at least 15 minutes to make a deposit. My husband who was waiting in the car became concerned and came into the Branch to see what was taking so long. S.L.O.W. service. read more

Wanting to inquire on a loan, I was immediately greeted. The loan officer was out for lunch and so I had no choice but to kill time in their waiting area where they had complementary coffee. I must say that the coffee wasn't bad at all. After about 10 minutes or so the loan officer returned from lunch and we got the ball moving. The process was simple and he practically took care of everything. There was no need for me to fill out forms. He practically punch in the data for me while I answered a few questions. The overall service was excellent. Be warned that the parking area can be problem. I can see large vehicles having no room at all as the parking spaces are narrow. The parking lot itself isn't big at all either where I had a difficult time exiting the lot. I have a very compact car in case you are wondering. Do not refinance your home or get a new home loan through Patelco. The staff Patricia and Stacey Morales are nice but extremely slow to process your loan. My refinance took over 3 months to complete. Stacey was very disorganized and made me resend documents several times. She would not return calls for over a week, sometimes two. They promised my loan would be completed by a certain date, twice, but the date came and went. The whole process was extremely frustrating and slow. I called twice to complain to a manager but nothing seemed to move the process along. One manager I spoke to, Robert Johnson asked me to resubmit new bank statements because the original ones had expired. Once received, the loan should have be approved. It still took several weeks before my loan was approved. The CD (closure disclosure) was incorrect twice. Patelco did not add an escrow account which I had requested several times prior with both Patricia and Stacey. To my surprise it was still missing from the CD when the notary came to my house to sign paperwork. I had to resign 18 pages once Patelco corrected the mistake. I assume my loan has been finalized. I am not certain because no one called to let me know it's completed. No thank you for your business... Nothing. I wish I had not completed my refi with Patelco because now I am stuck with them for 15 years. The level of service was very poor and extremely slow. This was just a short summary of the issues I faced while working with Patelco. Never again. read more

Review for Ms. Patricia Vallejo, Patelco It has been a pleasure working with Ms. Patricia Vallejo, a second time, again. We worked with her in 2018 while purchasing our first home in the Bay Area.  It was quite difficult for us to understand and cope with an extremely dynamic and expensive real estate market here. We moved from upstate NY and we realized that the Bay Area was a completely different planet compared to the rest of the country. Our past experience working with a Credit Union bank in NY guided us to looking for a similar association here as well. We are very grateful to have found Patricia through Patelco. She has been so amazing throughout the process. Her understanding of the market, banking and home mortgage solutions is excellent. She is very sharp in understanding and managing financial risk management. Since we did not have a bay area job and did not have the support of RSUs at the time in 2018 or  a typical bay area pay package, it was very difficult for us to buy a house. Initially, all the bankers we spoke with did not have the patience to work with us and provide solutions to us. But Patricia was the only one banker who followed up throughout our journey in 2018 and provided us with two different mortgage options. She kept following up with us and gave us moral support and her guidance through her experience throughout till the end of the process. She also came and sat with us when we were signing our closing and kept sharing with us the pros and cons of everything (insurance option, financial and legal commitments etc). We were completely overwhelmed and she understood our state of mind and that's when and how she chose to hand hold us through the entire process. Because of her, we could buy a beautiful and  peaceful town home in a much coveted area in beautiful Danville, East Bay. In 2022, when we felt we were in a more favourable position to buy a single family home and wanted to prepare ourselves for that, we decided to call ONLY Patricia and no one else to help us with our banking requirements. She once again went above and beyond to help us understand what was needed from us to be strong contenders in this market. As the market was getting more expensive, we decided to move fast and did not want to take a typical bridge loan to keep our offer non-contingent and acceptable to sellers. And we made up our mind not to sell our home before an offer to buy was accepted first. This choice made it next to impossible for our offer to get accepted. Patricia understood our predicament and offered to work out other options for us. She offered us multiple options to make our offer stronger. The process this time was more complicated as we wanted to have a good downpayment from the sale of our town house and didn't want to take a bridge loan. She helped with options for a loan option for larger down payment and better interest rate, and another option for down payment, HELOC and a main loan along with the loan for the current home before the sale to be non contingent for the purchase of the other house. Having the second option helped us in getting our offer accepted for purchase and allowed us to move forward with the sale of our home. She checked in with us frequently to ensure we got all the documents required for the complex process of having two loans simultaneously and helped us to move to the previously discussed loan once we were able to get an offer for the sale of our townhouse. Her patience to work with our constantly changing needs made us feel reassured and safe at all times. Her guidance and compassion were instrumental in helping us navigate the emotionally challenging process of buying a home and purchasing another simultaneously. Helping people with kindness in her heart is Patricia's specialty. This is very unique and we are fortunate to have worked with her to purchase our dream single family home. After having visted the Danville branch many times as I live in Alamo, I can say I have never felt welcome or wanted there. The customer service is very poor. I had to pry help out of one MSR in training since she thought me asking to speak with a manager was odd so she pointed me to her office. Not even close to well mannered. Bank robbers probably get better treatment there. They need a few workshops in customer service to say the least. I LOVE PATELCO! after having terrible experiences with BofA and wells Fargo, I came to Patelco for a student CD promotion, where they gave 8% back on $1000. When I told the teller at wells fargo that I would be closing my account for this CD at Patelco, she literally laughed at me and said no way that's possible. Um, what? That was after being told by a teller that I looked like a watermelon because I was wearing pink and green. Really? Anyways, everyone at Patelco is friendly, warm, helpful, and personal. They know their customers by name and go above and beyond to answer questions and help you. AND they have great hours, for a bank anyway. Open til 6 on weekdays and 3 on Saturday, I believe.
