I was a regular but won't be going back. They advertise 89 cents a pound for drop off. However, they actually charge $1 per pound. I brought the issue up to the person working there. I showed her a picture of the sign in front of the store and suggested they fix the sign if they don't plan on honoring the advertised price. She got defensive and said "you're talking to me like I don't know how to do my job." I was very polite about it. I wasn't in any way attacking them. Regardless, I took my laundry at that point and left. I don't plan on giving these people any more business. Better not to deal with dishonest people. read more

My clothes always smell great and they are delivered promptly, even so far as being sorted by family member. I loathe matching socks. The building I live in only has three sets of washers & dryers so it's easier for me to send my clothes out. I had previously used a different business but after dropping the ball (more than once) I decided to give Ultra a go. Not sure if something has changed since the last review because I'm on my fifth order and I haven't experienced the things others have mentioned in their reviews. I place my order online through their website and the next day Larry calls to confirm pickup time. They have always picked up or delivered my clothes during the time window I have selected, even going as far as on one occasion, delivering the next day because my order was completed early and they would be in my neighborhood. Price point is decent and they do a great job. I recommend giving them a try! read more

Apparently, after being a loyal customer for almost two years, I've been blacklisted. Nice. Last Tuesday, I had an order through delivery.com for pickup/delivery. All was good even though the delivery was later than usual but I'm not picky about these things. However, I noticed that one of my comforters is missing. I call and I was told apparently by the guy that delivered my clothes just a couple of hours before that everything was delivered. Well, not really because I'm missing a blanket. He says he'll call back. I don't receive a call back. So I get delivery.com involved (another CS disaster) since my comforter is still missing and I was still charged for it. Just keep in mind here that I have not raised my voice or cursed anyone out or made any ridiculous demands. I'm not claiming that this blanket was made of the finest fabric, hand-stitched by virgins and it's the only one of its kind. I just want a resolution either my comforter or my money back. (None of these things have happened yet btw.) Anyway, today (8 days later), I get a voicemail from this place that basically says all my clothes were delivered, "our relationship is completely over and I've been blacklisted." That's fine with me. They are not the only laundry that does pick up and delivery but what a terrible way to treat customers. You've been warned. read more

I've lived in this neighborhood for 6 years and I really used to love this laundromat. Now I will never be doing business here again. I'm not sure what's happened in the last 6-12 months but they have been super disorganized and noncomminicative. I have to rely on their pickup/drop off laundry service because I am mildly disabled and am not supposed to be/able to lift heavy things. They used to be really quick with it, now they say they are sending people to pick up or drop off my laundry in 10-15 minutes then no one will ever show up. One time it took me up to two weeks to get my laundry back because they either kept saying they were sending someone and never did, or I couldn't even get a hold of someone in the first place. Today was my last straw with them as I called around 1 to ask for my laundry to be picked up, and although I was told someone would arrive in 10-15 mins, no one ever showed. When I called to inform one of the employees, one of the owners decided to yell at me that he was too busy, gave no solutions or assistance, and then hung up on me while I was mid sentence asking him to give me a more specific time when someone COULD come. I went to the laundromat to talk to the man face to face and he continued to ignore me and brush me off. I spoke to his wife, and while she was significantly kinder than her spouse, also offered no apology and said they could get to my laundry some other time they were just too busy. It's a bummer that this small family business is becoming the way that it is, and I'm so disappointed by how one of the owners thought he could speak to me and treat me. I definitely would not recommend their services at all; especially since it seems they've joined some laundry all? So now, yes, they are more busy, but they aren't expanding their staff to meet the need and everyone looks stressed and overworked. read more

A good place to do your laundry and get dry cleaning done. Pros: Free pickup and delivery laundry service anywhere in The Bronx and parts of Inwood in Manhattan. Spanish-speaking customers are welcome. ATM inside. Snack/drinks/smokes store next door. Two wall-mounted TVs so you can watch local news, game shows, cartoons, or soap operas while you wait. Cons: Would be nice to have air conditioning and more seating inside store (currently only two benches). Broken sink in bathroom. Working sink in middle of store only has piping hot water. Bonus: Give the little stuffed Minnie Mouse strapped to the front counter a squeeze for good luck and to prevent lost socks. read more

Decent number of machines with a wide variety of sizes (at least for the washers). The detergent vending machine has been out of order for the last two years or so. Have to pay via a special card, which is annoying. But that's kind of the norm around here. Haven't used any of the laundry services, but they always seem really busy behind the counter. read more

Love love Ultra Laundromat! I used their laundry pickup services for the first time a few weeks ago and I was skeptical at first -it being my first time, but they came on time to pick up my laundry. I received a call in the afternoon asking about a drop-off miscommunication and they quickly fixed the issue. Clothes were returned very nearly folded and smelling very good. I just used them again for a second time and the pick up and drop off were both very early- about an hour for both and the clothes once more smelled great and were folded neatly. They called before pick up and drop-off and were very polite. Would definitely recommend. read more

I used to LOVE this laundromat. I'm a full time working single mom, so doing our laundry can be really time consuming. I especially loved how I could not only drop off my laundry, but they would use my detergent. My daughter has really bad eczema, so regular detergents break her out into severe rashes and hives. But now something has changed significantly the last few months. It takes up to two weeks to get my laundry sometimes. It's hard to get someone on the phone. The last 3 times they didn't use my detergent so my daughter broke out in hives. And when before they used to be so great at delivering the clothes at my house, now there is hardly anyone ever around to deliver. It's really frustrating! I'll definitely be taking my business elsewhere!!!! read more

I called Ultra and they picked up my laundry bag within the hour and they said it will be back the next day. Four days later someone phoned and say my laundry will be delivered soon. I waited for the delivery person and they were a no show. Phoned the laundry three days later and they delivered my clothes within ten minutes. Whoever folded my clothes does not know how to fold clothes at all. My clothes were not sorted in the laundry bag and no fabric softener used. They just placed a dryer sheet in the laundry bag. I had to refold the whole bag. I will try not to use Ultra Laundry in the future. read more

Found this place on delivery.com after having an AWWFUL experience with a previous laundromat that I was a loyal customer too for three years. Me personally, I have NO TIME to haul my 50 plus pound bag of laundry every two weeks to the laundromat. So wash and fold service is my go to. What I love about this place is they charge a reasonable rate compared to other places in the area (only 1$ per pound as opposed to 1.50-2.50). They also do Same day delivery, something that I never even really needed but have really learned to appreciate. Always professional. Clothes always smell nice and are folded great. On the couple of occasions where there were miscommunications they did everything in their power to rectify the situation. I am now a new loyal customer. read more

This place has improved significantly. Free pick up and delivery. They told great and the prices are so cheap. I don't get why I haven't been doing this sooner. The only reason I don't give them 5 stars is sometimes when they deliver they never have change for me to pay. Also, I always separate my laundry for them because they will wash whites with reds or get bleach on a shirt if you don't separate it for them. Overall good place. read more

Placed a order for pickup at 12:48 had to call numerous times questioning when while my laundry be picked up . Whoever answered the phone was very rude and unprofessional , she then told me they had forgot about my pick up and will send someone as soon as they can. Someone finally shows up at 3:40 . When I ask him what time my clothes will be returned he tells me tomorrow probably in the morning . Mind you it was suppose to be returned the same day I placed the order at 4 .
