And just like the first time I went to see her (2016), this second time I was also offered a job! A promotional opportunity arose outside of my company and I knew the competition would be fierce. Not to fear, I thought, because I knew Judy could help me dust off my interview skills. I still had Judy's material and notes from the first time I saw her. Shoot, there were a few techniques Judy taught me in 2016 that I continue to use since I am routinely presented with hypothetical situations and asked to make sense of them. I was surprised, and humbled, at how many of Judy's skills and techniques I had forgotten since I last saw her. I knew after completing my first session with her that I'd need a second. Once again, Judy's guidance propelled me to a second-round interview. My soon-to-be boss told me that the first-round interview had gone so well, the panel urged that I be interviewed ahead of the second-round schedule. For this, I have Judy to thank. Judy has a way of coaching you through complex concepts and breaking them down into bite-sized pieces. She's a master at working with you to identify your own experience and crafting just the right "elevator pitch" to use in panel and one-on-one interviews. Judy's formulas for answering hypothetical questions, word choice for describing one's achievements, and tips on how to negotiate a higher salary for yourself are truly incredible. Her hour-and-a-half sessions race by and are actually fun. I'm a pretty cheap person, but I'll tell you Judy's worth every penny of her fee. I have zero question in my mind that when the next promotional opportunity arises for me, one of the first people I'll call is Judy.

I could not have asked for two better individuals in my career transition than Chastidy Lopez and Vicki Nelson. Both ladies understood my new career objectives and begun strategizing to achieve my new career goal. When I first called Ultimate Staffing; I got the pleasure of speaking with Chastidy Lopez, who was very welcoming and more than happy to assist me. Chastidy exceeded my expectations in helping me get established with Ultimate Staffing and she connected me with a recruiter in the Human Resources field. My first appointment with Ultimate Staffing was on a Wednesday, where I met Vicki Nelson who took the time to meet with me even though the office was extremely busy. I was so impressed on how Vicki understood my motivations and how to use my education, skills, and experience for a position in my new desired field. The next day, Vicki obtained a phone interview for me with a great company for a position in their Human Resource Department. On Friday of that same week; I had a face to face interview with the company and on Monday, Vicki called me to announce that I got the position! WOW! I am so happy I found Ultimate Staffing. With Tarick he was able to reach out to me quickly as soon as I needed a job and get me onboard with an Employer in a matter of days. Hello, I am extremely happy with Ultimate Staffing of San Diego. Vickie and Kimberly went above and beyond to find me a GREAT JOB. I was out of work for 2 months behind almost losing my life in a car fire and Vickie and Kimberly understood that it was very important for me to get back to work and get back into a routine instead of constantly thinking about the tragedy that happened and all of the things that I loss behind it. I had such a great experience with Ultimate Staffing, both Caroline and Tarick were there with me every step of the way. Not only did they help with coaching when it came to things to say and not to say, but they called everyday making sure that I was being taken care of and that I had assistance getting documents signed scanned and sent back to them. I never really do reviews but I really felt like it was necessary. I never go through a staffing agency, but let's just say it's been the most rewarding job I've ever had especially with all help from Tarick. He's been the best through out the whole process from hiring to on boarding to just checking in on me to see how I'm doing. I recently tested positive for COVID and Tarick helped so much and made me feel very cared for. He's is an amazing person with an amazing personality and very charismatic. I inquired about a job and got a call for a zoom interview, then I was given 2 tests to complete but the link was only letting me access to one so I reached out to the recruiter about it and told her that so had completed one out of the two and sent her screenshots of the error I received while trying to do the second test and she replied back very promptly and informed me that she had sent another link for the test and so I finally get that test done and informed the recruiter and I get an email from her saying "Thank you" So I assumed that they would get back to me. I tried calling them multiple times but nobody ever answered the phones. 10+ days go by and I'm calling but nobody ever answered or returned the calls so I proceeded to email a follow up after that since I wasn't getting anywhere and Woow! Weeks after I finally hear back with the classic "we don't have anything that fits your skill set" SO THEN WHY EVEN TALK ABOUT A POSITION THAT YOU WERE NOT EVEN GOING TO PRESENT ME FOR??? So unprofessional! They need to figure out their stuff because why even try to help others when your office and staff isn't working properly. Other than the one Express office in Camino del rio this is the second office that just doesn't produce good outcomes. IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO WASTE YOUR TIME DO NOT COME WORK FOR THIS INDIVIDUALS

This time, the second time, my experience has been even more painful. Supposedly, I entered into some sort of "program" to get me employed but thus far it has been months of going around and around with one woman after another who has done nothing but refer me to "workshops" led by women who openly admit that they cannot get hired doing anything else. Yes, the Metro Career Center is clean, but I really wonder if some of these overly enthusiastic reviews on here are created by employees simply to ensure that the funding continues. The truth is that you can get a computer at the library. You can get a listing of temp agencies (that are not hiring) from Google. I can tell myself the basics of resume design. I can (even better) ask ChatGPT. My current "case manager" does nothing. She knows that I am going to go hungry soon so she sends me two links to dead-end job listings from companies that thus far have ignored my application. I'm not qualified to be a lot attendant for a parking company? Do I need two degrees for such a prestigious position? Now my case manager refuses to return my emails, even after I have begged for more help, or at least some moral support. Terrible. These Career Centers do nothing and are staffed by people who are otherwise unemployable themselves. As I've already written, the library also has free computers. The people at the Career Center claim that somewhere at the end of the rainbow there may be Department of Labor training, but you never get there. The pot of gold is a mirage. It's just the same thing over and over again, if you are even that lucky. Redo your resume. Redo your resume. Redo your resume. Get no job hits. San Diego's job market is the worst I've ever seen. Vastly too many people. And most of the people doing the hiring are very very biased and prejudicial about who they hire. Too old? Too this? Too that? Too bad. Get your shopping cart and pick a nice corner in a nearby parking lot to live. And no one cares. Even the people allegedly paid to help you. Five stars for superficial appearance. Zero stars for actually doing anything to help you get employed.

I sent the invoice then and told them I didn't expect payment until the following week, but they paid me that Friday, just four days later! That is outstanding service!
