This store ended up not being right for me, but I was being open minded on styles so this review is based upon the service and overall review of the store. We were rushed right in at my appointment time and left to search the dresses on our own. There were 4 changing areas with seats and each faced eachother, so it was very open and had no privacy. The consultant was super nice, but seemed to move me along like she was extremely bored. I thought one of the dresses was a gray ombré and got excited....but it was just dirt on the train. The consultant didn't explain who the designer was, or anything about the fabric. She made no effort to get to know me and before I even had the first dress on, I knew it wasn't where I wanted to buy my dress. read more

I'll preface by saying I came to this boutique right after an appointment at Blue Bridal Boutique on S Congress where I was treated exceptionally well. The collection at Unbridled was decent, however the condition of many of the dresses was not so great. I did not want to try many of them on because you could tell they had not been washed in quite some time. The white fabric, particularly around the neck, was brown on many of the dresses. The service I received was okay. I appreciate when the stylists actually take interest in me and recommend and pull other dresses that I might not have thought of while initially going around the store and pulling dresses to try on, but they did not seem to care to do that. All together, I did not have a terrible experience at Unbridled, however many things definitely could have been better. I will not be purchasing my wedding dress here. read more

A really fantastic shopping experience! I knew I wanted a different dress, and they had a great selection from more traditional to unique styles. My main issue with dress shops is they pressure you, and I did not feel that at all at this shop. And when I said I wanted a unique dress, they didn't just bring me a traditional dress in an off-white color. Making an appointment at Unbridaled was super easy and overall we enjoyed our experience. My family was in town and they came with me. Once I chose my dress the woman helping me asked what size I wanted and I said the one I tried on. She said "unless you're committed to losing weight, you need to go up because the dress is stretched out". I tried on a size 8. I purchased a size 10, as that's what she said I was measuring. I felt like her comment was a little condescending and body shaming. After picking up my dress and taking it to a lady for alterations, the lady said the dress was WAY too big (like 2 sizes too big) and ultimately I spent $414 on alterations. I had a 100 percent experience at unbridaled. This store carries dresses that are super unique and beautiful. The service was absolutely amazing! My girl was Amber and she was so so sweet and definitely made my time there amazing. She was so good about letting me try on a dress and stepping back so that I could asses myself and how I felt before opening the curtain to my friends and family, which was something so different from anywhere else I shopped. To be honest, finding the right dress was one of the most scary and unfamiliar parts of planning for me. I didn't think the 'ahhah' moment that people talk about was a real thing. I've never watched those say yes to the dress episodes and knew nothing about what to expect of the process. It was almost too easy to find the perfect dress thanks to the personal attention I received and the honest advice that the staff here provided for me. My party of 5 and I had so much fun at Unbridaled! The shop is bright and airy and has a variety of styles. We didn't struggle to find dresses in my price range ($2500 before alterations) but the sizes they had available to try on could use some improvement. Amber helped us out and she made the whole experience a blast! She pulled some pieces in addition to the ones my party and I picked out but I never once felt pressured into trying on something or into buying a dress. Unbridaled opened during the horrendous freeze of 2021 when I had my appointment scheduled for weeks prior and were so kind and helpful throughout the entire appointment. Alright, I'm super in love with my almost hubs. But I am officially over wedding planning and ready to just elope. The good news is: I have a dress! So we totally could! (But we won't... gah!!) I digress. I was not in the mood to go to 32 different bridal salons and really would have been okay with a $20 dress budget. I tried a couple of places up in DFW, but when my best friend/MOH suggested Unbridaled, I think I literally slapped my forehead. I used to live off of Manchaca and drove by this place every single day for over a year. Of course, I had to see what they were offering. I wasn't quite sure what I wanted going in, but I knew it was not the fancy-schmancy, big ball gown, $75K price range type. I tried to be upfront of what I was envisioning and my budget, and my new favorite person, Eileen, worked her