It took some back and forth via email and phone tag to get our quote and move forward with the…read morework. My understanding is that whoever was handling the admin work at the time had dropped the ball on some things and changes had been made to prevent that happening again. I'm updating my previous review since we were able to work through that with great results. We had S&S install an interior french drain in the lower level of our home. He arrived on time for the estimate, my husband thought that the consult was great and Steve made a great impression - in fact of the contractors we had out, we liked him the most, he was knowledgeable, respectful, pricing was competitive and fair. Our house had been experiencing water intrusions for years so we had a variety of different folks out from "basement waterproof systems" to drainage engineers and landscape firms. Steve explained exactly what we needed and why and it made sense, unlike many of the other approaches we'd heard. Further, the price was rig The job itself was absolutely awesome! The crew arrived on time, finished the job on time, left the house absolutely spotless (and this is an incredibly messy job involving jackhammering concrete subfloor to trench in the drainage work). They were kind and respectful of our home and wore masks while working. We appreciated that they took the time to explain everything about the new sump system and how long to wait for the concrete to cure until we moved forward with our framing work. We have had flooding issues in our partially below grade lower level for years, but we haven't had a single drop of moisture in the house in the 3 months since we had the work done -- and it has rained A LOT since then. Steve even called after the first big heavy rain to check on the system and make sure everything was looking good and dry. That level of care and service is so rare. We have already talked about having him back to do some structural work in our basement when the time is right. Highly recommend!

We reached out to S&S Waterproofing due to them being a local small business. They were so professional, timely, communicative and punctual. The crew was respectful while working in our home and they did a great job cleaning up all the scraps and debris left from the job because our drywall needed to come down and concrete needed drilled through. They quickly realized we needed footers as we are in an older home and there weren't any. They had the materials already available and only charged a small portion additional. I'd definitely recommend this company for anyone looking to have similar work completed!

We first used DD 22 years ago to waterproof our basement. Recently we noticed some mold. We called…read morethem to come out and take a look, as there is a lifetime warranty their work. Antonio found that one of our sump pumps was broken, resulting in some moisture build up, and the associated mold. All that needed to be done was some minor mold remediation and replacement of the pump. Contrast that with two other estimates we had obtained (before we remembered the warranty) that didn't find the faulty sump pump, and wanted to replace drains and do major mold remediation for thousands more dollars, rather than just treating the moldy area. To top that off, I called on a Friday, they were able to come by and assess the situation the same day, and do the work the following Monday! No waiting!

Their team is consistently professional, responsive, and a pleasure to work with. Most recently, we needed their help to repair a support post under our outdoor deck that had begun to rot due to poor drainage. They not only fixed the structural issue quickly and thoroughly, but also installed a proper drain to prevent the problem from happening again. Their pricing has always been very reasonable, especially considering the quality of their work and the speed of their response. It's rare to find a company you can trust repeatedly, but they've earned that trust every single time. Highly recommend.

I purchased a 1950's home in Alexandria, VA in 2018; one of the first steps that needed to be…read moreundertaken was air sealing and re-insulating the attic and encapsulating the crawlspace to bring the home to modern comfort and health standards. I went with Comfenergy due to their professionalism and expertise. From the energy audit and consultation (Matt), to the removal and re-installation of attic insulation, crawlspace encapsulation and dehumidifier installation (Dylan & crew), things have performed as expected over a year later. No more humidity, no more overworked HVAC, and no more mud pit under the house. I am writing this review because I had an issue with the dehumidifier that was installed (throwing an error code). I called on a Monday before a holiday and explained the situation. Comfenergy had someone (Ariel) out by Friday to diagnose. He fixed the issue, offered amazing advice, answered all of my questions, and even performed an inspection of their previous work (going as far to spot repair a few places that had weakened due to settling). This kind of customer service, over one year after performing their work, made me feel a whole lot better over such a major investment and project for my home. I believe this is one of those instances where "you get what you pay for," and Comfenergy certainly exceeded my expectations.

To their credit they came out again but there was again no difference in the rooms and there were gaps left after installing some insulation under an addition. We are now in the process of trying to get someone else to do correctly the work we contracted them to do.
