We had a $27k contract for JES to stabilize the foundation of our garage in Charlottesville and to…read moreaddress water that would seep into the basement during heavy rain events. The main work was done very well and professionally. The contract, however, also called for drilling a long hole into the end of a wall through multiple cinderblocks to drain the water intrusion that was getting specifically into the basement's stairwell wall. There was no other access point to the bottom cinderblocks of the stairway wall. It was a clever solution written into the contract, and the provision specifically stated that JES would bring a 36-48-inch masonry drill bit in order to drill a hole long enough to accomplish the goal. After the team completed the main work, we pointed out the need to finish the job by drilling this hole, but they did not have such a long bit with them. We then reached out many, many times over many months to get this hole drilled. Most often we were met with silence, but when we ultimately have gotten a response, the person would say, "Sorry, we will get that done." Twice, JES workers have actually shown up -- but without a long drill bit. They would then look at the situation and understand why the long drill bit was needed, say they would arrange for it to happen, and then radio silence. After we posted a longer version of the story as a review, apparently higher-up JES management people got involved and pretty quickly sent someone out with the right drill and bit to finish the contracted work. Presumably, some HR training has happened also and given that the job is now complete with the vast majority of it having been done well and in a timely manner -- I've now upwardly revised my rating.

(I'm listed in San Francisco but I don't know why - I'm in Midlothian.) The communication at the…read moreMidlothian office is absolutely horrible. The foundation repair work was very good, except several items were left undone. I've been trying for two months to get someone out to look at a soft spot in my den floor and the separation between the front porch and the front door that occurred after the foundation was lifted. Rick Myers and Destany Bing took my calls until several weeks ago and now they just ignore me. I would recommend consumers go with another company.

Their team is consistently professional, responsive, and a pleasure to work with. Most recently, we needed their help to repair a support post under our outdoor deck that had begun to rot due to poor drainage. They not only fixed the structural issue quickly and thoroughly, but also installed a proper drain to prevent the problem from happening again. Their pricing has always been very reasonable, especially considering the quality of their work and the speed of their response. It's rare to find a company you can trust repeatedly, but they've earned that trust every single time. Highly recommend.

I reached out to desert dry five years after I bought my house. They had installed a French drain for water management for the previous owners and issued a warranty. My issue was water coming into my basement floor. Once I reached out to Desert dry, they swiftly responded, provided the invoices from the previous owner, describing the work they had done and scheduled the appointment. David came in as scheduled and went through great lengths to recreate the water incident. As the wall was open, he found other issues that stemmed from a builder flaw. He was very thorough in explaining and documenting his findings. He honored his warranty by testing and clearing the French drain and increasing the height of the wall insulant. This was not done the first time because the owner did not explain the room would have insulation installed. He tested the slump pump thoroughly, although this equipment was not part of his original work. David came twice to test and assess, stayed at least two hours each time, and when they (David and a team of 3) came for the water management enhancement, they performed as if the work would be invoiced. They arrived on time with all the material, kept me posted as they opened the drywall, protected my floors and furniture, and left the site impeccable. His team did an amazing job and they did so at no cost for a level of effort that would easily stand around 2K given the time and material. I feel the warranty was beyond honored. I will trust them with any additional work and recommend this company to my entire neighborhood as reliable, trustworthy and extremely knowledgeable. On the day they finished, their work was tested against a storm that came through our area that same night. As I sat in the basement, I heard the water run through and be redirected just as planned. The pump kicked in perfectly as planned. 18 days later I am so glad to report that I am confident their work will stand the test of time and any inclement weather that comes our way.