magic. As soon as I tried on her suggested dress and threw on the veil, tears were shed. UGH. Oh, and one of the best parts - it was way under budget and came in a couple of months before the wedding. No additional alterations needed! (At least not yet...) There are not enough words to fully convey the love and appreciation associated to Kelsey at Unbridaled. Anil and I got engaged in July of 2016 and set a date in late April 2018. Now, it is mid-February 2018 and my wedding is in two months and some change. Here's my wedding dress story: My first dress was the first wedding item I purchased in the spring of 2017. It was a sample - Carmina by Anne Barge (meaning, nothing had to be ordered, I tried to the dress on, got bagged up on the spot and next steps were altering hems and getting it taken in by a seamstress). Gorgeous. Soft. Delicate. And the first dress I ever tried on while working at Unbridaled. My vision of our wedding has evolved and with it came doubts about the dress. Queue nervous music. I never took it to the seamstress and had hesitation to. All these questions and fears of indecisiveness sunk in. It felt like a movie off the Hallmark channel. I figured: it's natural. This is all new to me. Marriage, commitment, being clear and gracefully strong are new tools I have picked up and have the opportunity to sharpen. It is ridiculous for me to think I am a pro already and have everything figured out. So, dress change. So what. What was next was a flood of anxious questions: "Oh no, am I going to have to pay for a whole new dress. What do I do with this one? What are others going to think? Get it together." I decided to confront the fear and anxiety of changing my mind. I walked into Unbridaled, dress in bag in hand and to my pleasant surprise, Kelsey was there to greet me with open arms, a big smile, questions about the wedding and a no-judgement attitude of my situation. She suggested I select a few styles I am leaning toward now and we agreed I would try on Anne Barge Carmina again with some styling tips. And I did. And it was fun. And I realized that I felt more free and "more me" in a different dress. Queue nervous music. Now what? Here's where Kelsey went above and beyond. The dress I selected was a sample dress (like Carmina) and the same price. Kelsey offered to trade the dress flat out. How incredible! It proves that sometimes, I make situations more challenging on myself by analyzing and agonizing over asking people what my options are. And it also helps that there are amazing business owners, like Kelsey, who are compassionate and willing to work with a indecisive (clearly not always right) customer. It saddens me greatly to have to knock Unbridaled down a few stars, but I'm an unhappy bride. Here's the back story. Once I went in to pick up my dress months ago, I noticed a large crease on the front. I asked the sales girl about having it steamed out and she said it was no problem. Drop the dress off the week of my wedding and they would have it ready to go. I noticed there was a tag on my dress stating to not steam it, but press it to remove wrinkles. I kept that tag on my dress just in case I might need to show the girls at Unbridaled before they steamed it. This week I call them up to confirm I can get my dress steamed. They said to bring it in. I do mention the tags says no steam. The sales girl asks for the name of my dress and confirms it can be steamed. So I drive down, drop off my dress, confirm with the same girl I spoke to one the phone...."Are you sure you can steam this dress?" She tells me yes it can be done. Within 30 minutes, I receive a call telling me my dress cannot be steamed because it would ruin the fabric and I need to pick it up and get it PRESSED myself. Yep, after I spent all that time CONFIRMING it could be done, it can't. So I pick my dress up, and the sales girl offers me a place that can press my dress. It's a dry cleaners. I am not happy going to a dry cleaners with my $2000+ wedding dress. I received no apology or a sorry. That really sucked. I did end up getting a co-worker to call in a favor and have Julian Gold professionally press it for me on-site the next day. Just for grins, I call up the cleaners to find out how much I would have been charged to have my dress pressed. They don't even offer this service!!!!!!! They do preservation of the dress after the wedding, sending it off to another location, and takes about 3 weeks. Thanks for nothing Unbridaled. I felt that once they had my money, the service was gone. I cannot recommend them any longer. read more

