We had a wonderful and painless experience working with our loan agent, Yvonne Phung! She is very knowledgeable, professional and responsive, taking time to explain our options and answer our questions clearly. We truly appreciate her patience, attention to detail, and support throughout the loan process. It made everything feel much less stressful! I highly recommended Yvonne to anyone looking for a reliable and dedicated loan professional! read more

Patricia Vallejo did a great job helping us secure the refinance loan. She went above and beyond in ensuring that all our questions were answered to the dot. I have been with Patelco for over 35 years, and the Danville branch personnel is absolutely fabulous! The level of professionalism and client/member care keeps me loyal even through the system hack they experienced. Patelco staff at this branch work to make things right, they care about their members and provide personalized assistance. I recently ran across a difficult issue relating to fund transfer (no fault of Patelco) to a scammer, and Sean Cunningham, the Asst. Branch Manager (you guys need to include his photo on your Danville webpage!) helped me through the dispute filing process. For the entire time Sean has been at this branch, he's helpfully advised me where needed. He deserves recognition, as does the branch managers that have come through. This branch and its staff are exceptional in providing excellent customer service. Well done! read more

Most of their system is "down". So I went in to Danville branch and Sean Cunningham advised me to use their Patelco issued debit card to pay bills. I did that and Patelco did not honor the payments. It was rejected. So now another avenue to use my Patelco account is closed and useless. I have outstanding checks that may not clear, and their suggestion to use the debit card as an alternative option does not work. This Patelco nightmare is never ending read more

I am very upset with Patelco's policy of making you wait for a week until your deposit is recognized. You may have a current balance of $500 but your "available" balance is $0 while the CU waits to make sure the money is there. Why am I being penalized for third parties whose checks might not make good??? NOT ONCE HAVE ANY OF MY DEPOSITS FAILED BY A THIRD PARTY. I have no history of that so again, WHY AM I BEING PENALIZED??? Shame on you, Patelco. I will be on the hunt for a new financial institution. read more

It's my first time buying a house and loan officer Patricia Vallejo is helping me. She is a God sent, very professional and courteous in her work. Very knowledgeable, friendly and patiently explaining the process and which forms I should fill in details. And very responsive, even after hours she will answer your call and call you back. I'm very grateful that I got her helping me throughout the entire lending process. I hope Patelco recognizes her talent as a great asset to the company and appropriately appreciate her value. Patelco keeps charging late fees but can't explain why. The staff at the window are all excellent. Still waiting on a call back from mgmt on an explanation. Sunita at patelco was so kind and professional i have to give her a review. I was very impressed with her service.

This is a review for Patricia Vallejo, our extremely knowledgeable loan officer as well as simply a lovely person. She helped my wife Jessie and I, two first-time home buyers, through every step of the home financing process. She talked through and clarified our mortgage options, and she ran the numbers for us for all of our offers. Again and again, she showed us patience and generosity. She was always very responsive and made the extra effort to make sure we got what we needed on often tight timelines, including getting our paperwork in order for closing even as we made last-minute changes. We recommend Patricia highly! Thank you, Patricia! We are grateful for your help! read more

Wanting to inquire on a loan, I was immediately greeted. The loan officer was out for lunch and so I had no choice but to kill time in their waiting area where they had complementary coffee. I must say that the coffee wasn't bad at all. After about 10 minutes or so the loan officer returned from lunch and we got the ball moving. The process was simple and he practically took care of everything. There was no need for me to fill out forms. He practically punch in the data for me while I answered a few questions. The overall service was excellent. Be warned that the parking area can be problem. I can see large vehicles having no room at all as the parking spaces are narrow. The parking lot itself isn't big at all either where I had a difficult time exiting the lot. I have a very compact car in case you are wondering. Other than the parking issues, it's a good Patelco branch. read more

I have been with Patelco for over 10 years. The Danville Branch has gone down in quality tremendously. A week ago, I tried to deposit some money. After waiting a while and before my turn, the computer system went down. The next time I tried to deposit money, I was asked personal questions that no other bank asks me. Today when I wanted deposit money, the money machine wasn't working and the clerk was busy typing on the computer instead of dealing with the matter at hand. It took at least 15 minutes to make a deposit. My husband who was waiting in the car became concerned and came into the Branch to see what was taking so long. S.L.O.W. service. read more

Friendly, fast and efficient. Have been a member for many years. Would not bank anywhere else.

