Ultrazone has changed over the years. I hung out here way too often while in high school much longer than I'd care to recall. Recently, I had a chance to take my nephews for a few hours. The laser tag arena is the main focus. Some of the rules have changed, but the basics remain. It didn't take long for me to recall the do's and don't and enjoy the 15 minute sessions. At some point after my high school days, it seems they acquired the place next store and expanded their arcade portion. I think they had a fighting game or two way back. Now they have a wide selection of games which generate tickets which you can trade for prizes. Not really my thing, but certainly one way to keep folks busy while waiting for the next game. Prices are reasonable. Parking is easy. My nephews loved it. Overall, a good way to spend an afternoon that might get kids moving a bit more than other options. read more

I like this place a lot. The main attraction is laser tag, of course multilevel, 3 teams, new equipment. As of this post, you can play a round of laser tag for just under $10 or 3 games for $24. There is a usable party space available, which includes 1 slice of pizza and a soda for each guest as well as a few rounds of laser tag. The pizza is ordered from a local pizzeria. Other items on site, a small in-house arcade, and a laser game (I didn't play it). There is also a vending machine inside where you can get soda, water, and Gatorade for $3 buy if you step right outside, you can get the same from the machine out front for $2.75. I went with a group and had so much fun! It was a bit disappointing though. because there were 3 teenagers that were working. They were walking in a row, shoulder to shoulder in the arenas looking at their phones. It posed a HUGE safety concern because they weren't paying attention and there were children running around. I also ran into them a few times. I did notify the person at the counter who seemed very appreciative and the workers refrained from texting in the arena the next round. Tips: Great for kiddos and adult alike. If you don't want a plethora of children in the arena, I recommend you come later in the evening, as there will likely not be any children or go during the week, as it's less likely. For food, there is a Mexican restaurant next door and they have a margarita special on Mondays. read more

My 10yr old wanted to play laser tag. Since I'm not from the area I had to do a search and what better place than yelp. Not many places in the South Philadephia area so up north we go. Pros: Located in strip mall and plenty of parking Decent waiting area for parents with TVs Very descent prices and specials Game room and party rooms Clean Appears well organized Cons: No snack bar but vending machines Overall doesn't seem like a bad place. If you want laser tag -- this is the spot. Yes, they need to update the arcade area and even the way the lobby / waiting area looks because it's super outdated. Those are the only flaws on their end. It's a two floor space and it's big with three teams competing against each other. Red, Blue, & Yellow. I wish I was able to take pictures inside like I had intentions but once I got in, it was a war zone. Each team has a base, where you can destroy once and gain 2,000 points or you can stand on the base and get special perks like invincibility or rapid fire. They also have icons on the walls that look like hockey pucks (you could easily miss them unless you're intentionally looking for them) that you can destroy also for points up to 10 of them. The vests can get smelly, honestly, but you're going to be in there sweating too. Keep that in mind with what you come dressed in. Once you're moving around in there, for 15 minute rounds, you'll be hot. You can get shot in the chest, shoulders, back and gun -- each carrying a different point system. I love how when we went, we had kids up to peoples grandmas and EVERYONE had fun together. It's real easy to make friends and gain alliances. It's just a dope time and the price is amazing, I think. $20 for 3 fifteen minute rounds or $25 for an all day pass. I'll certainly be back. I gotta get better because I was in the bottom 5 my first two games and then I was in 12th place my third. Oh, and the staff is super friendly. It would be dope (I didn't check but I didn't see anything about it) if they had some good food or snacks for in between rounds, which is about 5-10 minutes. Ultrazone is great place for partys or just to go to have fun playing laser tag. It's even fun for adults just can never get enough of it. As many yeas living in philly. I never knew this place was hear until recently... Bringing my son hear. We definitely will be coming back. They have a arcade to. Not that big. But enough for the kids. With air hockey table. I had my daughter birthday party last night and the staff was great. My daughter and her girlfriends had a blast. We checked in early set up the room and the children arrived and we purchased 100 token for $20 while the rest of the guest arrived. Then they went to room for the rules and they headed over to get their gear and played. Party set up, play game, eat and sing happy birthday, play again and they validated their tickets for winning and the guest went home happy. Reservation was super easy too! I know there was mentioning of the arcade being outdated but the kids did not care. They saw fun all around. This was the easiest and cost effective party that I had done for my daughter. She had eleven guests and the party room can hold 20 kids. Parents loved it because they dropped off the kids while they shopped the mall across the street. I am very pleased with this establishment. Most memorable moment was hearing my daughter laughing with her friends. It was her first laser tag experience and for her guests. read more

I stopped by here on Friday night with a group of 5 adults. We decided to relive our youth with a bit of laser tag. We choose the 11:15 time a lot for longer game play. Instead of the usual 15 minutes you get a full 45 minutes. 45 minutes seems like a long time but when you are caught up in dodging lasers and blasting people the time flies. The "arena" was fairly large just large enough for me to get lost a couple of times. My laser gun gave me a bit of trouble and I couldn't find staff to help me. In the process of looking I got shot up quite a few times. The crowd was mixed-there were a few families, some teenagers and a few adults. Some were there to have a good time and others were playing as if their life depended on it. Overall I had a good time and would consider going again. read more