My co-worker kept telling me that I had to go to Unbridaled to check out wedding dresses. But I was a little worried that the selection wouldn't be traditional enough for me. However, one day, a wedding dress spirit drew me over to Unbridaled. I had just left another store, where I had made the tough choice to not buy a dress that I thought I was the one for me. So I was a little depressed that I still hadn't found my dress. The wedding dress spirit wasn't going to let me be down though - it called me over to Unbridaled, giving me a feeling that my dress was there. I was greeted by smiles all around. I wish I could remember the name of the girl that helped me, but I can't at the moment. She listened to my preferences, made some selections, and also allowed me to make my own. I was shopping alone, but she made me feel like I was shopping with my best friend. She was honest, and helpful. She took as many pictures as I wanted to show to my Mom. She also did an excellent job at clipping the dress! I fell in love with the first dress I tried on. Even her face lit up! It drew the attention of some other employees, including the owner (I think) - they were all very sweet and made me feel like I was among friends. I ended up going back at least 2 more times. Each time, they remembered me, they discussed with me, they listened to my worries etc...Never once did I feel forced into anything. And the store itself, is wonderful. It is comfortable and warm and they even offer cocktails on Thursdays. I highly recommend Unbridaled - their prices and services are unmatched. I'd heard a lot of rave reviews about Unbridaled, and I really *wanted* to like it, as I love the name and general idea of an "uncommon bride," which I fancied myself to be. But when I was dress-hunting last year (my absolute least favorite part of the whole wedding-planning ordeal), I didn't have the best experience there. I'm not rich, and I certainly didn't want to lay out a ton of cash for a dress I'd wear once. So I was looking for something in the $200 or less price range, which I thought would be reasonable. I guess not, since when I told the sales girl this at Unbridaled, she sorta made a face and showed me a few racks I could look through. Then, she promptly ignored me. I mean, I get it that I wasn't their ideal type of customer, who's going to buy an expensive dress and possibly tons of accessories as well. There'd be no reason for her to cater to me hand and foot. But I wasn't looking for that -- I would have been fine with an occasional check-in and "how's it going over here?" in case I had any questions. Which I did, but after she disappeared and I had to wander around the store looking for someone else to help me, I just gave up and left. I completely agree with Dawn B's review. This was my first stop in the hunt for the perfect wedding dress (priced well below $1000). I have to admit, that I was pretty nervous, since I didn't know what to expect. I wasn't sure if I would be reenacting the scene from Pretty Woman, when they make her leave the boutique. So sad! Anyway, my experience was quite the opposite. While there were plenty of dresses that would break the bank, for those with expensive taste. There were also more dresses than I expected within my budget. Monica was helping me, and I really appreciated her laid-back attitude. She just left me and my friend alone; and popped up when needed to help. I found 3 dresses that I absolutely love. Keep in mind, several of the dresses take 12-14 weeks to order, but there are a handful that can be bought off the rack or ordered in just a couple of weeks. This review could go up to 5 stars, but since I haven't had to deal with the ordering process yet, I will just leave it at 4 for the time being. read more

Who knew finding the perfect wedding dress could be so easy? Thanks to Kelsey, I found the dress of my dreams! She showed me dresses in my price range ($500-$800) and wasn't pushy or invasive on what she thought would look good on me. She gave me space to look and pick out a few dresses I liked which made my shopping experience less stressful. I ended up buying the second dress I tried on and it fit beautifully. Kelsey informed me that she does not make commission from her sales so I was instantly relieved to find out I wasn't just a "sale" and that she honestly wanted to help me find what I was looking for. Picked up The Dress today, and the experience was just as awesome as the ordering. They had shoes and a strapless bra for me to borrow when I tried it on and--bonus--it needs to be taken IN a little bit (as opposed to being too small, which would've sucked big time). I tried on a lot of accessories (which, for the most part are pretty pricey), and settled on a lovely and simple hair comb (to go in my half up/half down 'do) and passed on the jewelry. The gal helping me was AWESOME with suggestions, and highly recommended a gal they work with frequently to do the alterations. Unbridaled was the fourth and last stop on a whirlwind tour of Austin's bridal stores with my engaged friend. The minute we walked in, I knew I wanted to live here. My friend had been the day before and felt the same way. The dresses here are beautiful. The materials feel like natural material and the staff is also fantastic. You don't have to fill out any forms to try on a dress and no one dresses you or feels you up while you try things on. Also, the accessories are really cool. None of the fake looking, gawdy