Do not refinance your home or get a new home loan through Patelco. The staff Patricia and Stacey Morales are nice but extremely slow to process your loan. My refinance took over 3 months to complete. Stacey was very disorganized and made me resend documents several times. She would not return calls for over a week, sometimes two. They promised my loan would be completed by a certain date, twice, but the date came and went. The whole process was extremely frustrating and slow. I called twice to complain to a manager but nothing seemed to move the process along. One manager I spoke to, Robert Johnson asked me to resubmit new bank statements because the original ones had expired. Once received, the loan should have be approved. It still took several weeks before my loan was approved. The CD (closure disclosure) was incorrect twice. Patelco did not add an escrow account which I had requested several times prior with both Patricia and Stacey. To my surprise it was still missing from the CD when the notary came to my house to sign paperwork. I had to resign 18 pages once Patelco corrected the mistake. I assume my loan has been finalized. I am not certain because no one called to let me know it's completed. No thank you for your business... Nothing. I wish I had not completed my refi with Patelco because now I am stuck with them for 15 years. The level of service was very poor and extremely slow. This was just a short summary of the issues I faced while working with Patelco. Never again. read more

I needed to rearrange funds and get cash to pay people helping me through the Covid19 matter. Even though I live 45 minutes from this branch, it was the closest one that could help me. I have to take a moment to Thank the staff at Danville Patelco! Kim, Silvia, and Maria You are AMAZING! I recently had to close my account due to a move out of state, and on several occasions I was able to call any of them and get help with what I needed. So helpful, and much appreciated. There is not a bank around that I can say would have been so friendly, efficient, and helpful for someone who is no longer a member. I would highly recommend this bank to anyone looking for awesome service and a feeling that you truly matter to them. I am sad that you don't have branches in my new home state. Thank You Again! I will miss the great service. read more

Review for Ms. Patricia Vallejo, Patelco It has been a pleasure working with Ms. Patricia Vallejo, a second time, again. We worked with her in 2018 while purchasing our first home in the Bay Area.  It was quite difficult for us to understand and cope with an extremely dynamic and expensive real estate market here. We moved from upstate NY and we realized that the Bay Area was a completely different planet compared to the rest of the country. Our past experience working with a Credit Union bank in NY guided us to looking for a similar association here as well. We are very grateful to have found Patricia through Patelco. She has been so amazing throughout the process. Her understanding of the market, banking and home mortgage solutions is excellent. She is very sharp in understanding and managing financial risk management. Since we did not have a bay area job and did not have the support of RSUs at the time in 2018 or  a typical bay area pay package, it was very difficult for us to buy a house. Initially, all the bankers we spoke with did not have the patience to work with us and provide solutions to us. But Patricia was the only one banker who followed up throughout our journey in 2018 and provided us with two different mortgage options. She kept following up with us and gave us moral support and her guidance through her experience throughout till the end of the process. She also came and sat with us when we were signing our closing and kept sharing with us the pros and cons of everything (insurance option, financial and legal commitments etc). We were completely overwhelmed and she understood our state of mind and that's when and how she chose to hand hold us through the entire process. Because of her, we could buy a beautiful and  peaceful town home in a much coveted area in beautiful Danville, East Bay. In 2022, when we felt we were in a more favourable position to buy a single family home and wanted to prepare ourselves for that, we decided to call ONLY Patricia and no one else to help us with our banking requirements. She once again went above and beyond to help us understand what was needed from us to be strong contenders in this market. As the market was getting more expensive, we decided to move fast and did not want to take a typical bridge loan to keep our offer non-contingent and acceptable to sellers. And we made up our mind not to sell our home before an offer to buy was accepted first. This choice made it next to impossible for our offer to get accepted. Patricia understood our predicament and offered to work out other options for us. She offered us multiple options to make our offer stronger. The process this time was more complicated as we wanted to have a good downpayment from the sale of our town house and didn't want to take a bridge loan. She helped with options for a loan option for larger down payment and better interest rate, and another option for down payment, HELOC and a main loan along with the loan for the current home before the sale to be non contingent for the purchase of the other house. Having the second option helped us in getting our offer accepted for purchase and allowed us to move forward with the sale of our home. She checked in with us frequently to ensure we got all the documents required for the complex process of having two loans simultaneously and helped us to move to the previously discussed loan once we were able to get an offer for the sale of our townhouse. Her patience to work with our constantly changing needs made us feel reassured and safe at all times. Her guidance and compassion were instrumental in helping us navigate the emotionally challenging process of buying a home and purchasing another simultaneously. Helping people with kindness in her heart is Patricia's specialty. This is very unique and we are fortunate to have worked with her to purchase our dream single family home. Her understanding of the Bay Area housing market, the dynamics of the changing loan options, understanding and managing financial risk for each buyer with their unique criteria and limitations while accomplishing all this with empathy for the buyer is a very unique skill and makes her invaluable in earning the trust of many buyers. She is truly an asset for Patelco. If we were to use just one word to describe Patricia, it would be, '' Excelsior'' She truly represents this word in her personal attitude and professional excellence. We are sincerely grateful to have been associated with her and would confidently recommend her to any potential home buyer looking for smart, reliable, efficient mortgage solutions and following stellar support. read more

