I've been coming many times now since it's in a super convenient location to me. Decent place for boba drinks and popcorn chicken. Their boba is consistently cooked nicely so that's definitely a plus. Popcorn chicken is also good although not authentically Taiwanese style, but still tasty (I get them with the sour plum flavor and spicy). Inside has a small seating area. Their operating hour is quite short, I wish they would open earlier or later! Their menu is also not as full as the location in Chinatown, much limited options at this location (both drinks and snacks). read more

Come on, Ume Tea - you just need to do better. This location is extremely dirty and unhygienic - the place has grime and marks all over the place (floors, walls, seating areas), and there are insects/gnats just flying around. The staff aren't helpful, and you'll have to do the ordering on their kiosk. I wanted to check out their Surprise Cups, but they were all out, and the plushes that you could purchase were 'sold out'. Didn't know they opened a location in the loop! I came here randomly during the day and it was completely empty, but it was right around opening time at noon. The person working there preferred that ordering was done through the screen, which is easier for me with all the different boba options. The surprise cup is so fun! Boba was pretty good and perfectly cooked. Nice and chewy. I could tell the tea was a high quality but I should have ordered it a bit sweeter. read more

Came here as a cursory search on Yelp gave me high hopes for this boba shop in the loop. Its a tiny, cute aesthetic-ed shop with their little bunny mascot all over. I saw they had mochi as a drink option and had to get it as my brother had been mentioning its existence back in socal. I got one of their specials for the season, a hot milk tea with black rice and mochi. I thought it was odd they gave me a hot drink with a regular sealed top vs a sip top but it made sense given the various things in my drink. Taking a cautious sip, it wasn't hot enough to burn me even through a straw so I was happy with that. The mochi was a very fun addition and surprisingly tasty. I got a yumberry jelly slush(50% sugar) with boba and a takoyaki. My total was $18.37 which I think is a bit pricey but everything was good. I had seen a video online of the place and thought itd be fun to visit, i walked here from the place im staying and it was a nice walk. We got there and the restruant was very cute and pink, although I felt it lacked in tables and some decor but it wasnt bad. Ordering was very easy and the drinks were surprisingly cheap, both my brother and I ordered the surprise plush cups and the total was about 12.50. It took a little bit if the wait but I suppose it's because there was one girl working back there. The drink were very yummy and the surprise Keychain made me soooo happy and they were so cute, and i also got an extra free kitty keychain for leaving a google review. So refreshing! I got the lychee watermelon green tea, 50% sweet, with lychee jelly and I was pleasantly surprised. I was worried that it was going to taste like artificial watermelon but it was just real crushed watermelon with watermelon chunks and the perfect amount of sweetness. As a boba lover, this place hit the spot, especially because I live far away in a place that has no boba shops. There was only 1 person running the shop when I went, which was weird because I do think this place deserves more recognition. Pros: I got my drink immediately after I ordered! 6/10: I got the watermelon lychee tea with crystal boba with 50% sweetness. The sweetness level was perfect for me as I could taste lychee, watermelon, and the tea all combining harmoniously. However, it's a 6/10 because it wasn't anything too special to me. Still, it was definitely tasty, and if I was nearby and wanted boba, I'd get it again. I wanted to also try the mango yogurt drink, so it just means I have to go back again!!! The interior was the cutest pink ever and I loved the decorative wall. I do wish they had more tables to make it feel less awkward because only 1 side has seats and the rest is unevenly empty. The tea is okay, but most of the time they are out of additives such as mochi. I go to this spot frequently and almost every time they don't tell you they are out of something until after you order and pay for it. I've seen many customers upset over this. The service is probably some of the worst i've seen. The counter is frequently left unattended and when I went in today there were three people waiting at an empty counter asking for service, we could hear someone in the back making noise but they didn't come to the counter. Customers were coming in and leaving once they realized what was going on. The entrance of the store is cluttered with trash and cardboard boxes, sometimes blocking the door. The boba is good but the service is so bad that it makes more sense to go somewhere with slightly worse boba but better service. read more

I went to the Ume location on Jackson a few minutes ago and the lights were out and the store was closed. It was around 1:45-2pm and there was no sign on the door indicating why they were closed. Also, last week I ordered a yum berry slushy and the guy made it wrong, no berries and no jelly. He insisted that it was what I ordered but it was not what I have gotten in the past. My coworker went in the same day and also said hers wasn't made the correctly. This is a big disappointment as we are pretty loyal customers. Hope things will improve as this is my second review and nothing has improved. read more

I had very high expectations for this store. Everything was great from the drinks to the ambience. I got a drink in a bunny surprise cup and was very impressed with the drink. It tasted great. I went back to my hotel since I'm on a school trip, and to my surprise when I opened my cup, there was no plushie. I've tried contacting the store but they didn't answer and now I lost 4 dollars for nothing. I would really like a refund. read more

Omgoodness, I nearly freaked out when I went out for a walk during lunch and saw this new tea shop around by building. How did I miss the opening?! The door decor immediately melted all my stress away. The pink bunny sweet esthetic just made me smile immediately... maybe it's because my zodiac sign is the bunny. The merch all called my name (did I mention the super crazy prices?!l I went in for some drinks but then I saw some gentlemen raving about the chicken...to the point they were offering people to try from their plate...so I had to order it spicy. I also got a Thai tea with creme brulee and boba as well as a 3Q Black milk tea. Omg...omg...everything was super delicious and yes...I was that crazy person eating on the train because the chicken smelled delicious...shhhhh...I was supposed to take it home to have the fam try (it did not make it).