rhinestone stuff that can take things over the top. My friend isn't looking for bridesmaids dresses, but while she tried things on, I couldn't help but look at all the great designs in amazing colors and fabrics. While I'm relieved there will be no attendants in this wedding, if there were, and she chose something from here, I'd be pretty darned happy. In addition, they are the only place in town that I know of that carries dresses by Thread. I wish they'd been here during the wedding disaster of '05 when my now sister-in-law picked dresses by Thread and there was no place in Austin to try them on leading me to get one that was way too small and have to buy a second dress at full price and have it rushed to me in time for the wedding. That sucked. I ended up spending over $1500 on that wedding and it wasn't even mine, but I digress... Anyone need a never worn, sage green bridesmaid dress? Think Unbridaled would take it back? I absolutely have to recommend this place. I've been looking for wedding dresses in San Francisco and let me tell you how refreshing this little haven was. Here's why I gave it five stars: Star One - I didn't have an appointment but they let me and my 3 friends right in on a SATURDAY! Star Two: I could actually touch the dresses Star Three: I was allowed to dress myself Star Four: No one hovered - I could relax and take my time with the dresses and my friends, soaking in the reality of wearing a Wedding Gown!!! I didn't feel nervous or weird. The salesperson was there when I needed help but she never intruded on the experience. Star Five: They had a great, affordable, unique selection. I'm getting married, but I'm really not into weddings, aside from the drinking part. With my big day one month away, I have yet to buy a bridal mag or register for a bridal website (btw, how flash crazy are those things?). So, even though I love a good, overpriced piece of clothing, I was less than thrilled about having to find a wedding dress. I really hate long veils, sequin explosions, and lace. So I was thrilled that the overall vibe of the dresses at Unbridaled were simple, modern (whatever that means) and very affordable. The staff, all of them, were very helpful, insightful, and patient in helping me find a gown that was "me". Because even though I looked damn hot in every gown I tried on, "me" could only justify buying one. They also have a really great selection of bridesmaid dresses that are beautifully cut, so that if you perchance have a sister that works in the fashion industry, she won't kill you for buying her a dress that fits like crap, when she knows that you know that she knows, it's all about the fit. On top of everything else, I had a change of heart on the dress colors ( I know, I suck) and they were able to help me sort everything out with my dressmaker. Total snaps for service! ***** I was also pleasantly surprised to learn that after a surprise encounter by a pool, a month after I ordered my dress, Monica, the manager, not only call out to me, she remembered the dress I ordered, and all of my modifications I had planned. Unbridaled was just what I was looking for when I got married earlier this year. They're a great example of what I like about Austin.... Laid back, in a funky old house, central location, friendly mellow staff, gorgeous and understated dresses at different budgets, non-judgmental. I did not want a hoity toity experience. We bucked a lot of our tradition in our wedding and all that hoity toity hullaballoo while shopping for my dress would have turned me off from the whole experience. I just wanted to feel beautiful on our special day. I shopped alone. I found "the dress" but was nervous about pulling the trigger so went back more than once. There was no pressure and shopping was fun. If you want to bring in the entourage, that works there too! But, otherwise, you can have a very sweet shopping experience on your own and the staff is very helpful and honest in making suggestions. (Frankly, I saw the staff make much better suggestions than friends and family people had along with them.) And if you're reading this because you're getting married, best wishes!! I got married for my first time at 41. A lot of what they say is true - it can be work! But we've gotten through some of the first year bumps and we're very happy / life is great. Our entire experience here was quite excellent. From the moment we entered we were greeted with a smile and a comfortable and friendly demeanor. The entire vibe of this store is casual yet professional, laid-back without being stuffy and stale like other places can be. The dressing area is communal, four rooms total, so if that bothers you this won't be your place. There was something cool about getting encouragement and hearing compliments from other people and it made the whole experience more of a social event. They have music playing as well which keeps the atmosphere more lively. The lady who helped us really understood what my sister was looking for and made some good contributions