    Short rib

I didn't have high expectations because usually restaurants with high end decor end up with mediocre expensive food. But I was pleasantly surprised! The interior is very gorgeous and there's multiple spaces like the lounge and patio. The service was very attentive and prompt. The highlights for food were definitely the short rib (such good flavour and char) and the mushroom fried rice.

Inside lounge - The image shows an interior lounge with a dark, elegant ambiance. The ceiling is decorated with gold floral and leaf patterns on a black background. The bar area on the left side has illuminated shelves displaying bottles. The seating area includes tables set with glasses, candles, and lamps, creating a cozy atmosphere. Framed pictures hang on the dark wall behind the seating area, and an emergency exit sign is visible near the ceiling.

I've been to Ultra twice - we booked the patio both times, but since it was rainy the first time, we were seated in their bar/lounge area. The patio feels like a resort, until you realize you're in the middle of Toronto. Lovely decor all around. The lounge was VERY different - dark, moody, kind of like a hotel lobby bar. You can see from the photos how contrasting the vibes are. I highly recommend the Tuna Tacos from the happy hour menu - these were by far the most flavourful dish, and the taco itself is made of fried nori. From the main menu, my favourite was the Shrimp Fried Rice. All food was pretty good considering it is Asian fusion, which can be hit or miss. We really appreciated that happy hour ran until 7:30PM on a Friday evening, which is likely due to Ultra's location. Service was solid throughout both of my visits. I definitely see myself returning!

I came here for a friend's birthday so we had a set menu. I did enjoy most of the food. The dishes I'd recommend are the tuna tartare, shishito peppers, thousand layer potato, miso sablefish and Wagyu skirt steak. The vibes were amazing! There was a DJ playing music and it eventually turned into a dance party. If you're looking for a fun spot for girls night, this is it.

I came in with low expectations. Most restaurants that look like this, especially Asian inspired usually have over priced food and cocktails. It's mainly for the interior and vibe. But I was happily shocked by the quality and taste. All of the dishes actually was executed very well and had a nice creative twist. A special shout out to the scallop ceviche, boneless short rib main and seafood pasta. by the end of the night they turned on the music, and it was actually quite loud. I got a little bit hard to talk, but the music was good.

We are a group of 14 here to celebrate a birthday. From start to finish, the service was impeccable. Accommodating a large group like us is no easy job, the servers are very patient with us given we have late guests and numerous requests. We first started in the darker bar room, the decor was stylish, classy, and clean! Drinks were flowing at all times. Loved it. Then, we moved to the main dining room which looked like we were sitting underneath a big tent. It felt cozy, lovely, and cute all at the same time. We did the $75 pre fixe menu which was filling and yummy. Definitely impressed by the mushroom/truffle fried rice! I was too full to even try out the desserts, but based on the feedback, everyone liked them as well. Thank you, especially the staff, for a great night, would definitely come back.

Was here last night with friends, classy place with a beautiful dining room with dj playing, very good food, a separate bar, and separate rooftop patio. The food is upscale Asian fusion I would say. We had several dishes and all were very tasty. Service was fantastic and very friendly, and we sat at the bar afterwards where the ambiance though very noisy, was also very friendly. I would recommend this place if you are planning to take someone out on date to impress them.

It's a hidden gem! I went in for Summerlicious lunch with my husband. The interior was gorgeous and very spacious. We ordered dim sum & mango salad for appetizers, sirloin steak & fish for main and Paris bras and lemon cake for dessert. All dishes were nicely presented and very flavorful. We especially liked dim sum and Paris bras. Service was a bit slow but our servers were very pleasant. We will definitely go back.

We arrived around 3:30 pm when it was fairly occupied; they feature 'Happy Sour Hour' from 4 to 7 pm, during which all of their sour beers are reduced in price to $7.00. We ordered and shared two beers, the first a lager, the second a sour beer in order to take advantage of the discounted price. The venue is long and narrow, with two floors and a distinctive looking back patio. Our service was fairly prompt and they are located in a quite convenient location, literally across the street from the subway and the historic, flagship LCBO location. So I can recommend a visit if you're in the area and desire a drink and/or snack.

The restaurant has both a main floor and an upper level that can be used for private events. The vibe is elegant yet cozy, making it a lovely spot for a special night out. We tried "Yalla Per" menu which is the tasting/experience menu here, that includes cold appetizer, warn appetizer, main dish and dessert. You can also do wine or cocktail pairing at extra cost. We trued "Cold Appetizer Trio", "Kibbeh Nayeh", "Bazoog Salad", and "Mante" from the appetizers menu. For entrée, we tried "Vochkhar" and finished off with "Ashta Tart". The entrance alone sets the tone with a stunning floral walkway that feels like the prelude to a special evening. Whether you're planning a romantic dinner or celebrating a special occasion, this Yorkville spot delivers an elevated experience on every level. The ambiance is sophisticated and chic, with dim lighting, luxe finishes, and a modern yet intimate vibe that makes it perfect for a date night. The service is warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming; small details like offering complimentary champagne for our anniversary didn't go unnoticed and added a personal touch that made the night feel even more special. We started off with cocktails and got the Lychee Fizz, which is their most popular option. It lived up to the hype: light, flavourful, and incredibly refreshing. A perfect drink to ease into the evening. Appetizers kicked off with the Corn Dog & Caviar, which came as four perfectly crisp bites. The contrast of the crunchy exterior with the melted cheese, sausage, and caviar-mayo topping was indulgent and playful; elevated comfort food at its finest. For mains, we shared the Lobster Spaghetti, Grilled Sea Bass, and the Slaw. The spaghetti was packed with generous chunks of lobster, al dente pasta, and a breadcrumb-like topping that added an unexpected but welcome crunch. The sea bass was tender, flaky, and full of flavour, while the slaw - a sleeper hit - stood out with its mix of veggies, peanut sauce, and crispy wonton strips that gave it depth and texture. We ended the night with the Pandan Cake, a sizable chiffon-style cake topped with passionfruit, dark chocolate, strawberry, raspberry, and sakura dust. Admittedly, I was unsure how all those bold flavours would work together, but somehow it did! Delicate, airy, and perfectly balanced. Jade is the kind of place that impresses not just with its food and cocktails, but with its atmosphere and attention to detail. Whether you're celebrating love, a milestone, or just a night out, this Asian fusion spot in Yorkville is well worth the visit. Highly recommended.