If you think being older than fifteen makes you too old too enjoy this place, I'm happy to tell you that you're wrong. Of course being older than most of the staff is often laughable, at least when those teenagers tell you to settle down and follow the rules. It's best to go with a big group, at least four people I'd say, to get a good team. However you can find some good old fashioned sportsmanship with your fellow players, and I've met a lot of fun people here. There's also a decent arcade to play at while your waiting for your tag game to start, and they have some awesome old school stuff, most notably The Simpsons which is a dinosaur from the 90s and makes me quite nostalgic. We took two 8 year olds here last night. The overall building is pretty cool, but somewhat dated. The children are called in by groups names, assigned a name for score purposes and given score sheets after each round. The kids enjoyed it very much. Since it was a Friday night, there were a ton of teenagers there. All of the kids played together and didn't appear to have issues because gap in ages. Ultra zone is a great place to bring the kids on a rainy day or if you just want to get out of the house. We stopped here this past Saturday after a family party. They were pretty busy but we got in right away. The facility is fairly large and it seems to be the go to spot for laser tag. The place could use some updating and the games are older. Talk about stepping back in time. '99 - 2000... This place hasn't changed at all. I mean that in a good way. Where else can you play house of dead 2 and virtual cop on arcade ? Talk about classics. The laser tag playing area seemed exactly how I remembered it as well. Dark,foggy and a lot of black lighting. The game itself is pretty fun, I mean you really have to use your imagination a bit though ... a lot of the time(at least for me) I couldn't tell if I was even hitting anyone or if anyone was hitting me...add in the fact that I'm partially colorblind, I was pretty much fucked. I spent the majority of the time running around the course shooting like mad at anyone and everyone. usually my own teammates. I still had a fun time, even though this place is obviously meant for teenagers. Btw i'm glad this place is still hanging in there. If it gets kids out of the house and off of their xbox's & ps4's more power to them. We need more places like this. read more

Came out to Philly this past weekend to spend some qt (quality time) with my nephew that's seven years old. Decided on laser tag which this place had decent reviews. Definitely had a different experience. Located in an ok area one of those shopping areas and from the outside it looks like your about to have the time of your life. We walked in and I was underwhelmed instantly. My nephew was hooked by the arcade video games which we're old and outdated and required physical real quarters. I'm all for the vintage arcade style but how do you have coin machines but not cash machines??? Website never said the arcades take coins so was totally thrown off. The fact there wasn't an ATM machine on premises or around the area made it very annoying. The place could really use a revamping but I stayed anyway. It all wasn't bad as the price for the game was very affordable especially on weekends they have specials just like during the week as advertised on website. My nephew and I waited a good maybe 10 minutes for the next game. When it was time we we're given a crash course on how to play and objectives since we we're newbies. Pretty simple how to aim and places to target along with point system. We picked our team and met our enemies and after given a briefing we we're off to the next room to suit up. It was black lighted with the colors of your team's laser packs we're visable. We went into the laser tag battle area which was kool. Black lighted also with little high/low nook & cranie areas you can camp out if you know the spots. All in all had fun but doubtful I will return. Surely a fan of Ultrazone! I had a blast with my grown friends blasting others in laser tag. The games were about 10 minutes (felt longer), very fun, and only about $6.50. The facility is no where near "top of the line" although online they boast an entertainment room and an arcade. The arcade reminds me of something that would be in the movie theatre lobby, and the entertainment room was just a space with a 50 inch and few chairs. A lot of teens hang here as well! If you are looking for laser tag.. this is your spot. It has more than one level, bases, and the teams we played against all knew how to have fun. I would surely recommend, On Saturdays it's restricted to kids aged 12 and under from 10 am to 4pm, but I went later and there were still kids there, but with us older folks, so I'd say this place was pretty much kid friendly. read more

Amazing lazer tag course!! very big, and awesome gear! I recommend doing the 3 games for $20; games are 15 mins long and will definitely wear you out! However, I feel like they need a different system for separating ages. I got very aggravated that the small children on my team (without adult supervision btw) were doing basically nothing. This was a surprisingly fun activity for a group of adults. Each of us might have been older then some of the other teams combined, but we still had a good time. There are some good arcade games to play while you are waiting to start. The game itself is broken into three teams, and you win points individually and as a team. A game is about 15 minutes and it's $6.50 a game. There were 5 of us, and we did a pretty good job. I'll go back. read more

I always laugh when I come here. No matter the size of your group it is pretty fun. The laser tag area is really large and accomadates groyps of any size. Service is always friendly and laid back. The sessions are pretty cheap and offer objectives and teams. I deducted two stars because the arcade is expensive and outdated and the building as a whole needs updating. However, overall, it is the best laser tag fun I have had. This was my 3rd time visiting ansI am.sure to come back. read more

I always have a blast here. We come for the last gamed on saturday nights and on occasions do the three hour games on wednesday. Pretty good deals on the games. I dropped my daughter off for a birthday party for eight-year-olds. Facility looked fairly clean and large inside. I picked her up an hour later after she paid three games for 15 minutes. Her face was red and she was out of breath. She told me she got really good exercise running around the track and climbing very steep stairs. So from an exercise point of view I was happy to see that. She also showed me the printouts that were given to her after she completed each round of laser tag. Parent Lee laser tag has come far since our day. They have every piece of data to report. The print out included how many tags my daughter had on players front and back. How many tags she has had on her. How many players and her percent accuracy and how she ranked in the entire game. Pretty cool with all the data.