and suggestions of her own. She even introduced us to different dress ideas and accessories we had never even heard of. The dresses range from $300-$6500 and with the variety there seemed to be something for everyone. In fact, all the other women there were trying on a completely different style of dress which proved just how individual and unique dress shopping can and should be. They have a few racks of bridesmaid dresses which you are welcome to try on as well. From what I saw, the majority were in the $120-$250 range with books full of colors and dresses sorted by maker. It's also an added bonus that you can just walk in on weekdays without an appointment. Unbridaled gave me exactly what I wanted: a decently priced wedding dress with out all the fuss. I really wanted to make the dress buying process as painless as possible. My mission was to try on as few as possible, and to spend less than my mortgage payment on a dress I'll only wear once. My appointment was for a Saturday morning, and I arrived to a full house. I was greeted, shown the dressing room, and told to pick out some dresses. All the dresses are displayed on racks in the front of the store, so you are free to choose the ones you want to try on. The girls who work here don't work on commission, which is definitely a bonus. They don't smother you or push you to try on the most expensive gown, which I appreciated. I did find "the dress" here, and had no issues after purchasing it. I ordered it, and four weeks later it arrived with absolutely no issues. read more

Such a perfect little bridal shop! This was my last stop on a whirlwind wedding dress trip. I stopped in for a sample sale they were having, and was so pleased with the selection and customer service when I was there. The store is adorable and ladylike- you can get ready in the back and there is plenty of room to bring your bridesmaids or mom to help you back there. I was alone when I went and the girl who helped me try on all of my outfits (can't remember her name) was the best! She helped me, recommended other dresses when I wasn't feeling one, took pics on my phone for me! In the end, I found a dress that made me light up when I put it on. Since I wasn't sure about the whole decision yet, I told her I needed a few minutes to think/text my sister the pics and see what she said. She asked if I needed to see it on again (YES!), and it was like she was reading my mind. As soon as I put the dress back on, I fell in love again and that was it! I found my dress! This place is amazing!!! I have been engaged for about 8 months, and we recently decided to do something about it and finally plan a wedding. In a fit of excitement my friend and I swung by Unbridaled to get an idea of what I wanted, though the wedding is 13 months away. I was helped by Kelly, who is the sweetest, cutest, most awesome person I could have asked for! She had no problem with the fact that I was "window shopping" and in fact convinced me to try some gowns on anyways for a better image. I'm so glad she did because now I know the exact gown I want and now I just have to get myself to fit in a smaller size of it! They had a great selection of different styles and sizes (that I noticed) to try on from about 8 - 18. Most prices were $1000 - $3500 with most hanging around two thousand, which is awesome because they custom order these dresses to your exact measurements for that price. I hadn't watched the time and didn't realize I was trying on a dress or two about half an hour after they were supposed to close. I apologized like crazy, but she actually smiled and pulled a handful MORE for me to try on! Kelly gave me tons of info on each gown and each designer individually, helped me get in and out of pools of tulle, and managed to pull gowns that fit what I envisioned better than even I realized I wanted it. When I left she gave me a card with my top 3 picks and all the prices and info needed to order. They also had two full racks of bridesmaids gowns (half of them look the same to me, but that's more designers' fault for being unoriginal) where I found the perfect art deco style dress that comes in yellow! They have accessories galore and plenty of sashes and shoes I will be glancing at when I go in to order my dress in a few months. I was so grateful that they let me browse without an appointment (It was a Thursday), but I was absolutely blown away at how much help I got when they knew I wasn't anywhere near ready to make a purchase this month. Nobody was pushy and they seemed genuinely happy for me, my desires, and my bridesmaid who accompanied me. I have no need to shop anywhere else, nor could I imagine wanting to. If you are needing a wedding dress I cannot suggest anywhere better. In fact, I would say don't go anywhere else! read more