Enjoyed stopping by Jade with my parents tonight!…read more We made a reservation on open table, although there were definitely some tables that I think would be free for walk ins. There's a nice pink flower wall in the entrance and the interior is a bit dark and cozy with velvet booths and a nice bar. We ordered oysters, kaizen toast, tofu, steak, sea bass, lobster spaghetti, and broccolini. A few thoughts: - the oysters are nice, I appreciate the tiny bits of rice that add a bit of a texture. They come with toppings already so if you're looking for just plain raw oysters, don't order these - the kaizen toast is one of their specialities. It's pretty heavy (with the foie gras and unagi) but delicious if you like all the toppings! We split between the three of us and that was the perfect amount - the steak frites were cooked perfectly and I enjoyed that the fries were truffle fries! - I would have preferred the broccolini sauce to be on the side, it was a bit heavy I also tried a lychee fizz, good, but I would probably try something else next time. Overall, a nice time especially for a nice dinner, date tonight, or celebration.

The couple of items that I remembered to take a photo for, we split some Wagyu, ordered a side of Broccolini, and had a fantastic frozen berry desert crisp. Everything was cooked fantastically, and we savored every bite. I thought that I would feel crowded at the restaurant, but they handle their space very well. The service was equally exquisite, we had both a waiter and an assistant that made sure that we didn't have a need in the world. I highly recommend making reservations prior to going here because they seem to be popular and certainly deserve it! I wish that I was able to visit again last month, but I had to try out other amazing restaurants in Toronto. Looking forward to returning!

My only problem is that they don't have enough lighting, so it tends to get quite dark (hence my lack of good pictures). The wait staff is accommodating, but they have forgotten to bring side dishes on two separate occasions I have visited. Also, on one occasion they started to clear a plate before we were done with it, which was annoying. The food is quite good. I particularly enjoy the bread, prawns, and mille-feuille dessert (has a nostalgic element for me as it tastes like an elevated Passion Flakie which I would have as a child). I had the lamb saddle as a main on my most recent visit which had good flavour, but was a bit too chewy. Overall, Alobar is a good choice for dinner, but has a few flaws which holds it back.

This place is great if you want good Oeik8ng Duck without having to pay $100 for it. As such, for $20, you get enough for one person, which is great for a fast meal downtown. We went there for a late-night snack Fri around 21:00; they close at 22:00. We ordered the following: 1. Quarter Roast Duck & Samyang Spicy Noodles Combo ($19.99). 2. Popcorn Duck ($8.99). The Quarter Roast Duck is like having 25% of a Peking Duck; their whole Peking Duck costs $68.88. It comes with 9 wraps (they call them duck pancake) (as per Peking Duck dinners), toppings (cucumber, scallions, hawthorn fruit slices), and duck sauce. The duck sauce is made in-house. They actually sell each of the accompanying items separately if you want more! The combo is considered a value meal, which comes with Samyang Spicy Noodles and a drink/pop. The duck pieces were juicy and tasted good. The duck skins were thin, crispy, and not lined with fat. We asked for the noodles (South Korean instant ramen noodles) to be as mild as possible but the spice was already in the noodles so it came out medium spicy. I don't dare try their regular spice level! The Popcorn Duck is an interesting take on Popcorn Chicken. It was quite good. It comes with a dipping sauce. The customer service was good. The chef has been making Peking Duck for at least 15 years. Interestingly, they can 3D-print a sugar candy figure. You choose a figure from a menu (sorry, I forgot to take a photo of that menu). We chose a dragon. It was printed from sugar candy onto a stick, and takes about 1 min to complete! They are so cute! Note: You get 10% off if you pay by cash. All their dishes can be easily covered for takeout or left overs. We had some of the Popcorn Duck and Samyang Spicy Noodles so they simply put a lid on it. The lid has a hole to let any steam out. The hole happens to be the right size to hold the stick with the 3D printed figure, if you so wish. Ingenious setup to use specialize lids to save time! There is one item called The Box ($228), which is a BOGO Peking Duck. You get a whole Peking Duck and with Duck Sushi in an Oriental box that opens with drawers! Very ornate. When you eat in, they give you another whole Peking Duck ($68.88) along with The Box. You you order for takeout, you actually get to bring the box with you (on loan). When you bring back the box, you get the whole Peking Duck; if you don't bring back the box, you forfeit the whole Peking Duck ($68.88). Such a unique concept! They gave us each a water cup with a lid and reusable straw. They are giving these out to some guests during their soft-opening period. There is no free WiFi. The restaurant is not wheelchair accessible. There is paid neighbourhood street parking. Review 2025-144