I am leaving this review for Patricia Vallejo, our loan officer for our first home purchase. Patricia was so knowledgeable and a joy to work with. From our very first day sitting in the branch office all the way until we closed last week she kept us informed of deadlines and required information. In addition to this, she was so patient with all of my questions. As a first-time home buyer, I had many questions about the process and she had answers for all of them. She was incredibly responsive and always returned texts or phone calls within hours. If you need a loan, go to Patricia at the Danville Patelco office!! read more

My wife and I have been trying to buy our first home and had started to use a few lenders but we did not really like how things were going. On a whim, I went to my local Castro Valley Patelco branch and asked for a recommendation and they suggested Patricia Vallejo. We reached out to her and it was a great decision. From the initial contact to the closing process, Patricia was there every step of the way, answering phone calls and emails, sometimes after business hours. She would even reach out in case the under writers needed something or just to give us an update. We would even ask her general home loan questions and she would go into detail, putting our nervousness at ease. Patricia is as good as it gets, and is an invaluable asset to Patelco. We are finally home owners and she had a major role in that. We can't thank her enough for all she has done. She encompasses the definition of "5 star member service". read more

We were first time home buyers. Our real estate agent recommended Patelco Credit Union as being a good fit for us to obtain a mortgage. I called Patelco and found Patricia Vallejo through the Patelco customer care. I am glad that the customer care agent provide Patricia's information as she was wonderful to work with. Patricia is very helpful, reachable, and knowledgeable. Patricia explained really well our loan options, loan costs, and loan requirements. Patricia was a tremendous help to us in obtaining a low interest rate as compare to other financial institutions. She responded quickly to our questions and requests during and after closing the escrow, and pushed her team to finish the loan on the scheduled date. She made the loan process very smooth and there were no surprises. I highly recommend Patricia! read more

After having visted the Danville branch many times as I live in Alamo, I can say I have never felt welcome or wanted there. The customer service is very poor. I had to pry help out of one MSR in training since she thought me asking to speak with a manager was odd so she pointed me to her office. Not even close to well mannered. Bank robbers probably get better treatment there. They need a few workshops in customer service to say the least. I have found Lafayette and Walnut Creek to be very helpful and its worth the drive. read more

Exceptional and prompt service, very knowledgeable, package (no fees on accounts), great interest rate on money market account!
