I came here for lunch. Love the area and the prices were decent. The food was just ok. I ordered the vegetable fried rice and the spicy tuna and spicy crab roll. The rice was good; but the sushi was just mediocre. Our waiter was very attentive and patient as we waited for our full party to arrive. The restaurant was clean and love that you can walk around a bit afterwards. Overall, I'm glad I tried it out but it wasn't my favorite

Food: Best Korean fried chicken I've ever had! I always have to get the fried chicken wings when I come visit. I know the chef personally went through all kinds of different trials and recipe tweaks to get it absolute perfection. The hamachi collar is one of the best I've had as well. One of the friends in our group said it was her favorite dish of the night besides the wings. The pad Kee mao is legit, so much flavor and we totally killed that dish. If you're into inventive creative dishes, try the kimchi fries, interesting way to make loaded fries. All the sushi rolls that we ordered were delicious, chef's kiss "mwah"! Service: Stop by the bar and say Hello to Michelle. She is the sweetest! I've talked to a couple regulars who love going here and I'm sure it's because of the friendly staff. Ambiance: I won't lie, the Kpop music videos distracted me like no other but it's so fun to watch! They all look like perfect dolls. It gives the place a fun vibe though.

Been here a few times and have consistently been impressed with their food. This past trip, I sat at the bar and chatted with the owner. She was so friendly and welcoming. We got spicy edamame, miso soup, ginger salad (with homemade dressing that was incredible), the Umami roll, the Firecracker, and the sushi special. Every single item was better than the next! You can tell they put a lot of effort into their food. Highly recommend!

Went around 4:30 pm on a Sunday and had no trouble being seated. Service was good, the server was attentive and was helpful with the menu. The sushi was delicious. The ingredients were fresh and both rolls did not disappoint! The beef pho was not that great, the dish lacked flavor. Overall would return for the sushi and service!

My first experience here was average. The beef pho was very flavorful but nothing special about it. I also had the spicy Korean fried wings which were not spicy at all. The service was a little slow but the restaurant was nice and clean.

We visited for trivia and had a great time! It was also half off wine (Tuesday), however their wine prices are not listed on the menu, which made it a bit cumbersome to work out which wine to order. I ordered the boneless wings and did half and half. So crispy and yummy! The spicy isn't very spicy at all, but still very tasty! The pieces of chicken are big so I definitely could have gone with a smaller order. Kimchi fried rice was also good. Server was great and kept everyone's orders straight even though we had a large party. It was loud for trivia but we had so much fun!

Glad to see this establishment survived covid!! Because the chicken wings were the bomb!! I had the seafood ramen... Definitely a winter dish. And needs more seafood in it. But was so delicious! And maybe I'm a bit country but I really wanted to eat it with some cornbread LOL now those wings... make them spicy and keep them coming! They were the bomb! My daddy got pad thai with extra broccoli... well thanks Umami!! Now I have to make a decision as to whether or not I'm going to get the wings out of the pad thai now! But either way whatever I get from here is going to be good! And the staff is incredibly considerate thoughtful and friendly! This is always going to be a fave

Umami is like visiting your favorite auntie's kitchen, a warm cozy place where loved ones gather. While it can get busy and the wait can be a bit longer, the server here is awesome and stays on top of things. Food came out at a reasonable time and wings do take a bit longer (as stated on the menu) so plan accordingly when ordering. We put an order as soon as we were seated. I recommend doing half spicy and half garlic to try both flavors- this is easily one of their best dishes here. We also ordered chicken katsu, gyoza, pork ramen, beef pho and kimchi fries. Do not skip the kimchi fries! This was a flavor bomb and one I'll be getting each time. The beef pho was a little disappointing as the broth was not what you'd expect with typical pho broth. This broth was a bit cloudy instead of clear and really seemed like they used their ramen broth but with a slight difference in flavor. The pork ramen is good and the broth fit the flavor profiles you'd expect. Ultimately, the pho was not bad, but just don't expect your normal beef pho flavors here. Both soups were huge in portions so be hungry when ordering this or plan to share. Overall this is a solid spot for a variety of quality Asian dishes!

I had a power dinner with a friend who is coming into my business... it was his first time eating Korean food, and Onda blew him away ! We started with a seafood pancake, which we split ...absolutely delicious ~ with a nice dipping sauce on the side Drinks from the bar were very nicely prepared Then we moved on to the best Kalbi I have ever eaten in my life and I've eaten a lot of Kalbi even in LA!! They call it LA Kalbi here. Being a business dinner I sure wanted to impress so I also ordered a plate of beef, Bulgogi and spicy pork Bulgogi both ROCKED ~ all three meats came out on sizzling iron plates All of the sides were as good as anything I've ever had, including the kimchi, which was extra special This is a VERY Classy, upscale, wonderful Korean restaurant with food that is impossibly good ! By the way, it's full of Koreans ..and a couple White folks. so that's always a good sign !!