Like many brides who end up at Unbridaled, I am Not A Wedding Person. I had basically no clue what I wanted beyond "not a cupcake dress." Fortunately, the women at Unbridaled were able to get a great sense of my style in less than half an hour and point me in the right direction, all without being pushy. My friend and I wandered in on a Friday afternoon and had the good fortune to be the only people in the shop for most of our time there. I really, really wish I had gotten the name of the lady working with us because she was an absolute doll. After helping me try on several dresses (that I had picked out) that clearly just Weren't Working and discussing what I wanted/what kind of wedding I was having, she basically found me The Dress (or if not The Dress, then definitely a finalist). She was then happy to hand me veil after hairpiece after jeweled headband to help me find a look that was just right -- I think the best part was that she seemed to genuinely enjoy helping me figure things out, as opposed to just being store-clerk-nice. I never felt any push to buy right away, either, which I really appreciated considering how far away the actual date still is. The prices on all of the dresses, even the more ornate ones, all seemed very reasonable. They were all well organized and it was extremely easy to browse the selection. The dressing area was bright, open, and spotless. The only quibble I had was that they don't have extra bustiers for you to use like I had experienced at Julian Gold, but that is a pretty minor thing. My experience was so awesome that when it comes time to buy my dress, I honestly cannot imagine going anywhere else. read more

Full disclosure: I didn't end up buying my wedding dress from Unbridaled. But I really, really wanted to! Unfortunately, because they're a small boutique their inventory is limited and it turned out that I found a dress I liked better at a store with a larger inventory. However, I still want to give them a positive review because they had the best customer service of any of the bridal boutiques I went to in Austin. (And I went to 5 different places!) They balanced excellence and attentiveness with a laid-back, genuine, and non-pushy approach (and believe me, this is RARE in the world of wedding dress boutiques- most are at least somewhat pushy/aggressive) I had a lovely experience both times I went into the store and with both salespeople who helped me. I really appreciated their dedication to good customer service while keeping pushiness to a minimum. If you have your heart set on a unique wedding dress and are sure you want something with a boho vibe, I would definitely recommend Unbridaled. If you are looking for something more traditional (or something with sleeves- their selection of dresses with sleeves is pretty small) you will probably end up like me and find more selection elsewhere. But, they are certainly very patient and helpful and well worth a look if you like their style. read more

I was looking for a reception dress, since my wedding dress is extremely uncomfortable even though it looks really good, and I stopped by Unbridaled during my lunch break. It was a Wednesday afternoon so it was empty, as expected, and it was really nice just having the whole shop to myself where I didn't have to bump elbows with other eager brides. There were two people there (forgot their names) and they were extremely helpful and nice. The price range for my reception dress was max 2k so they made sure I didn't try on any dresses higher than that price. I feel like most other places would want you to try on expensive dresses so that you would fall in love with it and open up a new credit card just to buy it! Since I was by myself, one of the ladies even took pictures of me on my phone so I could send it to my Matron of Honor in New York. I found the perfect dress but unfortunately I found an even more perfect reception dress online. However, I will be getting my birdcage veil from this store. They have an excellent selection for dresses and accessories and I highly recommend all brides to come to this store first. read more

Wonderful customer service and beautiful gowns! As you can see from my other reviews, I did A LOT of wedding dress shopping during my wedding planning. So, by the time I got to Unbridaled, I knew exactly what I wanted! When I stopped by, they happened to be setting up for their big sample sale the next day and were very apologetic about the slight chaos. I didn't care though because I felt like I was getting a small peak at what was on sale! In the end, I did not purchase my dress from Unbridaled. But I did find a dress that was absolutely lovely!!! The only problem was that it was WAYYYYYYYY out of my price range. But that's not Unbridaled's fault, so I'm still giving them 5 stars. Plus, someone's got to carry the higher end stuff in Austin. I really don't know where else you could go besides Serendipity. The service was great. The space is smaller, so you don't get overwhelmed. And even though they are very expensive, all the dresses and designers that they carry at Unbridaled are gorgeous!! If you're looking to spend more on your wedding dress or looking for a specific high end designer, definitely try Unbridaled! read more