The flavor was really well balanced! I had just the right amount of spice without being overwhelming, paired with a subtle sweetness that made it super enjoyable to keep eating. It came out on a sizzling plate, which not only kept everything hot but also added a nice touch to the presentation and overall experience. The portion size was very generous, which I always appreciate. I ended up having enough leftovers for lunch the next day, and it held up really well! The restaurant itself was clean and had a nice, comfortable atmosphere. Nothing over the top, but definitely a place you can sit down and enjoy your meal without feeling rushed. That said, the experience wasn't perfect. The side dishes were a bit limited compared to what I was expecting, especially if you're used to a wider variety. Service was also on the slower side. The staff was friendly and polite, but it did take a few attempts to get their attention when I needed a water refill or wanted a to-go box. It wasn't a dealbreaker, but it's something that could definitely be improved. Overall, I'd still recommend Onda if you're looking for flavorful Korean dishes and generous portions. Just be prepared for a more relaxed pace of service. I'd come back again, especially for that spicy pork bulgogi!

After returning last night with my girlfriend and her four-year-old daughter, I can confidently say the experience was completely different. We were greeted and seated immediately, and the service was excellent from beginning to end. When my girlfriend mentioned that her drink was a little too sweet, our server quickly offered to replace it with something else. They also brought toys for her daughter, which was a thoughtful touch and made her feel welcome. The food was amazing. The wings were some of the best I've had, and the lo mein, bulgogi and fried rice were all excellent. Throughout our meal, several people who I assume were managers stopped by to make sure everything was going well. I was genuinely impressed by the level of service. There are fine-dining restaurants in Nashville where you don't receive this much attention or hospitality. Hawkers completely changed my opinion, and we will definitely be back. Highly recommended!

We started off with a round of champagne and a bottle of red wine for dinner. We tried a variety of dishes since we were told that the set up is family style: Hamachi Crudo: 10/10 one of the best I've ever had! Super fresh and the sauce paired well with it. Bluefin Tune Crudo: 8/10 It was really fresh and well prepared, but I've had better elsewhere. I typically prefer bluefin tuna sashimi or nigiri anyway. Tuna Crispy Rice: 9/10 This was such a fun and delicious way to eat spicy tuna! All of the seasonings made it packed full of flavor. Tomahawk Ribeye 9/10: This was insanely tender, and well seasoned. Tip: ask for lemon wedges to sprinkle some lemon juice on it--thank me later. Broccolini 8/10: well prepared, and I loved the lemongrass garlic chili that topped it East Side Shrimp 7/10: These were well cooked and well seasoned. Loved the salad placed underneath it. Wagyu Tartare 8/10: It was well prepared and loved that it's paired with nori and rice. Wished it had a bit more punch to it in terms of seasoning. Crab Fried Rice 8/10: this was delicious but still say it's a solid 8. Beautifully prepared! Korean Hot Wings 2.5/10: I could tell that it was well cooked, but it was insanely salty; it was practically inedible. Hurricane Fries 9/10: These were so delicious! You are immediately hit with the smell of truffle, which made my mouth water. Packed with flavor! Brussels 7/10: These were well roasted, but the sauce was a tad too sweet for my liking. From the food to the service, everything exceeded our expectations. The first thing that stood out was their small plate concept, and I absolutely loved it. I enjoy trying a variety of dishes instead of committing to just one entrée, and this concept is something I wish more restaurants would adopt. We ended up trying almost half the menu and loved nearly every dish. A huge shout-out to our server, Nestor. He welcomed us warmly, was cheerful throughout the evening, and his recommendations were spot on. He truly made the dinner even more enjoyable. We started with a couple of mocktails, and the Purple Haze was refreshing and delicious. Here are some of our favorites: MI Cucumber - Smashed cucumber with soy dressing, crunchy chili oil, and cilantro. Simple, refreshing, and packed with flavor. Plantain - Fried plantains topped with sriracha goat cheese, cilantro, and crunchy gremolata. The sriracha goat cheese paired perfectly with the sweet plantains. K-Pop Chicken - Korean sweet and spicy popcorn chicken with great flavor and a perfect balance of sweetness and heat. Dumplings - Homemade steamed dumplings with edamame, truffle, yuzu ponzu, and garlic confit. I really enjoyed the truffle flavor, though it may not be for everyone. Kimchi Bacon Risotto - Caramelized kimchi, applewood smoked bacon, tomato, and shrimp. One of the best dishes of the night--perfectly cooked with incredible flavor. Crispy Spicy Tuna - Spicy mayo tuna served over crispy rice. This was one of the highlights of the meal. The crispy rice was absolutely perfect. Cauliflower Taco - Crispy cauliflower with guacamole, creamy miso, and tsiran spice. The filling was flavorful, and the cauliflower was cooked perfectly. Lamb Chops - This was the only dish that felt average. The lamb was cooked well, but it was missing a bit of flavor. A little more seasoning, especially some salt, would have really elevated the dish. To finish the meal, we had the Banana Pudding with Vanilla Gelato, which was a delicious and satisfying way to end dinner. Overall, MI Kitchen completely exceeded our expectations. Amazing food, a fun small-plate concept, and outstanding service from Nestor made this a memorable experience. We'll definitely be back to explore the rest of the menu!
